Wazup y'all!
Welcome to chapter 4.
Please don't forget to review if you have any questions or just want to give feedback.
(Care's perspective)
Doomsday was chomping at me riding atop Kong constantly.
Omni on the other hand was directing Caustic to create a hole in the wall with his acid for our escape.
I continued to distract Doomsday until he finally created the hole. He mounted Caustic and waved me over as I dashed in between Doomsday's legs.
I ran up to Omni who was dashing at full speed dead ahead.
Behind us, Doomsday had charged the hole we made and burst through it, creating a much larger hole.
It roared from behind us as I heard his stomps getting closer.
"We need to evade him! We won't outrun him in a dead sprint!" I called to Omni.
"Agreed! Let's split up! Meet at base after!" He replied.
Then we split in opposite directions.
Doomsday followed me to the right. Great, of course he chases me.
Then Kong grunted and started to wall jump from tree to tree until we were out of its reach at the top of a very tall tree.
Doomsday had stopped at the base of the tree and started to ram into it.
We realized this would knock down the tree so Kong jumped off and started to swing from the vines of other trees.
Doomsday continued to follow us from below. At one point he guessed which tree we would swing to and he knocked it down as we were swinging from the vine.
We crashed to the ground right in front of him. He greeted us with a chomp but we dodged it and ran away from him.
Then as we ran through the forestry, Omni came from behind and shot acid at one of his feet to make him fall.
Omni then slithered up to me as we were still booking it and said, "I got your back."
We bolted back to base.
"What happened? Where's Doomsday?" Mika asked.
"No time to explain. Get every creature ready for battle." Omni directed.
We all did so and waited for Doomsday to track us down.
All of the larger carnivores faced the wall directed to the deeper forest.
Omni had gotten onto the top of the wall and was scanning through the area with his Tek railgun.
Mika and myself held our Tek rifles and aimed them at the wall.
Omni let out a cry to warn us that Doomsday was near and shot at something.
Doomsday burst through the wall as every one of our creatures rushed it.
All of Omni's Arthro's and Araneo's had been on the upper part of the wall and dropped onto its back.
Webs and acid-coated the massive dinosaur nearly immediately. His tail had even been webbed to part of the wall to make him relegated to a small area.
Omni whistled and all the Arthro's dropped to the ground beside me. They turned and began to bombard Doomsday's face with acidic blood.
He roared in an attempt to intimidate us, instead, he had acid hurled into his jaws.
He spat it out which began to melt the turret we had set up.
The Spino's were clawing at his legs and inadvertently slapping Doomsday with their fins.
The Spino's cleared away for a moment while Drago charged and body checked him into the wall, partially destroying it.
Doomsday became weak and stopped fighting for a moment, panting heavily.
I whistled to all creatures to stop attacking, I then walked up to him and rested my hand on his lowered head.
He growled in return but didn't have the strength to do more than that.
I fed him a narcotic to calm him but his eyes remained glowing.
I looked to Omni with a questionable expression on my face.
Omni held his index finger up telling me to wait and examined him with his scope.
With hand signals, he told me there was something on his neck and he's going to shoot it off.
He did so and something Tek fell off and clanked to the ground beside me.
Doomsday reacted with a painful roar at first but then his eyes started to dim.
He slowly looked at me in what seemed to be pain and fear.
He made a low whimper and pushed his head into my hand.
Then suddenly, Doomsday roared in pain again. I backed away as I saw the cloud of the enforcer slowly move its way over Doomsday's back.
"Ah ah ah. It's not going to be that easy." His echoing voice boomed.
Then the cloud contracted into Tek armor for Doomsday.
The enforcer finally materialized on his back.
"Do you really think I would let you take back your beast that easily? This Ark is my master's, the Overseer, He controls all that occurs within the Ark, you are behaving disobediently. You were brought here due to a disease of your planet, and now… you are being a disease to my master. I am the Immune system, my master: the body, you… the disea-"
Then a shot rang out and half of the enforcer's head disappeared.
