Chapter 30:
Push Reversal
Location: Lentimas Town
"All set?" Bianca asked me, carrying at least twice her weight in supplies in her backpack.
"Yep!" I said. "Sidenote, I was talking to Mr. Cheren today about Serperior, and he said it can now learn a move called Coil! It raises Attack, Defense and Accuracy!"
"Yeah," Bianca said. "He sure knows his stuff doesn't he… anyway. Onwards and upwards!"
Location: Reversal Mountain (Outer)
Before we went in, I got out my Town Map. "On the other side of Reversal Mountain is Undella Town," I said. "Hey, Summer has just started! It should be thriving!"
"Uh huh!" Bianca said. "Especially as they are in preparation of opening the Marine Tube, which will connect the settlements of… well, I'll tell you when we get there. Times a wasting young explorer!"
Location: Reversal Mountain (Inner)
The inside of Reversal Mountain had black rocks, but also pools of water. Strange. For a volcano, I expected pools of magma. But water at least won't burn my skin off, so I wasn't complaining. They did say it was dormant.
"I'll use my own Pokémon," Bianca said. "So, if wild Pokémon attack, we can take them on together. Trainer battles though? You can do those yourself; I want to see how strong you've become!"
That sounded fair. I was looking forward to battling alongside the person who helped me start my journey!
Sooner than we expected, we came into a wild battle. It was a Woobat and a grey Pokémon with one springy leg that it was bouncing on. It had a large-pink pearl on its head.

"Don't knock it down," I said. "Okay Trapinch, go!" I shouted.
"And I choose Musharna!" Bianca shouted, sending out a Psychic Type of her own.

The dream mist coming from its forehead changes into many different colors depending on the dream that was eaten.

Woobat started with Air Slash, firing a slash through the air that hit Musharna. Meanwhile, Spoink used Zen Headbutt. Its pearl started glowing blue, and it charged into Trapinch.
"Musharna, Shadow Ball!" However, Musharna couldn't; the Air Slash forced a flinch! "No!" Bianca shouted.
Trapinch, seeing its new friend in distress, dug underground. It then came up to Spoink and sunk its teeth into it hard. "That's Crunch!" I shouted. "Trapinch has learned a Dark Type move at the right time!"
This time, the Air Slash and Zen Headbutt were fired at Trapinch however. Two blows meant that Trapinch was finished.
"It's an open target now!" Bianca yelled. "Shadow Ball on Woobat, Musharna!" Musharna fired a black ball at Woobat, knocking it out in one blow.
"Zoroark, go!" I replied. "Use Night Slash!" Zoroark's claws turned black and it swiped Woobat. Woobat was finished.
"Allow me to heal your Pokémon," Bianca said. "That's why I brought all these supplies."
I expected Bianca to be a handy asset, and she was. Of course, she journeyed with the greatest Trainer in the Unova region, so why wouldn't she be?
We went into the next room. This is where Bianca got excited. "Look!" she said, running over to a large footprint. "Yes, yes, yes! This is it?"
"What?" I asked. The footprint was square with a circle inside. "Which Pokémon could have caused this?"
Bianca looked up at me with confidence. "Heatran."
"No way!" I shouted. "What's a Heatran?"
"A Legendary from the Sinnoh region, found in Stark Mountain, which is the same type of volcano as Reversal Mountain. Whilst it is Legendary, multiple have been found with genders, but they reproduce asexually."
Fascinating. "Are you going to catch it?" I asked.
"Nah," she said. "Emboar is my key Fire Type. I just want to see one for myself. Anyway, let's keep moving."
Well, we would if there wasn't a Black Belt that challenged us.
"Ha! Come for volcano training to?"

"Serperior, I choose you!" I shouted.
"I choose Gurdurr!" Corey replied.
"Okay Serperior, Coil!" Serperior coiled around and, like Mr. Cheren said, its stats rose.
"Chip Away Gurdurr!" Gurdurr started chipping at Serperior with its metal beam. Chip Away is a move that ignores Defense boosts, so that wasn't fun. But at least Serperior's Attack was higher to.
"Leaf Blade!" Serperior's tail started glowing green. It then swiped Gurdurr. A Critical Hit, Gurdurr was finished.
"Impressive work. But next up is Scrafty!" Corey said.

