Chapter 25:
Seasons with the Mon
Location: Driftveil City
"Fascinating," Clay said taking a look at Hilbert's Journal. Rood was there to. "And you've been keeping this secret?"
"Uh huh," I said. "It's my goal to find Hilbert, and I believe Team Plasma, the bad one, might have something to do with it. Well, actually it was before Team Plasma split in two."
"This is how I remember it. Our battle. Yes, his Drilbur did what I thought was unthinkable. I have to turn this over to the authorities."
Upon hearing those words, I snatched it back off Clay. "You can't. It's mine. I mean Hilbert's. I need to return it to him."
"It's understandable," said Rood. "Let her use it."
Clay put his hand to one side. "Yer an ambitious one, I tell ya. But okay. Good luck with Skyla." He got out his pickaxe and almost took my face off. "I warn ya; she's a high flyer."
Location: Route 6
With five Badges to my name, I headed down Route 6. As stated, many times, Mistralton City is the next stop. It's where Skyla is the Gym Leader. The only thing between Route 6 and Mistralton is the Chargestone Cave. I hope I don't have a bad experience like Hilbert did.
"Might as well get some training in whilst I'm here to," I thought to myself.
I saw a Breeder who was waiting for someone to pass by. I happened to be that person!
"I'm busy, but yeah. I can show you what I've got!"
Rosa Vs. PKMN Breeder April
"I choose Minccino!" April commanded, sending out her Normal Type.
"You're up Servine!" I said. I noticed something upon sending out Servine; its tail was glowing green, and it was sharper. "Could that be? Well, no use pondering. Let's try it out. Servine, Leaf Blade!" Servine ran over to Minccino and swiped it with its tail. It was a hit! "Servine you learned Leaf Blade! Nice job!" However, it also backfired a bit. With the foes Minccino being female, Servine fell victim to the Cute Charm. "Uh oh," I said.
"Minccino, Swift attack!" Minccino fired stars at Servine. Servine was too in love to care. Not just about the Swift, but to attack either. "Another Swift!" Minccino fired more stars at Servine.
"Use Leaf Tornado!" I shouted. Servine managed to get in a Leaf Tornado, and finished Minccino. "Not bad at all Servine!"
"I'm not finished yet. Deerling, go!"
Deerling (シキジカ)
159
Normal/Grass Type
Season Pokémon
2'00" (0.6 m)
43 lbs (19.5 kg)
Their coloring changes according to the seasons and can be slightly affected by the temperature and humidity as well.
"Nice one Servine. Okay Growlithe, come out!" I shouted.
"Jump Kick Deerling!" Deerling jumped over to Growlithe and kicked it in the face. It was quite strong.
After getting his, Growlithe started dashing about all over the place. Its Speed rose. "That's Agility!" I shouted. "Good one Growlithe! Okay, now use Reversal!" Growlithe started glowing blue. It then charged into Deerling. With all the damaged applied, Deerling was down in one shot.
"Wait, I'm too busy to battle!"
With that out the way, I continued making my way down the path. I wanted to go a bit further than the season lab where they were doing research on Deerling and Sawsbuck, mainly because I wanted to clear Chargestone Cave in one day as to not be in there too long.
I wanted to have another battle, so I came across a Scientist.
"That's enough Deerling for now. I want to see other Pokémon!"
Rosa Vs. Scientist Marissa
"Go Minccino!" I shouted.
"I choose Shelmet!" Marissa said.
Minccino suddenly ran over to Zorua and forced its shell shut on its lips-mouth thing. (I don't even know what it is). "That's odd," Marissa said. "Minccino can't learn Foul Play."
"It just learned it!" I said.
"Well, okay then. Shelmet, Struggle Bug!" Resisting, Shelmet attacked Minccino who turned back into Zorua.
"You got through our disguise. Zorua, another Foul Play!" Zorua slammed Shelmet's shell shut again. This was a Critical Hit and took Shelmet down.
"What an interesting Pokémon. Okay Karrablast, go!"
Karrablast (カブルモ)
155
Bug Type
Clamping Pokémon
1'08" (0.5 m)
13 lbs (5.9 kg)
For some reason they evolve when they receive electrical stimulation while they are in the same place as Shelmet.
"Good job Zorua. Okay Growlithe, go!" I shouted. It was Fire Type vs. Bug Type. I had the advantage. "Use Flame Burst!" Growlithe fired a ball of fire at Karrablast. It didn't quite knock it out.
"Use Headbutt!" Karrablast slammed Growlithe with its head. Growlithe shook it off.
"Now Fire Fang!" Growlithe chomped down on Karrablast. It was the final move of the battle.
"Well, back to Deerling I suppose."
After a few more wild Pokémon battles with not much happening, I made it to the entrance to Chargestone Cave. Thankfully, there were no Galvantula webs in the way. But I wasn't willing to go through that day. "Tomorrow," I thought.
The next leg of my journey begins. I'll say, this is one part I'm not looking forward to.
