First Day of Rehearsal
We come to the main stage where Kermit, Maria, Rita and Runt were there with the contestants minus Gwen ready for the first rehearsal day.
"This contest is war" Kermit said as he paced back and forth in front of them "This stage is the battlefield." He holds up his clipboard while Maria begins handing out some papers to the contestants "Your song is your weapon. Now you only get one shot blow that audience away so choose carefully from the list of songs I've selected for each of you."
Just then Gwen arrives and upon seeing her Kermit smiles and said "Ah, see you talked some sense into that boyfriend of yours Gwen"
"Duncan is an artist but I wouldn't expect you to understand" Gwen said
"You're right, I don't understand that at all" Kermit said as he pulls out Gwen's list from his clipboard and hands it to her, what he said took Gwen aback a bit. He begins heading backstage and said as the contestants followed him however he nor anyone notice the Seekers fighting over the list "You'll notice each list also includes my costume and performance suggestions. Okay Maria will show you to your spaces now let's get to work!"
Mondo seeing something surprising calls out rushing to Kermit "Excuse me, Mr. Frog! For some reason it says here I should be playing the piano?"
"Yes, just picture it big soulful biker like you, tenderly playing the keys. I am sure there will be goosebumps everywhere" Kermit said smiling
"But I haven't played piano since I was a kid" Mondo points out
"Miss Calavera, we're going to need some piano lessons over here!" Kermit called out
"Yes sir." Maria said who was serving coffee to everyone and Kermit takes a cup "Runt show Mondo upstairs, I will be right along.
"Oh boy so many people here so exciting" Runt said happy as he leads Mondo upstairs
Rita looks to the reader "I guess so but so long as they don't disturb my catnaps we'll be good" She lies down to sleep
"Boomstick, you're in here" Kermit showing where the man would be practising
"You got it frog man" Boomstick said and heads for it
Hearing a commotion Kermit puts his cup back onto his tray and hurries to one seeing the Seekers arguing mainly Starscream and Skywarp while Thundercraker watches with the list.
"Check your ego!" Skywarp said while Starscream turns away annoyed
"Hey, hey, hey! Break it up, break it up" Kermit said trying to calm them down.
"Oh yeah, tell Starscream. He started it!" Skywarp said
"That's right! Just like I started this band! My band Skywarp!" Starscream shouted
"Oh, forgive me your highness" Skywarp said mockingly bowing
"Guys come on" Thundercracker said trying to get the two to calm down but they argued over him.
Before Kermit could intervene more he hear familiar japanese music and looks to the window to see the Inkling girls again "No, no, no! Hey! Get out of here" Why didn't these girls understand they aren't in the show.
He runs to the window to see the five girls dancing to the song Ninja Re Bang Bang. They couldn't hear Kermit though the glass but when seeing him wave his finger they mistake it for a suggested dance move and do it happily
Giving up on it he goes back to the seekers and gets between Starscream and Skywarp and Kermit said "Look just calm down and pick a song." He sighs as he begins to leave, hopefully this is the only fire he has to put out today.
We then come to Nicole and Whisper entering there practise area. Whisper looks around amazed at the room Nicole begins to form a plan
"I think we have a better chance at winning if I do the singing parts and leave the dancing parts to you" Nicole said smiling
Whisper as he streatches said after laughing a bit "Hahaha! Do you jest? All you need is a spectuacular warm up!" He goes to a boombox and hits play "Come on let's get this heavy stuff off!" He begins removing his armour
"That...That is not nesseary" Nicole said averting her eyes and hearing a clang looks away "Oh...that is much more leather then I expected."
Whisper had removed only his chest and leg armour to reveal an organ leotard underneath as he dances. He looks to Nicole and reaching into his bag said "Relax, Whisper has gotten you one too" He pulls out a similar coloured female leotard with a skirt to match from his bag.
Just then Roman peeks in through the still open door annoyed and said "Hey helmet head! Keep it down will you?!"
"Whisper is sorry" Whisper said as Roman slams the door shut.
We then come to Gwen looking at her list entering the costume department where Kermit was and said "Hey Kermit, I think you gave me the wrong list, cheesy pop songs aren't really my thing"
"Style, I am happy you brought that up" Kermit said going to the rack of costumes "Now?" He pulls a pink tutu outfit "There" Gwen reacts in disgust "Isn't this a great colour for you?"
"I can't tell, it's melting my eyes" Gwen said and notices a wig that looked to be made with Porcupine quills "What's that?"
"Oh that, it is an old prop for a stage play with witches, it is eloquent but the quills fall out if shaken too much" Kermit explained
"Mind if I have it for my performance?" Gwen asked smiling
"Sure but what about the rest of it?" Kermit asked
"Well you have anything in black?" Gwen asked
"Black? What you want everyone think you're going to a funeral? Or some artsy fartsty type" Kermit said going to the other clothing rack "No, no, no. Bingo!" He pulls out a blue princess dress "Pop star princess!"
However before Gwen could comment on it the power goes out for the building.
