Winter finally had them surrounded. Thick blankets of white snow covered the landscape and they had barely managed to bring in enough supplies to get the tribe through the cold season. Luckily the unusual snow storm two months back hadn't done as much damage as the barbarians had feared and it was the only abnormality this season. During the last two months the weather had gotten gradually colder and colder. It started snowing about a week ago giving them just enough time to prepare.
Live now in the tribe would be a bit harsher, but also calmer. Besides hunting and tending to their animals there was no rush. No need to bring in supplies since they had everything prepared beforehand. No meetings with the other tribes trying to mend everyone's problems since the paths were too rough to travel, unless an emergency occurred. No need to sell wares and make enough money to buy those necessities they couldn't find in the mountains since most traders had fled to the warmer south. And best of all no trouble with the king or other marauders, even the demons and other dangerous creatures mostly kept it down during the cold seasons.
They had time to hunt for furs to sell in the spring, as well as mend to any handcraft which needed a lot of time like quilting blankets and the like. It was their time of the year to relax and get bored, doing stupid shit as a result and wait for spring, when life would get easier again but also more hectic in preparation for the next cold season.
Even with all that in mind young Bakugo, perching high on the wooden wall surrounding their home, just couldn't seem to relax. Not that he usually relaxed during winter. These time something or rather someone was giving him the quirks more than he was used to. It made him unable to rest or ensue his normal training routine.
"Waiting for your pearl to come home?"
He twitched … he honestly just twitched, and glared at Sero as the other was making a 'whoa' sound at his leaders reaction. He didn't normally spook easily but he had been this caught up in his thinking that he didn't even notice his friend climbing up to him. He considered pushing him of the fence, but decided that it would be too much of a hassle cleaning up afterwards. Instead he sighed and willed himself to share his thoughts on a rare occasion.
"It has been snowing for a week now and we are at the mountains base, not near the top where that idiot is probably climbing around. There it should have started snowing two to three weeks ago. It shouldn't take him that long to get his ass back down here, don't you think?"
Sero considered it for a moment, not wanting to aggravate his friend any further with his answer. He did not believe the young gem hunter would try to evade the tribe and flee. He wasn't as stupid and it seemed that Bakugo didn't consider this option either.
"Well, you don't know how far he went up. He might have stayed pretty close to the base depending on which of his localities he wanted to tap. And it might have snowed later there or he just didn't care about a bit of snow."
Bakugo only grumbled in irritation while continuing to stare at the path leading to their camp.
"He still should be here by now, if he intends to reach his home this winter anyway. He has no horse for fucks sake."
Sero nodded. He as well as some of the others were worried just as much. But they couldn't do anything about it, not knowing where Shuichi had gone. In the end he might never show up again. It wouldn't be the first time they lost acquainted fur hunters or the like to the unforgiving mountains and most times they wouldn't even find the corpses to burry.
"Perhaps he left a horse by one of the farmers? I understand that he probably can't take one up into the mountains most of the time, but considering the long distance he has to cross between his home and the mountains it would be a smart thing to do."
As if Bakugo hadn't considered this fact days ago. It still would take him too long to get back home, well too long to be claimed rational but the whole ordeal of staying this late in the mountains went against being rational. Even the barbarians had left the higher terrain weeks ago for good measure. They were just too damn dangerous for the families with their unpredictable weather and some creatures becoming more active. Well, for anyone but rough housed hermits anyway.
"Do you want to search for him?"
A startled Bakugo looked sideways towards his friend, he wasn't grinning as normal which meant he was seriously talking this time.
"Are you fucking serious? Where the hell do you think I should start, these mountains are fucking huge and I don't even know which direction he took."
Sero just shrugged his shoulders, considering how much he would overstep his boundaries of friendship just now. Bakugo was right and they all knew, but still …
"I didn't ask if it was rational to do a search, but if you want to do it. Well, Eijiro seems to be eager to go and search for him…"
"They fuck is this overgrown lizard doing! Does he want to get himself killed!"
And that was that. Sero jerked as Katsuki simply jumped down the wall backwards and stomped off to find his friend to talk, or rather beat, some sense into him. Letting himself down the fence more slowly Sero sighed. Someone had to do that before the idiot really got himself into trouble, he just wished it hadn't been him.
He glared at Mina and Denki as they both gave him a thumbs up, vowing to find out how the hell they had cheated at the throwing game they played to determine who had to be the miserable person to tell their tempered blond friend about the red heads silly ideas.
