Chapter 51:
Rosa Vs. Iris
Location: Unova Pokémon League
"You know what?" Iris said. "I've been really looking forward to having battles with strong Trainers!"
"Well," I said. "You're in for a treat!" I had my Pokéball in my hand. I knew Alder wasn't Champion, but I should have known it was Iris. She deserves it to. She's kind, selfless but was she strong?
"Brace yourself!" Iris yelled. "I will defeat you!"
Rosa Vs. Champion Iris
"Okay Hydreigon, go!" Iris shouted. It was telling that this was a strong Champion when her first Pokémon was a Pseudo-Legendary.
"Cinccino, go!" I shouted. What did I have to lose? "Use Tail Slap!" Cinccino slapped Hydreigon across the face five times.
"Dragon Pulse!" Hydreigon fired a ball of energy at Cinccino who was blasted back.
"Another Tail Slap!" Cinccino used the move again, but Hydreigon was a hardy Pokémon that was hard to take down.
"Now use Flamethrower!" Hydreigon shot fire at Cinccino, finishing it off.
"Oh no!" I shouted. Iris' strength was unbelievable, and this was only from Pokémon number one. "Next up is Serperior!" I shouted. "Use Dragon Tail!" Serperior hit Hydreigon with its tail. It was a Critical Hit, and Hydreigon was down.
"I'm impressed, but I'm not done yet. Archeops, you're next!"

It runs better than it flies. It takes off into the sky by running at 25 mph (40.2 kph).

Revived from a Plume Fossil.
"Use Acrobatics!" Archeops tossed and turned everywhere, then punched Serperior in the face for lots of damage.
"Leaf Storm!" I shouted. Serperior fired multiple leaves at Archeops, doing more than half to it. That's just what I wanted. "Okay Serperior, return. Go Azumarill!" I sent out my Water Type.
"Acrobatics!" Archeops tossed and turned once again, kicking Azumarill in the face. This revealed it to be Zoroark. Acrobatics didn't do that much this time around, because of Defeatist. When Archeops gets weak, it's attacks take a battering to.
"Night Slash!" Zoroark ran over to Archeops and swiped it in the face, knocking it out.
"No!" Iris shouted. "Hey, this is fun! Go Aggron!" Iris sent out a large-grey behemoth with a long tail and terrifying jaws.

It claims an entire mountain as its own. The more wounds it has, the more it has battled, so don't take it lightly.

"If the Pokédex is warning me about it, then that drives my ambition even more, right Zoroark?!" I saw Zoroark covering itself in dark energy. "Hey… I think that might be a new move!" I flipped open the Pokédex. "This'll be fun! Night Daze Zoroark!" Zoroark slammed its claws on the ground and sent out a burst of dark energy that enveloped everyone. It hit Aggron, but it wasn't very effective.
"Use Head Smash!" Aggron charged headfirst into Zoroark, knocking it out. Aggron didn't take recoil damage; it must have been its Rock Head Ability.
"Great job on the new move Zoroark. Okay Flygon, I choose you!" Out came a Pokémon I knew would be able to do well. "Earth Power!" Flygon made a crack in the ground that hit Aggron, almost taking it out.
"Now use Double Edge!" Aggron charged forward into Flygon. It did a lot to it, but once again, Aggron took no recoil.
"One last Earth Power!" Flygon used one more attacked, and Aggron was down.
"I'm impressed! Okay Lapras, go!" Iris sent out a blue Pokémon with a grey shell on its back.

Able to understand human speech and very intelligent, it loves to swim in the sea with people on its back.
Lapras has no known evolution.
"I know you won't do well against an Ice Type Flygon, so let's go out with a bang! Or should I saw, a Hyper Beam!" Flygon shot a powerful beam at Lapras. Lapras had high HP however, so the impact wasn't as big as I thought it would be.
"Use Ice Beam!" Lapras fired a cold beam of ice at Flygon, knocking it out as I expected it would.
"This is hard," I thought. "Exactly what I expect from the Champion! Azumarill, go!" I sent out my Water Type against Iris' Water Type.
"Use Sing!" Lapras started singing a lullaby, and it made Azumarill fall asleep.
"Oh no!" I yelled.
"Now Thunderbolt!" Lapras fired a bolt of lightning at Azumarill, almost doing half. Azumarill couldn't do anything; it was busy napping. "And again!" Another Thunderbolt hit Azumarill. I was really getting concerned. But thankfully, Azumarill woke up!
"Great! Now Superpower!" Azumarill went up to Lapras and punched it hard. It was a knockout.
"Woo! This is a hard match. Okay Druddigon, go!" Iris sent out the scaly Dragon Type.
Druddigon (クリムガン)

It runs through the narrow tunnels formed by Excadrill and Onix. It uses its sharp claws to catch prey.
Druddigon has no known evolutions.
"Okay Azumarill, Superpower!" Azumarill attacked Druddigon with all its might, though since its Attack was lowered last time, it didn't do a lot.
"Rock Slide!" Druddigon made rocks fall from above, and that was the final move to be used on Azumarill.
We were now on equal footing. But I was starting to get really concerned. "Arcanine, go!" I shouted. "Outrage!" Arcanine got angry, and it savagely attacked Druddigon. This dealt the final blow.
"Alright!" Iris said. "Down to my final Pokémon! Can you take on… HAXORUS?!" There it stood. Haxorus. Bright green and with axe-like jaws.
"Give it another Outrage!" Arcanine darted forward, and attacked Haxorus. It did a lot of damage, which was exactly what I needed.
"Use Earthquake!" Haxorus made the ground shake, and it was a very strong attack. Arcanine didn't stand a chance; it was down.
"No!" I shouted. Iris. A sweet girl with terrifying power. But that's what being a Champion is all about to her!
"Last chance saloon!" I yelled. "My first Pokémon, Serperior!" Out came the Pokémon that had helped me kick start this journey. And, just like how Hilbert used his first Pokémon to finish his big fight, I would allow history to repeat itself. "DRAGON TAIL!" Serperior charged up its tail and sprung forward.
"X-Scissor!" Haxorus came running in and the two green Pokémon clashed. It was the make it or break it move. It was the tensest few seconds ever.
But. Serperior slowly but surely managed to edge over Haxorus. It swiped up, getting rid of the X-Scissor. "Do it!" Serperior slammed Haxorus with its tail. The final blow was delivered. And I had won!
Iris laughed. "I'm upset I couldn't win! All I could ask for was a great match, and I got it! I'm happy!"
"Hey," I told Iris. "Thanks for being a good friend on my journey." I took out my hand, and we shook it. "I'm Champion now." I wiped a tear from my eye. "I can't believe it."
"What are we waiting for?!" Iris said. "We need to induct you into the Hall of Fame!"
Iris took me to a room with a Pokémon Center healing machine. There were also many records on the walls of previous Champions. The three most recent ones were Alder, Hilbert and Iris. And now I was going to be added to the entourage.
"Welcome to the Hall of Fame!" Iris said. "This is where Trainers who have successfully become Champion get inducted for all eternity. And when you put your Pokémon here, you will also have that honour!"
"Iris," I said. "Thank you."
"Thank you!" she replied. "You more than deserve this. It takes more to get into the Hall of Fame than becoming Champion. You must be brave, caring and deserving. And I think someone who not only beat me, but also save the Unova region, is more than deserving of it!"
I put all my Pokémon on the healing pod.

Above me, fireworks went off as I started ascending the staircase I had walked up. Iris was with me, and the Elite Four joined me as I walked down.
"Thank you," I said.
"You go get em!" Iris replied.
