That night was the first of many nights where he didn't have any nightmares but instead, he had happy dreams, dreams about what life might hold for him. Maybe he would get a job get married have kids or maybe just travel the world. This started to change his life little by little even though he didn't want to accept it, he had been shaped by what had happened to him as a kid, the thing he couldn't shake was starting to disappear from his life.

3 weeks went by like a bolt of lightning ever since he made his first real friend in 3 years. During those 3 weeks it started to become easier to make new friends, but these friends he didn't trust as much. Gregor knew if it was a life or death situation they would most likely leave him for dead. Even though he knew that he still liked being included. Also during that time his friend Ella had started to grow on him, she was the first person to be nice to him and he started to enjoy being around her.

This feeling distracted him from the Underland for probably too long he was starting to have a hard time remembering what happened down there. The only things that Gregor could never forget are his mentor Ripred, his bat who sacrificed his life to let Gregor and the rest of the Sunderland live, and lastly, he would never forget his first and only lover Luxa how could he forget her he loved her so much he was willing to die for her.

Anyway, life was going amazing for Gregor he had good grades he had friends he even was running track, but this all changed on a quiet nice day it was like 60 degrees in the winter and sunny which was kinda unusual. He walked into his home from school to see his little sister Lizzie in a heated argument with his mom and dad in the living room, he only heard tiny parts of it when he walked into the living room.

Lizzie screamed "I'm going back to the Underland and theirs nothing you can do to stop me"

His mom responded with " No your not young missy, also how would you get there your not even old enough to drive!"

" Gregor will drive me I know he wants to go back"

Gregor didn't know if he wanted to go back to the Underland. Gregor was supper conflicted he could either stay where he is with his new friends and know that he will be safe almost every night, or he could go to the Underland where he would have his old friends and his lover or he might not.

Lizzie went up to Gregor in front of their mom and dad and asked " Gregor can you please take me to the Underland, we will get to see luxa."

" If mom wants us to stay here we have to listen to her"

Lizzie's face went from a happy grin to a sad frown and Gregor thought he saw a small tear drip down the sad 11-year-olds face. She just turned and said," Gregor you changed in a not-so-good way. I don't think I know you anymore!"

With that Lizzie ran to her room. That fight had hit Gregor right in the heart he felt like a monster he had just said he didn't want to go back to the place he swore he would try to never leave. He didn't even know himself anymore and what was he going to do now live his life and forget about the past and live in the now.

Gregor being very conflicted he went to his next-door neighbor who happened to be his new best friend Ella for some help. When he got to her house he knocked on the door and Ella's mom answered the door with a grin on her face.

Ella's mom just said" Hello Gregor what is the reason your here today"

" I'm here just to talk to Ella"

" Ellas upstairs in her room, now you two have fun"

With that he walked right into her house, of course, this was not his first time over at her house so he knew his way around quite a bit. When he got to Ella's room he knocked and an annoyed reply followed " who is it"

Gregor feeling a little mad from his earlier experience today responded with " Who do you think it is stupid"

Before Gregor could get the last word out the door flung open to reveal a teenager just in their undergarments. Once Gregor saw Ella he instantly shut the door and whispered so only that she could hear "put some clothes on and once you're done with that I need to talk to you about something."

About 4 minutes later the door opened and Gregor walked into her room but this time he saw Ella wearing a beautiful but short dress. He was astonished at how good she looked she was looking stunning she was wearing a, he just pushed those thoughts out of his head he needed someone to talk to.

"Ok you might be wondering why I came here to speak with you, well it's because I just need someone to listen to me."

" Whatever you need I will do for you gregy"

So Gregor just started to speak about his problems like having fights with his family, being alone almost all the time, and lastly not fitting into school here in Virginia. While this was happening Ella started to skootch next to Gregor eventually Gregor just couldn't handle the stress and pressure that was being put onto him, he just need a hug. He eventually got his hug from Ella which felt great, and after that, he just laid on her bed while Ella just rubbed his hair.

Gregor loved that someone cared for him he started to like Ella but just not as a friend but as something more maybe even someday something might happen to them.

After he had said his goodbyes he headed straight home running past his sisters and his mom and dad, which had been worried sick because of his disappearance into his room closing and locking his door.
