House of Chemistry:

Patricia and Eddie were sitting in the restaurant with Mr. Sweet and Ms. Delaney and had just learned that they were a couple.

"So you two are together?" Asked Patricia.

"Yes," said Ms. Delaney.

Patricia turned to Eddie and grabbed arm and dragged out his chair to a corner of the restaurant.

"And you knew this?" Asked Patricia.

"Yes," said Eddie.

"And you knew that Ms. Delaney would come here?" Asked Patricia.

"Yes," said Eddie.

"And you don't tell me?" Asked Patricia.

"I didn't mean to make you more nervous," said Eddie.

"And you think it's better this way?" Asked Patricia.

"Sorry," said Eddie.

"What do you actually think of this?" Asked Patricia.

"I don't mind it, Ms. Delaney is cool and she makes my father happy," said Eddie.

Mr. Sweet walked over the Patricia and Eddie

"Patricia I understand it's a little awkward having dinner with your principal and your French teacher, but tonight you shouldn't see us like this, okay," said Mr. Sweet.

"I will try," said Patricia.

The waiter came over with the menus and handed them over. Despite what Mr. Sweet said, Patricia felt a little uncomfortable.

Back at the house. Jerome walked into his room and smelled the sting spray. Jerome quickly left the room. At the same time Alfie walked up to Jerome.

"Bah what's that stench?" Asked Jerome.

"Yes, Victor has been in our room and sprayed the whole room with insecticide," said Alfie.

"And now? We can't sleep in our room, can we?" Said Jerome.

At the same time Victor came walking by.

"And why can't you sleep in your room?" asked Victor.

"Victor our whole room is full of that poison, if we inhale that it's no good," said Jerome.

"Nonsense, you're just a bunch of weaklings," said Victor.

Vera who heard the conversation walked over the Victor and the two boys.

"Victor I heard your conversation and I agree with the boys. We don't want complaints from the parents about letting their kids sleep in rooms full of poison," said Vera.

"No, I don't think that's good for business Victor," said Alfie.

"What do you propose?" Asked Victor.

"I don't know," said Jerome.

"I do have a solution, said Vera.

"Tell me Vera, said Victor.

"Alfie you sleep with Aaron and Otis in the room and Jerome you with Fabian and Eddie. They probably have sleeping bags that you can borrow, said Vera.

"I think that's a good idea, said Alfie.

"And let's open the window so it can air and early in the morning I wash your covers and pillows, said Vera.

"So that's solved," said Victor

Victor walked back to his office.

In the meantime, Fabian had gone to Nina and Amber's room.

"Nina can I come in?" asked Fabian.

"Yeah sure, come in," said Nina.

Fabian gave Nina a quick kiss and sat on her bed.

"I think I've an idea to find our ingredients," said Fabian.

"What is it?" Asked Nina.

"My uncle's shop," said Fabian.

"Do you think you will find the ingredients there?" Asked Nina.

"Maybe my uncle has a lot of stuff in his shop," said Fabian.

"And what if the ingredients are not there?" Asked Nina.

"Then maybe I hope to find a book that can help to give answers," said Fabian.

"Good plan. When are you going?" Asked Nina.

"Now," said Fabian.

"Now?" Asked Nina.

"Yes, but then you've to help me sneak out of the house and help me get back in later," said Fabian.

"I don't know if this is such a good plan anymore," said Nina.

"Nina, my uncle's shop might be the only place we can get answers," said Fabian.

"Okay, but promise me you'll be careful," said Nina.

"Okay I promise," said Fabian.

A few minutes later. Nina and Fabian had crept downstairs. They saw Vera walking upstairs with a cup of coffee. Nina and Fabian walked into the kitchen. Nina opened the patio door and Fabian walked out.

"I'll call as soon as I get back," said Fabian.

"Okay," said Nina.

Fabian sneaked away and Nina closed the door and went back upstairs.

Back at the restaurant. Patricia still was feeling uncomfortable with the idea that she's having dinner with her teachers.

"I must say I was somewhat surprised to find that Edison and you have a certain sympathy for each other...," said Mr. Sweet.

"Dad please don't," begged Eddie.

"Sorry," said Mr. Sweet.

"It's okay," said Patricia.

"I can imagine you were very surprised when you found out that I'm Eddie's father, said Mr. Sweet.

"Yes it was quite surprising," said Patricia.

"Yes, because we agreed when Eddie came here that we wouldn't let anyone know we're father and son at school. Edison is having a hard time with it," said Mr. Sweet.

