Chapter 2 - The Betrayal
I do not own Star Wars or Percy Jackson, Disney and Rick Riordan own them respectively.
The war against Gaia and the titans had been won, as their rewards Jason, Annabeth, Piper, and Leo received immorality, whilst Frank got his curse removed wishing to be free to live his life as per Hazel's final request, Percy had pleaded for the forgiveness of the traitorous gods as his reward, and as for the last member of the Seven; Hazel, well sadly Hazel had fallen in battle taking a spear that was headed towards Frank, still for her partake in the prophecy, and her valiant sacrifice she gained the isles of the blest as her reward.
A month of peace passed after the war ended before once more another began destroying the peace going & around camp destroying and trashing the memorials raised for those who fell in the battles, going as far as killing Peleus the guardian of the fleece.
Amidst all the chaos they were able to successfully make Percy appear responsible for the crimes he hadn't committed.
For a good while, everyone tried believing it wasn't him, and they did, after all, he was their hero, yet there was an unanswered question that was carried by the wind, yet weighed so heavily in their hearts; what happens to when a hero doesn't die a hero?
Yet though their hearts were troubled they remained faithful in his innocence, even when all the present evidence said otherwise.
They believed on until one fateful night while they all slept, the ground shook and groaned as if it were fighting itself, the lake and river roared, and the shadows grew ever larger, for the short span that it lasted the campers came to know fear until just like it had started the earth, the waters, and the shadows calmed, and all was silent, the campers could not fathom the source of this strange event, at least not til the heard the loud blast of the war horn, and they understood, this event had occurred from the border where Frank and Nico stood guard.
They geared up and rushed to the border, they expected to find an army of monsters, or perhaps a titan, or a giant, or even perhaps a rogue god, but no, what they found shook them to their core.
Surrounded by fissures in the earth, ice, and blood they found Percy, covered in blood, tears streaming down his blood-stained face, as he cradled Nico as an older brother would his little brother, his legendary blade riptide lay not that far from him also covered in blood, right next to where Frank lay on the ground lifeless as well, it was clear as day, both of them were dead, and their wounds were clearly that of a sword, Percy's sword.
It wasn't rocket science, they all pieced the small details together, Percy, their legendary hero, the man who had faced down titans, giants, and hordes upon hordes of monsters had just murdered two pivotal and powerful members of the previous wars, the hesitated they wanted to act but they knew not how to react to such a situation, after all even if they tried to how could they expect to stand against such a powerful opponent, one who had just slain their third most powerful demigod, and the other who wasn't as powerful but was still ranked amongst one of the more skilled demigods in both camps, so they did the only thing they could.
The younger demigods turned to the older demigods, the older demigods to their cabin counselors of whom many were veterans of the wars, and the counselors turned to the only one left to lead them, the second most powerful demigod to date Jason Grace.
Jason Grace was perturbed, his mind was going at one thousand miles trying to come to a conclusion, he couldn't believe that Percy would stoop to this level, yet all the evidence racked up to this, and it all made sense but he, what could he do, after all since they had recovered Percy and Annabeth from Tartarus, Percy's power had at least tripled, and so he hesitated.
And the campers witnessing this they too faltered.
During this time Percy regained his senses, he noticed the change in their demeanor, he knew they would demand his head, so he did the only thing he could think to do in this situation, he pulled riptide to him and rose steadily, every demigod present froze, was he going to attack them now, what was he about to do? this all ran through their minds all at once, what came next was completely unexpected.
Percy turned, and he ran.
That single action was what broke the last of those that still doubted no longer doubted, their hearts and minds were filled with rage, they could no longer deny that he in fact was responsible for EVERYTHING, they set off after him, wishing to exact "justice," but those few seconds they had faltered for were enough for Percy to get far ahead of them, chased after him but were unable to continue their pursuit as soon as Percy entered the lake.
They had all returned to camp from where they began sending off multiple search and capture parties to bring him to "justice", every single one of them failed, until exactly one month later, along the Canadian border, where Annabeth along with the last surviving members of the prophecy finally caught up to a tired and worn out Percy and they incapacitated him and dragged him back to Olympus before the council where they would raise the accusations against, the crimes presented included him the murder of Nico Di Angelo and Frank Zhang, multiple acts of vandalism terrorism within both camps, and finally the injury of dozens of demigods and satyrs.
And Percy, try as he may, could not present a viable counterargument in pro of his innocence after all the evidence was heavily stacked against him to the point where even he began to question his innocence, but he persisted nonetheless, yet in the end, they chose not to listen to his "baseless" pleas, and he was found guilty.
~PRESENT~DAY~
Percy (POV)
'Is this truly what it all comes down to in the end, all we've been through, all I've sacrificed, they truly don't believe my calls of innocence, instead, they accuse me of not just desecrating the memorials that I helped build for my fallen friends...but also of killing my brothers, Frank and Nico...but then again the evidence...it all clearly points to me...' I looked up to the last of the Seven who dragged me by my heavy celestial bronze shackles before the throne of Zeus to determine my fate, and in this moment of finality my mind can only process one thought, 'Hazel please forgive me.'
~TIME~SKIP~
'I kneeled before the gods, in chains, the majority vote was against me, the ones who had voted against my death had been a not that surprising few they were Apollo, Hera surprisingly enough, Hephaestus, Hermes, and Hestia, but they wouldn't be enough to shift the tides.'
I looked up just in time to see good'ol uncle Zeus pass the final judgment; proclaiming "you Perseus Jackson are hereby sentenced to death for the murder of two of the heroes of Olympus, and a multitude of crimes of which were presented today." he eyes were directly on mine, a mad glint adorned his bright electric blue eyes, which burned with an intensity I had never seen from him, it was bizarre.
As Zeus raised his arm and heaved his master bolt straight towards me time seemed to slow around me, I closed my eyes for what will definitely be the final time, 'it is truly ironic how the weapon that brought my introduction into this world is the one which will take me out of it, truly ironic.'
I could feel the master blot growing closer, the blinding light behind my eyelids growing brighter and brighter by the second as tiny arcs of electricity surged forward towards me, I was vaguely aware of someone cheering in the background, the smell of ozone heavy in the air, but these sensations faded instantly as I felt a warm tingling sensation spread forth from my chest outward to my extremities, the bright light from the Master Bolt lit up my vision even behind my closed eyes, and then, nothing.
3rd person (POV)
Percy was unknowingly floating among spiraling galaxies, and when he finally opened his eyes he became witness to this, all around him and as far as he could see, he saw stars and galaxies that shown in beautiful spectacles of colors, Percy was so busy looking around in shock wondering if he was dead, and in his shock, Percy failed to notice a mysterious woman that stood before him, and finally, as he looked up he came face to face with a beautiful woman unlike any other he has ever seen clothed in a flowing white robe with what appeared to be glinting with what appeared to be stars floating around in it...
Mystery Woman(Pov)
She giggled answering his thought saying "No Perseus, I assure you are not dead."
There you guys have it chapter two, new changes include some grammar editing and changing some not-so-minor details here and there.
