Wengie and Shawn finally made it to Celadon City. They still had several days before Shawn had his gym match with Erika. So they both headed to the Pokémon Center to rest up and figure out what they were going to do in the meantime. Although Wengie did want to take care of her imposter again, she was not going to make her a priority. Wengie was going to make it a point to make taking care of her last out of everything.
Shawn needed supplies for his journey, so they figured they could just head to the infamous Celadon Mall. At first it seemed like a regular shopping mall. A few stores and they were already bored. Shawn managed to pick up some medicine, while Wengie had gathered some food supplies for her and her Pokémon. They were about to leave when something caught their attention.
The Celadon Mall had weekly entertainers, and this week they had advertised a talking Nidoran. The two trainers were interested to see how this would turn out so they waited for the show to begin. Shortly after, the lights went pitch black and no one could see a thing. Just then a spot light had risen and a man dressed like a magician appeared on stage.
"Greetings everyone. I am The Amazing NidoMan. For years I have known my trusty partner and now we have an unbreakable bond. So please help me welcome my friend, Nidoran!" The man introduced as the crowd cheered.
A Nidoran hopped onto a desk and gave a slight roar. The crowded awed at the tiny purple Pokémon. NidoMan on the other hand gave a look for the Pokémon to start getting into the routine. NidoMan faced away from the crowd and asked for a volunteer. Shawn raised his hand in confusion. The man called for him to come up on the stage. Shawn was tasked with picking any card from the deck that was placed next to Nidoran.
NidoMan asked Shawn to show the card to Nidoran only. Nidoran made a feint sound and NidoMan stated what the card was. After guessing correctly of what the card was, he explained that Nidoran told him what the card was. The crowd looked suspicious at the claim and NidoMan pulled out a device. It looked to be a collar of some kind and NidoMan attached it to his Nidoran.
"Now, if any of you still have doubts. Feel free to ask any question." NidoMan stated.
"Like what?" Someone asked.
"Anything." A robotic voice answered.
"Huh?!" Everyone said in shock as they realized the Nidoran was the one to talk.
"That is right. My Nidoran can talk. And now all of your Pokémon can talk too." NidoMan stated as he pulled out several of those collars. "No need for me to be the only one to talk with my Pokémon. for the small price of 400 pokedollars. You too can talk with your Pokémon."NidoMan promoted.
Everyone started to get in line to make a purchase. Shawn started to walk away when Wengie asked why. Shawn explained that he had one of those toys as a kid and all it did was have a set of phrases it could say. Shawn mentioned how all that one could do was probably say a few more words than the one he had. Wengie was not a fan of people who tried to scam others so she was going to put the magician on the spot.
She approached NidoMan to call him out on his fraud. She needed a way to make sure others would not fall for his scam, so she came up with an idea. She asked NidoMan if she could pet his Pokémon. The magician saw no problem with this and allowed her to pet his Pokémon. Wengie started scratching underneath the collar and the Nidoran started to like it. Eventually, it let out a sigh of relief. Everyone looked over noticing it made its natural sound instead of the machine.
NidoMan tried to play it off as if everyone misheard everything. Eventually people started to realize that it was just an overpriced toy they were about to purchase and started to walk away. Wengie too was about to walk away until mall security approached her and escorted her out of the mall. The Celadon Mall had made an agreement with NidoMan about the product he was promoting. Since Wengie revealed the truth about the product, now the mall will not be selling as much as they would have been.
NidoMan was shortly seen afterwards leaving the mall as people started booing him out of the mall. Wengie tried to apologize to the man as she did not know it was a business exchange. NidoMan started to give chase to the young female trainer. She reached a dead end by a white wall that was slightly taller than her. NidoMan stared down the girl and went to lunge at her. She was able to dodge, but the man wedged himself through the wall.
He started yelling how she ruined his big break. He even started to blame his partner Pokémon too. The Nidoran heard this and started to bark back. Shortly after that, the Nidoran started to glow. In a few seconds, the newly evolved Nidorino had emerged. It jumped over the wall to greet its trainer.
"Nidorino, you evolved to save me!" NidoMan stated, as Nidorino gave a devilish grin.
The Nidorino hopped back over the wall, it stood on its hind legs, and used its front paws to place them on its trainer's back. The next thing NidoMan knew was that Nidorino used its teeth on NidoMan's purple briefs. Nidorino jumped back over the wall and latched the undergarments onto a spike of the wall. Nidorino followed it up with kicking dirt in its trainer face. Nidorino then left the area before anything else could happen.
Wengie offered to help NidoMan out of his predicament. He just yelled at her to go away instead. After she left; a scientist that was on the other side of the wall appeared. He offered to help the man out. He even offered him a chance at redemption too. With nothing else to lose, he agreed to what the scientist had to offer. The two of them went inside his house to go over what NidoMan was about to do.
Wengie headed back to the Pokémon Center. Shawn was there wondering what Wengie had been up to. Wengie tried to explain what she saw but it did not seem believable. Shawn even went as far to restate what Wengie had said, and he still did not believe it. Wengie just shrugged it off and wanted to focus on her match with Erika. But Shawn was going to go first as his appointment was sooner.
