Author's Note: Hope everyone is enjoying the series so far. If anyone has any remarks as to what they like or do not like. Feel free to comment/review any input or thoughts you have so far. All opinions are welcomed, as all they can do is improve my writing and widen my view of how I can tell a story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter as there is some character devolvement in this one. Just a little fun fact: I was just going to make this a one off story with 8 chapters and just a Machop line. But I like this idea a lot better. Anyways, looking forward to hearing back from any of you. Have a wonderful day and I hope to hear you soon.
Wengie was getting ready for her battle with LT. Surge. Cameron stayed behind at the Pokémon Center to start getting ready for his position. Wengie was also equipped with some of the new technology Cameron had won. She was prepared for her match, and was not about to go down easily too.
Her new technology consisted of an auto pilot drone that can record videos. The drone lies on your arm and can be detached very easily. It can be paired with any pokedex so that you can send videos or pictures to anyone. Wengie also received a new back pack that can hold more of her belongings. This made it slightly easier to have her costume ready whenever she will need it. After her doppelganger incident, she could never be too careful.
As Wengie entered the gym, she header a few murmurs going around. She had a feeling it was about her challenging Surge. Although it could have been how she would lose to him instead. Either way, she was not going to back down from this challenge. The gym leader had entered the arena as well and welcomed the challenger. Wengie threw her arm to launch the drone to start the recording.
"LT. Surge; are you ready to get your butt whooped by a girl?!" Wengie called out.
"Now now little one; no need to have a hissy fit. The baby might cry and beg for mommy to come help." LT Surge taunted back.
"We will see who cries for their mommy after you lose." Wengie teased.
"A lot of spunk for a brat." The gym leader continued.
"Don't forget, that the loser of this battle gets the first ever Vermillion Wedgie." Wengie reminded.
"And don't you forget that when it comes to combat, that I am more than quipped to take on your wimpy Pokémon." Surge stated.
"Go, Machoke." Wengie called out.
Lt Surge sent out his Raichu. As the battle begun, Raichu landed a powerful Thunderbolt attack. Machoke tried to block it with his arms. Although the attack proved to be stronger than anticipated that Machoke had to move back several feet. Wengie knew she was going to need as much of an advantage that she could get. So her next move was to use Focus Energy.
The gym leader has learned from his past battles that he is going to need to use speed as well as power to use the most of the situation. With a lot of training, he had Raichu use its speed to the fullest potential it can have. Thus was able to out speed and dodge Machoke's attacks. Machoke was going for Karate Chop, but they were essentially useless if unable to land its mark. Wengie had to rely on a different tactic for this match.
She waited for Raichu to use a physical attack. When LT. Surge went to order Thunder Punch, Wengie waited for the right moment. As Raichu got closer, Wengie went for Revenge. Raichu was blown back by the power it had just witnessed. Shortly after, Raichu gave Machoke a look out of respect for knowing how strong Machoke really is. The gym leader saw this and went for their most powerful attack.
LT. Surge remembered back when he faced a challenger who had a Pikachu. He remembered how he called that trainer weak. At first Surge took the trainer for being weak for not evolving his Pokémon early on. That same trainer came right back and showed him that any Pokémon can be strong no matter at what stage its evolution is. That prompted the gym leader to train harder for the chance of a rematch. Thus Raichu learned a few new tricks ofr battles like these.
Raichu was commanded to use Volt Tackle. Wengie was scared at the sound of that attack. Machoke braced himself for such a move. As Raichu collided with its target, Wengie managed to call for a last minute Karate Chop. Machoke was able to land the move, but still took damage from the electric type Pokémon. Both Pokémon struggled to stay standing. Machoke was the first to go down. Raichu followed suit by the recoil damage for their attack.
The gym leader called back his ally and called the match a draw. Wengie asked what would happen about their wager. Surge said that since the battle was a tie, nothing happens. Surge handed over a ticket; the same one as Misty handed out. Surge stated that the ticket would only be good for the rest of the day before he headed out of the area. As Wengie went to leave, two people were blocking the exit.
"And where do you think you are going?" The female asked.
"Back to the Pokémon Center, why?" Wengie asked.
"Not yet. You lost, so you know what that means." The male stated.
"Surge said it was a tie!" Wengie held out her finger to stop whatever these two were trying to pull.
"Your Pokémon fainted, which means you lost. It is that simple." The female stated.
"It was a tie." Wengie repeated.
"And what are you going to do about it?" The male chuckled.
"I will…" Wengie went for her pokéball.
"What this? Yeah right." The female snagged Wengie's bag.
"Hey! Give that back!" Wengie demanded.
"Oh, we will. Once you complete the first ever Vermillion Wedgie." The male said.
