The Shadow War has ended and the threat of Arkosaurus neutralised. With the timeline finally reset and stabilised once and for all, it is a time of celebration for Saurus City with the revival of the Greatest Championship of all!

11. Dr Z vs Blaze

Chapter 11

Dr Z vs Blaze

It was lunch time, and the families decided to make a change from Jurassic Junction and thus decided to have their meals at one of the biggest and most popular eateries in Saurus City, being Cretaceous Cuisines. Being one of the largest and most popular outdoor food courts around, located about 15min driving distance from the arena it appeared almost like a town square given its' massive size and the entrance being a large gate with a smoking volcano icon with its massive logo. It was managed by members of the Fire and Grass division where different cooking styles and cuisines were encircled around several seating booths with umbrellas above them with some of them being either outdoor displays or inside outlet dine ins. The area was divided in half with one half representing fire and the other grass.

On the fire side, it displayed a fiery festival of food while a main stage featured a fire performance where a pair of acrocanthosaurus stood on opposite sides of the stage, their trainer being a fire dancer held up his pole and twirled it around as his dinosaurs timed it perfectly firing a pair of fire balls at both ends as he spun the pole around. Behind them several other performers, being bongo players or female dancers in traditional skirts with pom poms waving them around, attracting quite a crowd with their passionate music and moves before it concluded with the fire dancer blowing fire to the sky and his 2 dinosaurs shooting a stream of flames to the sky ending it in a grand finale as many spectators applauded and cheered. One corner serving indian food, their main attraction being curry served in a large cauldron heated up by an alioramus as the harmonious aroma of meat and chopped vegetables was carried off by the heat of the flames and thus attracted many mouth watering customers as they awaited a bowl of their signature dish. There was also a chinese restaurant where the chefs were stir frying their food in massive woks, massive steam and smoke erupting from the cooking stations as a siamotyrannus added more fire to the fuel, while a yangchuanosaurus along with a chinese dressed waitress stepped out of the doors pushing out the crab and egg fried rice to a table where the family's meals were served to them and their little chibi were under the table. At a spanish section, an abelisaurus was seen barbecuing some ham over a bonfire while his trainer dressed in flamenco dance clothing while playing castanets to attract several watchers as some male performers played music in the background.

The grass division on the other hand had a much more calmer sanctuary for those seeking a more peaceful mealtime. Most of the sections were well suited for vegetarians and vegans alike, many of them even using meat substitutes that tasted so much like the original thing you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. Plus any sections that did serve anything related to animals like meat and eggs were done using animal feed that was organically grown or sustainably produced. As an added bonus, a few sections even featured some grass dinosaurs like olorotitan use emerald garden or nature's blessing to enable the vegetable or fruit seeds to sprout in patches of soil the moment they are planted and then allowing customers to take them home to help educate visitors the importance of food and why never to waste it. As for attractions, an tropical fruit juice bar featured some hula dancers from Hawaii were joined by a camptosaurus and brachylophosaurus swaying to the beat of the ukulele playing, an area serving japanese tea, sake and sweets (Made from natural and organic ingredients) had some geisha dancing gracefully with a fukuisaurus among them while a Balinese stand had a ceremonial dance followed by plenty of chanting, a female dancer in traditional attire along with a saurolophus and shantungosaurus moving with the music.

Needless to say, Cretaceous Cuisine as a whole was a food lover's paradise, mixing the fiery cooking techniques and passion along with nature's finest and purest produce for a most memorable mealtime. Along with the blending of many cultures around the world together in one place. The D Team families all sat together at their table captivated and amazed by the blending of so many cultures all in one place it was almost overwhelming an experience that they all smiled or gasped in awe, burning this wondrous once in a lifetime experience into their hearts and minds. This certainly made the meal even sweeter…..though for some it just may end up being on the sour side.

Spike and Dr Owen grinned with infatuation as they blushed red at some of the dancers like the geisha and hula dancers performing, even grinning like animals in heat, before freezing up tensely upon sensing a cold murderous aura emanating behind them. Spike twitched and turned around nervously only to have his soul jump upon seeing Aki shoot a rather murderous glare at him, which made the others snicker or chuckle in amusement, seeing Spike finally got busted for 'cheating' on her.

As Spike looked around frantically for a way to change the subject, he got the chance upon eying the kids who seemed to be eating rather slowly or just picking at their food with their utensils with little motivation or even life in their eyes. He blinked his eyes curiously and asked, "Say kids."

"Hmm?" Max and the others looked up, snapped out of their thoughts as they turned to Spike, as well as the other adults who were curious too.

"You've barely touched your food there, is something wrong?" Cretacia asked her son before widening her eyes and putting her hands on her cheeks in surprise, "You're not feeling sick are you?" She gasped worried.

Rex waved his arms out, "N…No it's not that mom!" He called out assuring her he was good, as well as trying to calm her down before she does something over the top in public. He then looked away sheepishly, feeling embarrassed to admit it, "It's just…well…." The others acted similarly as he did such as scratching their cheeks, whistling or looking rather uneasy.

It was then Jonathan realised what was up, as he put it together looking back on the recent match, "It's Ed isn't it?" He asked with a hunch, to which the kids found it hard to admit, till they sighed together.

"Yeah."

This surprised their parents, for they never thought they'd see the day they'd would be concerned with the Alpha Gang of all people given their past histories, especially Ed of all people given he wasn't the most spectacular or well known of the bunch.

"I…I mean we're not that close with him…" said Rex trying to defend himself and dignity before looking rather conflicted, "But still…."

"He didn't deserve what he went through," Zoe shook her head with pity, "Sure hope he gets better and it's nothing too serious."

Max too was a little unsure at first, before shaking his head with confidence, "Relax you guys. You worry too much." He said with a light smile as they eyed him curiously, "They're as tough as nails after all our many battles and shared history together." He said pumping his arm out, for the A Team to be done in so easily would kinda ruin their honour in a way if it made Craig look like he was stronger than they were.

"Max is right about that." Ancient then stated to back up his point.

"We've seen it ourselves, even back during the dinosaur ages too!" Cretacia then snickered as she recalled times they got into all kinds of mishaps such as being chased by a megalosaurus pair in the Jurassic, falling into the sea when trying to wrangle a futabasaurus, or tripping over rocks or large roots and then face planting into dino dung! She covered her mouth but easily failed to suppress her amusement, "In fact we've had so many funny fails from them I really ought to enter them in for a funniest home video contest one of these days." She snickered which made Jonathan sigh and facepalm in dismay while the others looked on.

"I'm not sure if we should be laughing about others' pain that much dear…." Sweatdropped Ancient…though her statement happened to get just the right reaction out of everyone as they soon began to snicker and giggle themselves.

"I'd like to see that one of these days!"

"Yeah, no way would I want to miss out on that!" Giggled Zoe and Rex as they seemed to forget their worries as everyone soon joined in the laughter even if it was over the Alpha Gang's misery and fails.

Still thinking about it there was truth to their words, "You guys are right, maybe we were worried about nothing." said Zoe feeling more assured and at ease.

"And you can be assured that Ed's going to be just fine." Cera then spoke up as they looked to her and her family, "The hospital he's in is under management of the Grass Division after all, so you can be sure that he'll be receiving TLC and the best medical service they can provide him." She assured them holding out an ok sign with her hand.

"That's good to know Cera." Dr Drake added feeling at ease too.

"With him being in such good hands what could go wrong?" Dr Owen added….unaware he was jinxing it.

(Meanwhile)

Not too far away from the Arena was a Large Hospital building known as Mesozoic Medical Centre. It was a tall and widespread building with a Lambeosaurus Head ornament right above its' main entrance wearing a nurse's cap and a hospital cross on it. Above on its rooftops were large solar panels which helped to trap sunlight to convert into green energy, followed with green roofing with flowery bushes and trees planted on various spaces above, no doubt to act as green spaces to give both the hospital workers and patients a restful experience. The building itself was practically green, made with eco bricks (Bottles or containers filled with plastic waste) and concrete either recycled from demolished structures or derived from sterilised wastewater sludge or dino faeces, highlighting the pinnacle of being resourceful. Medicines produced here were made using mainly natural ingredients such as from herbs grown on site and were also sold at the pharmacies located inside as well. Being set up for both people and dinosaurs alike, the hospital was divided into 2 sections with one hand dedicated to treating each.

Most doctors here used dinosaurs with healing abilities such as cryolophosaurus and leallynasaura, though not all jobs could be handled as easy as the swipe of a card, others needed more old fashioned methods of care too, not to mention said methods are ineffective when treating human related ailments. The dinosaur side had large operating rooms for major jobs like surgery to repair fractures or broken bones, with doctors operating on various jobs like repairing a stegosaurus' spinal plates or cleaning out an open wound in a patagosaurus' leg. For Tank thankfully despite the extent of her injuries, the doctors found them rather superficial except for the need to cover up a few cracks in her armour and to ensure she gets plenty of rest, as Rod, Laura and their mother Caroline watched outside with anticipation as she slept rather peacefully through it all thanks to an olorotitan singing nearby to put her at ease.

On the other side where the humans were treated though, things sadly weren't as peaceful…..

"NO! Stay back! Anything but that!" Ed screamed in a panic, while his entire body was bandaged up from his torso and a his arms wrapped up in a pair of casts, as Helga came over to him with a spoon filled with mush! Seeing how, despite the lack of his arms he was still putting up quite a resistance as he shook his head repeatedly and kept his mouth shut at all times! Grumpily, Helga pouted for a moment before snapping her fingers having found the solution, taking out a doctor's hammer nearby and then using it on his knee to 'test his reflexes'!

BOINK!

"YOW!" Ed yelped in pain, wincing as tears squeezed out from his eyes! In that moment, Helga sped to the mush and stuffed the entire spoonful down his mouth!

GULP!

As she removed it from his lips he swallowed it down reluctantly, as it had gone back down his throat and he was unable to cough it up. It was then he turned green and his cheeks puffed up with disgust as the vile slime ran down his gullet and he could still feel that bitter after taste! "HURF! Urgh…." He groaned weakly as he slumped back down into his medical bed, "Now I know what Dr Z feels…." He groaned uneasily as he began to understand the old man's pain. Hopefully when he's as old as him, he won't get sick and get put in some retirement home in need of caring, especially from Helga. By then he'd have to make sure he gets competent help or he'd be suffering the rest of his days.

Helga rubbed her temple in annoyance, and here she thought Dr Z was the only man child in the family, "Honestly why must you make things so difficult? For a man your age you certainly whine a lot. You don't even understand what real pain is." She grumbled before a dangerous aura flared up around her and her eyes reddened, "Unless of course you want your stay to be extended? Because that can be easily arranged…." She said to him in a very ghastly tone as she began to pop her knuckles!

