The Truth Revealed
We come to the Muppet theatre where Mondo was finishing up practising his piano playing, in the span of the night and given he was focused solely on his performance he has improved dramatically.
"Whoo" Mondo sighs in relief and turns to Maria "How was that Miss. Calavera?" He sees that she was fast asleep, mainly due to being up all night.
"Hey!" Ochaco said coming into the room suddenly that spooks Maria awake, and she falls out her chair "Sorry, it's just Mr. Frog would like everyone to meet backstage before she arrives."
We come to Gwen practicing her song, that she made, in her studio.
Gwen: When you set it all free, all free, all free
You set it all free
"Wow…" Kermit is heard saying and Gwen sees him standing by the doorway "Did you write that?"
"Err…yeah I did" Gwen said awkwardly as she knew Kermit had her singing pop songs "Do you like it?"
Kermit smiles and said "Are you kidding? It's fantastic! You have to sing that today!" He leaves the room
Gwen meanwhile was surprised, she thought Kermit would be mad, but he actually liked the song she came up with and smiles
Backstage Kermit was going about arranging the schedule for the performers for Minerva's private showing.
"Roman, you're on first" Kermit said passing by Roman and Neo were relaxing
"Sure thing" Roman said and his phone rings and he answers, "Just a second…Mercy I'm busy" He then sits up concerned "What? I can't hear you" He and Neo move to somewhere queiter.
Kermit unconcerned keeps going approaching Whisper who was nervous as Nicole hasn't shown back up. "Nicole and Whisper, you're on after Roman."
Just then Nicole comes in confidently and said "You got it boss"
"Nicole!" Whisper said happy and high fives her "Whisper is happy you came back!"
"Okay, Mondo you follow them" Kermit said going to Mondo who was reading the newspaper, the front-page covering Bane's arrest.
"What? Oh, yeah, yeah I'm ready don't worry" Mondo said with a nod.
"Gwen, you're…" Kermit said going to Gwen who was looking at her song
"After Mondo, I was paying attention and got it" Gwen said to him nodding
Kermit then approaches Ochaco and said "Ochaco, last chance kid. You want to join these guys out there today?"
"I would but, I just get so scared" Ochaco said nervous
"Sure, you do, but you know how to get over it right?" Kermit said smiling as he checks the costumes.
"Uh…no" Ochaco said shaking her head
"You just start singing!" Kermit told her confidently, he goes to stand on a box to be eye level with her "Do what you love, then you'll be great because you'll won't be afraid anymore because you'll be doing it! Right?"
"Uhhh…" Ochaco lets out unsure on how to answer it
"Look, do you love to sing?" Kermit asked her "I mean, do you really love it?"
"Of course, I do" Ochaco told him
"Then you face this head on Ochaco" Kermit told her "Because like my dad always said 'Don't let fear stop you from doing the thing you love'"
Ochaco smiles and said "Okay, I'll do it!"
"Great!" Kermit said excited
"Mr. Frog!" Maria called out and nervous said "She's here"
"Moment of truth time" Rita said "Either they impress her enough to sponsor the contest, or master will be in trouble"
"I am confident she'll love them" Runt said excited
"Well, I am curious on how Ochaco will perform, haven't heard her yet" Rita adds in nodding
Indeed, coming up to the front of Muppet Theatre was Minerva McGonagal's car, Wiz was also there to be with her to watch the show. Bootler goes and opens Minerva's door, and she steps out and stares in amazement at her old theatre where she performed in her younger days. It was just how she remembered it.
Kermit comes out and exclaims "Minerva!" He goes to hug her
"Oh, do not even think of embracing me" Minerva said stopping him.
"You got it" Kermit said nodding "Wiz, please show your nana to the royal box"
"Oh, heavens sakes. I am perfectly capable of walking" Minerva said annoyed as she begins to head inside
Wiz concerned asked Kermit "Hope you don't mind me asking, but are you nervous?"
"Are you kidding?" Kermit said laughing a bit then admits as he heads in "I'm completely terrified." He had good reason to be, this was make or break.
As Wiz follows him inside and Bootler drives off, passing by Roman and Neo's red sports car, three familiar vehicles drive by but one of the cars stops causing the others to
"Boss" The Vehicon said and the other Vehicon and Breakdown go to him and look at the car "Isn't that his car, right?"
Breakdown looks at it and transforms "Let's go boys" he said serious, he wasn't over what happened a few nights ago.
