Chapter 32:
Battle on the Beach
Location: Undella Town
With so much going on, I decided a break for two days at the beach was needed. I already had 6 Badges (as did Hugh) and it felt like we hadn't been taking many breathers. So that's what we decided to do. The Wingull glided on the winds above us.

It makes its nest on sheer cliffs. Riding the sea breeze, it glides up into the expansive skies.
"I tell ya," Bianca said. "That Mountain wasn't a walk in the park. It was a walk through… a mountain."
"Well, it's over now!" I said. "And hey, the best thing about it was Trapinch evolved! Come on out!" I sent out Vibrava. "And check this out. Use DragonBreath!" Vibrava shot purple energy out to sea. "It learned it! We're doing great!"
"Just how great though?" Hugh asked. "Tomorrow I'm going to be heading to Opulucid City. I have a feeling Drayden might be of use in taking down Team Plasma."
"Not today though!" Bianca said. "I know! How about you two have a battle? The only one for today to!"
Hugh adjusted his hat. "That sounds great! We haven't battled for some time! Let's do it!"
Rosa Vs. Hugh
"Okay Unfezant, go!" shouted Hugh, sending out his Flying Type.
"I choose Vibrava!" I replied. I didn't need to send it out; it just flew onto the battlefield.
"Okay Unfezant, use Air Slash!" Unfezant sliced the air and sent the shockwave towards Vibrava. It hit.
"You okay?" I asked Vibrava. "Give it a dose of your Dragon Breath!" Vibrava shot the purple energy at Unfezant for a direct hit.
"Unfezant!" Hugh shouted. "Give it another Air Slash!" But Unfezant couldn't; it was paralysed! "No! I forgot that Dragon Breath could potentially paralyse!"
"Another Dragon Breath!" I shouted as Vibrava shot more energy at Unfezant.
"Try another Air Slash!" Unfezant was able to get in another Air Slash. It hit Vibrava; Vibrava could only take one more hit.
"One final Dragon Breath!" Vibrava breathed at Unfezant once more and it was down.
"No!" Hugh shouted. "For your latest Pokémon, it sure is strong. Okay Simipour, go!" Hugh shouted. "Scald attack!" Simipour spat boiling water at Vibrava, dealing the final blow.
"Good job," I told Vibrava. "Okay Serperior, go!" Out came my starter. "Use Coil!" Serperior twisted around, raising its stats.
"Brick Break Simipour!" Simipour chopped Serperior on the head. It didn't do much because of the Defense boost. But Simipour was also going to get a dose of Serperior's Attack boost.
"Leaf Blade!" Serperior's tail started glowing green and it slashed Simipour. It was a Critical Hit and finished off Simipour.
"No!" shouted Hugh. "Okay. Go Eelektrik!" He sent out his latest Pokémon; an Electric Type.

It wraps itself around its prey and paralyzes it with electricity from the round spots on its sides. Then it chomps.

"Okay Eelektrik, Crunch!" Eelektric went over to Serperior and chomped down. Serperior's Defense was lowered.
"Leaf Blade!" I shouted as Serperior cut Eelektrik.
"Another Crunch!" Even after that, Serperior was doing just fine.
"One more Leaf Blade!" Serperior cut Eelektrik again, finishing it off.
"Okay. Now you get the honour of fighting my first Pokémon. Go Emboar!" Hugh shouted. There it was. Once a cute Tepig was now the behemoth that was Emboar.

A flaring beard of fire is proof that it is fired up. It is adept at using many different moves.
Tepig -Lv 17- Pignite -Lv 36- Emboar
"Amazing," I said. "Okay Serperior, Slam!" Serperior slammed its tail just shy of Emboar. It didn't work.
"Okay Emboar, Heat Crash!" Emboar covered itself in flames. It jumped up and slammed its body onto Serperior, taking it out.
"Such power," I said. Well, that and a Fire Type move being used against a Grass Type. "Azumarill, go!" I shouted.
"Emboar, Take Down!" Emboar charged into Azumarill, and Azumarill flew back.
"Can you keep going?" I asked Azumarill. Azumarill started prancing about on the spot. "Now's not the time for fun and games!"
"Maybe not the time for battling anymore," Bianca said, pointing up at the sky. It was black with clouds.
"But… it was sunny a moment ago. Wait…" Hugh said just as a few droplets started falling from the sky. Everyone started running back to their beach huts. "I think… that Azumarill has learned Rain Dance!"
"Really?!" I said. "Great job! Water Type moves are stronger in the rain!"
"Shame Azumarill won't be on the field long enough to find out! Emboar, Take Down!" Emboar charged towards Azumarill, but it dodged out of the way.
"Aqua Tail!" Azumarill whacked Emboar with its glowing-blue tail. It fainted on the spot.
"Such power," Hugh said.
After the battle, the rain clouds retreated as fast as they had came in and the sun broke loose. Everyone ran out and started playing. (Some kids were annoyed because their sandcastles were now a muddy mush).
"Wonderful!" Bianca said. "I knew giving you those Pokémon was a great idea!"
"Aw, thanks!" Hugh said. "Okay, I'm gonna heal up. Then we'll spend today lounging."
"Great idea!" I said, as Hugh walked off. As he did, I thought I saw something running across the sea. "Hey Bianca, what's that?"
"What's what?" she asked. It was gone. "It might be the Humilau City Gym Leader! He likes to swim a lot!"
I didn't think it was.
Today was a nice day of a battle and a break. Tomorrow will be a normal training day. Drayden was the final Gym Leader Hilbert faced on his journey, so I want to be prepared to go up against his Haxorus…