Turning pale, Ed quickly shook his head in denial as Helga calmed down to his relief as he slumped back down into his bed cursing his fate under his breath. When he first entered the Hospital room he felt he was living the dream life with comfy medical bed, delicious hospital food and tv all for him, as well as a good outside window view showing the outdoor garden outside where some people were playing at the flower beds. It was heaven on earth, especially since he had a beautiful doctor and nurse assistant attending to him….though it was sadly too good to be true, the moment he tried hitting on them he made them so unsettled they screamed, thus forcing Helga to come to their aid as they shoved their duties to her much to his chagrin! "Me and my big mouth…." He muttered to himself.

Outside the hospital looking through the window, Dr Z shuddered turning pale before looking away and getting off Zander whom he was standing on just to see through. "What a living nightmare…." He shivered and grimaced feeling awful for Ed, "I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy…." If it was any other torture he'd laugh it off but not this. As he closed his eyes and huddled in the corner, his adoptive son Steve patted him on the back to comfort his old man.

Zander then stood up from crouching, straightening out his back from having Dr Z stand on him. Initially he was jealous Ed was going to get all kinds fo first class treatments with beautiful nurses, something he wished could happen to him and Reese being his caretaker….but he quickly changed his tune the moment Helga stepped into the picture and from that point on hearing his cries of agony through the door he felt sorry for his best friend.

The door soon opened getting their attention, while making Zander and Dr Z jump!

"EEP!" They yelped startled as Helga came out to see them.

"You all can come in now." She told them before heading in another direction, "Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go see Rod and Laura." She added at the end before dashing off down the hallways, pass by some patients, visitors, nurses and doctors who were either waiting or leaving their rooms only to be startled by her as she dashed passed them and made some of them drop their papers as they struggled to gather them up again.

The 3 men didn't waste any time though as they rushed in to see Ed on his bed still acting queasy and on the verge of falling into a coma from the awful room service he's been getting so far.

Quickly Zander rushed to his side and cried out to him in desperation, "Ed! Speak to me buddy!"

Ed opened his eyes to see his pal's concerned face, as he smiled with relief to see he was still with them and hadn't drifted into the afterlife yet, though he wished he had, "This is the worst…."

Feeling pity for him, Dr Z walked up to where he was, "There there, it's over now, the big bad lady is gone now you'll be fine." He said to him as he patted him on his cheek which made the chubby man feel rather appreciated as he smiled to see his family did care as they gathered around to see him….well almost all of them.

Curiously he looked around to see only half of them were present, "Say, where's Rod, Caroline, Ursula and Laura?" He blinked his eyes.

"Oh they both went off with Caroline to see Tank in the dino room." Steve answered him as Ed let out a sigh of sadness that they cared more about her than him.

"Sigh…."

His frown was about to be turned upside down as Steve reached into his pocket and handed him a card, "Don't worry though, if it's any consolation they did make you this get well card together." He said as he handed it to his adoptive brother, who opened it eagerly to find some nice congratulatory words and a well drawn pic of him in it too.

"Aww that's just sweet." Ed smiled feeling appreciated that despite their moments where they don't get along at least they still care.

"As for Ursula…." As Zander looked behind to see she wasn't anywhere in sight he blinked his eyes behind his sunglasses in surprise, "Strange, she must have slipped away when we weren't looking, wonder where could she have gone." He muttered scratching his head in thought.

Ed pouted crossly, "Hmph, some friend she is…."

Dr Z on the other hand gritted his teeth and tensed up furiously, "Grr if she shows up 'fashionably late' again to her match I'll grind her into paste and makes sure she gets Helga's ROYAL treatment!"

Steve frowned at him, "Dad…you'd better not say that out loud, you never know whom could hear you…." He whispered advising him to keep his voice down so he wouldn't bother the other patients around, to which Dr Z scoffed and looked away uncaringly.

"Hmph…." Ignoring Steve, Dr Z then looked towards his other adopted son who lay in the bed, "Ed my boy." His words made Zander back away nervously, as Ed gulped nervously as he closed his eyes awaiting Dr Z to yell in his face again for the umpteenth time for being a failure, which he felt he totally deserved given it meant Zander lost for nothing and he felt it may have been his place in the world to be….but to his surprise he felt Dr Z pat him on the shoulder, "You did….good out there today, and I'm….proud of you." Dr Z smiled at him though it seemed painful for him to utter the last bit out despite the smile he put on followed by the twitching of his eyes, as it took him much self restraint to keep himself from strangling Ed, partially due to Ed being injured himself and the other part being his kind and caring side.

Steve, Zander and Ed were taken aback by this, they knew Dr Z was unpredictable but this was something they never thought he would be capable of….again, "Whoa….you mean that Dr Z?" Ed breathed blinking his eyes wondering if he heard right.

Dr Z grinned, "Of course, have I ever lied to you?" Everyone sweat dropped which was followed by an awkward silence in the room as they stared at him questioningly to the old man's surprise and dismay. "Okay poor choice of words there…." He muttered twiddling his fingers, "But still you did your part so rest well." He then added with assurance as he patted him on the shoulder before pointing to himself, "And leave it to your leader and your future king to avenge your noble sacrifice!" He boasted holding up his head high with a cocky grin which made Zander and Ed both stare at him with sparkling eyes of admiration.

"Whoa!"

"That's why you're the King!"

"All hail Dr Z!" They both cheered and praised him as he held up his head high and let out hollers laughter as it began to inflate his ego.

"Ahahahahah!"

"Hehe some things just never change." Steve chuckled a little to himself before patting his dad on the back, "Well then 'your majesty'." He said getting his attention, "You'd better make a move otherwise you may miss out on your moment of glory." He suggested as he pointed to the clock on the wall in front of them.

"Hmm?" As Dr Z saw it was 15 minutes to the next match, Dr Z widened his eyes and grasped his head in a panic realising he hadn't much time to get to the stadium, "AH! Look at the time! I'd better make a move right now!" He cried out in alarm before regaining his composure and holding up his head up high, "After all what king would I be if I disappointed by own subjects and future followers by not showing up." He then pointed up to the sky, "Just you wait I'll give them all a show they'll never forget! Ahahaha!" He laughed out joyously as he hurried out the hospital room as his boys waved to him, sending him their best regards.

"You go get em dad!" Steve called.

"We'll be rooting for you all the way Dr Z!" Ed and Zander both added at the end as they switched on the TV to see the spectators were all gathering in the arena already as they spoke. To Zander and Ed, they had done their parts so they couldn't only hope Dr Z and Ursula could do their parts to ensure their name in history as the Alpha Gang would go down with a bang….even if that seemed nearly impossible they still believed it a dream to be achieved.

The door soon knocked and as they looked they saw a nurse step inside holding a clipboard in her hands, "Hello, is it time for another of his treatments now?" Steve asked, wondering if they may have to move out now and that rising hours were over.

The nurse shook her head, "Oh no, not at all." She replied, "Just wanted to inform you that despite the extent of his injuries, Ed here will make a rapid recovery and should be discharged by the end of today." She said to the relief of the Alpha Family, especially Ed as he sighed with relief he wouldn't have to put up with Helga for more than a day.

"That's good to know." Steve let out a sigh of relief along with Ed and Zander….though it wouldn't last long as the nurse flipped over the sheet on her clipboard and then removed the next one from it.

"Oh and….here." She said handing it to Steve, as he looked it over and saw the many numbers listed on it and how it ended off with a total cost…..

"Hmm this looks like…a bill?" He mused raising an eyebrow at the nurse who simply smiled at him innocently.

"Mhmm."

"Err…." As Steve thought about it, no way was Ed's insurance going to cover all these charges, given Dr Z wouldn't really invest so much into them….and as much as he loved his step siblings he still had a family to support. Looking around he saw the answer, "Here put it on his card." He stated quickly shoving it to Zander who stared at it in disbelief as he ran out the door before he could react!

After seeing the outrageous figures on the bill for both Ed and Tank's medical care, he widened his eyes and exclaimed, "Say what!?"

(Meanwhile)

Next door to the hospital across the street was the local but very well known Dino Health Spa, which was run by Hana's side of the grass division given her specialty was in aiding others to relax or better improve bodily functions in comparison to Hua. While similar in appearance to the hospital with the blend of special concrete lining its walls along with green roofing of solar panels and plant life growing on top, there were plenty of differences on the inside. Like the hospitals there were facilities made to cater to both people and dinosaurs alike being massage therapies, hot spring baths, scrubs, yoga rooms and sound baths. All the services dedicated to ensure everyone have a restful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the big city and stresses of life.

One such person needed it more than anyone else, given her bad experience from the other day, Ursula, as she lay down in a nice warm mud bath all to herself while wearing a clay mask and cucumbers over her eyes and her hair wrapped up in a warm towel, and as an added bonus she was getting her feet rubbed by a robot attendant similar to the ones the Ancients used in their dig excavations, while being surrounded by many scented candles and spa music on the TV which really helped her get a well deserved and needed peace of mind. "Ah this is the life….I could just stay here forever." She smiled to herself dreamily wishing she could just let her worries and tension flow away for good and she'd never have to come out into the world again, almost as she wanted to live here at the spa for the rest of her days.

She felt her skin feeling more moist and healthy than before, every bit of stress and toxic impurities being purged from her with each second and there was truly nothing that could ruin this moment and almost nothing that could get her to leave this spot….almost, "This is a way better start compared to last time…." She giggled to herself seeing this easily beat her horrendous experience before her duel and she was even thinking of skipping out on her match if she could stay here and indulge herself….but as she began to remember what happened the other day, her smile soon vanished, "Last time…." She began to recall the traumatic impression she left on the crowds in her battle with Marina, how she may have ruined her best chance at coming off on good terms with everyone of the future and now because of her own selfishness she may have squandered any chances she had of having anyone in the future who would look up to her.

Inside her mind she was unable to clear out the new thoughts that came in, now relaxation was out of the question for her as an inner war brew within her, on one hand she wanted to just hide away here from society for the rest of her days, for no matter how beautiful she makes herself now, she realise they saw her true self from the inside, so no way she could ever show face again. But on the other hand a part of her didn't want to end things off like this so easily in defeat, and a part of her really wanted to make it all up to them and redeem her own dignity even if she didn't know how to….

Her warring thoughts thankfully came to a temporary ceasefire as cheering was heard on the TV's music channel was interrupted with a live broadcast of the next battle taking place, "Ladies and gentlemen! As we've now hit the midway mark for our set of matches today, hope you've all had a satisfying lunch and that you've saved room for dessert for do we have a treat for you all!" The MC declared, upon hearing the cheers on screen, Ursula sat up and removed the cucumbers from her eyes to see Dr Z and Blaze taking place at the arena, "Looks like Dr Z's up…." She mused putting a finger to her chin in thought as she decided to watch closely and see how things turn out, "Well, time to see how he does." While a part of her hoped for him to win she also hoped he would do so in a good way so as not to tarnish their honour, something she never considered as once she thought winning was everything and then proven dead wrong. Perhaps now she may find the answer she was looking for here in this very battle.

