Chapter 5: The Battle Begins
After Aiden left Azra's house, he went to the cave that he called a hideout and sat on a rock. He then began to plan his next attack. His mind still wandered back to his family and past life. He then shook his head and took a deep breath. "I guess that spell is wearing off… eternal darkness my foot! I know I did the spell correctly… Oh well..." he said and he let out a sigh. He then summoned a slightly worn book and he flipped through the pages.
"Maybe Azra has the right idea. Since I have all this power, and more, once I control all the magic, maybe I should continue with my old goal… I'll get Nebula to love me, we'll start a family… But then what?" he pondered as he paced around the cave. He stopped his pacing when he looked outside of the cave.
"Yes! That's it! I'll take over Lakewood, then the world, then the heavens! I'll defeat the President of the Universe and then I'll be a god that will rule over all!" he boasted and he let out a maniacal laugh. He then went to a corner of the cave that had a pile of blankets and pillows. "Soon, I won't have to live like this, tomorrow my plan begins!" he said and he then settled into his makeshift bed and fell asleep.
The next day, Aiden woke up and used his magic to get himself ready for the day. He was then transported to a familiar patio where a wide spread of breakfast foods was waiting for him with a note.
"I know you're the bad guy and all, but you're still my brother. Here's some breakfast to get you through the day" he read. He looked at the food and he shook his head. "Azra, will you ever get the fact that we're supposed to be enemies through your head?" he asked coldly. "But still, the food does look good and she was always a good cook" he said. He then sat down in a patio chair and ate the food. Once he was done, he waved his hand and a small note with a simple 'Thank You' in fancy writing on it. He then disguised himself as an unknown friendly person and went to Lakewood Plaza Turbo.
When he arrived, he walked in and casually strolled the aisles. He could hear the sound of a young child hiding among the shelves. "Rad? What are you doing? Weren't you and Ula supposed to be setting up a display?" he heard Nebula ask from the next aisle. "Uhh… about that…. She wanted to play hide and seek and I maybe sorta… can't find her... " Rad admitted. "Okay. New plan" she said with a sigh. "Marco" She called. "Polo" They heard Ula call back and she came out from behind a display.
"Radicles!" they heard Mr. Gar call and Nebula scooped Ula in her arms. Rad then ran off to where their boss was. Aiden smirked and knocked a can off of a nearby shelf. Nebula then walked into the aisle where he was. "Oh dear, I am terribly sorry" A disguised Aiden said. "It's okay. Are you alright? Is there anything I can help you with?" she asked.
'If only you knew' Adien thought as he smirked. "Not at the moment, but perhaps I can help you. What is such a young and beautiful woman like you doing with a small child? Don't you work here? It's very lenient of your boss to let you babysit while you're here" he stated. ""Huh? Oh! No, you got it all wrong. This is my daughter, she's being looked after by the woman who owns the dojo next door. She's here to talk to my boss about something important so my boss said that she could help us, as in my husband and I, here" Nebula explained as Ula ran up to her and hugged her leg.
"Mama and Papa say that I'm a good helper!" Ula said happily and Nebula let out a chuckle. "Ulana!" they heard a female calling. "Ah, perfect timing, that's Miss Carol. Run along sweetie, Mommy and Daddy will see you after work, okay? Be sure to behave" she cooed and Ula nodded happily. "Go find Daddy and tell him goodbye Nebula then kissed Ula's cheek. The girl then happily ran off to find her father. "Sweet girl" he commented as Nebula let out a sweet laugh. "Thank you" she said and she smiled when she heard Rad with Ula. "Sorry about that. So, is there anything I can help you find?" she asked. "Not at the moment, thank you though" he said. "Well, if you need anything, as you can see from my name tag, my name is Nebula. Feel free to holler if you change your mind" she said and she then walked off.
Aiden then continued his wandering. "Sure thing Radamese" he heard Crinkly Wrinkly say and he went over to a nearby supply closet where Crinkly Wrinkly was talking to his reflection in a mirror.
"It's Radicles" Rad said, getting impatient. "Radalese?" Crinkly Wrinkly asked. "RADICLES!" Rad yelled. "Kevin?" Crinkly Wrinkly asked and Rad then lost his patience. "Babe!" he called angrily "On it!" He heard her call back and the sound of Nebula's heeled boots clicking rapidly against the tiled floor. "Come on Crinkly Wrinkly" she said with a sigh as she levitated the elder out of the closet. "Thanks babe" Rad said and he kissed her cheek. She then gave Rad some instructions and he went off to do her bidding.
"So, by the way that he did what you told him, I assume that he was your husband?" Disguised Aiden asked and Nebula happily nodded. "So, did you change your mind?" she asked and Aiden shook his head. "I'm still browsing. I'm new here and I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for" he said with a small chuckle. "I get what you mean. Well, if you need any help with settling in, I'm always happy to help" she said and Aiden hugged her. "Thank you very much! That means a lot to me! I don't know anyone here and it makes me happy to know that I have someone I can rely on" he said happily. "Sure! As I said, I'm always happy to help" she said awkwardly. "Hey, everything okay here?" Rad's gruff voice was heard asking. "Yeah, we're fine" Nebula responded. "Then why is he hugging you?" Rad asked as he approached them. "He's new to Lakewood and I offered to help him get settled" she responded. "Dude, can you please let go of my wife?" Rad asked, trying not to sound too angry. "Awh, are you jealous?" Nebula cooed as Aiden hesitantly released his hold on her. Rad was slightly blushing and looking away. "Awh, Raddie" she cooed as she hugged him. "Better?" she asked and she kissed his cheek. "I need to go restock the back, Rad, do mind helping me?" she asked and Rad put an arm around her waist as they walked off.
"Hm, it seems that to get the girl, I need to separate her from that buffoon" Aiden said. As he went into the alley near the plaza. "Well, isn't this familiar? The very place where I was transformed" he said with a laugh. He then smirked and let out an evil laugh as he had an idea.