"Don't start about it again," said Eddie.

"But he's just as stubborn as his father, but he has a very different taste," said Mr. Sweet.

"Sorry I've to...," said Patricia.

Patricia got up and accidentally threw the glass of wine over Mr. Sweet's pants. Patricia rushed out of the restaurant. Eddie wanted to go after her, but Mr. Sweet stopped him. Patricia had rushed out and tried to call Joy. Patricia was emotional that she began to cry.

"Patricia, are you crying? Asked Mr. Sweet, as he came walking out of the restaurant.

"Mr. Sweet listen, sorry I understand that I am the ideal girl for your son, I understand. But if I had to pick my ideal father-in-law, you wouldn't be in the top five," said Patricia.

Mr. Sweet started to laugh.

"Not in the top five, I've to remember that one," said Mr. Sweet.

Patricia laughed quietly along with Mr. Sweet.

"Patricia, if for a moment tonight you have had the impression that I have something against you, I am very sorry. I've a bad habit of saying the wrong things at the wrong time. And Eddie's mother also found that very annoying," said Mr. Sweet.

"It's okay," said Patricia.

"I trust Eddie and if he thinks you're special and he thinks you are, then you must be special too," said Mr. Sweet.

Suddenly a waiter came running with clean pants for Mr. Sweet.

"Sorry. Sorry about that wine all over your pants. I messed up the whole dinner," said Patricia.

"No, I've got a pair of dry pants after all," said Mr. Sweet.

"But it isn't really a nice pair," said Patricia.

"Can we try again? for Eddie?" Asked Mr. Sweet.

"Yes," said Patricia.

Patricia and Mr. Sweet walked back into the restaurant and sat down with Eddie and Ms. Delaney again.

Back at the house a few hours later. Nina couldn't sleep and walked downstairs, but was seen by Vera.

"Nina?" Asked Vera.

"Vera," said Nina.

"What are you doing out of bed?" Asked Vera.

"I couldn't sleep," said Nina.

"Why can't you sleep?" Asked Vera.

"I've got a lot of things on my mind," said Nina.

"Come sit down," said Vera.

Nina walked with Vera. Nina sat down at the table and Vera made some hot chocolate. A few minutes later, Vera walked into the living room with two cups of chocolate milk.

"Here you go," said Vera, as she handed Nina a cup.

"Thank you," said Nina.

"What are you all thinking about?" Asked Vera.

"My grandma," said Nina

"Your grandmother?" Asked Vera.

"Yes, she's in a coma and a few days ago the doctor said she might but probably won't make it this month. And she's the only family I've got left," said Nina.

"Oh you poor child. I know exactly how you feel, all alone in the world. When I was about your age, my mother died. And then I went from foster home to foster home," said Vera.

"Was there no family at all to take care of you?" Asked Nina.

"I never knew my father and my mother's family wanted nothing to do with me," said Vera.

"That's so mean," said Nina.

"But it turned out all right with me. And you're going to be fine too, really. One day you will meet someone who gives you reason to live," said Vera.

"What do you mean?" Asked Nina.

"A home where you always feel safe. Someone who will do anything for you and you for him, for him I would give my life," said Vera.

Nina didn't understand Vera's story anymore and looked at her confused.

"What were we talking about again?" Asked Vera.

"The chocolate milk. Let's taste the chocolate," said Nina.

"Yes," said Vera.

Nina took a sip of the chocolate milk and seemed to like it. Suddenly Amber was in the living room.

"Nina," said Amber.

"Amber what are you doing here? Asked Nina.

"I woke up because I needed to use the bathroom and I saw your bed was empty so then I went to see if you were here and here you are," said Amber.

"Would you also like a cup of hot chocolate milk?" Asked Vera.

"No thank you," said Amber.

"Too bad," said Vera.

"Nina can I talk to you for a moment?" asked Amber.

"Yes," said Nina.

"In private," said Amber.

Nina got up and followed Amber into the hallway.

"What is it?" Asked Nina.

"I don't trust that woman," said Amber.

"She's very nice," said Nina.

"Yes too nice if you know what I mean," said Amber.

"Amber some people are very nice because they are very nice," said Nina.

"Some people are acting nice for an alternative motive. Just like my step monster that's the worst kind," said Amber.

"Your what?" Asked Nina.

"My step monster, when my father was around she was very nice, but once he was gone she became a monster," said Amber.

"I get it," said Nina.

"What did that woman want from you?" Asked Amber.