I looked over to Omni standing on the roof of our cabin with his railgun smoking.
"What? He talks too much!" He cried out.
Then the enforcer slowly stood straight with his head rematerializing.
"Really?" He said as he shot Omni back with a gun in his arm.
I ran over to him to check him over, He was shot in the shoulder.
"Until next time survivors." The enforcer said as he ran off atop Doomsday.
Omni stood up despite me arguing that he should lie down.
He turned and slowly climbed down the ruined part of the base, instead of going inside he turned and went towards his Araneo's. He walked up to Silky, made a stiffened hand gesture with his injured arm, then disgustingly wrapped the webbing around his shoulder.
"Eugh…" I shivered as I watched the web slowly turn red, Omni wrapped another layer which only had a tinge of red seeping into it.
Mika came back from the gate, she blew some hair out of her face before complaining about the Enforcer.
"For a giant two-legged dinosaur carrying a metallic alien saddle he sure is fast." she huffed.
"You chased him?" I asked.
"Yeah of course I did, he stole our strongest creature," she explained.
"We're gonna need something to combat him. My Arthro's are good, but even I doubt they'd be powerful enough to stop him if he came with more Roborex's and Doomsday." Omni stated.
"You're finally seeing reality." I quipped.
"I'm not saying that Arthro's are anything less than the best creature on the island, but that even something as powerful as them can be overwhelmed."
"Exactly, my Gorilla's weren't overwhelmed." I retorted.
"I don't see Kong, Louie, or Bigfoot helping repair the wall?" Omni observed as he gestured at the Arthro's and Araneo's that were helping rebuild the wall… at a very slow and inefficient rate, but effective nonetheless.
I turned to see what my gorillas were doing… they were grabbing the smashed stones of the wall and trying to figure out what they were; sniffing them, tasting them, listening to them, and banging them on the ground.
"Yeah, well… you sleep with bugs," I grumbled under my breath.
After the wall was finally rebuilt for the third time, Omni pulled me and Mika aside.
"Ok, this guy keeps coming after us. We can't hold off against him for much longer, he'll just keep coming back with stronger creatures."
"I agree, so what do you propose?" I asked.
"I think we need to split up. That way all three of his targets aren't bunched up in one spot."
"Like shooting fish in a barrel," I added.
"Exactly." He confirmed.
"But before we make any rash decisions, I think we should at least go to Thug first and get his viewpoint," I suggested.
"I agree with Care," Mika said.
"Alright, let's keep all creatures on guard while we're gone. We will only take the Argy's." He directed.
"I'll lead, I know the way." Mika declared.
As we were saddling up, Kong waddled over with King Louie and Bigfoot at his sides.
Care looked at me and said, "You never know, we may run into something along the way."
…
As we flew through the massive trees of the Redwoods, I gazed at all the hundreds of creatures scattered across the terrain.
Everything was either attacking, being attacked, or hiding from attackers.
I can see why Mika said this was a dangerous place, which is why it's the perfect place for Thug.
We swooped around a tree to see a large purple wall, with tree platforms everywhere.
Mika had landed directly in front of the main gate, me and Omni followed suit.
Bigfoot dismounted from Mika's Argy and banged on the door as she had directed.
There was a clanking noise and the door slowly creaked open.
"Hello, weary travelers! What brings you to the Redwoods?" Thug greeted with a tad bit too much enthusiasm.
"We need your help, Thug," I stated.
"Alright, why don't you come in then?"
We followed into his massive base.
There were Spino's, Rex's, pink mutated Allo's, but the most notable was his hundreds of Sabers.
"Why do you have so many Saber's?" Omni asked.
"They're my favorite creature around here, they're fast, strong, and... well, they look awesome." He mused.
"I can see that." I mused, gazing over all of them.
"Now down to business." Omni started.
Suddenly an alarm started to blare.
