Wengie rushed as fast as she could to stop the situation from getting worse. She managed to get to an even level to save the creature. The Pokémon started flailing about as it was having difficulty seeing where it was going. Wengie looked up ahead and started to panic. A wild Gyarados was getting ready to chomp on the Pokémon. Wengie could not think of anything else to do. She reached in her bag, and threw a pokéball at the thrashing Pokémon. Wengie was relieved that the pokéball landed at the other side of the river bed.

Wengie went over to the pokéball to see if she had actually managed to catch a Pokémon. She was surprised to see that she had indeed caught a new Pokémon. Wengie rushed back to the Pokémon Center to heal her new Pokémon. When she arrived, Cameron and Machop were waiting in the lobby. Cameron asked if she was alright, and Wengie responded that she was ecstatic about her new capture. Cameron was stunned the Wengie had decided to catch a new Pokémon.

After Nurse Joy healed the newly captured companion, Wengie introduced the newest member of her team to Cameron and Machop. The new Pokémon turned its head away out of shyness. Wengie pulled out her pokedex to learn more about the creature. Wengie discovered that she had captured a Cubone. Machop walked over to greet the new friend; only to have his hand swatted by Cubone's club. Machop was about to retaliate, until Wengie stepped in and scolded Machop for needing to make a better effort to make friends with Cubone.

"So what are you planning on doing now then?" Cameron asked.

"I am not too sure on that. I would like to start training, but I do not think Cubone would like to battle as much as Machop does." Wengie answered.

"Only one way to find out. Have a practice battle to see if Cubone wants to participate." Cameron suggested.

"Not a bad idea. Ok you two, time to get some training in!" Wengie stated with excitement.

All of them headed to a park the next day to start training. Machop was getting in some stretches while Cubone just looked bewildered at what they would be doing. Machop faced Cubone and held out a fist, just to motion Cubone to make the first attack. Cubone understood what was happening and started to charge. Machop took a leap to dodge, but Cubone threw its club at Machop.

"Looks like Cubone knows how to battle already." Cameron stated.

"I guess so." Wengie commented.

"So I guess you should mention to Cubone what you do then huh?" Cameron wondered.

"I guess. I just don't know how to explain it to a Pokémon." Wengie shrugged at the concept.

"Maybe a video will help." Cameron advised.

"Ok then. Hey Cubone; I have something here I want to show." Wengie showed Cubone some of the videos she has posted. "And that is what I do for my battles. So maybe I was thinking that you could be part of our team and help with our style of battling. What do you say?" Wengie asked. Cubone turned its head in disgust. Wengie started to walk away slightly upset. Cubone took this opportunity to swing its club at Wengie's rear end.

"Looks like Cubone is in." Cameron chuckled.

"Funny. Now I wonder what moves Cubone knows?" Wengie questioned.

"Your pokedex should be able to tell you that." Cameron reminded.

"Ok then let us see. Cubone knows Bone Club, Headbutt, and….Thunder Punch?!" Wengie was surprised.

Wengie was thrilled to know that Cubone, a Pokémon who wanted to battle, knew a super effective move Misty's Gyarados. But now there was only so much time left before her rematch with Misty. And Wengie wanted to make her rematch with Misty to be amped up for her fans. Wengie decided that this would be the perfect time to make a video. Wengie got changed into her outfit of a two-pieced black jumpsuit with a pink mask and started to record.

"Hello there everybody. Sorry I have not been posting lately. I have been training for my rematch with Misty. She may have won the first time, but I will not allow her to humiliate me like that again. So Misty, you said that the public will give me a wedgie if I lose to you again. I have a counter deal for you; when I win, your sister will be giving you a 3-way wedgie until I am satisfied. We will have a two-on-two battle this time as I have a new trick up my sleeve. So I look forward to our rematch, as my next trick will be to make your winning streak disappear. Hope you like my latest performance ha ha ha." Wengie gloated.

After Cameron edited and posted the video, they headed back to Cerulean City to get something to eat. They managed to find a restaurant and went inside to dine in. many people inside the diner where looking at their recording devices to see the Wengie Wonderful Wedgies clip. Wengie was listening as people were either complaining or hoping Wengie would win or lose. She was starting to feel anxious about her battle with Misty again, but was more confident than she was before when they first battled.

