Of course the General would go to the Shadows rest despite the name it was the fanciest inn and tavern. Getting down from the horse he helped me down handing the reins to a near by stable hand that came running out.
"Come on inside I already have a double bed already booked for the night. There is also a tub for you to have a hot bath. While you bathe I will go down and get food for you to eat before you actually get sleep and rest."
I wasn't sure what to say. "General why are you doing this? Why are you being so nice after everything?" He huffed "because as I said when you came to me thru the bond I am tired of fighting and i guess hopefully sooner or later you will grow to love me."
"I don't know if I will be able to love you after everything but I will not come at you in anger everything will be at peace unless you try and hurt me or someone else." He nodded his head "that is all I can ask for lets go in."
Walking inside the inn was like walking onto the dry docks it was so loud people shouting. He grabbed my hand to lead me thru the crowd to a set of stairs hidden. "We are just up these stairs on the third floor, second door on the right."
He hadn't let go of my hand and I hadn't removed mine from his either I found it rather comforting. When we got to the room he started to let go of my hand I held on he looked at me confused. "Sorry you have just been such a comfort I should not have held on" letting go instantly.
He smiled at me touching my face lightly "never apologize for leaning on me for comfort. I want you you to and I hope you continue to do so in the future. Thank you for leaning on me tonight now I do believe we had a plan.
I will go down and get the food get a bath take as long as you wish there is a screen for privacy. You know just in case you're still in when i get back." Smiling "Thank you Aleksander."
He left without another word so I turned to open the door letting myself in. Gasping the room was bigger than I had expected and he had put out an outfit for me on the bed. Grabbing the outfit then going for the tub turning it as hot as I knew I would be able to stand it.
Slinking beneath the water I let out a sigh as my muscles slowly started to unkink. I had just finished washing my hair when he came back into the room with a tray full of food. "My sun I have your food whenever you're ready for it." "I've just finished washing I will be stepping out soon and getting dressed."
Getting dressed as fast as possible and walking around the screen to find the General had lit more candles around the room than needed. "What is this? There is no need for all of these candles?"
He chuckles "I figured that you needed a warmer climate and seeing as the sun has gone down and I cannot make fire. This was the best that I could do. I hope that you like it and did not get the wrong idea I know where we stand. I will not push you my sun."
Smiling walking to the table "thank you that is thoughtful of you. If you would please send your shadows to block the door and the windows." With a confused look he did as i bid. Quickly I cast two good medium size balls of light. Causing his face to light up not only with light but emotion as well.
"Can you do this anytime we have meals in our room if I blanket it?" Laughing lightly "why Aleksander I don't know" I said teasing him. His face fell not realizing I was joking. So i reached for his hand "I was just teasing you. Yes I can and will as long as we are in a safe place. Seeing as you have done so much for me this is no small thing to do plus it makes me feel better as well."
With that he thanked me and we ate dinner. Afterwards I barely made it the twelve feet to my bed before I passed out(on top of all of the bedding). Waking up the next morning I expected to be hit by the early morning rays as always but Aleksander left his shadows up.
Upon opening my eyes the only thing I see is the general putting on a shirt by the light of only a single candle. "You know you could have dropped your shadows" I spoke startling him. "I heard a rumor that a certain sun summoner was not a fan of early morning but if you are awake I will drop them."
Nodding and getting up to start my day I look at him once more. "So where do you want to begin?" He sighs "I was hoping for breakfast than we could travel back towards the spinning wheel to see if he is still there." "That sounds like a good plan."
After changing (Me behind the screen him in the main room with both yelling when done) we both head down stairs to see what they have for sell down there. Sitting down at a table he started talking before I could "I want to thank you for truly coming to me without hate so far Alina I know I do not deserve it."
"I said i would Aleksander you held up your end up the deal and I'll hold up mind. Plus I meant it when I said and you are starting to show me a side that not everyone else gets to see. We will find the prince put him on the throne then disappear to finally get to know one another. Without the influence of the outside world to get in our way."
He nodded "I like the sound of that."