"Hold that thought." Thug said as he ran up a tall winding staircase to a tree platform.
"ALPHA CARNO!" He yelled.
"What did he say?" Mika asked in shock.
I then responded, "I think he said an- OH HELL!"
Suddenly it burst through the gate in a ball of flame.
This Carno glowed a bright red with embers falling from its scales, just as Mika had described it before.
All of the Saber's slowly circled around it as it bellowed at all of them.
I whistled to the monkeys to come to my side. They growled lowly.
Then I made a quick, high-pitched whistle, and the monkeys charged at full speed.
They all jumped over the Saber's at the exact same time and pounded the Carno.
The Alpha was strong, however, and he tossed them away instantly.
The monkeys landed near us with substantial burn wounds.
The Carno growled and looked straight at me. It pointed its horns down and charged.
But as it was charging, something flew down from above and slammed its head into the ground.
Thug had descended from the tree platform with his jetpack and is now boxing with an Alpha Carno with his rocket-propelled fists, and winning.
Every time the Carno would make a move, Thug would rocket punch him in the face.
At one moment, it went for a tail swipe, but Thug caught it and flipped it over his shoulder into the ground beside him.
It got up, barely damaged, and went for an attack again. Omni shot it in the neck with his Tek railgun right before it could strike.
Myself and Mika slowly walked up ahead of him, spraying bullets all over the Carno with our Tek rifles.
At this moment the Saber's finally rushed it, making Mika and myself stop firing so we wouldn't shoot them.
I noticed that even though the Saber's were many, their momentum and numbers could not match the Alpha. He just picked them up one by one and tossed them away, and even if a Saber tried to attack it from behind, it would just get burned from its ember scales.
We then heard a war cry from a woman behind us, an Allo rider followed by other pink mutated Allo's charged the fire-wielding beast.
The Saber's scattered as soon as the Allo's came close. At this moment the monkeys decided to join the fun again.
This time their attacks were effective with the help of the Allo army assisting them.
Eventually, the Alpha Carno was finally overpowered and killed.
The woman walked over to us once the Carno was partially harvested and tossed us each something.
"Thanks for your help out there, these Alpha's show up a lot and they kill a lot of our Saber's." She said.
"Bria hi!" Mika exclaimed.
"Hey!"
"You two know each other?" I asked.
"Yeah, she bred Pinky, my Allo. That's why she's pink, she's mutated."
"That's really cool," Omni replied.
I examined the item Bria tossed us and realized it was a bone helmet.
"Thanks for this," I said.
"No problem. So what are your names?" Bria asked.
"I'm Omni, and this is Care." Omni introduced.
"Oh yeah! I've heard about you guys! You're the ones I have to thank for this Tek armor." She said gesturing to it.
"All in a day's work." I mused.
Thug then walked over.
"So? Did you need to talk about something?" He asked.
"Ah yes, remember the Tek Rex carcass we gave you?" Omni started.
"Yeah?" Thug responded.
"That Rex was being controlled by something we know as the enforcer." He stated.
Then Omni continued to explain that the enforcer was basically the servant of something called "the Overseer" and was tracking us down because we weren't submissive about giving him the artifact.
Then he explained what happened with Doomsday and that we needed his help.
"Ok… first thing we need to do is get a new Giga, and then we need to get Mary."
"You know Mary? Oh wait stupid question, she's a dossier writer." I corrected.
"That's right. She will be able to find a Giga easily, I'll talk to her and I'm sure we can arrange something."
"Oh, and Omni," Thug continued.
"Yeah?"
"This guy is made of Tek right?" He asked.
"Yes?" Omni continued.
"Then I suggest you tame some more Arthro's."
