House of Eavesdrop:

Amber and Aaron had just discovered the bug in Amber's scarf. Aaron put the bug down and dragged Amber out of the room.

"What are you doing?" Asked Amber.

"Making sure that whoever is eavesdropping can't hear us," said Aaron.

"Do you think that bug is on?" Asked Amber.

"No idea, but we've to be careful," said Aaron.

"Who would want to eavesdrop on us?" Asked Amber.

"Victor, that man in the mask or both," said Aaron.

"What are we gonna do now?" Asked Amber.

"We need to tell the rest of the club this, we need to figure out how that bug got in your scarf and who did," said Aaron.

Amber thought back to the day she lost her scarf and Jerome was the one who gave it back to her.

"Jerome," said Amber.

"Jerome, are you sure about that?" Asked Aaron.

"Yes, do you remember the day I lost my scarf?" Asked Amber.

"Yes, you've searched the whole house for it," said Aaron.

"Yes and Jerome had found my scarf and he said he found my scarf under his sweater that was in the living room, but I had already checked in the living room before and there was no sweater or scarf," said Amber.

"And are you sure?" Asked Aaron.

"Yes, I'm sure," said Amber.

"Okay you go to your room take a a small box and put the bug in it and then you fill the box with cotton pads," said Aaron.

"Why? Asked Amber.

"That way we can mute the bug and it will be more difficult to eavesdrop on us, said Aaron.

"What are you going to do?" Asked Amber.

"I'm going to get the rest of the club, Sibuna emergency meeting," said Aaron.

Amber went to her room and Aaron went looking for the rest of the club.

A few minutes later. Nina came home and walked to Fabian's room.

"Hi," said Nina.

"Hey," said Fabian.

"Can I talk to you?" Asked Nina.

"Of course," said Fabian.

"I'll leave you guys alone," said Eddie.

Eddie got up and left the room. Nina sat down on Fabian's bed.

"What is it?" Asked Fabian.

"Gran is not doing well," said Nina.

"What's wrong with her?" Asked Fabian.

"I don't know exactly, but the doctor said she only has a few weeks left," said Nina.

"What?" Asked Fabian.

Nina started to cry and Fabian gave her a hug to comfort her.

"She's dying Fabian, my gran is dying," said Nina.

"No, that's not gonna happen," said Fabian.

"But we can never do the tasks within a few weeks," said Nina.

"We can and we will. We're gonna make your grandma better," said Nina.

"Do you really think?" Asked Nina.

"No, I'm sure of it. I won't give up until your grandma is better," said Fabian.

Nina dried her tears and held Fabian tight. At that same time Aaron entered the room and Nina and Fabian let go of each other.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you," said Aaron.

"What's up Aaron?" Asked Fabian.

"We need to have a club meeting," said Aaron.

"Now?" Asked Fabian.

"Yes now, it's an emergency," said Aaron.

Nina and Fabian got up and followed Aaron to Nina and Amber's room. When they entered the room, they saw the rest of the club. Nina, Fabian and Aaron sat down with the rest of the club.

"Thanks for coming," said Aaron

"Why do we've this emergency meeting?" Asked Nina.

"We've got a problem, someone has been eavesdropping on us," said Aaron.

"What?" Asked Patricia.

"Yes, I found a mic in Amber's scarf and that's the kind of mic that you can use to listen in on people," said Aaron.

"Are you sure?" Asked Patricia.

Yes, when it comes electronics I know what's going on, said Aaron.

"But who would do such a thing? Asked Nina.

"Jerome, said Amber.

"Jerome? Jerome will never do such a thing," said Alfie.

"Are you sure about that?" Asked Aaron.

"Jerome is my best friend, I know him," said Alfie.

"That's why Alfie, you know how far he can go," said Aaron.

"Why do you think it's Jerome?" Asked Nina.

"Jerome gave me the scarf and there was the bug in it," said Amber.

"Where is that bug now?" Asked Fabian.

"In a box filled with cotton pads and hidden under my sweaters," said Amber.

"Okay what should we do now?" Asked Nina.

"We need to make sure it was Jerome eavesdropping on us," said Aaron.

"How are we going to find out?" Asked Patricia.

"I know something what we can do the trap him," said Aaron.

"You can do that?" Asked Fabian.

"Yes, but then I need your help Alfie," said Aaron.

"What do you need me to do?" Asked Alfie.

"Do you have these items or do you know how to get them?" Asked Aaron.

Aaron handed Alfie a note and Alfie read it.

"Yeah, I got all these items, said Alfie.

"Bring to me to later," said Aaron.

"Okay, while Aaron is working on that, we need to get on with getting the ingredients," said Fabian.

"But wait when Aaron is busy, how is he supposed to find an ingredient?" Asked Amber.

"I'll do it, I've already found mine, then I'll look for Aaron's," said Patricia.

"Well we know what to do," said Fabian.

"Sibuna," said Aaron, while he did the Sibuna gesture.

"Sibuna," said the rest of the club, while they did The Sibuna gesture.

The club concluded the meeting and all went to their own rooms.

The next morning. The residents were having breakfast. Joy entered the living room and gave Otis a kiss and this surprised the residents

"You just kissed him," said Eddie.

"Yes, Otis is my boyfriend," said Joy.

"Since when?" Asked Eddie.

"Since yesterday, said Joy.

"Did I miss something?" Asked Eddie

"Otis is the secret admirer," said Fiona.

"Yes," said Otis.

"So you wrote all those cheesy love letters," said Jerome.

"Yes," said Otis.

"I didn't think they were cheesy at all, I actually thought they were very sweet," said Joy.

