Usual Disclaimer: I don't own Star Trek Voyager or anything associated with it, Paramount does!
Author's Note: I found these stored away, handwritten in a notebook from when I had just finished re-watching Voyager. They are a few of my favorite scenes from the show between the Captain and members of her crew, written from the character's perspectives. No plagiarism is intended; I just wanted to share my snippets and let you enjoy them if you want to! I'll post whenever I get time to type one up. Thank you, and please review!
A Captain's Heart
From "Muse"
Chakotay
It is not usual for her to have to lights on the ready room, especially not this late. It conveys a sense of rushed urgency; she has been working so hard on the rescue. Kathryn lives in the realm of hope and possibilities. There has always been a path forward, sometimes lit by the dimmest of stars, but she has always found it. He fears the news he brings will crush her spirit. His footsteps fall hesitant as he approaches her.

Her eyes burn from staring at screens and reading information all day and night. She has not slept since they went missing. She is half-curled, half-sitting on the ready-room couch when she calls for him to come and hears him walk in. Her body trembles, torn between preparing to be told the worst and hoping to be told the best.

He delivers the information as gently as he can and watches as more of the last flickers of hope drain from her eyes, to be replaced by quickly welling tears. She gazes down at the PADD while she listens. She visibly gathers herself before looking back up at him and dismissing him softly. He is reluctant to leave, but he senses her need to be alone right now.

Once the doors close behind him, the faint smell of tulips lingers in the air with her own tension. She looks down at the PADD again. It seems to tear at her, scream defiance in the face of hope. She turns back to the stars and covers her mouth to muffle the choked sob that escapes her lips.
Where are you?
I know this was a long time coming, but thank you as always for reading and reviewing!