It pulls up its shed skin to protect itself while it kicks. The bigger the crest, the more respected it is.

"Another Leaf Blade!" Serperior swiped at Scrafty. It did about half, though it could have done more if Scrafty didn't pull up its skin.
"High Jump Kick!" Scrafty jumped at Serperior and kicked it in the face. It was quite a blow, but I had this.
"Leaf Blade one more time!" Serperior swiped at Scrafty, and it was finished.
"The volcano has overwhelmed me…"
"Oh yeah! Mr. Cheren was right!" I told Serperior.
"I mean, he usually is…" Bianca said. "I mean, he can be a bit of a know it all, but I think he's grew out of that phase. I mean, I hope he-"
I smiled at her. "So, Mr. Cheren. Do you like him?"
Bianca's face went as red as a Darumaka. "What? No! Well, I mean, what are you talking about? No. I mean, sure. We journeyed together two years ago, but is that enough to justify romantic feelings for him? Oh look, a Trainer! Go, Musharna!" Bianca shouted, sending out her Psychic Type.
"Err, what are you doing?" I asked.
"Psychic!" Musharna lifted me off the ground.
"What what?!" I shouted, as Musharna blasted me back. I went in front of the Backpacker's eyes.
"Well, that's one way of getting an encounter in."
Rosa Vs. Backpacker Kumiko
"Golbat, go!" shouted Kumiko, sending out the blue Pokémon.
"Hold on!" I said. "Go Serperior!"
"Acrobatics!" Golbat summersaulted over to Serperior, but it missed.
Suddenly, Serperior started edging on Golbat. It got angry at Serperior.
"Try Acrobatics again!" However, Golbat couldn't.
"Wow!" Bianca shouted. "Serperior learned… Torment? I mean it can learn it through TM… what's going on?"
"Air Cutter!" Golbat fired streaks of air at Serperior. It hit, revealing Serperior to be Zoroark.
"Oh… that makes sense," Bianca said. "Wait… could that be?"
"Zoroark, Night Slash!" Zoroark went up to Golbat and swiped at it, landing a Critical Hit.
"Acrobatics!" Golbat somersaulted and turned over to Zoroark, this time getting a hit in.
"Another Night Slash!" Zoroark slashed Golbat across the face, resulting in it fainting.
"Thanks, Golbat. Okay Darmanitan, go!"

"Okay Azumarill, take it on!" I yelled.
"Hammer Arm!" Darmanitan brought its fists down onto Azumarill; it almost went down.
"Come back with Aqua Tail!" Azumarill's tail started glowing blue. It then hit Darmanitan with it. It was a Critical Hit and took down Darmanitan in one.
"Well, that ends the most out of nowhere battle ever."
"Sorry about that," Bianca said.
"It's fine," I said. "I shouldn't have acted so immature. If you don't know whether you like Mr. Cheren, if you do at all, that's fine."
Bianca smiled. "Okay, you got me. I may or may not have had my eye on him since our journey. But that's all I'll say on the matter, and please don't go spreading it around."
I gave a pinkie promise to Bianca. "Don't worry, it's just between you and me. On the condition that you tell him after I've become Champion."
Bianca blushed. "I'm not sure… Hey. Can I see that Zoroark of yours?"
I sent out Zoroark (well, Serperior but I told it to stop the Illusion). Zoroark looked at Bianca.
"Are you… you are! You were Hilbert's Zorua at one point!" The two hugged. "Where the heck did you find it?"
"Team Plasma gave it to me. The old one that's nice now."
Bianca stroked Zoroark's red hair. "Look how much you've grown. I'm proud of you. Hey, I have an idea. Shall we call it a day? We've got a long way to go before we reach Undella Town."
That sounded like a plan.
Reversal Mountain, the second biggest mountain in the Unova region. I am making my way through it. And hopefully, Bianca will be making her way to a potential new life with Mr. Cheren. I hope so; she deserves someone like him.