(Omni's perspective)
Me, Mika, Care, Thug, and Bria had found and asked Mary for help, we had been searching for another Giganatosaurus, instead, we happened to find her base. Eventually, after another few hours of searching Mary finally found one. She told us her coordinates through the Radio Thug had gifted all of us. We all arrived at a mountain on one side of a valley. Below us stood a green and yellow Giga, trapped between two mountains and two large stone walls. The result of some Explosive-Triggered-Avalanches. Currently, it was shredding a Trike carcass. The five of us stood atop one of the two mountains, it couldn't reach us up here. Thug and Bria had come prepared, they brought the explosives we used to trap the Giga, they brought a Shock Rod, higher tier Riot armor, a Riot shield, a thick sturdy iron pole in case the Giga did manage to eat someone, and a lot of the jellyfish toxin.
Care put on the armor, held the shield and iron rod in his left while he brandished the shock rod with his right.
He jumped and slid down the cliff till he was at the bottom, causing a mini landslide in his wake.
The mini landslide caught the Giga's attention, it turned and seemed to sneer at Care.
It turned from its meal and slowly stalked forward, suddenly it snapped its jaws, but Care had leaped to the side. In the process of dodging Care managed to shock the Giga, it turned and tried to chomp him again in retaliation. Care jumped back and shocked the Giga perfectly on the snout.
"Boop." Mika comically added sound effects.
The Giga reared back in irritation and roared loudly at Care.
Care jumped forward and shocked the inside of the Giga's mouth, the pain made it snap its mouth closed around Care, except the iron rod had been wedged between its jaws and kept it from snapping its jaws shut fully, Care took the opportunity to shock the giant dinosaur another several dozen times.
It roared and spat both Care and the rod out and stomped forward to try and crush him. Care stepped to the side and placed himself perfectly between the Giga's toes.
"Tickle tickle," Mika added as Care electrocuted its foot.
"Do we even need to help?" Mary asked.
"He seems to have it under control." Thug replied.
"Zap," Mika added as Care stood atop the Giga's foot and electrocuted its leg while the Giga couldn't reach him.
The Giga kicked its leg out and threw Care into the avalanche, Care bounced off one of the larger rocks and knelt on the grass. He stood up painfully and brandished the shock rod.
The Giga looked at the crackling rod and groaned before slamming the tip of its snout into the ground. (1)
The ground shook from the force of the Giga's submission.
"Earthquake!" Mika added sarcastically.
"Interesting. He's managed to tame it without knocking it out." Bria observed.
Care then walked up and put his hand on its bowed head and fed it some meat.
We blew up one of the walls so that the Giga and Care can exit.
"What's his name?" Mary asked Care.
"Berserker." He said with a smile.
"Well, how is Berserker going to get back to your base, if I remember correctly it was on the other side of the island?" Mary noted.
"I mean... I chased Doomsday earlier, he was pretty fast." Mika said.
"He's faster when he's chasing you." Care quipped.
"So, you're just gonna have him dash across the island?" I asked.
"Yup!" Care confirmed.
…
We flew across the sky on our Argy's with Berserker following at full speed below.
We then flew over toward our base to see it in ruins. All of our herbivores were dead, even the Bronto.
But there were some unknown creatures that lay lifeless all over the base.
We landed in the center of our base which was a big mistake.
As soon as we landed a net flew over us.
"Well, well, well. The bug whisperer has returned." A voice said from afar.
"I'm here too ya know?" Care exclaimed, slightly offended.
"Shut up." The person ordered.
"Bug whisperer huh? I kinda like the sound of that." I quipped.
An irritated look appeared on the opposer's face.
"But I'm not the only whisperer here ya know. I'd like to introduce you to the Giganto whisperer."
Then Care made a whistle as Kong broke the net and all three Gigantopithecus' walked slowly toward the opposer, who I now recognize as Penny, and punched him across the base.
Penny then got up and laughed.
"When you said Giganto whisperer, I almost thought you meant-"
Then Berserker broke through the wall behind him and tore him in two by grabbing his chest with his jaws and ripping him apart with his hand. (2)
Once Penny was killed, the monkeys then started to scout the area for more intruders to find a woman who I recognized as Crystal.
