Chapter 5- The Test
Izuku was standing in the front gates of UA, dressed in the school's official uniform. He had dreamed of this moment almost his entire life and now it became a reality. It was almost time for his first class and he would have arrived sooner if his mother didn't bear-hugged him and cried tears of happiness for almost 1 hour straight, he loved the woman more than anything in the world but sometimes she could be a little too much.
He passed through the gates and started searching for his class. Soon enough, he found the one with the 1-A sign. When he entered he recognized a lot of faces the he saw during the practical exam, he fully expected them to want to tear him a new one since they had to take a other test because of him but what actually happened was the opposite.
"Dude you are the guy with the badass armor right."
"That was one of the most manly things I've seen. How did you do it!?"
"The way you took down the 0 pointer, AWESOME!"
Most of the guys came flocking to him, to either praise him or ask him about his armor, the girls were more quiet but they had a curious look on their eyes about him. Izuku was very uncomfortable in this situation, he was never the center of attention like this before.
"C-Can we talk later? I have to get to my seat."
In a rather nervous tone, Izuku excused himself and went to his seat. He started looking for a particular person but before he could do it the person found him first.
"Hi Midoriya."
"Ah, Uraraka. I see you decided to take the exam."
"Yeah. After all, someone had to keep a eye on you."
"HaHa."
That statement was more true than Izuku imagined. Uraraka still wanted to be a hero to help her parents but another reason for her to go to UA appeared: to see him again.
While the two of them were talking another person showed up almost out of nowhere.
"Izuku Midoryia! We meet again!"
"Oh. Hi Ida."
"I wanted to properly apologize for my rude behavior towards you during the exam! You were right! I hastily judged without even getting to know properly! And for that, I want to say SORRY!"
He apologized bowing in a 90 degree angle.
"It's, okay man you don't have to get all steamed up about it."
"THANK YOU! I really apprecia-Hey you, get your feet out of the table! This is a place of learning!"
"OH YEAH! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT FOUR-EYES!?"
You can probably already guess who Ida was talking to.
Izuku was vexed, but then again he kind of expect Bakugou to pass the exam. Even he had to admit the blond knew how to use his quirk.
Just then a mysterious voice said:
"Ah. So this the class I am gonna teach."
The voice came from a man inside a sleeping bag behind door. The students were all wondering how he managed to get there on that thing( Izuku included).
"Ugh. Since I am already here might as well start."
What came out of the sleeping bag was a very skinny and sleep deprived man in a scarf and a almost homeless-looking outfit.
"Hey. My name is Shoto Aizawa and I will be your homeroom teacher from now on."
"You are a teacher?"
The question was asked by a pretty girl in a pony-tail.
Aizawa responded in a menacing tone.
"Yes. You got a problem with that?"
"N-No sir."
"Great. Now for starters, put these on."
He put out a gym shirt out of nowhere and threw at the closest student to him, Izuku in this case.
"And then get your asses to the P.E grounds."
…
When they got to the grounds Aizawa explained that they were gonna do a quirk apprehension test and that they were gonna to be judged in physical exercises they practiced in middle school, with the twist being that they could use their quirks. And, because of the remarks of the students about how the test would be fun, he added that the one that got last place would be expelled.
Uraraka thought that the process was pretty unfair but didn't have the courage to speak up. Fortunately, someone else did that for her.
"Sensei, what about those that have quirks that are not compatible to the test and better yet what about those that are quirkless, like me."
Of course, it was Izuku.
"Are you questioning my methods boy."
Aizawa spoke in the most threatening voice he could muster, but Izuku wasn't even faced.
"No offence but yeah, a little."
The blunt response shocked not just the students but Aizawa himself.
"Even some pretty famous pro-heroes couldn't do that well in this test. For example, Thirteen's Black-Hole quirk is specialized for rescue mission but does nothing to enhance his physic. Midnight uses her quirk to knock out criminals but she can't run faster than a guy that literally has a engine for legs. Even your quirk Erasure only allows you neutralize another person's quirk for a limited period of time, aside from that you are practically quirkless yourself."
"How do you know about my quirk?"
"I know the quirk of all the heroes sir… Anyway all the heroes that I listed are some of the best heroes Japan has but I can guarantee that they all would be last in this test. By your own logic they aren't cut out to be heroes, isn't that right?"
Everyone was speechless not only because Izuku had the guts to talk back to a teacher like that but also because his argument had a lot of sense. Even Aizawa couldn't refute it but he wanted to crush the kid regardless.
"Okay kid. Then how about this? You and me have a little spar. If you win you automatically get first place and I forget about the whole expulsion thing. But if you lose you are expelled. Deal?"
"Deal."
He thought the kid would take a while to think about it but he responded immediately as if he was sure he would win, well he had another thing coming.
Aizawa told the students to get back so they would have space for the match.
"Oh! Forgot to ask. How do we decide the victor?"
"If the person gets knocked out or immobilized he is the loser."
"Ah, okay. Simple enough."
"Are you ready?"
"Yeah."
