Wengie was on her way to her next destination. She wanted to see Lavender Town, and the fastest way to get there was to past the bridge and head north. As she was passing by Diglett Cave, she heard a loud commotion. Intrigued, she went inside the cave to see what was going on. What she saw was not what she was expecting to see at all.
Wengie saw a man leading a group of Diglett's inside the cave. She was curious as to why the man was doing so. So she figured the best course of action was to confront the man. When she called out to the man, an Onix appeared and headed for Wengie. Before she could react, the rock snake enticed her and brought her to the man. He tried to explain to her that she was interrupting his task of hiding the Diglett from poachers. Wengie understood and went to leave.
She was just about to enter the bridge when a fast moving van came rapidly down the road. Wengie was confused for a second and saw a small round object blinking red. She instinctively ran away from the object as it exploded and made the bridge collapsed. Officers soon after arrived as they were in pursuit of the van. Since they could not do anything for the moment, all the officers headed back to the city. Wengie headed back too as she wanted to know what was going on.
Officer Jenny had made a public announcement about someone who is poaching Pokémon. She stated that the man behind this has already been in Mt. Moon and Seafoam Island. As to what he wanted they are still looking into it and advised everyone to give any information about him. They proceeded to show the identity of the perpetrator. Wengie had seen this man before inside Diglett's Cave.
As Wengie went to approach the police, a video appeared of a silhouette. The voice from the video claimed to be an anonymous source. It explained that he had an assistant help with his getaway plan. He even gave a description; which resembled Wengie all the way down to the style of clothing. Before Wengie could say anything, she was placed into questioning by the police. She was then placed into an interrogation room to get a few questions answered.
"So, where were you when the attack of Diglett's Cave happened?!" Officer Jenny asked.
"I was passing by on my way to Lavender Town. I did see the man in the cave though, but he told me he was protecting the Pokémon so I left." Wengie explained.
"So if you were passing by, then how do you know he was in the cave?" Officer Jenny debated.
"I heard a commotion and checked it out and was attacked by his Onix." Wengie stated.
"You don't seem to be hurt. Maybe we should try something else. How did you acquire your Pokémon?" Jenny changed the topic.
"I started out with Machoke when it was a Machop. I caught Cubone outside of Cerulean City, and Drowzee is my latest capture here. What does this have to do with anything?" Wengie asked.
"Well, you have a rare assortment of Pokémon. Maybe because it is like a payment by the poacher even. Machop's and Cubone's are not too native to these areas. And your Drowzee seems to be the same one that helped a trainer cheat at an illegal gym outside the area." The officer pointed out.
"I can assure you that I did not cheat or have an illegal gym. I stopped the illegal gym, you can ask LT. Surge." Wengie stated with confidence.
"So, your only alibi is the gym leader who is at a conference right now? How convenient." Officer Jenny spoke up.
"So what are you going to do with me?" Wengie worried.
"Well, since you won't cooperate with us, we can detain you for however long it takes for you to confess." Officer Jenny walked out.
Wengie slammed her fists against the desk that was in front of her. She knows she was innocent, so why would an anonymous source say she was involved? The only people that know where the man was Wengie and... the man. The poacher must have given a bogus tip to the police, but why? The police were probably after him at some point. Wengie remembered the van from the bridge. The driver must have seen Wengie, and needed a cover plan. Wengie was going to tell the police, but they assume she is guilty already so she cannot give them any more ideas to blame her for this. She needed to come up with a plan.
Officer Jenny came back into the room and asked if Wengie was ready to confess to her crimes. Wengie agreed to tell the truth on one condition: that her Pokémon were present too. Officer Jenny knew she would try to make an assault attempt and had a special brace on her Pokémon. Officer Jenny noted that her Pokémon were unable to use any damaging moves with these braces on. Wengie smiled at that remark, to which the officer demanded to know what was so funny. Wengie called out for Teleport on all of Wengie's Pokémon and Wengie herself; as such, they were all transported to the entrance of the cave.
They all had entered the cave and tried to hide for as long as they could. Wengie was trying to come up with a plan to capture the poacher. She needed to know where he was going to be but could not think where the man would go. She believed that the van might have had a logo on it. She asked if Drowzee could use Hypnosis so Wengie could try to reimaging it to see if it could be a clue. Drowzee did exactly that. The only problem was that the dream world could warp some reality so it would not be an efficient clue. Wengie saw the van and had a three headed monster. Wengie woke up and tried to think what it could mean.