Kong picked her up by the back of her shirt and started to grunt loudly, asking permission to smash her into the ground.
"WAIT WAIT PLEASE!" She exclaimed, "I DIDN'T KILL ANYTHING! THIS WAS ALL PENNY, PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"
Mika then ripped her out of Kong's grasp and pinned her to the ground with her sword.
"And why should we believe you?"
"Wait," I said raising my hand.
"She and Penny were in the tribe that captured me, she was the only one to actually care for Survivor and myself. I think we can trust her."
"Oh yes thank you." She said very fast.
"I vote she wears cuffs until we can actually trust her, just in case she tries anything when we're not looking." Care stated.
"Agreed," Mika said, putting her sword back in its sheath.
As Care was cuffing Crystal, I looked over to a group of Spino's huddled together, whining.
I walked over with Mika and Care following to see a wounded Spino in the center of the group with a large crater-like wound in its side.
I then saw that it was Hookfang, my first Spino.
He just laid there, gasping for breath.
"I tried to stop him." Crystal said from behind us, "Penny was rigging C4 everywhere, your Spino ran right into one of his traps. If I didn't push him out of the way in time, there would be nothing left. At least now you can say goodbye."
I looked back to Hookfang who was now looking back at me.
I just laid beside him, petting him. Care and Mika joined me.
Eventually, Hookfang looked at all three of us, made a satisfied growl, and closed his eyes for the last time.
I got up and looked upon him in grief.
"You always lose at least one." Mika started, "You just have to learn to move on."
I walked away and stared at the obelisk, waiting for Penny to respawn.
After about 30 seconds a beacon landed right outside our base.
I called my Arthro's to my sides.
Penny then walked around the corner but stopped in his tracks when he saw me approaching.
Once we got close to him, he held up his fists like a boxer as my Arthro's rose up in their intimidating position.
"You gonna let your bugs do your dirty work? You too prim and proper to dirty your own hands?" He mocked.
"Oh, on the contrary, taming these I've already soiled my hands, holding spoiled meat and all… Word of advice: don't resist, it will hurt less."
Then his eyes went wide.
I made a quick, high-pitched whistle as the Arthro's shot themselves at Penny. I walked away as Penny was screaming.
Once I got back to our group, I looked around the base.
There were dead creatures everywhere, with almost everything destroyed except for the two metal bases in the corner.
"We can't fix this in time." I thought aloud, "There are raiders at least every 3 hours. We won't be able to fix the base in time."
"I think we may have to split up," Mika admitted.
"I hate to admit it, but yeah," Care added.
"Let's decide which creatures go to who, and we'll work from there. I only want my bugs and that's it."
"I don't want to be alone…" Mika admitted.
"I'm gonna go to the north, there should be some more wolves for you there." Care said.
"Alright, sure."
"So it's decided. I'll move into my cave with my bugs, and you will move to the north with the rest of the creatures."
"Yep," Care confirmed.
"Do you mind if I take any unused Chitin or Ghillie armor?" I asked.
"Sure, I'll never wear bug skin anyway." Care joked as he handed me a bunch of the Blueprints.
"I'm not the sneaky type, and bright green won't do well in the north," Mika said as she handed me a ghillie suit.
"Is there anything you guys will need from me?" I asked.
"Not that I can think of," Care responded.
"What about Judge?" Mika asked.
"Could you take care of him for me while I'm at the cave?"
"Of course." Care said, taking my hand in a handshake.
"Until next time," I replied.
(Mika's perspective)
I walked through the deep forest riding Poseidon, my Spino.
My wolves were creating a perimeter around the creatures in case something tries to sneak up on us.
Crystal was handbound on Drago's saddle.
I walked on with the direction of Care above us on Nightwing.
At this point, we had crossed the island to the swamp. There were several aggressive creatures the wolves slaughtered easily with the aid of Care's monkeys.
