Chapter 2: A Shocking Discovery
Everything went black and Nebula in a purple sweater top and black leggings was seen slumped in front of a television.
"Watching the video of our wedding again? A male voice was heard asking. Nebula turned her head to see Rad carrying a small girl with one arm. "Still nothing?" he asked as he put the small girl on the couch and he began to search for something. Nebula ran her fingers through her hair and she moved to sit next to the girl. "Blorp'' Rad exclaimed as he hit his head on something while he was searching. "Blorp'' the girl said and Nebula smiled at the memory of the girl's first word being "Blorp" when she heard Rad say it. As they talked, the girl crawled onto Nebula's lap and she stared at the adults in confusion. "Mama? What are you and Papa tawking about?" the girl asked. "Nothing to worry about sweetie" Nebula said softly as she pet the girl's head lovingly. Rad then sat next to Nebula with a children's book in his hands.
"I just don't get why he returned." she said as she ran her hands through her hair. "The main thing is how he was able to return. I thought that Azra sent him away back in New York all those years ago" Rad commented as he opened the book. 'He's been making small attacks as if he is taunting us and just when we think we found him, boom! He attacks somewhere else and we're back at square one!" Nebula said and Rad put a hand on her back. "Let's just do what we can. We're gonna find him sooner or later" he said. "Papa, story!" Ula said as she started to get impatient. "Hm? Oh! Sorry pumpkin" he said as he ruffled her greenish-blue hair. Nebula then placed the child on Rad's lap. "I'll go get dinner started" she said. She then kissed their cheeks and walked off into the kitchen.
Moments later, she was stirring a spoon in a pot and Rad hugged her from behind as he laid his head on her shoulder. "Still thinking about him?" Rad asked. "I just can't figure out how he could return from who knows where Azra sent him away to" she responded as she scooped the spoon in the pot and held the spoon out to Rad. He happily opened his mouth and Nebula fed him the contents of the spoon. He gave her a thumbs up and she turned off the stove. Rad released his hold on her as she put the spoon in the sink. "Just what is he planning?" she questioned as Rad set out three bowls on the small dining table. "Does Az know anything?" he asked and Nebula shook her head. Rad then levitated Ula into the kitchen and into her seat. "I just can't imagine how she'll react if we are able to catch him. Even if it's for a moment" she said as she used a ladle to serve the food. "Don't you mean when we do?" Rad asked as he sat near the small child and he began to feed her.
That night, Rad was putting their daughter to bed while Nebula was out on their bedroom balcony. She let out a sigh as a light breeze blew and lightly ruffled her hair. "Hello again my dear" a dark yet smooth voice was heard saying. Nebula gasped as the male that everyone was searching for stepped out of the shadows. With a wave of his hand, the balcony's doors slammed shut and locked as the curtains in the bedroom closed and the door was locked.
"Nebula... Look at you, you're even more beautiful than when I last saw you all those years ago" The male cooed as he stroked her cheek with the back of his hand. "A-Aiden" she gasped as he wrapped his arms around her with a smirk. "You've gotten slimmer yet you still have your figure from back then.I bet that Radicles still doesn't appreciate what a goddess you are" he breathed out as he gazed upon her figure. "Actually, he does" She responded as she pulled away from him and held up her left hand, showing off her wedding ring. "In fact, he loves me so much that we have a kid together!" she said as she slowly backed away from him. "Nebs? You okay out there? Why did you lock the door?" she heard Rad asking from outside the bedroom door. "Tell him your fine or I'll destroy him and your child" he threatened coldly. "I'm fine! I'm uh... getting changed" she called back and Aiden nodded at her. "Why are you here? What do you want? Why do you keep attacking and then disappearing?" Nebula asked and Aiden sighed. "You ask far too many questions my dear. But, since it's you asking, I'll tell you. I'll be frank, I want you and I want revenge" he responded coldly. "But I'm married and I have a child" she responded.
"Yes, but I still desire you. Years ago, you were the only one who showed me-well, the old me- even an ounce of kindness. You lit a fire in me and it's been burning bright for you all these years" he responded sickeningly sweet. "But why me? I'm sure that there are dozens of girls that will want to be with you" she said as he slowly walked closer to her. "Yes but none of them are you" he said softly as she was forced against the wall. Nebula turned her head as Aiden's face got closer to her. "You even smell as good as you did back then" he breathed out.
Before he could do anything else, he heard the sound of the bedroom door being broken down. "I'll be back. If you dare tell anyone, I won't hesitate to destroy everything that you hold dear. Understand?" he threatened darkly and she nodded her head. "Good. I'll be back for you soon so don't get comfortable" he said and just as Rad forcefully threw back the curtains, Aiden disappeared into the shadows.