Wengie tried to think back to the van. It obviously was not a monster, but it was an image. The poacher was after Diglett's, so why were there three Wengie asked herself. Then it dawned o her; when Diglett evolves into Dugtrio, it has three heads. Wengie used her pokedex to see if a company of some sort had that as a logo. Wengie found only one company and it was a warehouse around the corner from where they were at. Wengie asked to be teleported to there, and Drowzee followed its command.
Little did she know that Officer Jenny had a tracker in Wengie's pokedex. Officer Jenny then left the building to go after Wengie to stop the poacher and arrest the two for their actions. Wengie already got reprimanded for letting Wengie escape. She was not about to let this punk get away again. Officer Jenny had her pride on the line as an officer to maintain and was not going to let anyone stop her.
Wengie saw the warehouse building in the far distance. She knew based on how sketchy the surrounding area was that this was just a ploy to lure away police. Wengie and her Pokémon charged at the front door. When the door busted open, she saw the man from the cave and confronted him about his actions.
"Now you will pay for what you have done!" Wengie yelled.
"Looks like the little girl found a way out of jail. So they let you off with a warning for working with me?" The man teased.
"So you were the one to set me up?!" Wengie confronted.
"I just couldn't let the police stay on me. You were just the perfect target after I saw you during my escape." The man defended.
"What you are doing is wrong. Do you have no shame?!" Wengie argued.
"Not when it comes to money, then it is business. People want Clefairy, Lapras, or any rare Pokémon. I just happen to have a buyer for Diglett." The man stated.
"You are going down. Machoke, use Return!" Wengie ordered, but Machoke could barely move. "What?! Oh no I forgot, the braces prevent attacking moves." Wengie stated.
"Good thing for me that I was under arrest. Go Golbat, use Air Cutter!" the man ordered his army of bat Pokémon
Wengie and her Pokémon started to scatter as they were avoiding attacks. Drowzee tried to use Hypnosis but could barely land the move. Officer Jenny was already in front of the ware house. She heard the entire conversation. She realized that she was wrong and Wengie was telling her the truth. She decided to disable the braces to defend themselves from the Golbat's. As soon as they realized the braces were off; a barrage of Return, Head Butt, and Confusion defeated the bat Pokémon army.
Officer Jenny came into the room and told everyone to remain still. The poacher had nowhere to go and admitted his defeat. Officer Jenny was about to cuff the man until Wengie stopped her. Wengie mentioned how technically she caught the criminal and has not called for police yet. Officer Jenny had a feeling Wengie wanted to get her revenge on the man and proceeded to let her do so with caution.
The man was completely tied up from the waist up to his head. To prevent the man from screaming, Drowzee used Hypnosis on him. Cubone was standing to the side waiting for its signal. Wengie gave the cue for Cubone to swing its club at the man's rear end. This went on for a few minutes as the man cried out of pain. Officer Jenny cuffed the man and started to head out. She apologized for accusing Wengie of assisting in the poaching plan with the man. Suddenly, her radio started to go off.
"Officer Jenny, you better be back here soon or you are in big trouble?!" The voice on the radio yelled.
"Sir, I have good news, I have…." Officer Jenny tried to speak.
"You have disobeyed my orders. I told you that you were on coffee duty and now it has been over an hour and you are nowhere to be seen! You have 10 minutes to be back with coffee or you will be the first Officer Jenny to be Citizen Jenny!" The other line hung up.
"I am so in trouble." Officer Jenny sighed in defeat.
"I can help you. But it is going to cost you some dignity like you did to me." Wengie offered.
"I will do anything at this point." Officer Jenny appreciated.
They were both back at the police station and Officer Jenny brought the entire station coffee. Along with the arrest of the poacher; who was still knocked out. Officer Jenny was back in good graces with her superiors thanks to Drowzee using teleport to get the coffee and then to the police station. She was sure lucky to have Wengie help her. She just wished it was not as embarrassing as it was.
Wengie was re-watching the video she made with Officer Jenny. She had Drowzee use Confusion to lift the officer in air. Drowzee then went to bounce the officer up and down by her underpants. Wengie laughed at the fact the police officer was wearing a pair with little hearts all over them. When the police officer mentioned how this could be considered illegal; Cubone held out its bone and started to generate electricity around it. To which the officer took back her last words.
The two of them made an agreement that if Wengie never posts that video, then there will be no warrant out for Wengie for an attack on an officer. Wengie did finally make it Lavender Town eventually. She wanted to learn more about Pokémon, so the town would be the perfect place to start. This town had put up a library for future trainers to study for so that they had the most current knowledge of Pokémon for whatever career they decided to follow. However, after the long day she had. She decided to take a rest for a little.