Inside the theatre, Minerva and Wiz have made it to the royal box and took their seats to watch the show. Maria walks in with a cup of tea.
"Earl Grey tea ma'm, courtesy of Mr. Fr…" Maria said but was interrupted when Runt runs in bumping her and making her spill the tea "Oh…I apologise"
"It's fine" Minerva said sighing while Runt looks sheepish, and Rita pats his head in comfort.
Maria and the pets leave as the lights dim
Back outside Roman and Neo were out front with Roman still on the phone with Mercy
"Mercy, darling, the show is starting I can't talk now I have to go" Roman told her and listens as the two begin to head in "Course I love you, think I wouldn't agree to buy you medical equipment if I didn't"
Suddenly both were grabbed and held up by Breakdown who asked angered "Where is my money?"
"Okay, Breakdown look, listen, listen!" Roman said very nervous now "I uh…maybe, might have…spent it all" Neo nods to that
"Looks like we have some target practise boys" Breakdown said smirking and goes to take them away
"NO! WAIT! I'LL GET YOU THE MONEY!" Roman called out and adds "I'LL EVEN PAY INTEREST! $100,000!"
This made Breakdown stop and he asks smirking "and where are you two going to get that kind of money?"
"Kermit!" Roman said and Neo points to the theatre "Kermit has the money!"
"Who is this, Kermit?" Breakdown said, apparently, he missed the news on the contest since he had no idea on it.
Back at the stage Kermit takes a deep breath as he is lowered on the moon set piece and a spotlight shines on him.
"All creatures great and small! Welcome to the Muppet Theatre!" Kermit began smile pretending it was the actual show day "I am your host, Kermit the…" Ochaco was lowering him but the lever clings down and he drops down fast "AHHHHHH!" Ochaco saves it by pulling it back up.
Minerva watching shakes her head and Wiz facepalms
"Okay!" Kermit said recovering "Behold! The very first stage lit entirely by…. Luma power!" and with that the curtains separate and reveal the new stage with several lumas under the water changing colours. On the centre at the back was the chest that contains the contest prize
This was amazing site as the contestants and Wiz clap while Minerva was amazed at the sight
"Yeah!" Kermit said leaping off the moon and lands on the stage safely and said to the Lumas' below him "Beautiful work guys, now follow me on the beat" He stands and dances a bit while the Lumas follow his beat "As you can see, this is no ordinary theatre, this is a palace of wonder and magic!"
Wiz laughs excited, he actually believes now Kermit can pull this off "He's doing it! He's really doing nana Minerva!"
"Oh, goodness" Minerva said in amazement, she was doubtful of Kermit's claims, but she was actually impressed by him.
"Now, welcome our first contestant…" Kermit began but all of a sudden Breakdown with his two Vehicons burst in with the captive Roman and Neo. "Woah!" The music dies at that as everyone looks at the crashers.
"Which one of you earth squishies is Kermit?" Breakdown demands walking forward with his goons
"Hey, hey! You can't just barge in here" Kermit told him
"You know these two?" Breakdown said holding up Roman and Neo squeezing them a bit
"Roman? Neo?" Kermit asked confused
"Right, Roman here says you got his money" Breakdown said going up to Kermit "and it's in that box" Minerva and Wiz watch on in shock, they knew the truth, and this could end up bad
"No, no, no" Kermit said trying to calm the situation "Just hold on a moment. That's prize money and it's not Roman's until he wins it fair and…"
"Please just give him the money Kermit!" Roman said scared for his life right now as Breakdown squeezes more
"Okay, okay, hey! Kermit said understanding the seriousness of it "Just take it, the whole chest! It's all right here"
"I want to see it first, open it" Breakdown told Kermit
"Open it? I err…me?" Kermit asked nervous, he really didn't want to open it and reveal he was deceiving the contestants unintentionally.
"Open it!" Roman said struggling to breath
"Okay, it's just…" Kermit said backing up and his back was against the box "I just don't have the key, so maybe you can come back later"
Breakdown picks him up and tosses him aside saying "Get of the way." He also tosses Roman and Neo aside, he then motions of a vehicon who gives him a bat
"No, no! Don't!" Kermit calls out "No! Wait!" but it was too late, Breakdown smashes the box with the bat breaking it open.
