A few days have passed since Wengie took on the Celadon gym. All Wengie wanted to do left while in the city was to go to the Prize Center that was nearby. Wengie and Shawn headed out of the Pokémon Center. Wengie, as Wengie the Wedgier, received an already paid pass for two for the Prize Center. The major of the city rewarded her for helping with the NidoMan dilemma, as well as her uncovering the Celadon gym scandal and thought this was an appropriate compensation. Since Wengie the Wedgier received the reward, Wengie had to be in character for her to attend.
As the two trainers stepped out of the Pokémon Center, they were greeted by a gang of bikers. They told the trainers that they were sent to bring them to an acquaintance of theirs. Wengie tried to protest by saying she had errand she had to do, but the bikers did not want to hear it. All the bikers sent out their Pokémon, as Wengie was about to send out her Pokémon. Shawn stopped her by saying the police may come by if something goes wrong. Wengie resisted the urge to battle and followed the bikers.
They reached the outer area of the city that lead straight to the bike path. From the distance, the two trainers saw someone they instantly recognize. It was the imposter Wengie starring down the two trainers. She was wearing completely different attire than when Wengie first met her. This time, the doppelganger was in blue jeans with a purple zip less hoodie. Along with a light blue undershirt. She also had the signature mask; but instead of plastic, in was an actual pair of red underpants.
Wengie snickered as the poser tried to look intimidating. Wengie the fraud got irritated at the sound and sent out her Machoke. Wengie looked up to see an intimidating Pokémon stand in front of her. The real Wengie asked what she wanted, and the other Wengie chuckled at the request.
"What I want is simple. I want revenge for how you treated me back in Vermillion City. I had a good gig in that city and you ruined it." She explained.
"You pretended to be me! You still are!" Wengie defended her reputation.
"No anymore. I am the better version of you. I am not Wengie the Wedgier. I am Wengie the Wedgielord. But you can call me Wedgielord if it is too hard for you to remember." Wedgielord mocked.
"Oh, don't you worry Wedgielord; it will be easy to remember you after you receive a lord of wedgies." Wengie snapped back.
"Maybe you shouldn't threaten the woman that has a biker gang on her side." Shawn stated
"I am not scared of this weakling. I beaten her before and can beat her now." Wengie stated as she saw that the bikers sent out about thirty Pokémon. "Now you may have a point with the whole threatening thing." Wengie regretted.
"See? This is what it is like on the winning side. While you were out taking on gyms, I got myself a reliable team. And now they see me as their leader." Wedgielord stated, as Wengie noticed a tall biker approach them. The other bikers stepped back as if they were scared of this person. Wengie had gotten a sense of what was going on, so she decided to toy with Wedgielord.
"So how did you become 'leader' then Wedgielord?" Wengie asked.
"Quite easily actually. I walked up to their former leader and told him that I will be leading his crew from now on. Of course he did not like that so I challenged him to a battle, winner becomes leader. And as you can see I beat his sorry butt and here I am." Wedgielord gloated.
"That is not how I remember it!" The man said standing over Wedgielord; who looked scared at the sight of the said former leader. "you sent out your Pokémon to ambush me, threw me in a closet, and left saying my crew is yours. Too bad you locked me in a janitor closet they needed to get into." The leader revealed. "And now time for a rematch!" The leader took back his crew by that statement.
The leader had also brought his bike with him. He reached inside Wedgielord's jeans to reveal pink undies with white hearts all over them. He attached her underpants to the back of his bike and started to pedal away. He called for his crew to join them to reach the next city. they all started to ride away cheering as their leader lead them out of the city. Wengie and Shawn just stood there astounded.
Seeing as there was nothing they could do about it, they headed right over to the Prize Center. After they showed the guard their passes, they went right for the arcade machines. Wengie was impressed by the size of the place. There were three floors for them to explore. After they did the arcade, went bowling, and ate at the cafeteria; they decided to cash in their rewards to get a prize. They both had enough to get identical medals made out of plastic. They thought it would be nice to have something they both could remember about their time for the day.