(Meanwhile)

"Ladies and gentlemen! As we've now hit the midway mark for our set of matches today, hope you've all had a satisfying lunch and that you've saved room for dessert for do we have a treat for you all!" The MC announced to the masses who had gathered back from lunchtime and were raring for another match to go underway already, "A match which is literally filled to the brim with star power!" Fans from across the city and even the world howled with all their hearts as they awaited with immense anticipation and excitement for a battle that may make history! The MC then held his arm out to the side where the Captains were, "Introducing from the Resistance, our Hot hearted hero with a fearsome fiery flare to him! Give it up for Blaze!" He announced as the Fire Captain stood up from his seat and began to walk out to the stage, while flashing a grin for striking a pose for the cameras, making girls squeal and men roar out with energy!

"You're our hero!"

"Set our souls on fire!"

"Ahahaha! Thank you, you are all too kind!"

Marina pout him being a glory hog to women but smile part of his charm still

"Aww is someone a little jealous?" Raina snickered as she playfully elbowed her water comrade, till a cold glare being shot her way made her freeze up as she looked away avoiding eye contact with her, "And I'm quiet now."

Smirking with satisfaction, Marina's coldness melted away as she smiled warmly and cheered her husband on with all her heart, "Honey! You can do this! Win this match for us all!"

Blaze smirked her way, "Heh, I plan to Marina! Don't you worry!" He waved back to her, making a few fans whine as they remembered he was already hooked by someone, as well crushing several dreams too for those who wanted either him or Marina. Others though were happy for them instead and clapped for them.

"And in this corner! The leader of the Alpha Gang himself and our future Dinosaur King himself!" The MC then called out as he showed off the second side of the arena, "You all know him who has worked alongside the great Dr Ancient himself to make our society what it is today! let's give it up for Dr Z!"

Dr Z grinned seeing that was his cue as he held out his arms and showed himself off to the masses waiting to receive their applause, "Ehehehe! That's it! Bow before your king!" He cried out as several cheered him on, having remembered clearly how he aided their cause in Africa a while back though a handful were hesitant given he was still a member of the Alpha Gang and given what Ursula did earlier along with how egotistical he was too.

"It's the Fiery vigour of youth vs the Wisdom of Radiant Experience! What a matchup between 2 of Saurus City's greatest favourites! The matchup of the century!" The MC yelled out loudly with excitement and energy surging through his veins as he even stood up on his podium while whirling one of his arms out, unable to hold himself back from calling it out and wanting to get the match underway too.

Dr Z grinned rather snobbishly letting it go to his head feeling most flattered by the compliment…..unaware he was getting snickers or raised eyebrows from everyone who knew him personally.

Back at the hospital the rest of the Alpha Family had gathered together in Ed's room to see the match unfold, and right after hearing the MC announce, many of them began to laugh finding that Dr Z and the MC's description don't exactly go well together.

"Grampa's a lot of things…..but wise?" Rod scratched his cheek before shrugging his shoulders, "Yeah I don't see it."

"Well he is experienced, at least in….different ways….." Steve sweat dropped while smiling nervously scratching his head while everyone else began to snicker, really failing to hold back from bursting into laughter which they soon did.

For the D Team needless to say they were in the same boat as nearly everyone else as they looked to each other.

"So, whom should we be rooting for?" Rex asked.

Zoe scratched her head in thought, "Well I am still a little salty since Blaze beat me and all." She pouted a little before nodding firmly as she folded her arms, "But then again if I had to choose between him and Dr Z…..it's kinda obvious isn't it?"

"Yup same here," Max nodded before grinning, "Plus Blaze is way cooler! Like me he's a big fan of the Dino Troopers after all! Yay!" He cheered punching up to the sky making his choice clear.

"Eheheh….classic Max…." Rex grinned in amusement before looking to Dr Z bragging with a frown, "As much as I want to cheer for Dr Z….I just can't bring myself to…." Despite his past good actions he just couldn't forget about him being an egomaniac most of the time nor could he overlook them either.

The others were in agreement with him, though not so much for Cera, "For me….as usual I'd prefer to remain neutral." Cera shrugged her shoulders while smiling as her usual, plus Dr Z did help bail her and her dad out of danger back in Africa alongside Seth. "As long as both duelists make sure to fight fairly and with honour, as well as put the people first I'm okay since it means everyone wins…." It was then then she frowned a little and narrowed her eyes, "Still….given Dr Z's personal track record….he isn't known for doing things for others too much….." While there were times he did 'help out' they were rather rare if genuine and often he wanted something out of it too.

Plus during battle he could be rather underhanded and sneaky too….making it hard for those who knew him all too well to actually cheer for and support him. As made clear with the D Team's families as they looked to one another, it was obvious whom their money was on, as so was the majority, be it out of Blaze's greater fanbase or being wary of Dr Z because he's a member of the Alpha Gang.

As Dr Z continued to to wave out and cackle with pride to the masses that did shower him with praise, Blaze narrowed his eyes at him before looking back to see Marina eying him with hope to which he smiled and nodded back at her, promising not to let their family down. "I can't have my kid come into the world knowing his dad's a loser….." He told himself as he clenched his hand into a fist, "I've gotta win this for him and for everyone else counting on me too." The time for words had passed, now he took out his dinoshot and card, "Dino slash! Burn them to the ground daspletosaurus!" Blaze called out as he summoned forth Daigo in his full size as he let out a powerful roar, shaking the very arena itself to greet everyone in the stadium!

Cheers erupted out of control like a blazing wildfire as Daigo's roar quieted down.

"Burn him to a crisp!"

"Show that old geezer he's old news!"

Dr Z frown

"Hmph….A tough crowd we've got here…."

Yet despite that, he soon noticed there were a few of his fans that were still faithful to him, for they haven't forgotten what he had done for them during the Shadow Wars.

"No way! Dr Z's gonna win this!"

"He saved Kalimba Park and the African Branch after all!"

"Yeah that's right! No way he'll lose!"

Smirking to himself, Dr Z snickered feeling pleased to be appreciated and thus he felt obliged to return them the favour, "Heh, these simpletons haven't seen anything yet!" He cackled before pumping himself up, "Plus, as the leader of the Alpha Gang it's my duty to avenge my followers who lost trying to get here! I'll settle the score and restore our honour if it's the last thing I do!" He declared pointing out to the sky before taking out his own card, "Alpha slash! Come forth Therizinosaurus!" Appearing from bright rainbow light was none other than his pride and joy, the very secret dinosaur who gave his all for his adoptive father and together they unlocked an awakened power that only they could utilise, as he flashed out his massive claws and shrieked! "Son! This is our moment of glory! So let's win this one for the history books you and me!" Dr Z called out to his dinosaur who bellowed out a battle cry acknowledging his father as the crowds cried out in awe and amazement.

"Incredible! Dr Z brings a secret dinosaur to the table! Blaze certainly has his work cut out for him!" The MC announced in admiration himself as many others gasped with widened unblinking eyes, already knowing the power the secret element possessed that not even they fully understood, some were beginning to doubt or second guess Blaze's odds…..

And yet he didn't seem put off or deterred in the slightest, instead smirking eagerly in response, "Heh, a secret dinosaur eh? That's quite a good matchup eh Daigo?" He said to his partner who growled back in agreement, showing no signs of fear himself, "Time to see if that old geezer is the real deal!"

His wife though didn't share the same confidence as he did, and seeing what may potentially be a really dangerous opponent for him made her cry out with worry, "Oh Blaze be careful out there! Don't do anything reckless!"

The other captains looked to her questioningly, "You do realise whom you're talking to right?" Craig stated.

"I agree, you're asking the impossible from him Marina." Hua shook her head, while she had hope for many things, Blaze and being careful went together as well as oil and fire.

She lowered her head hearing their words, "Sigh….I know….but you can't blame me for being worried can you?" She muttered knowing her husband his little campfire would easily get out of control into a forest fire once he gets pass a certain point in battle, and in a battle with such an opponent like this….chances were pretty much guaranteed….

Up above Dr Ancient and Cretacia both stared in surprise at the powerful dino that Dr Z brought to the table. Like Seth, Dr Z conducted most of his experiments behind their backs, however unlike Seth he was actually able to hide his secret dinosaurs from them and he only learnt about their existence much later after he and his wife were awakened from their hibernation. Still it was a little too late to do anything about that given said experimental fusion of dinosaur and move cards was permanent though it seemed it didn't bother them too much in the present.

"Amazing…." Cretacia gasped seeing the scythed lizard shine in many bright colours in an aura of light!

Ancient then frowned somewhat placing a hand to his chin, "As much as I don't approve of his experiments I won't deny it definitely is powerful….not to mention he came through in helping the Resistance's African Branch."

"And achieved an awakened form too…." Lunensis then added before turning to his wide, "Say Maia, didn't you help raise a therizinosaurus at the day care a while back?" He asked as she put a finger to her chin in thought.

"Come to think of it….yes….not to mention a handful of other secret dinosaurs too…." It was a while back since she last visited her old workplace though she couldn't forget the experiences she had there as well as making some of the best friends or even family there too. She also recalled hearing their voices too and what they experienced before, "Could it…." As she thought about the possibility of them being the same dinosaur as what Dr Z held now, she shook her head denying the possibility given they were separated by centuries, "No, must be a coincidence….Maybe he's a descendent or something like that…." She told herself, deciding not to think too much about it as she decided to focus on the match about to go underway.

Max and the other tensed up at the sight of Dr Z's choice, "There he is guys…." Max swallowed.

"Yeah, how could we forget…." Rex nodded as the kids felt an immense pressure emanating from the arena as Daigo roared and stomped his foot at Therizinosaurus, who retorted with a shrieked while sharpening his claws on the ground which generated sparks as they made contact!

Zoe sweated anxiously, "I'm getting goosebumps just watching them raring to go…."

Cera said nothing but tensed her hands on her knees, knowing that both combatants were really strong in their own right so a fight between them would lead to devastating results on either one….only thing they could do now was to see how it plays out.

Seeing how both dinosaurs' fighting instincts were heightened to their max, the MC saw it would be rude to keep them and everyone else waiting any longer, "Now, with both corners having presented their chosen dinosaurs, it's time to dino duel!" He declared out to the masses, "Go time warp!" The some enveloped the combatants in the arena, as they both were transferred to a large open grassy glade surrounded by many tall trees.

As soon as the battlefield set in, the 2 dinosaurs squared off each trying to intimate the other as Therizinosaurus shrieked out fiercely and swung out his massive arm claws to ward off Daigo, the daspletosaurus responded with an angry snarl in response as they circled one another looking for an opening to exploit. Each time Daigo took a step forth, Therizinosaurus swung out his arms repeatedly warning him not to tread carelessly, plus the massive claws not only kept Daigo at a distance but should they make contact they could rend and tear nearly anything in half.

The tension in the air thickened as everyone looked forward, others leaning ahead at the edge of their seats as they awaited for either one of them to make the first move. Their duelists following their partners closely behind so they wouldn't end up in the crossfire or as the target of a stray attack.