Searching around the camp Katsuki was getting more and more frustrated by the minute since he couldn't find Eijiro anywhere. Did the idiot already went out and search? He would beat him to a pulp if he did. In the end Eijiro might be the only one able to actually find anyone out there. It was still a silly undertaking. Not yet satisfied with his searching he went to the last place to think of: the stables close to the main gate.
He halfheartedly greeted those passing him but wasn't bother, most could see that something must have pissed him off and wisely decided to leave him alone. His mood didn't get any better as he reached the stables and noticed that Eijiro's favored mare was gone.
Meaning he really had left camp without his permission to search, but why the hell would he take a horse with him? Not bothering to think about other possibilities, Katsuki readied his own mount and made his way to the gate. If he had to search for days, he would do it and get that stupid shitty-haired idiot back into camp, pulling him on a rope behind his mount if needed be.
Mounting his horses back he didn't have to tell the guards to open the gates. He wanted to dig his heels into his horses flanks and make a fast run before his mother decided she needed him for 'things' again. But the moment the gates were fully open he stopped short, mouth slightly agape and his stallion prancing.
Before the gate, on his mare, a grinning Eijiro chatted away with one of the guards. They were surrounded by a familiar pack of wolf hounds and sitting behind Eijiro was a certain black haired male, giving Katsuki a frown and a raised eyebrow. He had only a moment to recover before Eijiro spotted him and they dismounted.
"Oi Katsuki, you're going for a ride? Sorry man but can't that wait till later? Shuichi is in a hurry you know to get back home and he would rather do the 'negotiations' now so he can leave again before sun down."
Thinking fast Katsuki dismounted, giving them a look over and crossing his arms over his chest. He was still pissed and the, god beware he was even able to have these sort of feelings, joy of seeing Shuichi save and sound did only so much to brighten his mood. The anger towards his best friend hadn't subsided yet.
"Tell me shitty lizard. You met him by chance didn't you? You didn't go out this morning to search for him on your own, did you not?"
Eijiro's hand holding the reins twitched and he chuckled nervously. 'Aha, caught you bastard' Katsuki thought, eyeing the big backpack Eijiro had with him.
"Ah well, no? I was just giving the pretty here a ride since she had been standing at the stable far too long and that's when I walked right into Shuichi who was on the way towards us. So I thought I would bring him back with me …"
His voice had gotten smaller and smaller till the end, still nervously looking up at the blond. He jerked again as Katsuki thrust his own reins towards him, motioning with his head to the stables in a silent order to take care of both horses. Sighing, Eijiro took the reins and trudged towards the stables. The look Katsuki had given him told him that his friend didn't believe shit and he would get his ears busted off later.
Shuichi watched with a slightly amused look having caught on fast. He followed Katsuki to his tent as the man beckoned him to do so, the dogs tailing them. The people of the tribe called him friendly greetings along their way.
"Eijiro knows how big the mountains are, does he?"
Katsuki only groaned as he lifted the flap to his home and rubbed his temples. They sat down at the makeshift table, Shuichi eyeing the set of scales and stack of blank papers with reproach. He sat down opposite from the barbarian putting his heavy backpack on the ground.
"He tends to forget obvious things like that in some situations. Hence, he once got stuck in a pot with his hand while scrubbing it and panicked, forgetting that he just needed to let go of the cleaning rag to pull it out."
Shuichi choked on a laugh, it explained some things though. Katsuki too had to grin at the memory, it did lighten his mood some making him forget his anger at Eijiro. He would still get a reprimand later but at least the fear for the gem hunters well-being had been lifted off his shoulders. He ignored his inner self questioning himself how he had become this close to the black haired male in this short time. It didn't matter.
"How about it, pearl? Did you enjoy your time out in the mountains?"
Well, the younger hadn't heard that nickname in a while. Not even as he left months ago with the barbarian still being angry at him. It seemed his anger had dissipated. The younger considered the question, grimacing a little but trying to hide it in the same moment. Katsuki caught on anyway.
"It was well enough, only the cold was hard to bear. The nights were fine with my dog pack to warm me, but digging through frozen, muddy grit and trying to break rocks with my hands freezing off wasn't a pleasure even with gloves … I managed to split one of my best hammers due to the cold. Gonna have to replace that come spring."