They headed towards the bike route for they were done with Celadon City for the meantime. Before they headed out, they had a last meal together. Even though they had a good time together, they both wanted to go their separate ways for their journey. Wengie was going to head over to the Safari Zone to reunite baby Kangaskhan with its mother. While Shawn was going to go to Saffron City to look into Silph Co. just then, Shawn wanted to make a confession.
"This sure has been interesting the last several days." Shawn started.
"What do you mean?" Wengie asked.
"first I see an old classmate, then I learn she is one of my favorite fighters, then we had to deal with the NidoMan issue, as well as discover the Celadon gym was cheating at battles, on top of all of that we had to fight on of your biggest enemies." Shawn confessed.
"I wouldn't call her a big enemy." Wengie snuffed.
"Oh please? She pretends to be you. Then she turns around and wants to humiliate you. That is an important enemy in every superhero story." Shawn stated.
"I guess." Wengie could see what he was trying to say.
"So I have one favor to ask of you then. Will Wengie the Wedgier accept my challenge?" Shawn challenged, and Wengie looked up to smile and accepted the challenge.
The two trainers got up to get ready for a three-on-three battle. Wengie started off with her newly evolved Marowak. Shawn followed up by sending out his Wartortle. The both realized that this was almost like their practice battle they had when they first met on their way to the city. This time, they were battling with serious determination. Wengie went for the first strike.
Wengie started off with Thunder Punch. As Marowak changed towards the water type Pokémon, Shawn made a quick reflux to counter. Wartortle was commanded to use Rapid Spin. Marowak landed the attack, but Wartortle was inside of its shell spinning. The momentum from the Rapid Spin made Thunder Punch immune to the attack. Wengie then thought of an idea. She called out for Thunder Bone. Shawn was puzzled by this at first. That is until he saw Marowak charge up her bone with electricity. One swing from Marowak and Wartortle was then seen launched further away.
Wartortle got up and smirked as if it wanted to keep on fighting. Shawn then remembered another tactic from their battle before that worked. Wartortle then went for Ice Beam, but did not aim at Marowak. Instead it tried to freeze the bone like it did before. And to their surprise, their plan worked. Wartortle then was instructed to use Aqua Jet. Marowak was not about to give up that easily.
Wengie asked Marowak to grab her club and to use Bonemerang. Marowak grabbed her club and instantly threw it at the opposing Pokémon. Shawn was stunned to see Marowak grab a hold of the frozen club. But then again, this Pokémon had gained a new strength after it evolved; so it should have came to no surprise that Marowak could have pulled this off. Wartortle was struck by the ground type attack and could not continue the battle. Shawn acknowledged his first defeat and went to send out his next Pokémon, Beedrill.
Wengie tried to remember what kind of attacks it can use. She knew it could use Twin Needle and Double Team, but the rest of it was a blur to her. Shawn filled in the gap by using Fury Attack. Beedrill moved at incredible speed to land its mark. Marowak was getting jabbed repeatedly from the Bee Pokémon. Wengie knew she had to react fast, so she decided to match the rapid attacks with her own. As Marowak had held her club close, Wengie called for Bone rush.
Marowak's bone glowed blue and she started to twirl it to block Beedrill from attacking. Shawn forgot that Marowak could do this so he went for Poison Jab instead. After the move made contact, Marowak seemed disoriented for a brief second. Wengie tried to figure out what was happening. Then she found out by Shawn that Poison Jab has a chance to poison its opponent. Wengie did not have much time, so she asked Marowak to use Bonemerang. Marowak threw her club at the opponent but Beedrill dodged. When Shawn mocked Wengie for missing, Wengie reminded Shawn that Bonemerang still has to return to sender.