Blaze then frowned after a little while passed, "Hmm we'll never get anywhere if we just show threats at one another." He said with disappointment.

"I agree," Dr Z replied with a nod before grinning at him, "So why don't you come closer then, so I can give you a saurian smackdown for everyone to enjoy! Ahahaha!" He taunted pointing out at his opponents.

Blaze however took it as a challenge he was more than happy to accept, "Heh! Not if I beat you to it first!" He laughed before punching forth, "Go Daigo!" He called out, with his daspletosaurus unable to hold himself back anymore, let himself loose as he charged into battle throwing caution to the wind!

Dr Z grinned, finally they could begin at last and he could give them all what they came here for. As Daigo came up close, Therizinosaurus swung out his arms viciously deterring his advance as he was forced to rear back but he could feel the tip of those razor claws barely grazing his chin in the process! And just as the first swipe ended the second arm swung out in the opposite direction showing that he couldn't drop his guard even at the first arm. Daigo then tried attacking from a safer distance with his tail, swinging it out as hard as he could aiming for the exposed flanks, only for his opponent to quickly respond by blocking the tail with his arm and shrugging it off with ease and much to his surprise! "Ahahah! Was that supposed to tickle?" Dr Z cackled as Therizinosaurus reared up standing tall on his hind legs while flashing out his claws.

Meanwhile Daigo took a step back as Blaze whistled impressed, "Whoa, those are some swift reflexes there….." As swift as his claws were sharp, as a bead of sweat wrinkled down his cheek. The Therizinosaurus then swung out his tail at Daigo, smacking him in the face and making him stumble back as he shook his head to regain his balance.

At their corner the D Team watched on uneasily, remembering their experience first hand regarding the beast's razor sharp claws from which his name was derived from, "Dr Z must have trained it well." Rex swallowed as a bead of hard sweat dropped from his cheek.

"Trained yes." Max nodded before scratching his cheek unsurely, "Well…..Not sure what to say….." He added as Zoe nodded with him.

"I've listened to the voices of the dinosaurs from their cards….." Cera then spoke up, "Out of them all, therizinosaurus happened to be the one most attached to Dr Z." She noted.

"He did say they did have fun playing tag between training sessions….." Zoe added, recalling the old man say it the day they first encountered him. "Didn't think he could make an actual bond with any dinosaur." She mused folding her arms on her hips mildly impressed, something she never thought she'd feel for Dr Z or anyone from the Alpha Gang.

Max then snickered as he scratched the back of his head, "Guess we should never judge a book by its' cover." He chuckled as they got back to the match at hand.

As Daigo charged and lunged repeatedly at Therizinosaurus, the scythed dinosaur retaliated by slashing out, his claws raking at the carnivore's body, flanks or face whciveer came in range! The repeated slashes and cuts disoriented Daigo immensely not to mention the stinging of the wounds as he backed away, with Blaze's advance halted once more to his annoyance, "Maybe we've been a little too impatient….better hold back and think strategically Daigo." Blaze clicked his tongue, as his daspletosaurus hesitantly took a step back, which their opponent took as a sign of fear and weakness.

"Aww what's the matter? Scared to have your goose cooked?" Dr Z taunted as he began sticking his tongue out mocking him, "Where's all that fire gone hmm? Looks to me you're all show and no substance! Ahahaha!" He laughed out loud with arrogance.

"Grr…."

Many scowls and frowns were found on the faces of Blaze's fans, angered at Dr Z wanting to stick it to him, but they couldn't bring themselves to given Dr Z was holding his own just fine and could back up his big words which really got them peeved.

Angered and annoyed, Daigo snarled and lunged to bite hoping to startle his rival, only for his opponent to react with another claw swipe aimed right at his eyes! "Get back!" Blaze then called out as Daigo barely managed to avoid another swing, as he roared out in frustration at being unable to find an opening to exploit, seeing the secret dinosaur's defences and movements to be very tight. "That therizinosaurus has powerful arms and really vicious claws…." Blaze noted, realising he had to be actually careful here now. He then smiled with confidence refusing to quit yet, "But if we can get inside pass them, no way they'll be able to fight back!" He told himself firmly, deciding to aiming for the dinosaur's weak spots behind the arms! "Let's take this up close and personal!" He said grabbing a move card and slashing it, "Daigo! Burning Dash!" Daigo then flashed red as flames gathered in his jaws as he prepared to grab hold of Therizinosaurus, be it his arm, leg or body it didn't matter, just one bite was all he needed!

Unfortunately, Dr Z anticipated this and grinned already coming up with a counter strategy, "Intercept it now!" He commanded!

Therizinosaurus was quick to intercept with a bladed backhand to repel him and send him back several feet as Daigo slumped down to the ground, his face being smacked by what felt like a freight train!

"AH!" He gasped in surprise. Seeing Dr Z' sneering at him, he gritted his teeth angrily, refusing to be deterred this easily! As Daigo pushed himself back up again, "D…Don't give up! Go for it!" Blaze cheered him on as the Daspletosaurus stomped his foot and let out a fearsome roar before charging forth head on again, only to be smacked down to the ground again by the huge front claws again and then being scooped up and tossed away! "Aw man!" Blaze facepalmed at his failed attempt again.

"Against an opponent like that, attacking up close is the worst kind of approach to use…." Craig huffed disappointed in Blaze's poor strategy, to think a man child like him actually became captain he thought, if he kept this up he'd tarnish their entire image as being elemental leaders.

"He always acts first with his heart and thinks later." Raina shrugged her shoulders, having seen him grow up when young until he is now she barely sees any difference in him now as he was then, "Always has and always will…."

Marina tightened her grip on her knees uneasily for her husband, as she cried out, "Blaze! Try to avoid attacking too close!"

In response he held out an ok sign to her, "Relax, I've got it under control!" As if on cue, his daspletosaurus swung his tail out aiming it at the secret dinosaur's small but vulnerable head! Anticipating this the tall herbivore ducked down in time before being smacked to the ground! Reeling in again, Daigo lunged in and snapped his jaws aiming at his neck only for Therizinosaurus to rear back in time as the jaws barely missed their mark as they snapped close!

"Oh yeah!?" Dr Z responded, "We'll see about that! Go!" Dr Z commanded his dino to strike out with his vicious claws repeatedly, driving Daigo back till he was cornered by some tall trees as many closed their eyes or looked away!

"AIYEE!"

"I can't look!"

Despite his fans' fears, Blaze wasn't worried in the slightest, ion fact his plane as working out just as he hoped, "Move now!" He quickly the order as Daigo leapt out of the claw's way causing the therizinosaurus to get himself stuck in a tree trunk that was right behind his opponent!

Dr Z clenched his face in horror at being played, "WAH! No!" He gasped.

"Dr Z's dinosaur has its claws stuck in the tree! That leaves them vulnerable and exposed! A perfect opportunity to counterattack!" The MC called out to the masses as the crowds gasped in surprise.

"Which is just what we'll do!" Blaze responded, despite his hot headedness at times apparently he still had moments he could actually think and plan ahead, he didn't earn the title of captain with just spirit and power alone after all. On cue, Daigo charged in and with his massive jaws grabbed hold of his opponent's neck! Crunching down hard causing him to shrieked in pain!

"WAAAAH!" Dr Z screamed his head off in a panic before quickly gritting his teeth and regaining his composure. Angrily he thrusted his arm out, "Counter attack! Quick!" Therizinosaurus struck his left arm from under his right, delivering a surprising counter as it struck into Daigo's side! His eyes shut tightly in pain as a small tears were squeezed out, but he refused to let go! Instead he mustered his strength into his head and neck, throwing out his opponent to the ground and slamming him hard down, dislodging him from the tree in the process before pinning him down with his foot! "Don't let him throw you around like some rag doll! Fight back my boy!" Dr Z cheered him on, prompting the scythe lizard to swipe out with his arm! Seeing this, Daigo released him in time and darted away before the claws could make contact, though he could just feel their presence pass by his tail as he put some distance between them. His father then smiled pumping up his arms, "Yes! That's it! I trained you to be the best you can be! No way you'll lose to something like this!"

Having had enough of hearing his old cranky voice, "For the record Dr Z, you talk way too much!" Blaze then shouted out as Daigo roared out in fury as he dove upon Therizinosaurus! Pushing past his forearms and getting so up close he was able to clamp his jaws and bite straight into his shoulder! Causing the beast to bellow out in pain and agony as he tried desperately to yank him off with his foot and arms!

"Oh no!" Dr Z cried out, but hearing his father's cries of worry, spurred the secret dinosaur to muster his upper body strength as he grabbed hold of his attacker and threw him down to the ground!

"AH!" Blaze widened his eyes seeing he may have gotten a bit careless there.

Dr Z grinned seeing an opportunity to not only deal big time damage but even end this once and for all! "Ahahah! Now squash him!" He commanded as Therizinosaurus reared up ready to stomp on his head underfoot! Blaze narrowed his eyes, as Daigo responded fast by kicking out at his opponent's unprotected stomach! The impact made Therizinosaurus cough out violently as he staggered backwards and clenched his stomach in pain!

"GAH!" Dr Z winced at the unexpected counter, as Therizinosaurus struck his claw down in anger, though his recoil from early gave Daigo the opening he needed to get to his feet before darting out of the claw's path as it struck the ground missing him by a hair! "GRRR!" Dr Z growled gnashing his teeth till they were on the verge of cracking under pressure!

Blaze too was just as frustrated as he and Daigo withdrew, his dinosaur panting tired while he sweated, "Tch! That dino's defence is really tight, a direct approach can never get through….alone….." He clicked his tongue before widening his eyes in realisation, "Wait, maybe I can use that to my advantage….It's risky but it could pay off…." Making eye contact with Daigo, said daspletosauurs nodded sensing the command from his partner as he let out a roar and charged head on towards their opponents as Blaze grinned with eager!

"What's he doing!?" Marina widened her eyes as the other captains looked on equally as surprised as her, "Blaze! You're too reckless out there! Don't burn yourself out!" She cried out to him.

"Heh, you just don't learn do you? You're a glutton for punishment aren't you!?" Sneered Dr Z as he pointed forth, "Fine then it's your funeral! Prepare to be extinct!" Therizinosaurus shrieked out ferociously as he unleashed a flurry of swipes at Daigo!

The daspletosaurus roared in pain as each of the many slashes while superficial they left vicious scratches drawing out drops of blood at each strike! Blaze winced almost feeling his partner's pain as his advance came to a halt due to the barrage of claw rakes and slashes which were covering most of his body now from his head down to his legs! As they continued to pile on, Blaze and Daigo both knew they had come this far there was no turning back now! He pushed on through the flurry of slashes, widening everyone's eyes as he pushed on through the wave of sharp strikes each drawing more and more blood, till he came within range seizing an opening between the attacks as Therizinosaurus began to tire out and the frequency of his attacks began to lessen as the gasped for air in exhaustion!