"Nothing, I couldn't sleep because all the time I have to think about my grandmother and about what the doctor told me and Vera comforted me because she is sweet," said Nina.

"Yes, way too sweet, even Victor thinks she's sweet, now alarm bells start ringing in my head," said Amber.

"And I'm worried about Fabian too, I hope he's all right," said Nina.

"Nina, it's Fabian, he's the smartest person I know and he can take care of himself very well," said Amber.

At the same time Vera walking down the hallway.

"Is everything all right?" Asked Vera.

"Yes," said Nina.

"Nice, then I'll go home, see you tomorrow girls," said Vera.

"See you tomorrow," said Nina.

Vera walked to the front door and left the house. Nina and Amber were about to walk back upstairs when Nina heard her phone. Nina checked her phone and saw Fabian calling her.

"Fabian is calling me," said Nina.

"Maybe he's back," said Amber.

Nina and Amber walked to the kitchen and saw Fabian standing by the door. Nina opened the door and Fabian entered the house.

"And?" Asked Nina.

"I've found the ingredients," said Fabian.

"Really?" Asked Nina.

"Yes," said Fabian.

"Oh then we can fulfill the love step," said Nina.

"Let's get back to our rooms quickly before Victor sees us," said Fabian.

"Well then you are in bad that Jerome is in your room," said Amber.

"What is he doing in my room?" asked Fabian.

"Victor covered his entire room with insecticide," said Nina.

"So he had to go to and stay in my room?" asked Fabian.

"Unfortunately yes," said Amber.

Nina and Amber went back to their room and Fabian quietly to his.

A few hours later and Patricia and Eddie came home, but when they came home Victor was standing at the top of the stairs.

"I heard a pin drop here two hours ago. You are late," said Victor.

"Sorry, we had dinner and we lost track of time," said Eddie.

"Spare me your excuses. I warned you, this time you're going to pay heavily," said Victor.

"Not too heavy I hope? If these two are late tonight, it's my fault. Unfortunately it was too nice to go home," said Mr. Sweet, as he and Ms. Delaney entered the house.

"Well for this one time I will not punish you. But quickly to your rooms," said Victor.

"Thank you Mr. Sweet," said Patricia.

"Yeah thanks dad," said Eddie.

Patricia and Eddie each went to their own rooms. Mr. Sweet and Mrs. Delaney left the house again, and Victor went to his office.

The next night the club had sneaked down into the cellar. The club entered the secret room.

"Okay everyone has his or her ingredient with them?" Asked Fabian.

"Yes," said the club in unison.

"What should we do now?" Asked Amber.

"Now we pour the ingredients into the tubes," said Fabian.

The club picked up the ingredients. Nina uncapped the coal tar and a foul odor came out of the vail.

"Oh that smell," said Aaron.

"That stinks," said Amber.

"Pinch your nose and pour your ingredient into the tube, said Fabian.

The club each poured an ingredient into the tubes and it all ended up in the mix tube.

"Nothing is happening," said Amber.

"We've to wait for it to turn orange/gold," said Fabian.

"Orange/gold? This no orange/gold, this more like green/brown swampy color," said Amber.

"And it stinks, said Alfie.

Suddenly the brew started bubbling and slowly turned orange/gold. The wall began to change and new hieroglyphs appeared on the wall.

"Look!" Said Amber.

"New hieroglyphs," said Aaron.

"What does it say?" Asked Nina.

"It says something about a stone, burn under an open sky, burn to a color," said Fabian, as he translated the hieroglyphs.

"What color?" Asked Aaron.

"The color of Ra," said Fabian.

"And what kind of stone?" Asked Amber.

"A gemstone," said Fabian.

"Burn a gemstone to the color of Ra," said Aaron.

"Can't it once in English," complained Amber.

"But this is the locket and this is the stone from the locket," said Nina.

"Yes, you're right," said Patricia

"Of course we have to burn the stone and put it back in the wall," said Fabian.

"And then?" Asked Alfie.

"And then we have a time," said Fabian.

"Then we should light a nice fire," said Nina.

"We need hardwood. And I already know how we're going to get it," said Aaron.

"How?" Asked Amber.

"This table is made of Plane tree wood and that burns for a while," said Aaron, as he turned around and looked at the table.

"And then here must be were we need put the the stone in the wall," said Fabian.

"The Ankh! The Ankh is gone," said Nina, as she noticed that the Ankh wasn't standing on the table anymore.

What was the club supposed to do now? The Ankh had disappeared again. Would the club find out that Jerome is the thief? And will the club succeed in fulfilling the new task?