Just then, Marowak's bone hit Beedrill in the back and knocked the opponent out. Shawn was not about to lose without take a single Pokémon of hers down without a fight. Shawn sent out Growlithe as his final choice. Wengie pointed out that she has the type advantage and gave Shawn a chance to forfeit. Shawn was not about to just hand over his opponent the win without trying. So the two of them squared off.
Shawn went right for Takedown as his first move. Wengie sighed as she went for Bone Club to counter. Shawn switched up his attack by going for Dig instead. Growlithe dug right in front of Marowak as she tripped over her on feet. She was starting to feel the pain from the poison. Wengie knew she had to finish this battle up quickly, so she decided to have Marowak follow her opponent into the hole.
Unfortunately, that was Shawn's plan all along. Growlithe waited for that to happen as it went for Flamethrower while underground. Marowak struggled to get up after the attack. She went through two tough battles, has a status condition, and was just struck by a powerful Flamethrower. Marowak had reached her limit for the battle and feel down out of exhaustion. Shawn tossed over a Pecha Berry to Wengie. He explained that he always keeps some for when a Pokémon he poisons with Poison Jab faints. Wengie was grateful and recalled her Pokémon. She sent out her Drowzee next.
Shawn was not to familiar with how Drowzee battles. He knows it can put others to sleep, and it cannot fall asleep itself. Not to mention it can teleport to. Drowzee was definitely going to be an interesting Pokémon to face. Growlithe was instructed to use Dig again. This time Wengie had a counter attack for that. Drowzee went for Confusion to stop Growlithe in its tracks. Shawn went for Flamethrower to get out of that bind. Too bad Drowzee went for Teleport to dodge while keeping Growlithe airborne. The next thing Growlithe knew was that it was hurled towards the ground. Drowzee went into the pile of dust it caused to see if its opponent was defeated. Growlithe managed to land a Fir Fang attack and defeat Drowzee. Now Wengie was down to her last Pokémon.
"Well, would you look at that. It is going to be a close match." Shawn called out.
"You just call it quits now and face you punishment sooner." Wengie taunted.
"Yeah right. I am close to winning. There is no way I am losing to you." Shawn said with enthusiasm.
"You just can't admit when you are wrong. But when I win, you will be begging for mercy when I give you a wedgie." Wengie teased.
"No, that is where you are wrong. I will be the one laughing while you are pleading for mercy as I am giving you a wedgie." Shawn retorted.
"What?! You two are battling just to wedgie the loser!? And here I am wanted to illuminate you! But it seems you are really just a mere child at best." A man came out of the shadows.
"Oh boy." Shawn worried.
"You!" Wengie recognized the man, except it was not a man. It was NidoMan himself.
NidoMan wanted revenge on Wengie for causing his accident. She tried to plead that she was not the one to turn him into what he was now. NidoMan started to charge at Wengie with his Double Edge. Just then, smoke surrounded the area. As the smoke cleared, several men in cloaks appeared. They looked at the mutated human and threw a net on him. Wengie asked what they were doing.
They responded that they are always in search for rare Pokémon. And when they heard about a human that was a Pokémon, they had to see if it was true for themselves. Wengie tried to protest that what they are doing is wrong. But they would not listen, as they had made the same smoke appear. Before they could do anything, the men in cloaks disappeared in literal thin air.
Shawn mentioned how he faced a gym full of ninjas that looked almost like those guys. Wengie asked where that gym was, and Shawn mentioned it was in the same city as the Safari Zone she wants to go to. Wengie and Shawn gathered their belongings and started to head out. Wengie stopped Shawn from joining her.
Wengie told him that this was her problem that she had to fix. Shawn wondered what she meant by that. She admitted that if she did not ruin his Celadon Mall gig, then he would not have been captured like this. This was her problem that she had to fix herself. Shawn tried to convince her otherwise, but he knew that she would not budge even a little bit. The two of them hugged goodbye for the time being. Shawn promised that they would finish their match someday before heading to his next destination. Wengie was not about to stop for anything as she was on a mission. To Fuchsia City she went.