Katsuki took a quick peek at Shuichi's hands and frowned, they looked chapped and were covered in small cuts with dark bruises on some of his fingers. Not to mention the mud beneath his finger nails, which surprisingly didn't show any serious splits. He ought to do something about that later. There were cuts and bruises on his arms and face as well. His clothes probably hide even more minor injuries.
"Sounds interesting but not recommendable. Meet any more demons or the like? Other troubles? I hope you at least found some interesting pretties."
"Yeah, sure you want to know if I found anything valuable. I didn't meet any more mystical creatures but for some snow fairies yesterday. There was a bear that didn't like me but the dogs chased him away. Besides that it was only some annoying climbs over unsteady ground near deep drops that set me off. The one or other small stone grazing me on its fall from the mountain top. One bigger stone had me wheezing on my knees for minutes after it hit my side, but nothing was broken. Oh, and digging in half frozen grit with a massive slab of stone right over your head you know would fall down if it weren't for the frozen ground, which of course you are currently working on, doesn't give one the best of feelings. I swear, I jumped out of there at least a dozen of times in panic any time I got the feeling it might slip and burry me beneath. I bet my dogs called me ten times stupid, but the aquamarine I got from that adventure were worth it. Too bad the weather switched suddenly, I didn't trust that stone after the snow started pilling on top of it. And I bet if I go there next year it will have toppled down."
Katsuki wanted to slap Shuichi's head like he tended to do with Kirishima any time he did something stupid. Somehow he started to see why his mother kept doing it and he blamed his urge to slap peoples head on her upbringing solely. Everyone growing up in the mountains knew how dangerous rock slides could be and to keep far away from any rocks that looked like they were on the verge of falling, least climb below one.
Apparently this disregard to danger sense and common rationality came with the profession of being a gem hunter. And it might be the reason for the high death rate, besides being raided by bandits. The multiple small injuries only seemed to affirm it and while Shuichi did have a number of those the first time they met, he had believed it to be because of his run from the demon. Guess he was wrong about it.
He didn't voice his thoughts, but he did give the younger a disapproving stare which was regarded by a stubborn one. They went right down to business afterwards. While Katsuki patiently waited, the younger opened his pack and pulled out the two leather pouches holding his findings. Together they went to sort through them.
He did find some more silver leafs and even a small gold nugget, which was a lucky catch while he had washed his clothes in a small river. Besides that he had red garnet, black and green tourmaline, different kinds of quartz and more aquamarine, which had been his main goal this year. Those were the kind of gemstones Katsuki knew about, some of the others like zircon he had heard about but never seen. Shuichi also found some middle sized crystal druses with different assembles of minerals, two of which Shuichi wasn't sure about.
Katsuki wrote everything down in detail, from numbers to weigh and potential selling price. His father had come at one point to help him with the prices, being versed in that kind of trade. The accounts didn't look bad, Shuichi proofed to be an experienced gem hunter, but it also wasn't as good as he had hoped for.
The raw gold and silver could be used right away to buy supplies from farmers and the likes since they were a still often used currency besides stamped coins. He wanted to keep them. Everything else needed to be worked before selling or sold to the dealers. Shuichi told him that he could and would work with some of the gems himself, selecting those he wanted. The rest he would sell to the dealers once they returned in spring.
He might sell some beforehand if any local merchants came looking to him. The price made from that might be lower, but Katsuki understood Shuichi's need to keep the local merchants on his good side in case he needed their help in any way. Village life surely sucked, the barbarian hated being too dependent on the humans good will to survive and preferred the wild mountains. The mountains were easier to deal with than greedy merchant folk and landlords. Out here you couldn't make any debts, with nature it was always 'live or die'.
He had known that this arrangement might only bring him money next year, but he still despised the wait. Shuichi also gave him a hard time. He didn't agree giving away all of his silver and the gold, he too had to wait till spring to make good money from his catch or sell the gems underprized to locals. And he needed money now and didn't see why Katsuki, who would be holed up in camp the whole winter with no way to spend money, seemed to need the only valuables which could be used as currency.
Sometime during their heated argument Mitsuki interfered and, to Katsuki's irritation, sided with Shuichi. Apparently she had found a liking in the young male. In the end they agreed to let Shuichi keep the silver, gold and those gems he planned on working himself. The rest would stay with the tribe and come spring, during the time they went to the towns to sell their furs, quilts and other valuables produced during winter, Shuichi would met back up with them and tutor Katsuki in gem selling.
