Chapter 36:
Not by the Hair of my Cinccino
Location: Lacunosa Town
I didn't want to be in Curfewville anymore (if I want to stay indoors, I'll wait for a pandemic), so I made my next plan; I was to stop off at the Village Bridge. They have some houses there, so hopefully I could bunk at one. At the same time, I was concerned about Opelucid City. But knowing Hugh, he would take down Team Plasma before they even thought about doing anything.
Location: Route 12
Route 12 is basically just a big field, but that wasn't a bad thing. It gave me some time to think about Kyurem and what Team Plasma could be planning.
"I really hope they aren't bluffing. If this Kyurem is as terrifying as Team Plasma are saying it is, then I better be cautious." I stood up. "And I think there is one way to start is. Minccino, go!" I shouted. "I think… it's time." I got out the Shiny Stone and threw it to Minccino, who caught it. Minccino started to glow. When the glowing died, it was a Cinccino! "Nice!" I said.
"Hey!" I saw two Youngsters come up to me. "That a new Pokémon you got?"
"Yep!" I said. "Want to battle it?"
"Yeah!" they said. "But one condition. If we beat you, we get to take it for ourselves!"
"What?!" I said. "That's not how it works! You can't just place another one's Pokémon up for bets, especially if they don't want to. I'm sorry but this Cinccino is not up for grabs. It's mine, and if that's how you want to do things, then I won't battle you."
"Really?" one of them told me. "Go Heracross!" He sent out a blue Pokémon with a large horn.
Heracross (ヘラクロス)
145
Bug/Fighting Type
Single Horn Pokémon
4'11" (1.5 m)
119 lbs (54 kg)
No matter how heavy its opponents, it flings them far away with its prized horn.
Heracross has no known evolutions.
"Okay Heracross, Close Combat!" Heracross started punching and kicking Cinccino to the point of knocking it out.
"What do you think you're doing?!" I said.
"Taking it!" the other boy said. Heracross came over and took Cinccino in its arms. With the other boy taking its legs, they ran off.
"Come back you little brats!" I shouted, but they were too fast. "No… Cinccino…"
Location: Lacunosa Town
"You must be talking about Roy and Ray," Officer Jenny said. "They've been causing a bit of mischief recently. Their father forbids them to become Pokémon Trainers, so they've been taking Pokémon for themselves, including the Heracross that Roy has."
"Oh," I said. "But there is still no excuse. I've been friends with Minccino, now Cinccino, since my 3rd Badge! Our journey isn't going to end like this!"
"I understand," Officer Jenny said. "We don't know where they live; they're not from Lacunosa Town."
"But I will find them, even if I have to catch another Pokémon to do so- that's it!" I said. "I'll be back!"
Location: Route 13
"Come on, come on," I said, going through the tall grass. Sure enough, I found what I was looking for; a Pelipper! "Okay Serperior, go!" I shouted, sending out my partner. "Use Leaf Blade!" Serperior sliced Pelipper in the face. Pelipper came back with a Water Pulse which wasn't very effective. "Okay Ultra Ball, go!" I shouted. Pelipper went inside.
One.
Two.
Three…
I caught it!
Location: Lacunosa Town
I ran back to Officer Jenny, practically out of breath.
"I have a plan," I said.
Location: Route 14
I sat in the middle of the field with Azumarill. "Don't worry," I told it. "This is part of the plan."
The two bullies came over. "Hey, that Cincinno is pretty strong. Can we have your Azumarill to?"
"Nope," I said, smiling.
"Fine. Heracross, g-"
"Now Pelipper!" Pelipper swooped down and took Heracross' Pokéball.
"No fair!" Roy shouted. "That's mine!"
"It's not!" I said. "That Heracross is someone else's!"
"I just want to be a Pokémon Trainer!" Roy shouted.
"Not with that attitude," Officer Jenny said. She handcuffed both the boys. "You have some explaining to do. Now give this young lady her Cinccino back."
Roy handed the Pokéball over to me. "Just take it." He stuck his tongue out at me. What an ungrateful little twerp.
"Thanks, Pelipper," I said. It plopped out Heracross' ball onto my hand and I gave it to Officer Jenny. Pelipper then got sent to the PC. "Okay, time to hit the road!"
Location: Village Bridge
I was looking forward to seeing the Village Bridge and it's old-timey buildings.
Today was pretty scary as I might have lost me 2nd newest Pokémon. But anyway, I also caught Pelipper to act as a Fly user; it'll make backtracking a lot easier!