The second he said that Aizawa launched his scarf at him, in hopes to catch him off guard. He wanted to show the boy the difference in their experience. However Izuku wouldn't go down that easily, he jumped out the way of the scarf and ran towards Aizawa. The teacher controlled his scarf to hinder Izuku but everytime the kid slipped out of the way, not even reducing his speed in the slightest. When he was close enough he threw a punch directed to the gut, but Aizawa was a experienced fighter himself so he managed to block it. Izuku followed up with a high-kick to face but the teacher was able to duck and call his scarf back. Izuku did a back-flip to avoid it and get some distance.
Aizawa continued to launch his scarf at Izuku and he in turn continued to avoid it with somer-saults and flips. This continued for a while until Aizawa finally managed to catch Izuku's right arm and pull him towards him. He planned to tangle the kid once he got close enough, but all of that was according to Izuku's plan. He let himself get caught on purpose so Aizawa would lower his guard. When the scarf pushed him instead of resisting it he went with the flow by jumped off the ground towards Aizawa. The hero wasn't prepared for it, which allowed Izuku to plant a kick in his stomach. Izuku wouldn't let go of this opportunity so he started planting punches and kicks in various parts of the teachers body, at a speed so fast it almost created after-images. When Aizawa was disoriented enough the scarf started to losen-up and Izuku used the opportunity to judo-throw him on the ground face-first and stuck him in a very well placed arm-lock.
"If you try to resist, your arm will break in 2 different places."
Izuku didn't want the teacher to get seriously hurt, which is why he informed him and something told Aizawa that the kid wasn't kidding.
"Okay. Okay. You win."
Aizawa didn't love have his ass beaten by a kid but he was a good enough sport to admit when he lost.
Having secured his victory Izuku let go of the teacher and standed a hand to help him get back up, you know, to show there were no hard feelings. Aizawa took the hand and got back up.
"So… What about the bet."
"Sigh. I was hoping you would forget about it. Alright, you get first place."
"Nice!"
The class was mesmerized. The spar they saw looked like something out of a martial arts movie. The combat power that the two showed made every one of them realized that they were in a whole other. Well, everyone except-
"WHY DOES DEKU GETS FIRST PLACE JUST BECAUSE HE WAS A LITTLE BETTER THAN SOME WEAK-ASS TEACHER!"
Katsuki was livid. He was already furious that Midorya got first place in the written and practical exams and now he was getting first place again without even having to compete. In his eyes that was a heinous crime.
Aizawa on the other hand was almost jumping in happiness, although he didn't show it on his face. He desperately needed to vent his anger out and the perfect punching bag appeared.
"Okay, then. So how about you and me have a go. If you win you can spar with Midoriya for the first place."
"YOU ARE ON!"
If even Deku could take down that guy this would be a piece of cake, or so Katsuki thought.
When everything was ready Katsuki used his explosions to propel himself towards Aizawa. When he was close enough he extanded his hand to blast the teacher away but nothing happened. Katsuki panicked, he remembered Deku saying that Aizawa could nullify quirks but the professor didn't even move. That's when Katsuki noticed that the teacher's eyes were red now and that was the last thing he did as Aizawa's scarf completely trapped him. Aizawa wasn't satisfied though and he started swinging and bashing the kid around like a sack of potatoes. When he was done and freed Bakugou the boy was already knocked out.
The fight, if it could even be called that, lasted less than 30 seconds, which left most of them terrified of Aizawa who took down one of the most powerful students in their class like it was nothing. At the same time they started to wonder how strong really was Izuku if he could defeat Aizawa without even using his armor.
They waited a little for Bakugou to come to and when he finally did, he was very confused.
"What happened?"
"I beat your ass. And since you challenged my authority you are gonna be punished."
"WHAT!? But Deku did the same thing!"
"True. But he won the bet and you didn't."
"AH! So what now!?"
"Well, I can't expel you, at least not today, but I can certainly make your life hard. Two weeks of detention and since competition seems to be so important to you, you get last place in this exam."
"WHAT!? THAT'S-"
"Don't push it kid. I am having a really bad day."
The menacing look in his eyes told Katsuki that it'd be better if he backed down.
"Explosive-Kid, you go to the bench. The rest of you will be doing the test normally, and just so you don't slack off, the ones that are not on the to 5 will have to write a essay of 100 pages about the history of the hero system due to next week!"
The rest of the day went by with the students doing their best to get on the top 5. Izuku was already in the 1st position but the rest were, in order, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Uraraka and Ida.
(If you are wondering why Uraraka got a higher position than in the manga, is because in this version she trained herself more so she could absolutely pass and see Izuku again)
When they kids started going back to class and Aizawa was left alone he was approached by a gaunt man with a yellow suit(All Might of course).
"The kid beat your ass Aizawa."
"Shut up!"
"And he did it without even using his armor. If he had it the fight wouldn't even last second."
"SHUT UP!"
"Haha… All kidding aside, what do you think?"
"Sigh… I hate to admit, but the kid has the most potential I've seen in my life."
"I know. I knew it the moment I fought with him."
"You two fought? Interesting. How long did you take to beat the kid?"
"… I didn't."
"WHAT?!"
(Hey guys I am conflict about who to pair Izuku with in the Hero-Villain challenge, so I would you guys to decide who he should be paired with. My personal favorites are Momo and Uraraka, but that is just me)