It was a compromise both weren't very happy about, Shuichi because it meant more work and a probable loss of money and Katsuki because he did not like the idea of trading with greedy dealers. He couldn't stand those people. But Mitsuki couldn't be argued with. They both heaved a sigh as she finally left the tent.
"Well, I don't want to be on your mother's bad side that's for sure."
"What about my bad side?"
Shuichi only flapped his hand at him dismissively, while packing up his belongings.
"Already saw that, not very impressive."
Katsuki made to answer but was interrupted by a happily grinning red head entering without permission, not that he usually asked. The blond haired stopped his growling the moment he saw the tray with food his friend carried and his rumbling stomach told him that they indeed had missed lunch.
"I thought I would bring you two your meal now since you were occupied before. Are you done? I hope you still have the time to eat before you leave again Shuichi. Your dogs have been cared for by Mitsuki already. By the way, when did you plan on leaving? I could take you with the horses for some time if you don't mind, they need movement anyway."
Shuichi made to grab for some of the bread while answering, but Katsuki pulled the plate away with determination set in his eyes.
"He will leave the day after tomorrow."
"What!?"
"The path is mostly closed off by snow and the witch says there will be a small snow storm later the day and it will only loose up by the end of tomorrow. They way down is hard enough on its own, even worse during a storm and that with having had barely to none sleep up in the mountains. I can see the bags under your eyes. I don't say you are too weak or anything to make it, but it would be wiser to wait two more fucking days and rest. In the end the time you will need to the kings roads if you wait now will be the same as if you walk right into the storm … I will even bring you to the first farm, we can use our mounts because as Eijiro said: they need the movement. And I won't hear a 'no' from you. I need the time out of camp as well. You can endure my company on the way now during the storm without horses or in two days after a good rest and with a mount of your own to ride. Your decision."
Shuichi, albeit not happy his return home would be further delayed, after a moment of thinking about it and with the begging from Eijiro decided to agree. Katsuki was good at arguing, if he wanted to. Again he would be sharing the tent with the angry blond. Any plans of staying with Eijiro had been crushed the time on the ride back to camp, as Eijiro kept on talking about how good he got along with Mina all of a sudden.
Apparently this was only the second winter Eijiro had been with the tribe being brought in by Katsuki after travelling with him for about a year. And now after he started to not cling to his friend day in day out he had noticed how much he liked the girl. To be short, he was smitten with her and Shuichi didn't want to ruin anything by sharing a tent. So, back to teasing breaths on his neck it was, unless Katsuki would allow him to stay in his own bed roll this time.
But he wouldn't. The one moment Shuichi lost sight of his backpack the barbarian used the chance to give the sleeping bag to one of the female clan's people to wash. His lame excuse was again that it reeked of wolf, which wasn't surprising after weeks of half-wolfs sleeping on top of it.
"Hey pearl, do you want to wash off the grime from traveling the mountains for weeks?"
Shuichi looked at the currently empty bath tub and shrugged.
"Sure, why not. Where are the buckets to fill this and how do you warm it up in the first place? Though I would take with cold water if need be … and stop calling me that name."
Katsuki only 'tsked' and showed him his right hand, palm facing upwards. Shuichi frowned, thinking he might want him to take his hand. He flinched as suddenly a small explosion erupted from the others hand. Katsuki look as smug as could be and Shuichi only raised his eyebrow at that.
"Your magic, I guess. Might be the reason you're still running around half naked in the middle of winter."
"I am wearing a shirt now, you know. You village people are just whiny if it gets cold because you aren't used to it sleeping in a house all year long. We are made of harder stuff, living in the mountains. And I didn't mean for you to use the tub, there is a much better place about an hour walk from here. We will go there … pearl."
In the end they had Eijiro, Mina, Sero and Kaminari tag along. Shuichi's dogs were nowhere to be found and he left them to do whatever it was they were doing. It was a steep walk up the mountain to the east of the camp on a slim trail often enough leading past deep cliff sides and with frozen patches. Shuichi had never had trouble keeping pace with his pack, but it was only now that he notice it might be due to them being considerate of his poor stamina. It might be because of being exhausted after weeks of being out in the wild, but Shuichi wouldn't lie to himself. The barbarians simply had more stamina than him.