A few days later, Misty had uploaded a video of her own. Wengie was thinking it was just another 'looking forward to it' style of video. However, Misty seemed to have shocked people with her style of content she just uploaded. Wengie decided to look at the video to see herself what the fuss was all about.

Misty started off by giving herself a small wedgie in her bathing suit. She then proceeded to explain that she is unable to fulfill Wengie's battle request. Apparently Misty has a last minute conference she has to attend to and cannot battle. So she decided to toy with Wengie with a tease. Misty did accept the rules of the battle, but changed the wager on Misty's part. While Misty is away, her sisters are to take on the gym leader responsibilities. So if Wengie beats on of Misty's sisters in a battle, then the sister that lost has to ask people to give her a wedgie instead.

Wengie thought about the offer. She knew that her secret weapon will still come in handy, so she commented on the video to accept the terms. Wengie then spent the rest of the day training. That night, Wengie looked at Cameron who was on a video call with his mother. Cameron was telling her that he picked up a small job editing someone's comedy and action videos. She was delighted that her son had found some work. Cameron's mom wanted to meet the person he was editing for, so Wengie walked over to introduce herself.

As soon as Wengie was visible on the screen, Cameron's mom had a few questions for her. Nothing too overwhelming; just what type of videos her son is editing and whatnot. Wengie kept it short and simple with her answers. She explained that she was challenging gym leaders and that her comedy routine was just insulting the gym leader in a playful matter. Cameron's mom just smiled and wished them the best in the future before ending the call. Cameron appreciated the Wengie did not go too into detail about the style of content they were doing.

Wengie asked what he means by that. Cameron shrugged and mentioned that he thinks his parents are not too supportive of his choices. Wengie was dumbfounded because that is the exact opposite that Cameron said when the first started. Cameron clarified that they are understanding of his choice to be an editor. But they are also concerned about doing it for free when he could be making this his career. Wengie nodded and the two of them went to get some sleep at the Pokémon Center.

The next morning, Wengie was awake and wanted to get some more training in. When she made it to the lobby, she was stunned to see the receptionist in the lobby too. The receptionist identified herself as Daisy and is one of Misty's sisters who will be battling against soon. Daisy just wanted to see if her opponent would be ready for a battle. Wengie did not seemed phased by this scare tactic in the slightest. Daisy just shrugged with her hands behind her head and walked away.

Normally when the sisters have to take over as gym leader, they just hand out a gym badge to whoever wants to challenge them. But seeing as this battle had an ante rule in place, it would be hard to dismiss it. For if they give the badge away to Wengie, the sisters would have to be wedgied so Misty does not find out about the false victory scheme they have been doing for a while now. So their only option is to win by any means necessary to keep up their charade. Because if Misty finds out, they are going to feel a severe wrath of Misty that none of them will ever be prepared for.

"Ok so look. We are not too fond of battles. We like doing water shows instead, that is our passion here. But Misty always has to go on these meetings and it puts a damper on our shows. So could you say you won but the footage got corrupted or something?" Daisy pleaded.

"No way! I am a Pokémon trainer challenging a Pokémon gym. The least you can do is take my challenge seriously!" Wengie said with disgust.

"No one is going to know. You can even say that one of us was given an ultra atomic wedgie or something. We just don't want to battle." Daisy argued.

"Well I do want a battle. And you should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to pull a stunt like this. You make Pokémon training seem like a joke and that you deem it as worthless!" Wengie stated.

"Well no one likes losing. So we decided to skip the heartache and get to the happy ending." Daisy cheered.

"Well, now my happy ending is going to be when I beat you in a battle and see you get what you deserve." Wengie started to walk away.

"Such a joy kill." Daisy muttered as she left the Pokémon Center.

Cameron entered the lobby shortly after. He noticed that Wengie was looking frustrated about something and asked what was wrong. She told him about the interaction with Daisy and Cameron understood why she was upset. Cameron thought of an idea that would make Wengie happy. He told her the plan and she was on board with the idea. Now all that was left was for Wengie to defeat the Cerulean gym.