"Hey, there you go" Roman said as he helps Neo up and relieved this was possibly over. "Big bot with the bat, who needs keys right? Let's get this thing squared away" The two go to look at the contents and his smile fades "What the? That's it? That's all there is?!" He then looks at Kermit "He lied!" This shocked everyone who didn't know "Kermit lied to us all!"
"Wait a moment, I can explain it all" Kermit said scared a bit as they all crowd him "This is just a prop"
"So where is the $100,000 then?" Mondo asked him
"You're kidding!" Nicole said shocked
Kemit steps back and said "This was just…" However, he stops as he notices the glass breaking as does everyone
They all look at the wall of glass containing the water and Lumas as it begins to break and crack.
"Kermit look out!" Wiz called out to him
But then the glass completely breaks and floods the whole stage. Ochaco gets washed away along with everyone can ends up in the ticket booth unable to get out due to the oncoming water
"I'm stuck!" Ochaco cries out
More water pipes break and begin to flood the theatre more and destroy it. Mondo holds onto a chare underwater but it breaks and he is swept away and holds onto a pole as does a Vehicon but both are swept away when it breaks and the upper seating collapses
Kermit is swept against it and gasps for air. He then begins to climb up to het to higher ground.
"Kermit it's falling! Let's go!" Wiz called out he then pushes Minerva to get out of the Royal box as it begins to collapse while Kermit makes it out of the stage area
Meanwhile the contestants all were in the entrance area struggling to keep above water. Kermit rushes through the rafters quickly and makes it back to his office
"Okay, steady girl, steady!" Kermit said to the building scared as he sees it cracking
Mondo moves and surfaces. And gasps for air, he had an idea. He then dives under water and charges Ochaco with enough force that it breaks open the doors and the water drain out and everyone is washed out of the theatre. Roman and Neo further way they end up going down an alley
"Ugh…worse experience ever" Rita said with messed up further
"I don't like that bath" Runt said and shakes to dry himself
Everyone coughs and recovers. Kermit goes to them and said "Is everyone okay?" He looks and sees Minerva getting into her car "Minerva! I'm so sorry I just..." She just glares at him and enters her car "No, no, no! Don't go!"
"Has anyone seen by goggles?" Maria said looking around, she didn't have her cybernetic goggles that help her see.
Kermit spots them and picks them up "They're here Maria, I've got them!"
Suddenly a rumble gets everyone's attention, they turn to the thratre and see it unleash a large amount of rubble dust as it begins to collapse in on itself. As it settles everyone looks on and are in shock, but none more so then Kermit as the Muppet Theatre was reduced to rubble only the stone archway that was on the roof remained intact.
As Minerva's song plays in his head solemly. Kermit walks forward in shock "No…" He then looks around at all the damage barely anything survived. He then sees something in the rubble and picks it up, it was his father's carwash bucket and the weight of it all its "Oh dad…I'm so sorry..." He then begins to cry while Maria, Rita and Runt comfort him
Meanwhile in an alley shivering were Roman and Neo but quickly hide as they see Breakdown and his goons searching it for signs of them, they still wanted there promised money, but they quickly leave.
With Nicole, she got a cab home, she was shivering and processing it, she suddenly hears kids calling out and quickly goes round back and saw Richard, her kids and their friends hanging on the clothes line
"Oh my gosh!" Nicole said shocked "Don't worry! Mommy's here!" She hurries inside to help them
With Ochaco, she was crying while her mother and Hardley comfort her. Max comes in and sits next to her and offers her some coco but Ochaco doesn't want any.
They were watching the news as Kent Brockman covers the collapse of the Muppet Theatre and said "…it was a miracle anyone survived this disaster"
With Mondo he was at the prison for visiting hours sitting and waiting for his uncle, but he wasn't showing. Bane was sitting in his cell and sighs; he didn't want to see his nephew. Eventually Mondo gives up and leaves.
With Gwen, she was walking by Sully's bar, the same place her and Duncan auditioned at for a gig and looks inside, she was surprised to see there performing was Duncan and Heather. She almost teared up and runs off.
Back with Kermit he stood there watching as Cinch, hammers down a Property of Dragonville National Back sign. Cinch looks at glares him to leave
Kermit sighs as he held his father's bucket, the picture of when he opened the thetre and a few small things, he then leaves with Rita and Runt, to where he had no idea.
What he did know was this; his dream was over.
Well looks like the theatre there and the weight of it all has crushed Kermit's spirit, will he recover?
