Chapter 41:

Super Marine

Location: Undella Town

"Okay Cinccino," I shouted as Bianca watched. "Rock Blast!" Cinccino created five rocks in front of it, then fired each one of them.

"Amazing!" Bianca said. "Taking advantage of Skill Link is an amazing idea!"

"And that's not all!" I said. "Use Bullet Seed!" Cinccino started firing multiple seeds into the sky. They landed on a sandcastle on one of the kids who I ruined when I used Rain Dance days ago.

"Brilliant!" Bianca said. "You use Normal Types as amazing as Chereeee- Lenora! That's who I meant!"

I laughed. "Bianca, you already told me about Cheren. How's it going with him?"

Bianca looked down at the sand below her feet. "I don't think now is the right time. Our priority should be with taking down Team Plasma."

I completely understood that. There was too much on our minds to ask someone out. If we didn't do something, feared that there wouldn't even be a Unova region for any love to be confessed.

"Well," I said. "Let's ease our minds a bit. Want to walk through the Marine Tube together? Girls' day out!"

Bianca's face gleamed. "Great idea! We'll see many amazing Water Type Pokémon!"

Location: Marine Tube

"Wow!" I said. We were in the large-glass tube underwater with Pokémon swimming about. Specifically, a blue Pokémon with a cream underbelly and large-blue wings.

Mantine (マンタイン)

234

Water/Flying Type

Kite Pokémon

6'11" (2.1 m)

485 lbs (220 kg)

If it builds up enough speed swimming, it can fly over 300 feet out of the water from the surface of the ocean.

Mantyke (B) -Lv up with Remoraid in Party- Mantine

We saw that swimming with Mantine was a green Pokémon with scales.

Remoraid (テップオウ)

235

Water Type

Jet Pokémon

2'00" (0.6 m)

26.5 lbs (12 kg)

The water they shoot from their mouths can hit moving prey from more than 300 feet away.

"Wait," Bianca said. "What if… the glass breaks?!"

"Not gonna happen!" I said, tapping the side of the tube. "This glass is 9.8 inches thick. Even the mighty Kyogre won't break this baby. I'm 99% sure we'll be fine."

We continued walking through the Marine Tube, amazed that such a structure could exist. Pokémon obviously helped out; I can't even begin to imagine a world without them.

Eventually, we reached the end.

"That was amazing," I said. "What a fascinating way to experience marine-based Pokémon up close."

Before we walked out, a large shadow covered us. We looked up to see a massive-blue Pokémon with a grey underbelly.

"Wow!" I yelled. "It's a Wailord, the biggest of all currently discovered Pokémon!"

Wailord (ホエルオー)

241

Water Type

Float Whale Pokémon

47'07"! (14.5 m)!

877.4 lbs (398 kg)

It can sometimes knock out opponents with the shock created by breaching and crashing its big body onto the water.

Wailmer -Lv 40- Wailord

On the back, we saw a black man with long-blue swimming gear, at least on the legs. We saw him and Wailord swim up to the surface, which is where we headed.

Location: Humilau City

The sun beamed on the blue ocean, where many wooden houses were held up by support beams. We were on a grassy bank with a giant glass building along with the Pokémon Center.

"Here we are!" I yelled. "Humilau City!"

Bianca followed behind me. "I never went here on my journey! To think there are parts of Unova that I haven't experienced!"

I saw Hugh arrive on the scene. "Rosa!" he said, getting out his Badge case. It was now full, with a Badge that looked like a droplet. "It's the Wave Badge!"

"So shiny!" Bianca said. "Hey, we don't have much to do. No Team Plasma sightings at the moment, so why not take on the Gym tomorrow? It'll be great training. Today though, we need a break."

"You'll also need to find the Gym Leader," Hugh suggested. "After I beat him, he dove into the sea and had a swim about."

Just then, a short distance away, we saw something big come up from the ocean. It was Wailord and the presumed Trainer.

"We saw him!" I said. "In the Marine Tube!" I ran up to the man who got off his Wailord. "Hello. Are you the Gym Leader of Humilau City?"

"Indeed, I am!" he said, returning Wailord to its Pokéball. "Welcome to the sunniest settlement in the Unova region! Hey, I know you. You're the Riolu Kid!""

"Yeah, guess you could say that. But I just like to think of that as a one hit wonder. If it's alright with you, I'd like to challenge you tomorrow!"

"Sounds good!" he replied. "I'm Marlon. I was just doing the daily check-up of the Marine Tube, checking that everything's safe, which it was. Meet me tomorrow morning; I'd love to battle you!"

Brilliant!

Tomorrow, I battle for my final Gym Badge. It will allow me to take on the Pokémon League, but also to show Team Plasma what I'm really made of!
