KellHound270's Work

\_|_/

Sorry for the absence, everyone! I lost my focus on the story, as I needed to 'unwind,' and things got a bit out of hand. But I'm back, and I'd like to start off with a challenge.

I'd like you to draw your favorite moment from the Monarchs of Earth storyline and send the art to me. Send it via DeviantArt, and I'll feature it in my 2020 Challenge album. Every piece of work I receive will be put into the album. If you don't want to draw or you just can't draw, that's OK too, just tell me your favorite Monarchs of Earth moment in a review!

That's all! Enjoy, and please R&R!

Chapter VI

Godzilla growled in righteous fury as he approached Atlas. His own brother lied about his death, and wanted to usurp his power.

Godzilla charged up his Atomic Breath and fired it at Atlas. SpaceGodzilla activated his energy shield and nullified the attack. Godzilla's anger welled up again as he charged and attacked his brother. Atlas had gained a lot of strength, so he actually had an edge over his brother.

Godzilla pushed against Atlas as much as he could, but the shorter reptile was overpowering him. Godzilla decided to get closer and bite into Atlas' neck, using his atomic energy to make the injury worse. The wound was set aflame with blue fire, and Atlas jumped back with a loud scream.

Atlas, however, was not so easily dissuaded.

SpaceGodzilla took a step forward and slashed his claw at Godzilla so fast, Godzilla was unable to avoid the attack. Godzilla screeched in pain, but he pushed past the pain and retaliated with similar speed, creating deep claw marks on SpaceGodzilla's head crystal. Atlas growled angrily and grabbed Godzilla by the neck and continued pushing him, but Godzilla was ready and pushed Atlas' arms off before slamming his open palm into his brother's chest, throwing the smaller reptile a few meters.

As they fought, Dalai and Panchen moved in to assess the situation and decide if they should assist Godzilla. However, Krystalak and Obsidius took their movements as a threat and charged them. The larger Dalai growled and readied himself for a fight against Obsidius, while the faster Panchen coiled his body like a spring, ready to attack Krystalak.

Despite the strength that Atlas had gained from the crystals, Godzilla was overpowering him with faster movements and more strategic movements. Atlas could hardly block the attacks, much less retaliate. With as much strength as he could muster, Godzilla grabbed Atlas by the tail and threw him towards the crystal fortress, expecting his brother's mass to crush the construct.

However, SpaceGodzilla's body never even got close to the fortress, as his body began to glow with red positricity. Atlas righted himself in the air, and floated effortlessly above the ground.

SpaceGodzilla could fly!

Monarch Base of Operations, Monster Island

The entire crew of the base was silent with shock. SpaceGodzilla had mastered the art of flight without the use of wings.

"What the hell?" Stanton muttered.

"It must have something to do with the positricity," Ox suggested. "I mean, we've never seen the positive version of electricity before, so who knows what it's capable of."

"His body is glowing red, so he must be using it somehow," Marcus stated. "Ghidorah's electricity was so powerful that it created gravity wells, so who says the polar opposite can't happen because of the opposing forces?"

"Sounds legit to me," a familiar voice said. Mark Russell stood in the doorway, alongside Ken and Madison.

"Mark!" Jon half-ran to them and extended his hands. "I was worried. You alright?"

"Just a bit shaken up, some more than others. The injured personnel were already admitted to the infirmary."

Ken let himself be hugged by the worried Jon, but Madison was too shaken up. She just walked over to the monitor, where SpaceGodzilla was attacking Godzilla with beams of positricity while being suspended in midair.

"Madison?" Ling was also worried. "Are you alright?"

She shook her head, telling them she wasn't OK. She turned to look at them.

"I can hear him, in my head," she said, her nose bleeding and her eyes tearing up. "He wants to kill his brother, and prove his ability as an alpha."

"Who, Madison?" Jon walked up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Who wants to kill his brother?"

Madison held up a shaky finger at the monitor. As she did, SpaceGodzilla appeared and blasted Godzilla again with his positric beam.

"SpaceGodzilla?" Stanton asked.

"No," she replied with a breaking voice. "Atlas."

As soon as she said that, her eyes rolled back in her head and she fell to the ground, spasming uncontrollably.

"Madison!" Ken and Mark knelt down by her to try and get her back to consciousness. "Madison, wake up sweetie!"

"Oh, my God," Jon whispered, his expression blank. "It can't be."

"What is it, Jon?" Henry asked.

"She called SpaceGodzilla 'Atlas,'" he replied.

"Oh no," Ling realized. "How is it possible?"

"What are you all talking about?" Ox asked.

Ling looked at her fiance.

"Atlas was Godzilla's brother."

SpaceGodzilla Crash Site, Tibet, China

Despite the rough pounding that SpaceGodzilla was giving, Godzilla was holding strong. Through all the positric beams and harsh tail slashes, Godzilla remained standing. Although Atlas was doing as much as he could to make his brother fall, the King would not falter.

Atlas realized that he wasn't going to win against Juno's offspring with traditional fighting techniques. Godzilla had counters to each and every move that SpaceGodzilla had, and he was even able to power through Atlas' positric beams. If Atlas was going to win, he had to play dirty.

Arcs of red positricity formed between Atlas and the crystal fortress. The sudden influx of energy to the crystals caused a rapid growth beneath Godzilla's feet. The shifting rocks cracked and turned over as the crystals grew from the rock and trapped Godzilla in a field of crystallic spikes.

Seeing the King entrapped, Dalai and Panchen fought past Obsidius and Krystalak and slithered to the crystals, breaking as many as they could to free Godzilla. SpaceGodzilla was obviously angry at them, but Dalai bravely fought to keep him at bay while Panchen helped Godzilla break free.

As strong as Atlas was, the loyal Dalai was even more resilient. Each claw swipe was met with a swift bite. Each blast of positricity left Atlas open to attack from Dalai's fiery breath. Atlas simply couldn't sustain a fight in his rapidly weakening state, and threw Dalai off of him, and onto the crystal spikes.

Dalai roared in pain, and tried to get off the spikes, but they had a solid grip on him. His brother, seeing the approaching SpaceGodzilla, launched himself at the extraterrestrial Godzilla and distracted him long enough for Godzilla to free himself. However, Krystalak and Obsidius were quickly approaching, and things were looking bleak for the King and his companions.

Until he received help.

A white light appeared in the sky, blinding everyone and pausing the battle. The light swiftly flew down to grab Dalai and pull him off the spikes. After freeing the dragon, the light fired a single blast of cosmic energy at Krystalak and Obsidius to slow them down. Godzilla grabbed the wounded Dalai and called Panchen to retreat, while the light distracted SpaceGodzilla and his minions.

When Godzilla and his compatriots were safe, the light ceased it's attack and rocketed into the night sky. Atlas looked around in anger, seeing his failed attempt to kill his brother.

No matter. He could always try again.
