She hadn't said anything to her friends, they would have disapproved, tried to match her up with some friends of theirs, it would have been a fiasco, they would have pitied her, she would have cried, it would have made things worse, and she didn't want that.

It would be her little secret.

That day, when she got home, she was welcomed by a silent house except for a happy dog. Plue, her small white dog was jumping everywhere, shaking happily his little tail.

She had gotten him after her mom's death, her father wasn't happy with it but couldn't take away the puppy at the risk of seeing his only daughter run away from home again.

Her father had once been a successful businessman, but had been taken down from money embezzlement. He had barely escaped prison, by giving all of their material possessions.

On one day, they lost everything; they had no roof over their heads, no money, and just a bag of clothes, because he had been too greedy.

Luckily for them, a gentle maid of theirs had taken them in, in her father's home. For a few months, Lucy's father had worked without counting hours, with just a few hours of sleep a week. He had worked hard to repent himself for putting his daughter through everything.

Lucy was a kind girl, and while she was still angry for losing their home where her mother had been buried, she had forgiven him because she had seen how hard he was working for her.

After a few months, he had been able to buy a small house, out of the town in a pitiful state. They both had worked hard to put it back in shape.

Now she lived in a lovely house, in a small neighborhood, she loved it. The mansion they had been living in had been so cold next to their small cottage.

She had worked hard herself during two summers to get a few decorative items. It was cute, cute enough to invite friends over.

She greeted Plue with a few pets, and took a moment to look around the small house. She sighed. She missed her mother, but she couldn't say she wasn't happy. She just wished she had more company.

She quickly climbed the small stairs and got to her bedroom. It was tiny, but her bed, her desk and her small bookcase fitted.

She jumped onto her bed and plugged in her phone. She had heard a girl, one day, complementing a dating application, and after seeing the good comments, she decided to download it too.

"Maps love application, the one who knows where you're going"

The inscription was easy, and she had no problem signing as a nineteen year old. She looked old enough to pass as a young adult, and she doubted finding a good guy on it anyway.

"Welcome Lucy, are you more of a grape, a cherry, a pear, a peach or a blueberry ?"

Lucy's eyebrows shot to her hairline at that, what did that meant?

After paying more attention to the screen, she learned that a grape meant an open-relationship, a Cherry trying to find a paramour, a pear a serious relationship, a peach a one-time thing and a blueberry a sex-friend.

The blonde had hesitated. In the end, did she really fit on this type of application? Before she could even choose her fruit, a notification rang on her phone. Someone had just sent her a message.

Curious, she quickly checked the pear and got to her message's section.

Constellationist entered the chat.

PoisonBitch : Heya, how you doin?

You look damn good, wanna met ?

Before Lucy could even respond, the man sent another message.

PoisonBitch : Oh nevermind, you checked the pear. Forget about it.

PoisonBitch left the chat.

Lucy sighed. She had no luck on dating app either. Had she been cursed or something ?

Vexed, the girl sent her phone flying on her pillow. Hiding her head in her crossed arms, she started swearing loudly, really loudly. Not that she would have met with the guy, he was a jackass, but she thought for the first message it could have been better.

Deceived, she left her phone charging and started doing her homework instead. She was one of the best students of her year, had the best grades, studied hard and teachers loved her. She would like to conserve her title.

At first, she had been awfully teased for being smart, but it quickly calmed down when she started helping one of the football player with his literature classes. Elfman, one of the stars of the team, was well known for his chivalry, and hated guys teasing girls. Especially when they were as nice as Lucy, or so he had told her. She had hoped he would ask her on a date, but he didn't, she was friends with both of his sisters, that made her part of his family, or so he had told her. She still didn't know if it was true or if it was just a pretext. The guy was nice, not the best at studies but definitely a golden heart.

Her phone beeped again when she was highly concentrated on her history essay. She ignored it, in a hurry to finish her homework quickly.

She saw Plue running down the stairs and heard the front door open and close. Her dad was back from work. She jumped out of her chair and followed her dog's steps.

Her dad looked tired, but he smiled and greeted his daughter. While her relationship had been tense in the past, it was slowly getting better, making them happier.

"What do you think of Chinese tonight?"

"Weren't we supposed to save money to renovate the garage door?"

"Yes, but we have been savings for the past three months, I think we deserve to treat ourselves."

A small smile took place on her face. Since losing their money, times had been hard and small take outs were rare but so enjoyable.

"Why don't you go wash-up while I order ?"

The dating app was quickly forgotten for Chinese food.

It was late when she got to bed, almost eleven. Late for a student. She mechanically checked for messages from her friends, when she saw thirty notifications coming from Maps Love. Intrigued, she opened the app and saw a torrent of messages pouring onto her account.

What the heck ?

She opened the first one.

Constellationist entered the chat.

WallyDandy : Hey beautiful, wanna meet up ?

Constellationist left the chat.

Second one.

Constellationist entered the chat.

Hoteye : Do you like money ? I have a good plan for you, what do you think about posing for nudes?

Constellationist left the chat.

Third.

Constellationist entered the chat.

DanStraightForYou sent a picture.

Constellationist: Yuw.

Constellationist left the chat.

And the more she checked, the worse it got, until one conversation.

Constellationist joined the chat.

BlueMohawk : Hey, please don't block me

BlueMohawk : I'm with my friend and he is totally into you.

BlueMohawk : Wait !

BlueMohawk : That sounded bad, I'm sorry.

BlueMohawk : I'm with him, he saw your picture and he likes you and your presentation, he doesn't dare send you a message, so

BlueMohawk : If you want to check his profile, his name is ThunderGod.

BlueMohawk sent a picture.

Lucy laughed loud after seeing the picture. A blue haired guy with a medieval sallet on his face, tongues out next to his blonde annoyed friend.

Constellationist : Alright, I might check tomorrow it's getting late.

BlueMohawk : Gnight cheerleader.

She laughed again, the guy was funny. Eccentric but funny.

She might delete her cheerleader pic though.

Constellationist is offline.