We crossed the swamp and headed into a forest with thin trees on a hilly landscape.
Care flew ahead over a hill out of my view.
As I was trying to catch up, I saw a silver and blue creature ahead.
It saw me and stood its ground. And then howled.
That was a Tek Dire Wolf. But wait a second, there's no other wolves around, why did it…
Oh no.
I whipped out my radio and called to Care.
"We need to go now, the enforcer is coming."
"How do you know?"
"I just know, ok? Now get out of here."
"Yes ma'am."
I then dashed toward the wolf as it lunged at me. I caught it by the belly and jammed a shocking spear into it over and over.
Eventually, it was knocked and I laid it in front of me while everything around me was bolting at full speed in Care's general direction.
Eventually, there were several Tek creatures chasing me, Carno's, Raptor's, and even Rex's.
I evaded them a few times but more still came.
"SOS I repeat SOS." I cried through the radio, "I'm being chased by a horde of Tek creatures in the north, please someone help!"
About 30 seconds later, Thug and Bria appeared at my sides, flying.
Once we got to the other side of the forest, All the creatures turned and faced behind them, waiting for the attackers.
I stepped back and laid the wolf on the ground. I tried feeding it meat but it just ground it up and spat it out.
Then I thought to myself, this is a machine, so maybe it eats… oil?
I took some oil out of my inventory from the disassembled fabricator and poured it into the wolf's mouth.
As soon as that happened all the blue lights on him started to get brighter.
I had to give him a lot of oil but eventually, I tamed it.
As soon as it woke up, all the Tek creatures burst through the forest and stopped in their tracks.
They looked upon the Tek wolf in confusion and almost fear.
The wolf walked up and howled with the rest of my wolves doing the same.
As soon as that happened, all the wolves pounced on the Rex.
Care's monkeys then went for the legs and knocked it down.
Then all of the other creatures rushed the rest of them, but I ordered them not to kill the Rex.
As soon as I said that, the Tek wolf bit into the neck of the Rex and I think it tased it.
There was electricity spreading all over the Rex's face and neck and eventually, it was knocked unconscious.
As soon as this happened, all the other Tek creatures bailed instantly.
"Woah. Something spooked them." Brian said, not noticing the Tek wolf.
Then Thug looked over to be with the wolf and he whipped his handgun out.
"It's ok, he's a friend," I said calmly.
"He's a frie- You tamed it?!" He exclaimed in shock.
"Yeah? It was actually pretty easy, they just eat oil."
"Wow…" Bria mused as she closely examined the wolf.
"Tek creatures are like royal guards for this enforcer, taming one of them is kind of a big deal." Thug stated.
"Why thank you," I replied.
"What are you gonna name him or her?" Bria asked.
"Nymeria."
(Omni's perspective.)
Down below in the ground, I had been exploring the cave. The one where I had first attempted to tame the Arthro's. It seemed the one that I had failed to tame had moved on further into the cave. And all the others seemed to 'tolerate' my presence as long as I didn't bother them and I was close to my own tamed Arthro's and Araneo's. The bats seemed curious about the new 'half-welcome' intruder, they never attacked but got uncomfortably close. They sort of flew above us for a short while, sniffing and calling, occasionally one would swoop down to get a closer sniff but quickly retreated once it sensed the tension my bugs had.
I walked down a short declining ramp. It came out to a small cavern, in front of me was a bunch of Arthro's and Araneo's and scorpions and a bunch of other creatures. I took the opportunity to throw a lot of my spoiled meat into a pile, and before long I had a larger bug Army than I initially had.
Turning to my left as Arthro's and Araneo's rushed to my side, I saw a large light shining down on a small land bridge between two pools of water, there were stalactites and stalagmites and stone pillars holding up the roof of the cavern, it almost looked majestic, with the bright spotlight illuminating the only non-fungal plants in this entire cave system.
"There… there is where my hive will be." I breathed.