"Is this part of the contest?" Whisper asked confused
"Okay everybody, don't panic, don't panic" Kermit said as everyone gathers in the hall.
"What's going one?" Roman asked as he and Neo look around
"Talk to me Maria" Kermit asked for answers
"Well, I can't recall when did we last pay the electric company?" Maria asked thinking
"Oh great..." Kermit groaned it has been a while so obviously the city cut there power. He the said "Don't worry, I will handle this. For now, continue to rehearse in the dark"
"Say what now?" Gwen asked surprised
"But I can't see anything" Nicole comments
"Don't worry Nicole" Whisper said and reaches into his cape and pulls out some glow sticks "I have glow sticks" He turns them on
"Great, use this to shake off those day 1 nerves" Kermit said going to the stairs "I'll be back shortly" He heads upstairs
"You got to be kidding me" Roman said as Neo shakes her head
"Okay everyone you heard him back to work now" Maria said and everyone heads back to there practise rooms "Come on everybody."
Now Kermit didn't have the money to pay the power company, but he knew where to get some for free. He opens the window and holding an extension chord drops onto a ledge and begins to shimmy across carefully.
However a piece breaks off and the frog nearly falls but manages to stay on. After recovering he said to the theatre "Sorry old girl, I'll get that fixed" He continues to shimmy along
He makes it to the end where he had to jump across to get onto the ledge of the neighbour building 'Pete's Bargains' now even though Kermit was a frog he wasn't the best jumper but he was going to try. He jumps but doesn't make it and falls
We then come to Ochaco, carrying a tin heading to the Muppet Theatre. She decided to do what Max has suggested and try to get a re-audtion. Just then Kermit drops down surprising her. Luckily the extension Kermit had was around his leg saving him getting hurt as it was aught on the broken ledge.
"Uh, mr. frog?" Ochaco asked shyly and Kermit looks to her "You probably don't remember me but I auditioned yesterday and I..."
"Hey, listen" Kermit said cutting her off. "Do you think you have a way to reach the ledge?"
Ochaco looks up to see it and asked "You mean that one? Sure, with my quirk"
A while later Kermit was floated up and he lands when Ochaco realeses and he was on the ledge. "Woah! Well, that's a heck of a power you have there" He complimented as he goes to continue to restore power to his building "Thanks a lot kid"
Ochaco follows along reading a prepared note saying "Uh, Mr. Frog, my name is Ochaco Uraraka and I baked a cake for you and uh...and I was wondering if maybe you could give me a second chance..."
"Just a moment please" Kermit said from the A of 'Bargins' He unplugs power from it and goes to grab the extension "Be right with you!" He called out and goes to plug it in the socket only for it not to reach as it was caught on something as he tried to pull.
He yanks it and it gets free only for the wire to collide with Rita and Maria, the latter who was about to have lunch and gets them stuck against a wall. All the while Mondo plays some music and Runt sleeps both unaware what happened.
What they did notice was power returning and people downstairs cheering at it. Mondo resumes playing.
"Mondo..." Maria said to try and get some help
"Ugh...all I wanted some some piece and relaxation" Rita said squirming to get free annoyed a bit.
We come to Kermit allowing Ochaco in as they come onto the backstage area and he said "Mind your head here please! Oh could you pull that scenic cable?" He moves to the stage
"You mean this one?" Ochaco asked pointing
"Yes that's the one" Kermit said nodding. Ochaco pulls it and the backdrop raises revealing a different one with a castle on a hill "Great!" Ochaco looks and watches amazed "And the house lights please"
Ochaco pulls the house lights lever and the lights in the audence area turn on bright and shiny "Wow..." Ochaco said looking around
"I know, beautiful isn't she?" Kermit asked smiling and nodding and after some thought said "You know what kid, how would you like to be a part of this show?"
"Really?!" Ochaco asked surprised and happy "Wait, oh my gosh. I was just going to ask about that"
"Great, cause I am in dire need of a stage hand" Kermit said nodding
The smile fades from Ochaco's face as she said "Stage hand? But..."
"Oh no need to worry about it, you'll pick it up in no time. I know all the inner workings so I will teach you." Kermit said smiling and heads backstage saying "Follow me!"
Once there Kermit explained "These are the Rehesal studios and dressing rooms." He moves upstairs and said "and up here we have workshops and the main office."
As Kermit heads up stairs Ochaco looks around to see all the contestants working on there performances. She smiles in amazement, maybe being a stage hand here woudn't be so bad and could help her. She simply said "Amazing..."
"Amazing?" A familiar voice to her said and she sees Roman and Neo by the stairs "Tch, I think what you really mean to say is awful, and that is me being nice and a good sport" He and Neo head back to there studio as he goes on "Not an ounce of talent between them, not one ounce."
He then stops and smiles saying "You know what actually Neo...I think that prize is as good as ours already" Neo grins and nod.
The two then rush to leave the building as Ochaco watches and she was concerned the two were going to do something bold.
Ochaco is in, but not the way her family expects and Roman maybe getting a little overconfident.
