House of Opera:
The club was still in the secret room and Nina had just found out that the Ankh was gone.
"What did you say?" Asked Patricia.
"he Ankh, it's gone," said Nina.
"What?!" Said Amber.
"But how is that possible?" Asked Patricia.
"Victor," said Fabian.
"Do you think so?" Asked Aaron.
"Who else could've done it?" Asked Fabian.
"Vera," said Amber.
"Vera? She doesn't know nothing about the mystery," said Patricia.
"Yes, that isn't logical Amber. Plus Victor makes much more sense, he also searches for the secret room," said Fabian.
"And if he has the Ankh that means that he has found the room," said Nina.
"I'm telling you guys, Vera has something to do with it, that woman is bad news," said Amber.
The club ignored Amber's suspicions about Vera. The club left the secret room and went back to their own rooms.
The next morning. The residents were sitting at the table eating breakfast. Vera walked into the living room with a large gold envelope.
"Otis this one was just delivered for you," said Vera.
"For me?" Asked Otis.
"Yes, your name is on it," said Vera.
Vera handed Otis the envelope. Otis looked at the envelope.
"What kind of letter will there be in that envelope?" Asked Joy.
"No idea. There's only one way to find out," said Otis.
"Open it, hurry up," said Joy.
"No, you will have to do that later, you've to go to school now, said Vera.
Otis put the envelope in his bag. The residents got up and walked to the door. Vera began to clear the table while Amber looked at her with a untrusting look, as Amber still believed that Vera is the one who stole the Ankh.
A few moments later and the residents were at school. The club was in a classroom and had an emergency meeting.
"Guys this is bad, we've lost the Ankh," said Nina.
"And it's not the first time we lost it," said Aaron
"Okay who do we think has it? Asked Nina.
"I say Victor, said Fabian.
"That's the most logical suspect, said Patricia.
"I'll keep saying it, Vera has something to do with it, said Amber.
"Amber that doesn't make sense, so be serious," said Fabian.
"I'm being serious," said Amber.
"And what about Jerome?" Asked Aaron
"Do you think Jerome has the Ankh?" Asked Nina.
"It's a possibility, he's bugged us and it won't be the first time he's after the Ankh," said Aaron.
"Aaron has a good point there," said Patricia.
"What would Jerome do with the Ankh?" Asked Alfie.
"Sell for a lot of money of course," said Amber.
"But Jerome has no knowledge of that the Ankh is still intact, he thinks the Ankh has melted," said Alfie.
"And who says he believes that, we also tried it with Victor and he found out it was a lie," said Aaron.
"I don't think Jerome has anything to do with it," said Alfie.
"You've to admit Alfie, that Jerome is capable of many things when it comes to money and wealth and you know it too," said Nina.
"And who's to say it wasn't that ghost?" Asked Alfie.
"Are you talking about Amneris?" Asked Nina.
"Yes," said Alfie.
"She just needs our help to get to Tutankhamun, so that wouldn't be logic that she would steal the Ankh," said Nina.
"Plus she is a ghost, so she wouldn't be able to steal the Ankh anyway," said Aaron.
"Pretty scary idea that Trudy was right all along, so there really is a ghost in our house," said Amber.
"Guys what do we do now?" Asked Alfie.
"We must continue with the next task," said Fabian.
"But the Ankh is gone, said Amber.
"That has not stopped us before, then we also did the tasks and we succeeded," said Fabian.
"Fabian is right," said Aaron.
"Yes, we must burn the stone of the locket to the color of Ra," said Nina.
But before the club could proceed with their meeting, the bell rang and the rest of the students entered the classroom and class started.
In the meantime in the house. Vera was cleaning up when Victor came walking towards her.
"Hello Vera," said Victor.
"Hello Victor," said Vera.
"I've something for you, said Victor.
"What is it? Asked Vera.
Victor gave Vera the opera ticket.
"Don Giovani, my favorite," said Vera.
"Yes, I know," said Victor.
"I can't take this, this must have cost you a lot of money," said Vera.
"You're worth it Vera," said Victor.
'But Victor," said Vera.
"But actually I've two tickets and so hoped we could go together," said Victor.