"Now! Blazing spin!" Blaze yelled out slashing the move, as Daigo shot a stream of fire right in Therizinosaurus' face, catching him off balance before lunging in and crunching down on his neck, before mustering up the energy to lift him off the ground and spin him in a circle!

"AH!" Dr Z could only stand back and stare shocked once again, being caught completely off guard!

"No way!" Max exclaimed as everyone else in the audience gasped.

"He attacked knowing Dr Z would defend and drop his guard down between swipes…." Rex narrowed his eyes observingly, "Still that came at a big risk…."

Cera then smiled, "Heh well Blaze knows no fear, plus big risks usually mean big rewards in the end." She stated, "The reward in this case being getting a clear shot at last."

Blaze now having the upper hand decided it was his turn to be throwing taunts, "What's the matter old man? A little rusty on the playing field?" he chuckled as Daigo seemed to be having a field day swinging his opponent round and round like a toy!

This infuriated Dr Z as he clenched his fist which bulged with rage refusing to take this humiliation, "Grrr! You won't get away with this!" He growled swearing vengeance, "Therizinosaurus! Attack now while you still have the chance!" Hearing his voice, the secret dinosaur struck out with his arm, managing to rake at Daigo's neck causing his grip to loosen! Seeing it was working he aimed to work his way up close to his face, hoping his long claws would be able to reach a vital spot like his eyes!

Blaze widened his eyes realising what they were trying to do, seeing the risk was too great now, "AH! Daigo! Throw him now!" He warned as the daspletosaurus tossed Therizinosaurus away, causing him to tumble through a few trees and causing them to crash down! Thankfully it wasn't a full forced throw but the flames still enveloped his body a little before dying out. It was then Daigo fell to one knee to Blaze's worry, "Oh no!" he gasped out realising Daigo was hurt rather badly, as the therizinosaurus picked himself back up and growled as both of them took a moment to lick their wounds.

"You'll pay for what you did to my boy!" Dr Z growled angrily before grinning at his son who was back to full strength having regained his composure, "Come on! Let's get him good!" He cheered him on to which Therizinosaurus nodded in agreement as he snarled fiercely and charged forth swinging out his claws almost maniacally as Daigo once again darted away in time, just as the claws evicerated a small tree shredding it to pieces in an instant making the audience gasp! Some of them even fainting had it been something or someone alive!

"That was way too close…." Blaze caught his breath placing a hand to his heart to still its racing. For the first time in his career as a duelist he never thought he'd encounter an opponent that would make him wary, one that would unnerve him to the point of actually restraining himself and his excitement. It was then he realised if he fought as he normally did not only would it get him nowhere near the results he hoped for but it could even be his undoing! "Hmm maybe we do need a different approach." He thought deciding to try out a ranged attack instead, "Go fire cannon!" The daspletosaurus charged up a fireball in his jaws and blasted it Dr Z's way who sneered back in response to it.

"Ha! You call that heat!? Big deal!" He boasted as he uttered a command, "Claw blade!" Then scythed dinosaur's claws grew into a set of massive sabers which cleaved the fireball into minor cinders upon slashing through them! The sight of it amazed everyone watching at how skilfully he did so, "Ahahaha! How was that!?" The old man laughed in Blaze's face, who was a little put off with worry before smirking back at him.

"Heh, okay then, you want heat? I'll give you more than you can handle!" He bellowed out as he decided to turn up the heat! "Magma blaster!" Daigo flashed red and stomped his foot on the ground and charged up an immensely powerful ball of fire in his jaws before firing it off with full force towards Dr Z!

He however grinned with confidence back at him, "No problem! We'll take you on with gyro claw!" It was then that Therizinosaurus shone brightly as he flashed out his trademark claws and spun around in a rapid circle as he began blocking the magma stream at him!

"No way!" Blaze widened his eyes stepping back in disbelief as the audience gasped.

"That technique…." As Cera and Lunensis watched on they easily recognised it as the very same move he pulled off back at the Space Pirates' fortress in Africa!

As the flames died down and Therizinosaurus came to a stop, Dr Z grinned with pride, "Ahahahah! We powered on through Specter's most powerful move with that combo! No way you could ever come close to topping that!" He laughed out loud arrogantly while also looking down on Blaze as he narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth uneasily himself, perhaps he may have bitten off more than he could chew this time around, "That just proves it, I'm the best there is! There's no one worthier of sitting on the throne than me and there never will be! Hahahahah!" Dr Z then cackled.

Many fans of Dr Z began to cheer and applaud his skills and talent, for an old man he sure had plenty of tricks and moves they never thought possible so they were definitely to be admired. Though others while acknowledging that, they couldn't help but frown in disappointment at Dr Z's lack of humility, seeing him as a person on the inside being far more important that his accomplishments.

"Wow….talk about having an overinflated ego." Reese commented as she folded her arms.

"I find that statement to be too kind actually." Jonathan sweat dropped as he shook his head in disapproval.

Seeing there was no denying it, no matter how much he wanted to, Blaze then smiled calmly and let out a breath, "You've definitely got the strength needed to be King I'll admit…." He confessed as Dr Z listened on saying nothing, "Not to mention loyal followers and being able to bring out the best in dinosaurs….in your own unique way…." He added at the end.

"Hehehe…." Dr Z snickered believing Blaze was finally starting to see him in his full glory, awaiting him to shower him with more praise…..but his next words soon threw him for a loop.

"Though the real question is why you want to be king."

As soon as he asked that, Dr Z blinked his eyes in surprise, "Huh? Why I want to be king?"

Back at the hospital the rest of the family were just as surprised as he was, "Hey you know, that's actually a good question." Ed mused.

"We've never asked grampa that have we?" Laura stated to Rod as the others began to converse amongst themselves.

They kept hearing Dr Z go on and on about being king of the dinosaurs and everyone worshipping him for as long as they could remember, they couldn't get him to stop even if they could….but not once have they ever asked why or how he came to such a dream. As everyone in the arena began conversing amongst one another, some of them interested in hearing what became the seed of Dr Z's biggest lifelong dream.

Deep down Dr Z sweated nervously, as he began to think about it real hard, he began to remember that his brainchild of a dream came to be was all because he jealous over Ancient and wanted to outdo him and be remembered for something revolution himself otherwise he would be forgotten and never be remembered for doing anything worthwhile in his whole life. Though as he thought hard about it, if the truth ever came out he would never be able to live it down and he believed himself to be mocked as the laughing stock of the future.

Unable to bring himself to tell the truth, he did what he always did, put up a strong facade and lie his way out of it, "W…Well, why would I need a reason!?" Dr Z cried out in defiance, "Like why do hikers climb hills, why do birds fly? It's because they were born to do so!" He then held his head up high with a face filled with pride and arrogance, "As for me, it's my destiny to be king of all the dinosaurs! My name will go down in history and I'll be immortalised through all the ages! What other reason would I need!? Ahahahaha!" He laughed out boastfully feeling proud of his 'answer' and actually believing it to be good enough a reason…..though he would soon come to regret it.

As he stopped laughing, he turned pale and flinched as a deep silence descended upon the arena, many of the spectres beginning to shoot glares or expressions fo disgust and disdain at him! Even some of his fans were beginning to doubt or regret ever supporting him in the first place. It was too late to take back his answer as he sweated bullets upon hearing nasty rumours and gossip echoing through the stadium.

"Seriously? Now that's the worst kind of reason I've ever heard…." Dr Ancient and Cretacia both sighed in disgust, to think all their troubles began all because of some random thought that came into Dr Z's senile mind which made him easy to exploited by Seth in turn….unbelievable….A sentiment shared by everyone else around the world as they bore witness his confession, even some of those who stuck by him had their faith in him shaken as a result, as though everything they believed in was a lie and it came crashing down on them.

"Hmph how disappointing," Blaze scoffed with disappointment, making Dr Z scowl.

"What was that!?" He yelled angrily at him.

The fire captain remained firm, refusing to take back his words, "To be honest when I heard about the great Dr Z helping to inspire and lay the foundation for dino society I and many others used to picture him as some great heroic figure with great dreams and vision for the generations to come." He then shook his head in disgust, "But now hearing the truth, way I see it you're just a typical dictator or better yet a maniacal tyrant who wants others to worship you just because you felt like it. Honestly you really could use some imagination and aim higher for something more worthwhile." He added at the end.

Dr Z blinked his eyes before reacting with hostility, "What….did you say!?"

Blaze shrugged his shoulders after that, "After all what good is a king without subjects who give their all back to him in return." He added before pointing out at the old man with a firmness in his eyes, almost unrecognisable even to Marina! She and everyone always knew Blaze for someone being a man of smiles and fun…but now it seemed that Blaze wasn't around anymore, "Way I see it the only thing you'd only inspire is some rebellion before eventually you get knocked off your so called throne and then be replaced by a real ruler!" He declared out firmly without any hesitation, followed by an angered roar by Daigo, almost as though their feelings were being reflected in one another!

The people stared with amazement and awe, stunned by his heroic and passionate words which cut straight to the heart. The crowds immediately ate it up as the clapped and applauded for Blaze, including Marina, as he seemed to win over the hearts of the masses together and unite them at his side. Hearing his logic, many of Dr Z's fans were unable to respond to that kind of logic and they even found themselves cheering for the captain of fire instead!

"Way to go Blaze!"

"You should be king instead of this wackjob!"

"You're the hottest hero of all!"

"Tch! You really need to get your straightened out cos this isn't some Saturday Morning Cartoon or cliche comic book plot where the good guy always wins!" Dr Z spat feeling insulted that his followers and fans were being swayed easily by such easily impressionable words, "Even you should realise that isn't how the world works and everything isn't all so black and white!"

Blaze said nothing at first before a small smile came across his face, "Heh I get that a lot, you have no idea how many times I've heard my friends tell me that." He replied, "Still you can't help but deny there is plenty of truth to those cliche plots. Plus those help give many, especially the young, hope for a better world each day as they come." He said facing Dr Z as a reddish aura began to form around him which everyone widened their eyes recognising what was about to happen! "And as one of those youths inspired by those stories long before, it's my duty to blaze a path of hope and destiny for them all to follow! A duty that me and Daigo both intend to achieve not merely for ourselves for the people of today and the future generations to come!" He declared vowing not to lose to someone as shallow as Dr Z, his mind fully made up as Daigo exploded in an aura of fire and emerged into his super form as everyone stared and gasped!

"WHOA!"

"And Blaze has awakened Daigo! Things are bound to get real fiery now!" The MC announced.

"Like every great hero story, when all seems lost for the people a hero shall always to defeat the evil tyrant once and for all!" Blaze announced with pride and passion before pointing to himself with a grin, "And that hero today shall be me and Daigo!" As he finished, the daspletosaurus roared out thunderously shaking the area around them and emanating an aura which gave off tremendous heat as strong as the sun and fire in their hearts!