The two of them headed out of the building to hear a loud explosion of some sort. Wengie noticed it was in the same area as where she saw NidoMan last. The two of them rushed over to the scene to find police and an ambulance there already. A man in a white coat was seen being carried and was now on his way to the hospital. Wengie had managed to sneak through the police and find a secret passageway. She found a room that was completely destroyed. She was able to go through the ruble and find a recording and played the last video.
"Now don't you worry NidoMan. This is just a slight experiment." The scientist started.
"What are you going to do to me anyway?" NidoMan asked.
"Just run a few tests. I am researching the bond between trainers and Pokémon. my prime focus is how Pokémon use certain moves while others can't. There have been trainers over the years that have Pokémon that can use moves they normally could not. So why not see if humans can do the same?" The scientist explained.
"I don't follow." NidoMan stated.
"You may be the first hum who can use Pokémon moves. That way we can know more on how a Pokémon is developed." The scientist confessed.
The scientist started to press a few buttons and the tubes that were connected to NidoMan started to ooze purple. NidoMan started to scream in pain. The computers started to malfunction and the scientist tried to stop the process. Unfortunately, the machines were too late in the process to stop. NidoMan started to glow white and then the explosion occurred.
Wengie looked in horror as she was terrified at what she saw. The police found Wengie and had her leave the area as police gathered evidence on what they could find. Soon, a police report of a monster in the city was on high alert. The police left the area and headed to where they were summoned. Shawn mentioned how they should go too. Wengie was still in shock at what she saw, so Shawn went on a head. Wengie managed to slump her way back to the Pokémon Center.
The news report of the monster had been playing. Wengie looked up and was freaked out at what she saw. It was indeed a monster. It looked like a crossbreed between a human and a Nidorino. The monster was attacking the police with a barrage of Poison Sting's. Wengie then noticed Shawn and started to panic. She took another look at the monster and saw something similar as if she had seen the creature before. Just then she realized it was in fact NidoMan attacking the police and Shawn. She rushed out of the door and went to the scene of the action.
She knew she was going to need some courage, so she got dressed in her hero attire. Wengie the Wedgier was going to stop NidoMan this time. She made it to the scene and sent out her Cubone. Cubone was shaken at first, but anyone would be when they see a human Pokémon mixture. Cubone got ready for battle by starting off with Bonemerang. NidoMan took the first swing of the attack and charged at the Cubone, until he noticed the trainer.
"I know you." NidoMan stated in a deeper voice than he had before.
"I doubt that. You must be thinking of someone prettier than me." Wengie deflected.
"No, you're that girl from the mall. You did this to me!" NidoMan raged.
"I did not do anything to you!" Wengie snapped back.
"You ruined by big break. I was going to finally make it after so many years and then you ruined my deal with Celadon Mall. I had to work for some science guy and he turned me into a freak. If you didn't ruin my mall gig I would still be human!" NidoMan stated as he used Double Edge.
"You can use Pokémon moves?!" Wengie dodged the attack while shocked.
"The first human to use Pokémon moves. And since I am a Human Pokémon, I am now a talking Pokémon too." NidoMan laughed as he went for Poison Sting. "Now that I can do whatever I want, I am done with these small time shows. But remember this girl and look around. Get in my way again and everyone will get hurt." NidoMan stated as he left the area, while Wengie also looked at the area and noticed how much destruction NidoMan can cause.
Wengie and Shawn headed back to the Pokémon Center. Wengie had a lot on her mind as now she had an enemy that was a Pokémon instead of an enemy with Pokémon. She did not know how to handle this. While she could just battle him like any Pokémon, she would still be attacking a human in the process. But as long as he does not cause any more damage, she will not have to worry about him or others he may hurt. Shawn went to show Wengie a post the fake Wengie posted.
"Interesting. So the NidoMan magician is now the NidoMan monster. And he even claims that Wengie the Wedgier is the cause of this. Looks like where ever she goes, trouble follows. It is a shame that NidoMan will never be able to show his face because now he is a scary monster. So Wengie, when are you going to stop playing these games? Innocent people are getting hurt. But I have a solution. If you reveal yourself in front of the whole world and let me wedgie you, then the world can forgive you for your acts as a villain. So what do you say Wengie; are you going to remain the Wedgier or become Wengie the Wedgied? You know what you have to do." The fake Wengie posted.
Wengie was considering it. She did anger the Celadon City gym leader. She is having a debate with her doppelganger. As well as now she has a super villain out there who she cannot even defeat. Maybe it was time to stop playing these games. Shawn then showed her the comments on the fake Wengie's video. A lot of the comments were aimed towards the fake Wengie; saying how she is jealous that Wengie the Wedgier is a better battler than her. Even more comments on how her videos and battles are fun to watch. Those kind words made Wengie happy and continue her persona as Wengie the Wedgier. Now all Wengie and Shawn have to do is challenge the Celadon gym.