But before Vera could answer, letters fell through the letterbox. Victor picked up the letters and saw that they were more bills.
"What is it Victor? Asked Vera.
"More bills, said Victor
"Oh, that's not good isn't? asked Vera.
"No, it's not," said Victor.
"You know that, I've some good news for you, I'm going to the opera with you this Friday, said Vera.
"Really?" Asked Victor.
"Yes," said Vera.
Victor felt happy and even started to smile. With a big smile on his face, Victor walked back to his office.
A few hours later. Joy was at her locker and tucked away some books. Otis walked over to Joy. Otis gave Joy a hug, lifting her on a twirled her around.
"What was that for?" Asked Joy, while Otis put her down.
"Well just because I'm happy," said Otis.
"And why are you so happy?" Asked Joy.
"Because of this," said Otis, as he took the letter out of his bag.
"The letter? What's in it?" Asked Joy.
"Read for yourself", said Otis.
Otis handed Joy the letter and she immediately began to read. Joy hadn't even read the first line when she hugged Otis.
"OMG you won the first price," said Joy.
"Did you also read what I won?" Asked Otis.
"No, I stopped as soon as I read that you won the first price," said Joy.
"Well then I'll just tell you," said Otis.
"Tell me, come on tell me," said Joy.
"I won six tickets to Southport Pleasureland," said Otis.
"What? That's great," said Joy.
"Yes and not only that I can also just spend a whole night there," said Otis.
"A whole night at an amusement park?" Asked Joy.
"Yeah, I've always wanted to do that on my birthday, as long as I can remember," said Otis.
"But wait, I didn't even know you entered a contest," said Joy.
"I had actually forgotten until I read that I had won," said Otis.
"And who are you all going to take to the amusement park?" Asked Joy.
"Well I thought to go with the boys, you know guys trip," said Otis.
"Oh," said Joy, with a sad look on her face.
"Of course not, you don't think I keep my girlfriend away from something like that, do you?" Asked Otis, in teasing way.
"So I can go with you?" Asked Joy.
"Of course. I even thought of going with the school paper staff," said Otis.
"Well that's a good idea," said Joy.
Joy and Otis kissed and walked hand in hand to their next class.
Two hours later and school was over. Jerome and Mara were at their lockers, putting away their books.
"I've got school paper meeting now, I'll see you at home," said Mara.
"Okay, I'll see you at home," said Jerome.
Mara grabbed her bag and walked to the computer lab. Suddenly, Jerome's phone rang and Jerome answered.
"Hello you're speaking with Jerome Clarke," said Jerome.
"Jerome, it's me," said Mr. Clarke.
"Dad?" Asked Jerome.
"Yes," said Mr. Clarke
"Why this call? Is something wrong?" Asked Jerome.
"Yes, I've got some pretty big news," said Mr. Clarke.
"What is it?" Asked Jerome.
"This Saturday it will be decided whether I will be released," said Mr. Clarke.
"Wow this Saturday already," said Jerome.
"Yes," said Mr. Clarke
"Is there anything I can do?" Asked Jerome.
"I'd love it if you and Poppy to be there," said Mr. Clarke.
"Of course Dad. What time is it?" Asked Jerome.
"It's quite late and may go on until early Sunday morning," said Mr. Clarke.
"But what time exactly? Asked Jerome.
"It starts at 10 p.m.," said Mr. Clarke
"That's weird time," said Jerome.
"I know," said Mr. Clarke.
"Don't worry dad, Poppy and I'll be there for you," said Jerome.
"Thank you," said Mr. Clarke.
"Should I tell Poppy or are you going to call her?" Asked Jerome.
"She'll come over here later this afternoon and then I'll tell her," said Mr. Clarke.
"Sorry I didn't come by recently. I've been busy with things," said Jerome.
"I get that, that's why I called you to tell you," said Mr. Clarke
"I'll see you soon Dad," said Jerome.
"I'll see you soon my son," said Mr. Clarke.
Jerome's father hung up the phone. Jerome knew he had to speed up finding the treasure now.