Even Denki, known for being a slack as he had been told, had no trouble keeping up with their leader while Shuichi's lungs and legs burned fiercely. But one gaze to the smug look on Bakugo's face and Kirishima's well-meant and innocent question if they should take a break kept him going. He wanted to break down to the ground as they made it to a steaming clearing, after a little more over an hour but he wouldn't give Bakugo the pleasure.
"Finally!"
Denki's whine had him look up from where he was trying to slow down his breathing to a less painful level. They were in the middle of a small nook on the side of a mountain, stone faces bare of snow rising up in front of the steep hill they just climbed. The nook wasn't wide, but hidden inside was a steaming lake of warm water, a hot spring, its water flowing down from the stony walls to pool at their feet only to vanish back down in the walls on the other side again. It was big enough to fit twenty people comfortably at least.
"Are you coming yet?"
Shuichi looked over at the others again from where he was studying the kind of the rocks surrounding him, it was habit. They left their belongings on a patch of stone clear of any snow, starting to undress and being half way into the spring. Shuichi followed and noticed how warm the stone was, there was probably hot water flowing beneath it. He sighed in contempt and followed suit, leaving the fresh clothing, he again had to borrow from one of the hunters, on the warm stones and his black pouch hidden beneath. He could feel their or rather someone's gaze on him the whole time till he let himself sink into the water next to Mina.
"Your body looks awfully beaten. Was it that rough out there?"
He quirked an eyebrow at the worried woman, but the others too looked close to being appalled. He looked down his arms to the obvious bruises he got from slipping and having to catch himself on the sharp rocks with them. His legs didn't look better and on his chest, back and sides were less, but bigger bruises from stones hitting him as he had told Katsuki.
"Nah, some are bad luck and I was sort of a bit more clumsy than usual but it's nothing to worry about. It will heal and they hardly hurt anymore."
He better not tell them about his nearly sprained ankle and how it was the reason it took him more time than usual to get back down. They probably saw the bruise and while he wasn't openly limping anymore it still hurt. With the others looking partly satisfied Shuichi sank down lower into the heat. It was blissful and he closed his eyes in contempt for some minutes, giving his bruised and hurting body some relieve. He barely felt the ripples of water as someone else sat next to him.
"Enjoying your time?"
He cracked an eye open to gaze at Bakugo, face flushed from the heat and he tried to ignore the lust filed gaze he was given.
"Mmmhh, don't get to visit any hot springs that often. It is nice once in a while."
"Well they are more frequent than one might think in these mountains, since they are volcanic and all, but hard to find. We know them all and there's always one close to any of our camp sides. You can try the others too when you come for your visits."
"Are you trying to catch me with the promise of hot baths?"
They all chuckled lowly to that.
"Perhaps, there is much more I could catch you with if you care to look, pearl."
Denki moaned and splashed them with water.
"Fuck it Katsuki, I didn't came here to listen to you and your lover moaning at each other. Have some decency for once."
Katsuki growled and flipped him off, swimming closer to Shuichi in the process and putting his arm over the smaller man's shoulders.
"And I told you to stay the fuck in camp, why did you guys even come along?"
"Perhaps as chaperons? You know he needs to be able to walk back down on his own, the path is just too narrow to carry someone. Be mindful of others poor bodily state just for once!"
By now Shuichi had sunk down to his nose into the water blowing bubbles and feeling much hotter than before. Mina didn't seem to mind the others being able to see her breasts and anything else as she tried to be the 'chaperon' she claimed to be and pull Katsuki's arm from Shuichi, which only lead to the former clinging even closer, fully naked mind. Shuichi wasn't bothered by her closeness, he wasn't sexually interested in females but he had enough of their banter the moment his head got pushed under water by mistake. He spluttered and a worried looking Eijiro had gotten a grab of Mina pulling her away, silently asking Shuichi if he was ok.
"All right, enough of you two pushing me around. Thank you Mina, but I can deal with the minor teasing myself and I think you guys being around is enough of a chaperon so he won't go further …"
He let his speech hang midsentence as he noticed their way of slyly looking at him and how Kirishima was holding Ashido, his hand boldly placed over her breast with her not seeming to care at all. That's when he remembered the stories about barbarians tending to openly living their sex life, which till now he had believed to be exasperated. Even with the sexual teasing he witnessed on his last visit. But a look from Kirishima and his slight 'ohh' told him everything. With a low cough he let go of Ashido's breasts and simply pulled her next to him.