"You have got to be kidding me. Surge lost too, so why don't you make him do it?" Wengie said snarky.
"We refuse to make the gym leader look bad. So this is what we do to protect the gym leader's reputation." The male defended.
"The wedgie part was your idea and we are just going with it." The lady added.
"You guys are ridiculous." Wengie sighed.
"Do you want your bag back or not?" The lady asked.
"Fine." Wengie sighed as she slightly tugged the back of her jeans
"Oh that was pathetic. Let us show you how it is really done." The female stated as the two people got closer to Wengie.
The next thing Wengie knew, she was head first inside of a trash can. She also had a pair of jumper cables attached to the fabric underneath her pants. The two people who did this to her had set a low voltage to the cables for a slight shock to Wengie's body. After a few minutes, the two of them had enough for their amusement and let Wengie go with her belongings. She quickly got out of there as fast as she could. Little did she know; that there was someone else watching ever since the match started.
Back at the Pokémon Center, Wengie reviewed her battle to start taking notes. She noticed that Raichu was moving faster than she originally thought so she needed to be more reactive to commands. She also saw that Raichu only used Thunder Bolt and Volt Tackle, and remembered that it also knows Thunder Punch and Ice Punch. She just has to be careful and precise with her moves for her rematch. Just then Cameron came in.
He asked how her battle went, to which she sighed. Cameron took that as she lost, but she corrected him by saying it was a tie. Cameron then proceeded to know what she was upset about then. So Wengie explained what happened after the gym leader left. Cameron's eyes widened as he heard how she was treated. Wengie added that she does not want to upload the battle because of the following events. Cameron understood, but was alerted of a video that had just dropped. Both Cameron and Wengie were surprised to see LT. Surge post a video, so they decided to see what he had to say.
"So, I just had a battle with Wengie the Wedgier. And she is a fierce battler; that had to use my strong moves. Our battle ended in a tie, so I gave her those special tickets the league gave us for her to challenge me later today. Turns out my lackeys treated her as if she lost and proceeded to humiliate her. They gave her what they called the Vermillion Wedgie. Well Wengie, you have a fan that got the truth out for you." LT. Surge pointed the camera to a Drowzee. "This little guy had hypnotized these two to admit the truth to me. So I figured that they get the same treatment they gave you. But I added a LT. Surge twist to theirs." The gym leader pointed at the two people bungee jumping with jumper cables giving them bouncing wedgies with some voltage to it too. "So as far as I am concerned Wengie, you deserve this badge because the move I used caused my Pokémon to faint, so I lost. But don't think that I am going to put myself through any of that like they are." LT. Surge chuckled as the video ended.
Wengie remember seeing that Pokémon from when Cameron entered the video making contest. Cameron added that might have been the same Drowzee that the fake Wengie had used before too. Wengie and Cameron headed over to the gym as soon as they could. LT. Surge was waiting by the entrance for them to arrive. The gym leader rubbed the back of his head as an apology for what the two people did to Wengie. Wengie accepted the apology because it was not his fault the two of them tried to pull one over their boss.
Wengie was greeted with a tap on her thigh. She looked down and saw the Drowzee from the video. She asked if it is the same Drowzee from the fake Wengie, to which it nodded. Cameron believed that the Pokémon wanted to come along with Wengie. When she asked if it was true, the Pokémon used confusion to pants all three of them as a prank. The gym leader stated that it would make a perfect fit for her team. Drowzee noticed an empty pokéball and poked it. The Pokémon had entered the capsule and a few seconds later was caught.
Wengie looked baffled and content at the capture. She noted that she has captured all of her Pokémon in unusual ways so far. She shrugged it off as she now has a new Pokémon for her brand of fighting. Surge handed Wengie the Thunder Badge, although Wengie denied it. She felt as if she did not earn it. LT. Surge responded by saying he cleared it up with the league, so she rightfully earned the badge. She took the badge and thanked the gym leader so much.
Wengie and Cameron headed to the edge of the city limits to say their goodbyes. They both wished the other best of luck with their goals. Wengie started to head out, until Cameron stopped her. She asked what he wanted but was too nervous to say it. Wengie waved her head around as she spun and bent over. Cameron asked if she was sure, to which she replied by saying to go ahead. Cameron hoisted Wengie by her blue underpants for a few seconds. Wengie looked at Cameron and said that now it was her turn. Cameron realized that there was no way to get out of this, so he braced himself. Wengie tackled him down and placed his feet through the leg holes of his briefs. Cameron and Wengie laughed for a bit as Wengie undid Cameron's wedgie. Until Cameron mentioned that he would let his parents know what happened. The two gave each other a hug goodbye as Wengie bolted for wherever her next destination would be.