Frustrated beyond belief and refusing to be put in his so called place by someone with such an immature way of thinking, Dr Z was having enough of it, "Grrgh! I guess I'll just have to beat some sense into you and wake you up from your delusions!" He yelled out commanding his dinosaur to fight! "Attack!" Therizinosaurus then slashed out repeatedly at Daigo's face, but instead of raking through him like before it felt more like a mere hand slap to his face as Daigo easily shrugged off said 'attacks' like they were nothing before roaring furiously! "What!?" Dr Z widened his eyes while Therizinosaurus stepped back now feeling fear for the first time in this battle!

"That's not going to work anymore!" Blaze retorted as he ploughed through the attacks, the claws now merely bouncing off Daigo's fiery scales as he shoved the arms aside and charged in biting down onto the secret dinosaur's shoulder! The bone crunching teeth and force were only half the problem, fire from his jaws also burned right into the open wounds too as Therizinosaurus shrieked in pain and agony!

"WAAH! NO!" Dr Z screamed his head off turning almost pale.

"Unbelievable!" The MC was shocked at hoe easily Daigo shrugged off his wounds as if they hadn't affected him anymore or didn't even feel a thing!

In the hospital Dr Z's family widened their eyes in alarm at the turn of events.

"Oh no gramps!" Rod and Laura cried out.

"Uh oh! Dr Z's in trouble!" Ed shivered nervously.

"Like that's new….." Zander muttered believing this wasn't anything new, and he hoped so deep down.

"But still….This isn't looking good for dad…." Steve added with concern, he knows his dad faced all kinds of big time troubles in his days but this may be the biggest he's had to face thus far, not just defeat in front of millions but also being smacked with a dose of reality too.

At the duel the D Team watched with awe to see Blaze and Daigo begin two unleash every bit of their hot blooded bond and true power at last, "Unreal, it's like their fiery fighting spirit has been awakened…." Rex breatehed in amazement.

"Like before….nothing deters them once they get like this…." Zoe remembered it all too well.

"That's Blaze for you." Cera stated as she recalled it herself, "A fiery sense of justice that can never be conquered while burning away all evil in its wake."

"All that passion and energy….heh it feels almost contagious." Max chuckled feeling fired up himself seeing the way they fought so far, was even more action packed and inspiring than when he duelled Zoe.

"Urgh! No this can't be not like this!" Dr Z gritted his teeth unwilling to accept a loss as one sided as this, "Don't let him beat you my boy! After what we've been through I know you can fight back!" Hearing his voice, Therizinosaurus worked up enough strength to slash at his attacker's face, only by nearly taking out his eye was he able top force the awakened carnivore to withdraw…though barely as he started panting and was forced to jam one arm into the ground to keep himself on his feet and from toppling over from fatigue.

"Not bad, didn't think you'd be able to get out of that." Blaze whistled moderately impressed, "But it's out of the frying pan and into the fire for you now!" He then grinned as he slashed his move card, "Explosion!" Flaring up in flames, Daigo launched himself wrapped in fire as he propelled himself like a meteor right towards Dr Z who stuttered frantically!

"G….Gyro claw!" He cried out in desperation, as Therizinosaurus reacted just in time, mustering the energy to spin like a tornado right into the comet's path!

The burning meteor met head on with the spinning tornado, sparks and cinders flying out from their collision, they held out for so with either giving way as Dr Z and Blaze held out their arms gritting their teeth at the immense pressure emanating from the colliding forces with neither side giving in….till the fiery meteor was deflected off and Daigo shook the flames out as he landed on the ground after a backflip!

Dr Z's eyes brimmed with hope seeing he won the clash, "Ah! Yes! We did it! Good job I knew you could do it!" He cheered his son on, but it didn't last long as Therizinosaurus' spinning slowed down and as he came to a stop he suddenly staggered and wobbled dizzily, needing to jam his claw into the ground just to steady himself, as Dr Z widened his eyes in shock and fear, "Oh no!" He cried out.

For his opponent they both grinned seeing it as their moment of glory! "Oh yeah I'm on fire today!" Blaze roared out as he decided to pile the pressure on, "Now burst of flames!" Daigo then fired out a stream of flames right at his opponent in point blank range giving them no room to move or react!

"Guard with claw blade! Quick!" Dr Z cried out frantically, spurring Therizinosaurus to muster up the energy to glow and grow his claws in time as he held them out in front of him, managing to block much of the flames from Daigo, though some of it was managing to get through to him and he could feel the immense heat wearing him down, as well as singe his very arms as he cried out in pain! "H…Hang in there! You're doing great!" Dr Z desperately tried to cheer him on hoping he wouldn't give in or give out.

As everyone looked on tensely at another deadlock, Max and the D Team eyed Therizinosaurus rather symapthetically, "Man I feel sorry for therizinosaurus now…." Not just from the fire but also that he was giving his all for Dr Z yet it still wasn't good enough.

"Yeah….let's just be glad we aren't out there though….I feel we'd get melted by now." Zoe gulped as she and the others could feel the heat from the battle from where they were, had it been them no way they'd last this long in a drawn out match.

Cera couldn't help but frown feeling bad for what Therizinosaurus was going through, "As entertaining as battles are you still can't help but feel bad for the dinosaurs that go through them sometimes." She said before narrowing her eyes, "But true duelists are always there for their partners no matter what comes their way, so they aren't facing them alone." As she looked closer, she could see Dr Z was at least demonstrating that being at his dino's side the whole way but he was still acting completely on his unstable emotions and not carefully thinking on what move may be best for both him and his dinosaur.

Soon the flames gave out as Daigo stopped to catch his breath, seeing Therizinosaurus while still heavily charred was still standing quite strong in defiance of their power. He narrowed his eyes seeing despite powering up they weren't quite able to finish it yet, "Hmm….I have to admit I didn't expect them to be able to resist us this well Daigo." Blaze commented as Daigo regrouped at his side and snorted out smoke from his nostrils, while Therizinosaurus recuperated and got back on his legs despite wobbling initially he stills stood firm ready to protect and obey Dr Z. Looking into his eyes, Blaze noticed something he didn't quite expect, "That old fossil, he may come as a loudmouthed lunatic but still the fact his dinosaur gives his all for him…..It's not out of fear, but true devotion….." He thought.

Maybe he wasn't so bad after all since not many can draw out said passion from a dinosaur, meaning Dr Z had some redeemable qualities to an extent. Commendable but a battle was still a battle and it was all business here, so it would be against his code to give anything less than his passionate best. Though for his best, he felt a certain trump card of his that he had been saving for a rainy day, one he told himself he wouldn't use because of how cursed and unfair it seemed….and yet the battling spirit within him which refused to allow himself to lose….it soon won out as he made his decision with Daigo standing by him, "I didn't want to do this but desperate times call for equally crazy ideas!" He called out before holding his arm out! "Go!" He commanded Daigo who charged forth to everyone's surprise!

"What's he doing this time!?" Spike widened his eyes as everyone kept their focus on the match as it seemed to be reaching another turning point.

"Another head on attack!? No problem!" Dr Z grinned believing he could beat that easy as he pointed out spurring Therizinosaurus to leap into action!

Unaware he dropped his guard and left him exposed to Blaze's trap, as he then smirked with satisfaction, "Heh, he fell for it. Hook, line and sinker!"

Cera soon took notice of what Dr Z failed to see as she gulped, "Oh dear." Needless to say Dr Z was about to take a trip right into the Inferno!

Her statement got her friends' attention as they looked to her, "Huh?"

"Is something wrong Cera?" They asked her both curiously and with worry, as she narrowed her eyes tensely.

"Dr Z just blundered right into Blaze's trap!" She stated to their alarm!

"Eh!?"

They were soon proven right as Daigo held firmly as Therizinosaurus came within range, only to sidestep the secret dinosaur's spear strike as he ended up tripping over a fallen log!

"AH!" Dr Z widened his eyes in alarm, as his dinosaur struggled hard to push himself back up, which left him vulnerable to attack as Daigo stood above him!

Taking his secret weapon, Blaze slashed it without hesitation, his mind made clear, "Now! Time for the final burn!" Daigo charged up some black flames in his jaws before spewing them all over the secret dinosaur, making him cry in agony as the cursed black flames seemed to be eating away at his flesh and even his very soul!

"WAH!" Dr Z cried out in shock at a move he never seen before, yet was so strikingly familiar somehow….

"Oh dear this isn't good…." Cera gulped down seeing Blaze's secret weapon and recognising it just as she feared.

"Wh…What do you mean?" Rex asked her as the others awaited her response.

"You'll see…." Was all she replied, "If Blaze is resorting to using that move, guess that means he's actually acknowledged Dr Z….Maybe not as a worthy person but as a strong opponent." She thought to herself, either way Dr Z's time was no doubt running out now.

Unaware of what was really going on and thinking of it as another fire attack, Dr Z gritted his teeth in anger, "Grr! Get out of my face!" He yelled, Therizinosaurus hearing his words managed to turn around and deliver a swift uppercut to Daigo's jaw from below making him stagger back from the impact as he shook his head to regain his senses, while Therizinosaurus stood firmly and flared out his signature weapons and roared back at him with Dr Z regaining his spunk, "HA! How do you like that!?" He then grinned boasting with pride, unaware of the hidden danger within the black flames from earlier.

"Not bad…." Blaze nodded having to admit he did a decent escape and counter, though the damage had already been done, "But it's too little too late." As he said those words, Therizinosaurus suddenly had a cursed fiery aura erupted around him making him shriek in pain as he fell down to his knees in weakness to Dr Z's horror and the crowd's bewilderment! "Wh…What did you do!?"

"The final burn, it's a move I always save for when I have no other options left." Blaze answered, as he came to the real shocking news, "It's a rather cheap move that takes the fun out of the battle, considering it takes you out the second I land another successful attack!" He declared to the bewilderment of Dr Z and everyone else!

"No way!"

"Seriously!?"

"Who would come up with such a ridiculous move like that!?"

"Whoa…." Marina breathed as she was at the edge of her seat, while seeing said move as something only a villain would use….could this be considered something like a heel turn? She would have expected Craig to do something like that but not her husband….even Craig himself stared in disbelief as his jaw hung unable to comprehend what he just witnessed.

"It's like fire scorcher in a way…." Rex commented as Cera nodded in agreement with him.

"Yes, but somewhat weaker at the same time too." She added.

"This could be it folks! The endgame is within sight!" The MC announced as the turning point of the match had finally arrived and the tension was peaking, "With Dr Z's therizinosaurus already on his last legs, Daigo needs to merely land one last hit and it's game over! We could be seeing the great Dinosaur King himself get dethroned this very day!"

"AH!" Dr Z widened his eyes, those very words echoing at the back of his mind as he began imaging his worst nightmare coming to reality and he could even picture being ignored and forgotten to the winds of time…..Even envisioning his own family turning away from him too, "N…NO….This can't be! I….I won't allow it!" He yelled to himself before shouting out at his dinosaur, "Son! Our very future hangs in this very battle so you'd better not get careless and mess up!" He scolded him….which made Therizinosaurus grunt in discomfort as he could still feel immense pain coursing through the rest of his body from the attack.

