The Doctor wiped the tears from her eyes and pulled out of Yaz's arms, but she still winched at her side. "Why did they put you in that prison? What did they do to you?" Yaz asked carefully looking at River who was sitting down next to the Doctor now. The Doctor took a deep breath and wiped her tired eyes.
"I don't know. Something about…about my past maybe. A past that…. that. Why do you care? You thought I was dead for six months and you never came to save me," The Doctor snapped but her friends saw tears in her eyes. "Sorry," she muttered. "They didn't do anything to me. I was the one who…" The Doctor cut off and closed her amber eyes.
"You hurt yourself in that prison?" Ryan asked looking at Yaz who closed her eyes as well. The Doctor shook her head but when she opened her eyes, they saw that she was lying.
"Doc," Graham said standing in the doorway.
"I don't think…you would understand…I don't know who I am anymore and my…." The Doctor cut off again. Tears filled her eyes and this time River and Yaz pulled her into their arms.
A few minutes later Graham and Ryan left to get some lunch for the others. However, The Doctor didn't stop crying but she said nothing which worried Yaz and River. "She's never quiet," Yaz said after the Doctor fell asleep. "She's always rambling about something. I don't like this. She, hurt herself. Maybe not physically but mentally?" Yaz asked rubbing her eyes. River watched Yaz worry and soon watched the young woman break down in tears.
"She has been through more than you realize and maybe more than me. However, I think we need to save her now. She saved us," River said to Yaz who smiled with a small nod.
"Ok, let's save The Doctor," Yaz said with a brighter smile River smiled back as they both left the room to give the Doctor some space.
The next time the Doctor woke up she saw Yaz and River sitting there next to her. Yaz looked like she had been crying and River, well River looked happy to see her awake. "It's nice to see you sleeping sweetie," River said rubbing her hand through The Doctor's hair. The Doctor blinked and took a deep breath.
"Your still here?" The Doctor asked in a rare voice. Even though she was trying not to show weakness, but it was showing. 'You made them worried. That's why they are still here. They think you're weak you know.' The Doctor shook her head to get rid of those thoughts, but they still crept in.
"Of course. We are still a family. I will be here, and I know that Graham and Ryan will also," Yaz said making the Doctor smile, but she winched at her side. "What happened to your side. There's a nasty cut there?" Yaz asked looking at River who nodded gently at the Doctor even though she had no idea herself. The Doctor looked at Yaz and then to River, but she didn't say anything for a while.
"First night. First night in a prison. This was a new one. Okay, calm down. Your fam is safe. You've been through worse right?" The Doctor thought as she passed her new cell. Maybe even her new home. She just lost her home again and now….. The Doctor's thoughts were cut off when she heard a knock on the cell door.
"Hello Time Lord. Getting comfortable your new home?" a robot holding a clipboard asked wheeling inside the cell. The Doctor gave him a look and let out a breath.
"Why am I here?" she demanded. However, the robot just wheeled around her and then wheeled away. "I need to know. Tell me!" she demanded again however that was not the best thing to say because the robot grabbed her by her coat sleeve and wheeled her out of the cell. After what felt like hours she was dropped in a dark room. Pain went through her as she felt her head pound. The pain got worse when she felt a sharp blade pierce through her side. She tried not to cry out in pain, but it came out anyway.
"It seems Time Lords bleed," another voice said behind her. Her head felt like it was going to blow up before another pain went through her other side. "This is going to be fun," the voice said before the door closed behind her.