A few minutes later in the computer lab. Mara, Patricia, Fiona and Eddie were already there and a few seconds later Joy and Otis entered the computer lab.
"Hey guys," said Joy.
"Well we're almost complete, Ms. Delaney isn't here, but she said we should start without her," said Mara.
"Wait, before we get started I want to tell you guys something first," said Otis.
"What's up Otis?" Asked Mara.
"I won six tickets to Southport Pleasureland," said Otis.
"That is amazing," said Fiona.
"Yes, it's," said Otis.
"And how did you win it?" Asked Fiona.
"I entered a photo contest for a few months," said Otis.
"And you forgot that?" Asked Eddie.
"I was busy with something else," said Otis.
"And that something else was anonymously writing love letters to Joy," said Eddie.
"Yep, that was it," said Otis.
"And when you go to the amusement park?" Asked Fiona.
"This Saturday and I'm taking you guys with me," said Otis.
"All right," said Eddie.
"That's super sweet of you Otis," said Fiona
"But Otis had another good idea," said Joy.
"Yes, I was thinking of filming everything and then trying out all the rides and giving them a score and then putting that online. And what it's like to spend all night in an amusement park," said Otis.
"And then we can also write a super nice piece for the paper version," said Joy.
"I think that's a great idea of yours Otis," said Mara.
"Thank you Mara," said Otis.
Then I can cross off my first item off the list right away. Front page idea for the school paper, but thanks to Otis, we now have something," said Mara.
The school staff newspaper continued their meeting.
In the meantime in the house. Amber was in her room. Amber picked up her phone and punched in a number and waited for someone to answer.
"Hello, said the voice on the phone.
"Trudy, it's me," said Amber.
"Amber sweetie, how nice of you to call," said Trudy.
"Trudy I've something to talk with you," said Amber.
"Oh sweetie it's so great here," said Trudy.
"Yes, but Trudy...," said Amber, but Trudy interrupted her.
"I've done so many fun things and tomorrow I'm going water skiing," said Trudy.
"That sounds great Trudy, but…, said Amber, but Trudy interrupted her again
"And tonight I'm having another other samba class," said Trudy.
"Trudy listen to me, it's really important that you listen to me," said Amber.
"What is it my sweetie?" Asked Trudy.
"You were right there's a ghost in the house," said Amber.
"What?" Asked Trudy.
"Yes, I'm sorry I didn't believe you," said Amber.
"Amber sweetie it will be fine," said Trudy.
"You gotta come back Trudy, we need you and I miss you," said Amber.
"I miss you too my sweetie," said Trudy.
"No you don't understand, you've to come back as soon as possible because our new housemother is not who she says she is," said Amber.
"If Victor has faith her then there is nothing wrong with her," said Trudy.
"She's a threat, she's deceiver," said Amber.
"Amber sweetie it'll be fine and I'll be there as soon as I can, you just hold on," said Trudy.
"Thank you Trudy, you truly are the best," said Amber.
At that same time. Jerome had sneaked into the cellar and was in the secret room. Jerome saw that the wall had changed. Jerome grabbed his phone and took pictures of the wall. Jerome left the secret room and went to his room undetected. Jerome sent the photos to Mr. Griffin.
A few days later and it was Friday. Victor was at the concert hall. Victor was dressed in a smart suit and he was carrying a large bunch of flowers. Victor felt in his inner pocket of his jacket and picked up the ring that he was going to give to Vera. In the meantime, Vera was on her way to the concert hall when she got a call.
"Hello Julian," said Vera.
"The plans have changed, you must come here immediately," said Mr. Griffin
"But...," said Vera
"No buts, this is very important," said Mr. Griffin.
"I'm on my way," said Vera.
"Oh one more thing you need to do," said Mr. Griffin.
"What is it?" Asked Vera.
"You don't return to the house as the housemother, you're quitting immediately," said Mr. Griffin.
"Why do I need to that Julian?" Asked Vera.
"It's all part of my plan, trust me Vera," said Mr. Griffin.
Mr. Griffin hung up the phone. Vera put her phone away and walked away from the concert hall.
And meanwhile, Victor sat waiting for Vera, not knowing that she would not come and that she will not return to the house.