Blaze raised an eyebrow at his words, "Our future?" He questioned, "Are you sure you're speaking for the both of you, or just yourself?"

"Huh? Why I-AH!" Before Dr Z could finish, he saw Therizinosaurus pant with exhaustion while covered in many battle scars and scorch wounds which he gained throughout the duration of the battle. He was even seen gasping for air and shrieking out in agony as he fell to one knee, lowering his head down unable to lift up his neck and keep an upright position. His father's eyes widened speechlessly, seeing the state of his son, whom he loved with all his heart and yet had allowed him to end up in his current state. Many dark thoughts began to flood Dr Z's mind as though a wave of reality had washed over him and he began to question himself what right would he deserve to be called Dinosaur King if he wasn't even a good father to his own dinosaur!

"Way to go Captain!"

"Set that tyrant on fire!"

"You're the man! The real hero!"

"Blaze! Blaze! Blaze!"

Everyone then cheered out rooting for Blaze, their hot hearted hero to turn Dr Z to ash, uncaring about Dr Z anymore.

"I knew you could do it honey!" Marina cried out, feeling the baby in her womb kicking out with energy and excitement too as if he could feel the fiery spirit of his dad resonating with his own.

He seemed pretty eager to grant them their wish as he blushed sheepishly and waved back to them all, "Ehehehehe, aww you guys are too kind." He laughed with appreciation while Daigo stomped his feet in excitement too.

The cheers snapped Dr Z out of his faze, blinking hi eyes repeatedly he gritted his teeth in anger forgetting about his dinosaur in pain, "Just look at them, they're cheering them on and not me….unbelievable!" He snarled fiercely believing he could do much better than the overrated fire captain any day of the year….till hearing the sound of his dinosaur groan out in agony got his attention

"Or maybe….it's no big surprise…." As he looked at himself and his dinosaur's current condition, and then back to Blaze and Daigo looking as though they were having fun not just for themselves but also giving back to the masses, he was starting to see that the people were loving him because he gave back to them. What he did was never solely for himself but was for everyone and how it came full circle….while all he did was demand admiration from everyone yet he never gave back to them in turn, a completely one sided mindset the more he thought about it, "What he said…..For the people…." As he continued to reflect on every word uttered out from that loudmouthed Blaze was true to the letter, Dr Z found no way of denying anything he said, and it frustrated him to no end as he hissed through his teeth as if seething pain from an emotional wound inflicted on his heart and soul, "Tch! I can't believe I'm actually saying this but….he's right…." He hissed crushingly through his breath. The more he thought about it the more he began to wonder whether he was no more than a bogus king or self proclaimed leader who merely made the title up himself rather than do anything to truly earn it….maybe he did deserve to be forgotten to the winds of time after all, no way would anyone respect or worship him or the Alpha Gang after this…..

"Grampa!"

"Huh?" He widened his eyes hearing what sounded like Rod and Laura call to him from somewhere. And it wasn't just their voices too.

"Dr Z! Don't give in!"

"You can still beat him!"

"Even if everyone turns their backs win you we'll still be by your side!"

Dr Z widened his eyes upon hearing what sounded like the cries of his loved ones echoing out to him, "Those voices…." As if they began to resonate with his very spirit there and then. They were willing to give him their best support and were willing to stand by his side because they knew the kind of person he wasn't and accepted him. He then came across a stunning revelation, that all along he did indeed have loyal faithful followers for along time, but more than that they were his own family. After all he was the one who brought them all together, giving them hope once and thus they responded to him in turn. And all this time he took them for granted for so long….to think he actually had the nerve to call himself King because he felt himself worthy when it was they who helped make him the man he was today as he did for them!

"Is this what it means to fight for others and to carry on their wishes like a real king?" He wondered to himself as a loud growl from ahead also got his attention. Looking ahead he gasped to see Therizinosaurus working his way back up on his feet and raring to fight again, as he looked to his Father, with eyes showing a glow of loyalty and faith in him. "Son…." Dr Z breathed feeling emotionally moved, even with what he put his boy through just now he was still willing to give his all and fight by his side to the end. He then smirked to himself after letting it all sink in, "Heh, all along I did have loyal followers and yet because of my own pride and selfish arrogance I didn't realise or appreciate them." He chuckled at the irony at trying to earn favour from countless random strangers yet failing to realise he was already a champion in his family's books. Opening his eyes with determination, he made a vow to take a new step to fight not merely for himself alone, but for everyone else too. Mustering up his courage and readying himself, he yelled " Hey you! Blaze!"

"Hmm?" The fire captain looked back to him surprised by his name being called by Dr Z, as the cheering then stopped as they all looked on curious for what Dr Z had to say for himself, while others eyed him with scorn and disgust wanting him to just lose already so they could congratulate their real winner.

Dr Z took in a breath and yelled out at the top of his lungs in frustration while shaking out his fists like a child throwing a tantrum, "Listen up because I'm not going to repeat myself!"

"Oh? What's that?" Blaze replied as he awaited his answer, while still maintaining his expression of disappointment at him, believing it was too late for Dr Z now and there could be little hope of him making a change to their impression off him….or so he would think.

He gritted his teeth almost in pain as what he was about to do next would haunt him "Every word you said about me, you're right. I've had it wrong all this time and I'm….actually grateful to you for opening my eyes." He spat at the end which stunned the entire world speechlessly.

"Huh?"

"Eh!?"

"Oh my!" Aki, Reese and Mrs Drake covered their mouths in surprise, more reserved than the men but still deeply surprised on the inside.

"Is Dr Z showing gratitude!?" Spike and Dr Owen exclaimed.

"That's something I never thought he was ever capable of!" Ancient gasped.

"Quick honey! Document this for the record books!" Cretacia suddenly cried out as she took out a notepad and began to write it down while Ancient was even thinking of taking out his camera to record down every word he said this very moment.

Back down at the arena, Dr Z gritted his teeth as though he were suffering, sick to his stomach for actually being vulnerable and to admit his wrongs….how deeply he wished he could take it back, but every fibre of his being resisted doing that as he knew what truly had to be done if he were to be an actual king. Having taken this step and crossing a line he can't come back from he was determined to see it though as he took in a deep breath and sighed out, "What you said about the difference between a king and a dictator you were right." He stated feeling he was about to throw up but he quickly swallowed his pride.

"All this time I'll admit my goal of being dinosaur king was something I wished to make for myself ever since the day I joined the Ancients on their expedition to the past….And I wanted to make a name for myself in my old age, I didn't want to be remembered as merely tourist on this revolutionary opportunity that may only come once in a lifetime! So if you really want the truth then there you have it!" Dr Z screamed his head off admitting the whole truth. A truth that actually stunned everyone speechless upon hearing his words, especially those of the Ancients of the D Team….though Cera having heard him admit this to her a long while back, remained firm, and while she didn't approve of his actions in the slightest such as committing treason against his friends, she was at least happy he took responsibility for his actions. "However, there's just 1 thing you're wrong about," Dr Z then added, "As it turns out I've already got those who are willing to stand at my side to the end of time! They practically adore me, if I ordered I bet they'd even jump into the deepest ocean or off a cliff and into the mouth of a volcano!" He boasted out to the masses making Ed and Zander back at the hospital widen their eyes in disbelief at his words!

"EH!?"

The others in his family were rather put off by his words just as much as they were, "Gee….thanks?" Rod scratched the back of his head unsure of what to think of it while Laura and their parents looked to one another questioningly.

"Dr Z, you really ought to work on his bedside manners…." Blaze raised an eyebrow at Dr Z's way, "Is that supposed to make them feel appreciated?"

"I wasn't finished!" The old man retorted before sighing once again, "But then again, all this time I've not only been blind to the followers I've already had but I've taken them for granted." Z then sniffled covering his eyes with his arm, as drops of emotional tears fell from his lab coat sleeve, before he threw out his arm and sported a more determined and strong expression, "But no more! From this point on I'll show you the power of a REAL dinosaur king!" He declared firmly as he pointed at himself, "One that fights for those who would never leave his side and will give back to not only his subjects but his own family too!" Therizinosaurus then shrieked out as he felt his spirit resonate with that of Dr Z's, intending to carry out his father's noble wish to the end and with the best of his abilities as he exploded in an aura of bright light and appeared in his awakened form for all the world to see!

"Oh my! An awakened secret dinosaur! What an incredible development!" The MC flabbergasted as everyone else started with unblinking eyes at a sight they never thought was possible!

"An awakened secret dinosaur….amazing…." Maia breathed as Lunensis nodded in agreement with her.

"That light is as radiant as the day I first witnessed it." He never forgot the day he first laid eyes on him, the fact Dr Z had the only secret dinosaur capable of awakening, truly a marvel for all dinosaur kind.

"Wow…who knew Dr Z had it in him…." Dr Owen commented as he leaned in and pushed up his glasses for a clearer look.

"Yeah, when I heard the rumours I never believed them…till now…." Ancient whistled.

"Therizinosaurus was already powerful by himself but to tap into this much power, there's no telling what will happen now!" The MC declared unsure of what to make of the match now.

Everyone was amazed, never before had there been another secret dinosaur with the power to awaken, others heard rumours but never believed them till now and it was broadcasted worldwide for all to see as it began to restore hope and faith in Dr Z himself! As though the light of redemption had shone upon him at last.

"He really does love us!"

"I knew it was right to never give up on him!"

"Alright!"

"You go get him Dr Z!"

"Put him in his place gramps!" His family all cheered him on with all their very heart and soul!

Hearing their words echo deep in his heart Dr Z placed a hand to his chest fully acknowledging the responsibility that comes with the title and then grinning eagerly to give back to them for helping to get him this far, "Now let us see who truly wants to win more for those they stand for!" He pointed out at Blaze declaring a challenge while putting his honour on the line in the process.

Marina gasped covering her mouth with her hands feeling worried now about her husband's chances, not expecting this development at all to occur while Blaze himself, smirked with satisfaction to see this was what he was hoping for at last, "Looks like you've finally gotten it." Becoming the hero he believed in when he was younger, now hopefully he will be able to create the Dinosaur Kingdom with real vision in mind, "Alright then Dr Z, we'll take you up on your challenge!" He responded to the old man as Daigo roared out fiercely in response to Therizinosaurus shrieked back at him!

Both dinosaurs charged at one another with Daigo lunging forth aiming to bite down, and Therizinosaurus crossing his claws in front of him as the tyrannosaur bit into them! They both engaged in a lock for several seconds, neither able to push the other from their respective positions, before Therizinosaurus mustered the energy to throw off Daigo and sending him back, forcing him to dig his claws into the ground to stabilise himself!

"Want to play that way? Heh fine let's play!" Blaze smirked as he was prepared to accept his challenge, for the real battle begins now! "Go heat eruption!" Daigo stomped his foot on the ground and roared to the sky summoning a shower of meteors from the sky as they began to crash down on the earth around them, setting wildfires ablaze with some crashing into the ground around them causing fire eruptions upon impact and others heading towards Dr Z!

