Problems Arise on Second Day
We come to the second day of rehearsals and Roman was on stage singing Let's Face the Music and Dance.
Roman: There may be trouble ahead
But while there's moonlight
And music and love and romance
We then come to the off-stage area where Kermit, Uraraka and Neo were. Kermit was showing Uraraka how to operate the stage controls for lighting and such
"Now fade at the spot" Kermit told his new stagehand and Ochaco nods and does so. Neo was smiling and watching Roman.
Roman: Let's face the music and dance
"Good, lower the moon" Kermit said and Ochaco goes to do that
Maria walks up to Kermit with a cup of coffee "Coffee?"
"Thank you, Maria," Kermit said accepting it. Ochaco pulls the lever for the moon set piece, but it sticks "Okay, that's normal it just needs a knock." Ochaco knocks it and it works "See you're getting it" Ochaco smiles.
Roman: Before the fiddlers have fled
Before they ask us to pay the bill
And while we still got a chance
As Boomstick walks around backstage and Kermit drinks from his coffee Maria sees Runt whining and looks around "Say, anyone seen Runt's tennis ball? It keeps going missing"
Kermit felt something in his mouth and sees it is the tennis ball. He spits it out and it ricochets off a light, hits the lever that brings down the lights shocking Roman. Then a sandbag comes down and collides with Boomstick. The ball then flies more and lands near Runt who happily grabs it.
Neo checks Roman was okay and the two glare at Uraraka and Roman said "Hey what's the big idea gravity girl?! You almost killed me!"
"It wasn't me, honest" Ochaco said worried
"Oh really?" Roman said doubtful
However suddenly the stage lights catch fire surprising the three. Ochaco grabs a fire extinguisher and runs to put it out.
Kermit steps back and then concerned asked "Boomstick?" He hears Boomstick groan and sees him under a sandbag
Later Boomstick was loaded onto an ambulance, and he said dazed "He's Toast and I'm Butterfly…"
"Boomstick! You're going to be alright, just hang in their buddy" Kermit said worried and after the ambulance left, he sees Skywarp and Thundercracker walk past him complaining "Skywarp? Thundercracker?" He sees Starscream crying "Why aren't you guys rehearsing Starscream?"
"We're through, they say I'm an intolerable egomaniac" Starscream said and adds while leaving and crying "I don't even know what that means!"
Kermit watches in disbelief. He then comes back in just as Ochaco and Maria finished putting out the fire, he then said "Alright, we're two acts down. Give me some good news Maria"
"Oh, well I don't think it's as bad as it looks so maybe…" Maria said but the foor under gives out a bit "Oops"
Kermit sighs and smiles looking to Ochaco "Hey Uraraka, how would you like to re-audition for the show?"
"Really?" Ochaco said excited but then began to get nervous "Well…yeah…"
"Great" Kermit said and goes to help Maria out
"I mean no…" Ochaco then said
"What?" Kermit asked confused
"I mean yes I can sing but…I just get so nervous…I... I can't do it but I would totally do it…but no…no" Ochaco said as her wanting to do it wrestles her stage fright.
Kermit hearing this "I will just put you down for a maybe" He then hears familiar Japanese music and sees the Inklings running to there room "Right! Look their back!" He runs to go see them "We'll come back to this Ochaco!"
We see the Inklings dancing and sinking the Koi Koi Koi song but Kermit turns it off to talk to them
"Everyone, I want you to forget what I said before, you are all very talented. Please join the show, okay? Yes?" Kermit said but the five Inklings just looked at him confused "No? Oh right…" He gets out an English to Inkling language book "Here we go"
He then does his best to speak the Inkling language, it is unclear what he said but when he was done the five gasp and Marina goes and slaps Kermit before they all then leave.
"What? No no wait, wait, wait! Don't go!" Kermit said giving chase to them.
"What did he say?" Runt asked confused
"He unknowingly insulted there hygiene" Rita said "I believe at least I am not fluent in Inkling"
We then come to Nicole who was putting down a lot of papers with dance steps on it. All while the music for Venus was playing.
Whisper enters the room and seeing the papers asked "Hmmm, I am curious what is this for?"
"Well simply we use this to follow the steps" Nicole said smiling and she began following the steps and sing.
Nicole: Goddess on the mountain top
Burning like a silver flame
The summit of beauty and love
And…
Suddenly Gumball screaming excited as if on a sugar high runs in and messes up the sheets playing around. Nicole shocked said "Gumball no!"
"Well how about that" Whisper chuckled walking in
"Come on, what did I tell you?" Nicole said picking him up. She looks to Whisper and said "I'm sorry, he had a fever and it was too late to get a sitter…" Gumball wrestles free and runs around messing more of the sheets up. Nicole annoyed said "Seems you're fine now!"
Whisper: Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire
As Whisper dances he messes up more of the dance sheets and Nicole tries catching them quickly
We then come to Kermit and Gwen with the frog still trying to convince her to do a pop song and the song playing was Call Me Maybe.
Gwen deadpanned looks said "I am not singing this"
"What's not to like?" Kermit asked dancing to the music "You're a female and also a teenager, this song was made for you."
"Wow, it's like you can see inside my tiny teenaged mind" Gwen said sarcastically
"I know right. You just gotta add a little bit of mood and…" Kermit said and begins to dance and sing the words
Kermit: Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy
But here's my number, so call me maybe
"Go on try it out" Kermit said smiling
"You mean like this?" Gwen said and begun
Gwen: …try to chase me
But here's my number, so call me maybe
"There you go, you're a natural" Kermit said smiling while confusing Gwen.
We then come to Mondo upstairs with Maria trying to play the piano, but he messes up a note and slams his fist on the piano and groans
"Yes that was very bad" Maria said pouring some coffee
"Mondo, come in over" Bane's voice is heard coming from the coat, it was really the walkie talkie in a coat.
"Mondo, is your coat talking?" Maria asked confused
"Mondo, where are you?" Bane asked on the talkie
Mondo quickly goes over to the coat, gets the walkie talkie and said in a low voice while keeping it concealed "Uncle, I'm here, what's going on? Over"
We then see Mondo going downstairs after telling Kermit he had to go now.
Kermit shocked asked "Hold on, what do you mean you have to leave now?"
"I know, I'm really sorry Mr. Frog, but I have this family business thing" Mondo explained
"I just lost two acts and accidentally insulted one of my potential backup acts out the door, also have to get the stage and lights fixed" Kermit said "Do I also have to start worrying about you commitment Mondo? Please tell me no"
"No, absolutely not" Mondo told him "I promise it won't happen again."
"I hope it doesn't" Kermit said and goes to his office
"Thank you" Mondo said and leaves to meet with his uncle.
Suffice to say despite a few setbacks the contest still looks to be on track.
Well thingsgot bad but seems to not hinder the contest much for Kermit