"And I think it's cool that a boy can to express himself like this," said Patricia.

"Yeah more guys should do that," said Fiona.

"I will never write such letters," said Jerome.

"You won't? Not even if you really like a girl?" Asked Mara.

"Well maybe if it was a really special girl," said Jerome.

"You see, maybe every boy has a girl in their lives that turned them a bit cheesy," said Mara.

The residents continued to with their breakfast and then went to school.

While the residents were at school, Victor had gone to the bank.

"Hello Victor," said the bank manager.

"Hello Mr. Smith," said Victor.

"What can I do for you?" Asked Mr. Smith.

"I want to withdraw my savings, everything," said Victor.

"Everything? Are you sure?" Asked Mr. Smith.

"Yes," said Victor.

Mr. Smith looked at Victor's bank account on the computer.

"And?" Asked Victor.

"I'm afraid I've bad news for you Victor," said Mr. Smith.

"What?" Asked Victor.

"Looks like you've no money left at all," said Mr. Smith.

"Impossible, I didn't touch that account," said Victor.

"No, that's right, but you've an investment account and your shares are worth nothing anymore," said Mr. Smith.

"How is that possible?" Asked Victor.

"You knew beforehand that this way of saving was dangerous?" Asked Mr. Smith.

"Yes... but... there must be some way to get money," said Victor.

"I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do for you," said Mr. Smith.

"This is not possible! This is not fair!" Shouted Victor.

"That's how the system works," said Mr. Smith.

"Well then it is an outrageous and worthless system!" Shouted Victor.

Victor got up and angrily walked out of Mr. Smith's office. Mr. Smith picked up his phone and called Raven.

"Hello," said Raven.

"With Smith, Victor just left and told him what you asked me," said Mr. Smith.

"Good," said Raven.

"He wasn't happy about it, but I don't think he's coming back," said Mr. Smith.

"Very good work," said Raven.

Suddenly there was a knock and Victor came back into the office. Mr. Smith hung up the phone.

"Excuse me, I just wanted to apologize for just reacting a little too unfairly," said Victor.

"Apology accepted," said Mr. Smith.

"I was wondering if there might be another option? For example, can I get a loan?" Asked Victor.

"No, I'm sorry Victor but in your position it is impossible to loan money," said Mr. Smith.

"What kind of nonsense is that? If you can't loan money when you need it, when can you?" Asked Victor.

"Sorry I didn't make up the rules," said Mr. Smith.

"It's outrageous!" Shouted Victor.

"I hope you can solve problems," said Mr. Smith.

"Well that won't be thanks to you!" Shouted Victor.

Victor stormed out of the office again. Mr. Smith picked up his phone and called Raven again.

"Sorry about hanging up on you like that, but he did came back," said Mr. Smith.

"Doesn't matter anymore, Victor doesn't have a leg to stand on. It won't be long before we've completely destroyed him," said Raven.

Raven hung up the phone with a wicked grin on his face.

A few hours later. Joy and Otis were walking down the hall when they were approached by Ms. Delaney.

"Joy, Otis," said Ms. Delaney.

"Hi Ms. Delaney," said Joy.

"What is it? Asked Otis

"I spoke to the publisher of Wallace Grey and she told me that he is going to stop writing and that he is going to move to France," said Ms. Delaney.

"That would be correct," said Otis

"What happened during that interview?" Asked Ms. Delaney.

"We brought out his true self," said Otis.

"Okay, but do you've anything for the school newspaper?" Asked Ms. Delaney.

"No, sorry Ms. Delaney," said Joy.

"Well, then we'll have to come up with something else," said Ms. Delaney.

"Yes," said Joy.

"Ms. Delaney walked over to her classroom and Joy and Otis both laughed.

"So he really did decide to follow his true dream," said Joy.

"Yes, apparently he really did, said Otis.

"I just wanted to say thank you," said Joy.

"For what?" Asked Otis

"That you stood up for me yesterday," said Joy.

"No biggie," said Otis.

"Yes, it's a biggie, you stood up for me, even you heard me said all those horrible things about you," said Joy.

"Joy, that dingus had it coming," said Otis.

"But still thank you for that," said Joy.

"No, problem," said Otis.

"I think you're sweet," said Joy.

"I think you're sweet too," said Otis.

Joy and Otis kissed each other and then walked hand in hand to their next class.

Later that day. School was over and the Anubis residents were back home. The club was in Nina and Amber's room.

"What is this doing here?" Asked Fabian, as he was about to pick up a siren.

"Don't touch it," said Aaron.

"What is it?" Asked Patricia.

"This is our alarm," said Aaron.

"What kind of alarm?" Asked Nina.

"Our eavesdropping alarm. Look I've linked the siren to the microphone and when the siren lights up, then we know that someone is eavesdropping on us," said Aaron.

"And then?" Asked Nina.

"And then we go over to our plan," said Amber.

"And you think this going to work?" Asked Fabian.

"But before Aaron could answer, the siren started to light up. Aaron and Amber put their plan into action. The club sat down on the floor.

"Are you ready for it?" Asked Aaron.

"Yes," said Amber.

Aaron handed the microphone to Nina, who held it close to Amber. Alfie held out some cue cards and Amber read them.

"I'm telling you to go away! I do not want to see you anymore! No, I don't want to talk anymore! We've talked enough! Go away! What are you doing? No do not do that!" Shouted Amber.

Jerome heard everything and thought Amber was in danger, not knowing that wasn't real. Jerome took off the headphones and stormed upstairs. Jerome opened the door of the room of Nina and Amber and saw the club. The club knew for sure now, Jerome was the one eavesdropping on them.