Fearlessly he crossed his arms forward, "Slash through them all with claw blade!" Therizinosaurus shone brightly as his claws increased in size! As the meteors coming his way came in range he sliced through them like paper with ease as they flew off him harmlessly! He kept swinging his arms repeatedly cleaving apart meteor by meteor as they came!

Yet they still kept coming as Daigo continued to summon them forth from the skies and he showed little to no signs of stopping! "Keep going Daigo! We just need one to land and then we win!" His words had everyone on the edge of their seats, it was clear Daigp had no limit to the meteors he could call forth at this time, with Therizinosaurus lacking ranged attacks no way could he get him at this distance. Plus unlike Daigo there was only so long he could keep defending himself, once his stamina ran red his movements would slow and the chances of him getting hit would increase as well!

"Tch! We can't keep holding out forever…." Dr Z grunted realising he was right about that and seeing Blaze's plan too, not to mention he and Therizinosaurus were already exhausted and on the brink themselves so the odds were stacked against them. He suddenly had a brilliant yet at the same time insane idea hatch inside his decrepit old mind, question is whether it would work….He shook his head and gritted his teeth casting out any doubts in the process, no way he could hesitate now plus if they did nothing they would be done for anyways due to those cursed black flames from just now. "Son!" He called out getting his dinosaur's attention, as they met eye to eye, "Do you trust me on this?"

Seeing the look in his eyes and his very spirit, Therizinosaurus nodded putting his full faith in his father to which he grinned and cackled with delight, "Hehehehe, this time I'm going to bet everything in this one final move that will end this match in a grand finale!" He said getting everyone's attention, "It's what the people here want after all isn't it?" He snickered, having no regrets for even if he were to lose he would go down in a blaze of glory and immortalise himself before the future generations the right way! "It's all or nothing therizinosaurus! And don't worry I'll be by your side till the end of this!" He cried out to his son assuringly as he gave his command! "Go gyro claw!" Flashing in a rainbow aura, Therizinosaurus flared out his massive long claws already enhanced by Claw blade before spinning in a rapid tornado and spiralling towards Daigo and Blaze to their alarm!

"AH!" They stared in disbelief as Therizinosaurus and Dr Z ploughed through the meteor shower with ease! As each one exploded on contact Therizinosaurus emerged unscathed through each one, the explosions around him barely slowing him down as he spun rapidly and sped towards Daigo undeterred in the least!

"He's running the gauntlet!?"

"Has he lost it!?"

"No way!"

"He's slicing through them like paper!"

"Nothing's slowing him down!" They all gasped in disbelief at what they were witnessing firsthand.

Despite this, Blaze while initially shocked then grinned feeling his blood pumping and his battling spirit awakened and answering Z's! "Heh incredible….I can really feel my very soul roaring, screaming that I respond with everything too!" He yelled out slashing a move card just as Therizinosaurus came in close to three they were! "Quick! Fire bomb!" On cue Daigo leaping the air with fire erupting from his jaws to Dr Z's alarm!

"WAH!"

"Gotcha!" He yelled as Daigo spun down right when Therizinosaurus stopped spinning and was slightly dizzy from his move, leaving him wide open and unbalanced!

"No! Not by a long shot!" Dr Z then growled refusing to back down after coming this far! He thrusted up his arm with all his might! "Claw impaler!" Regaining his focus at the last minute, Therizinosaurus swung his rm out shooting his huge claws at Daigo, whose jaws grabbed hold of them causing a massive explosion to erupt on contact which enveloped them both!

BOOM!

"AAAAH!" Everyone cried as they could feel the very impact shake the stadium violently and the pressure blow their way!

As the explosions settled, everyone looked up and waited in anticipation as the smoke slowly began to clear, with shadows slowly being made out from within the dust clouds.

"Wh…Who won?" Cera asked herself as tension and silence came upon the entire arena and audience.

The smoke cleared and vision restored, Dr Z and Blaze were both shown panting exhaustedly, having used up all the remaining power they had, with Therizinosaurus and Daigo still standing where they were. Seconds passed and both dinosaurs stared down one another glaring with hostility, till Therizinosaurus staggered and began to topple!

"AH!" Everyone held their breath and gasped believing the match was decided, including Dr Z himself as he widened his eyes believing the unthinkable occured…. till Therizinosaurus held an arm down to keep himself from falling at the last moment!

They were taken by surprise, while Dr Z breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn't over….yet.

"Urgh…." Daigo then let out a loud bellow at Dr Z and Therizinosaurus, as Blaze then grinned with satisfaction, "Heh….looks like you win old timer…." He muttered with no hard feelings as Daigo lost consciousness and groaned in pain as he toppled to the ground, his awakened form wearing off and him being reverted to a card as the battlefield disappeared.

Everyone stared in speechless disbelief and unblinking eyes, trying to process it all they didn't know what was more unbelievable the fact Blaze lost or that Dr Z actually won it!

"I…I won?" Dr Z blinked his eyes trying to process the outcome before unleashing every ounce of positive energy and joy within every fibre of his being! "I mean….I WON! AHAHHAHAHAHA!" He laughed as the crowds clapped and appluaded, not simply for Dr Z winning but for the awesome match and plot twist that happened at the end! Some of them even had their faith in Dr Z restored too.

"A…And the winner is none other than the dinosaur king himself Dr Z!" The MC stuttered for a moment before managing to get that declaration out at last.

"Yay gramps!"

"You did it Dr Z!" The Alpha Gang all cheered for him followed by some of his other friends who were present.

"I don't believe my eyes…."

"Hehehehe, a fine match it was though."

"Mhmm…." They all said feeling happy for him and maybe his dream wasn't that farfetched for him after all.

"Still he could learn to act with more dignity and restraint." Jonathan muttered with disapproval as Dr Z began posing and getting Therizinosaurus to pose too for the cameras and photos too!

"Well I guess even an old dog can learn new tricks huh?" Cretacia commented.

"Indeed….heh he sure knows how to surprise us all one way or another…." Ancient added, feeling that he could at last reconcile with his old friend and fully accept his dream as a noble one now.

Max smiled for a bit before frowning feeling a little nervous himself, "I'm kinda worried if one of us has to face him next round…." he gulped nervously.

"We'll worry about it when the time comes…." Rex replied to Max before narrowing his eyes seriously knowing the now was coming very soon for him, "For now….I'd better get ready myself." For his match with Ursula was drawing near, and he knew he would need every edge he could, as he reached into his pocket and held out a move card in his hand, one he felt he ought to bring with him just in case, a special idea he learnt after seeing Cera's battle with Kaze and he intended to use every edge he could.

As Blaze returned back to the Captains' side, he scratched the back off his head feeling a little bad for losing, "Aww sorry Marina….I really wanted to win…but maybe if I-"

He was stopped when Marina pulled him in for a warm comforting hug, "You fought well Blaze," She said to him before rubbing her belly, "And I could feel it too from within, we both couldn't be more proud of you and what you've managed to accomplish today."

Hearing her words made Blaze smile feeling more at ease as he nodded accepting this loss, "Yeah, I have no regrets either." He said before looking ahead to Dr Z hugging Therizinosaurus on his leg as the great beast leaned down to lick him with affection as he giggled with laughter, "At least he does truly love his dinosaur…and hopefully he'll now begin to care more for others too….." Blaze thought seeing hope for their future, given Dr Z was to be their pioneer in dino society alongside Dr Ancient. While Z may not show it, but his words were true as the light in his heart which now shone brightly deep down.

(Meanwhile)

Back at the hospital in Ed's room, the Alpha Gang and family were cheering with much positive energy and excitement to see Dr Z triumph over Blaze as they clapped and applauded with every fibre of their being, with their 3 chibi dinosaurs jumping up barking with enthusiam themselves.

"You did it grampa!"

"YAY!" Rod and Laura cheered with the excitement and enthusiasm a young kid ought to have as their parents smiled on for them with such bright faith in Dr Z, their faith restored and so was their own. The way Steve and Caroline looked on with joy and hope, was a purity in Dr Z they hadn't seen since ages, especially to Steve given how his adopted father was also his best man during his wedding too, among his 4 adoptive kids he was his favourite after all.

Still that didn't stop his other kids from showing their support for him any less, "You're like a real king now!" Zander punched up to the sky with an energetic grin.

Ed then clapped his hands together and smiled with sparkly eyes, "Hey, when he gets his crown maybe I should be his royal advisor or maybe personal vanguard!"

Zander then gained a tic mark on his forehead and glared back at his injured friend, "No way! I deserve that spot! I'd go the distance for him!"

Ed then growled back in response, "Yeah!? I'd go to infinity and beyond!" They both bashed heads together as sparks of envy flared between them both!

The only one in the family who wasn't going with the flow was Ursula, as she remained rather calm looking on the screen from outside the room door unbeknownst to the family.

Seeing the crowds just eating it up, it was understandable they'd cheer for Blaze but to show support for a nut like Dr Z puzzled her, "Look at them, they just love him…they can't get enough of him and Blaze…." She commented feeling happy for them before frowning slightly as she lowered her head in thought, "Just what do they have that I don't?" She asked herself, but not with jealousy, instead with a sense of both humility and curiosity. Something she was able to do now that she was out of the spa and could think more clearly but also the experience at the end of her previous match got her to really rethink herself if she wanted people to adore her like she always wanted.

As she began to look back on her own match and compared it to Dr Z and Blaze's she had a much more clear mind in self reflection as she slowly began to understand, "I think maybe I do know now….As to whether I'll be able to achieve it…." She thought to herself before shaking her head clearing out her thoughts, "Well, maybe I'll find out in my battle with Rex soon enough." She told herself as she excused herself but not before holding out a certain card in her hand before putting it in her pocket while making her way out of the hospital and to the stadium.

And with the conclusion of the second final match, Dr Z avenge Ed and restores the Alpha Gang's honour. There's no denying Dr Z, while harsh his training methods are for his dinosaurs, they have been effective for them. Also decided to call Rod and Laura's parents Steve and Caroline. Also enjoyed the round the world experience with the Cretaceous Cuisine? Can look back to previous episodes like Maui Owie, Mesozoic Mess, Volcanic Panic, Kyoto Caper and Dance Evolution to see all the cultural arts again.

Stay tuned for the final battle of Round 2! You can be sure things will take a surprising turn next chapter for sure.

Well Ed was able to find a chink in Craig's defences so the battle wasn't so one sided, plus he put up a great effort too showcasing the Alpha Gang's tenacity and endurance too. Nice pokemon reference but was thinking more from when Pikachu used iron tail to force Bunnelby out.

I can confirm the Alpha gang will be going through quite a lot of development in these battles to come.

Wow that's a good pun hehe. Glad to excite you in this duel, also I don't want it to be just brawling and violence but even include some character growth and depth too.

Good reference for the heel, can agree Craig at times is the Face and sometimes the Heel.

As for your question yes Dr Z can handle Blaze though only just barely.