"If you're feeling uncomfortable we won't be doing anything."
The color of his face must have either drained completely or turned to be as red as the hair of the one having spoken that seemingly innocent sentence, for the other four burst out laughing and couldn't stop for quite some time. Shuichi wondered if he should just sink down and try to drown himself at how embarrassed he felt that the pair had even considered about doing that in front of four males, but a pair of hands around his midsection had him acknowledge another, more current problem. He swallowed hard before chuckling nervously. Right, he did need a chaperon.
"Just look the other way and try not to listen too closely, let them have their fun. And I don't bite you know … pearl."
The deep voice whispering in his ear made him shudder. Shuichi tried to look helplessly at Sero since Mina seemed to have changed her mind about being his chaperon as she pulled Eijiro towards the other end of the pool where a stone would mostly hide them away from view, at least from where Katsuki and Shuichi sat. But all the other black haired male did was give him a shrug and apologetic grin as he kept his eyes trained on where his friends had 'vanished'. He could still see them from his place in the tube and apparently he wanted to watch.
Denki wouldn't be of help either, he was only grumbling silently to himself and having closed his eyes laid back far enough for the water to cover his ears. As he could again feel Katsuki's grin against his neck, Shuichi rather wished they would be alone. He wasn't used to an audience and did not like the thought. Katsuki pulled him onto his lap below the water and leaned back, bringing Shuichi with him to lay on his chest. Shuichi suppressed a yelp as he could feel Katsuki's arousal pressed tight against his ass, but Katsuki only sighed at his stiff companion.
"Relax, I won't do anything if you're feeling uncomfortable about it, least Mina and Eijiro try to drown me afterwards. It wouldn't be fun this way."
Instead Katsuki leaned up again and grabbed a small brush he had taken with him. He started cleaning Shuichi's hands with soft strokes of the brush and the occasional help of a slim wooden tooth pick. He was very careful about it and very slowly Shuichi managed to relax against Katsuki. Not that he couldn't clean his hands by himself, but it felt nice being pampered and for once he decided not to complain about it. He even laid his head back on the other's shoulders after his hands were clean and they leaned back together.
He would have preferred not to sit in his lap, but Katsuki refused to let him go. It helped a lot that Katsuki seemed to at least have willed down his arousal, though he was still caressing Shuichi's skin with his hands, mindful of the bruises. He did it not just want to help him relax the way the hands threatened to go near his private parts, but stopped anytime the black haired would tense up. In the end it felt cozy enough for Shuichi to nearly fall asleep, he hadn't noticed how exhausted he was before that.
He woke up to Katsuki's groan and a weight added onto his pelvis as well as the feeling of crossed arms leaning onto his chest. He opened his eyes to the face of a grinning Mina and fought the urge to openly grin back, he managed a sly smile instead.
"Had enough fun or want to try the one behind me next? I am willing to share and I think he feels a bit neglected."
Shuichi's voice was croaked after nearly falling asleep and Mina's eyes held kind of an apologetic shine to them as she patted the cheek of said blond man, who only glared at her.
"Nah, just wanted to make sure this great ruffian has been treating you nicely."
Katsuki groaned again and pushed both of them off his lap making them sink under water.
"Asshole!"
Katsuki just flipped Mina off climbing out of the pool and stretched, somehow Shuichi had to giggle about the whole action. If he wouldn't think it impossible, it looked like Katsuki had really enjoyed relaxing and didn't like being caught with his soft side showing. The others followed, drying themselves as best as they could and dressed again.
"Let's hurry back before it gets dark and the old hag starts to worry."
The way down wasn't as exhausting as up, none of his companions seemed in a rush to get back and he could easily settle with the pace they set. The group reached the camp just before sun set, having taken a detour to empty the fish nets Bakugo had set up in a nearby stream. This would be their meal tonight.
The rest of the day went by in a flurry. Shuichi was too tired to remember the polite conversations he had with different people from the tribe as they sat around the fire after the evening meal, till he decided he had been yawning at their faces often enough and retired to bed. If Katsuki had planned on giving him another go at night he must be crestfallen, since Shuichi was out like a light as the barbarian decided to retire himself. He did however take care of some of the bigger cuts and bruises while he slept, as Shuichi would notice in the morning with a shudder. He must have been really out of it if he didn't even felt the sting of the healing salves.
