Triple Trouble Restaurant Battle

When it's opponent can't be paralyzed, it contorts itself with unexpected speed and flops away.

Stunfisk has no known evolutions.

"Soooo…" I asked a citizen. "What's with the Stunfisk outbreak?"

"Every Friday they appear," she replied. "We don't know why, but we welcome them with open arms. Well, maybe not because we might get zapped."

The Stunfisk just flopped about in the park, with some making a slight jump back into the water.

"Well," I said. "I should head to the Striaton Gym. I hope the Gym Leaders will actually give me a battle."

Location: Striaton City Gym

"HELLO!" I shouted. Everyone put down their food and looked at me awkwardly. "Erm, I'm here for a Gym battle? Where is Clyde?"

"Ah," said a Waitress. "I'm afraid that Striaton City isn't a Gym anymore."

For crying out loud. This was ridiculous. I get Lenora to an extent, but these guys to? Were Gym Leaders just quitting for funsies?

"But," said a Waiter. "They haven't retired from battling! It's still an attraction at this restaurant, and I guarantee that it would be an honour for the owners of this place to battle Unova's Champion."

I walked through the restaurant and, and at the end stood the Gym Leaders. Cilan with his green hair, Cress with his blue and Chili with his red.

"Welcome to the Striaton Restaurant," Cilan said.

"It is an honour," Cress said.

"Yeah, our food is delectable!" Chili shouted.

"I'm sure it is. Listen, I challenge you guys to a battle!"

Each of the brothers looked at each other. "Interesting," Cilan said. "Well, I should say that we do things a bit differently here. We do Multi Battles, which is a Double Battle with two people on both sides."

"And since you chose Snivy," Chili said. "You get to partner up with me!"

"A Multi Battle sounds good!" I shouted as Chili came over to me. At this point everyone eating had their attention on us.

"I hope you give us a charming demonstration," Cress told me.

"A freshly seasoned one to!" Cilan replied.

"Okay Serperior, go!" I shouted.

"You're up Heatmor!" Chili shouted.

"Maractus, go!" Cilan yelled, sending out his spiky friend.

"And I'm using Basculin," said Cress. He was using the Red Striped form.

"Okay Serperior, Leaf Blade!" Serperior swiped at Basculin. It barely survived.

"Basculin, Ice Beam!" Basculin fired a white beam at Serperior. Super Effective hit.

"Maractus, use Poison Jab!" Maractus' hand went purple, and it jabbed Serperior. Serperior was barely hanging on.

"Now Heatmor, Fire Blast!" Heatmor shot a pillar of fire at Maractus. It was a sizzling OHKO to it. "Yeah! Turn it up even more and we'll win this!"

"Next is Ferrothorn!" said Cilan. This would entail new strategies to say the least.

"Leaf Blade again!" Serperior hit Basculin, finally knocking it out.

"Let's get it another Fire Blast!" Heatmor came forward with another hot attack, but it missed!

"Nice try! Ferrothorn, Gyro Ball!" Ferrothorn span really fast, then rammed into Heatmor. Whilst not very effective, it did a lot because Ferrothorn was slow.

"Well," said Cress. "I believe I should have a slow and steady wins the race mindset to. Go Slowking!" Cress sent out a pink Pokémon with a grey crown on its head.

Being bitten by a Shellder gave it intelligence comparable to that of award-winning scientists.

Slowpoke -Trade with Kings Rock- Slowking

"Leaf Storm Serperior!" Serperior fired a barrage of leaves at Slowking, but it missed!

"I've got you! Use Fire Blast!" However, Fire Blast missed to! Sheesh, sometimes I could see where Grimsley was coming from in terms of luck.

"Now Slowking, Flamethrower!" Slowking shot fire at Serperior, knocking it out.

"And Ferrothorn!" Ferrothorn span again into Heatmor. It was down.

"Focus on Slowking," Chili said as he sent out his Darmanitan.

"You gotcha. Arcanine, go!" Out came my Fire Type.

"WHAT?!" Chili shouted. "But I'm the Fire Type master here! And by the way, good luck taking down Slowking now!"

"Trust me," I said. "Use Night Daze!" Arcanine created a burst of energy that hit both Ferrothorn and Slowking. Slowking took a lot of damage from the move.

"Hey, nice one, whatever that was. Okay Darmanitan, Flare Blitz!" Darmanitan set itself ablaze and charged into Ferrothorn, dealing with it.

"Don't forget about me. Slowking, Surf!" Slowking created a huge wave that swamped both Pokémon, stripping Zoroark of its Disguise. "Well, a Zoroark. Not many people use that strategy."

The crowd roared with excitement.

"Time for my final Pokémon, Simisage!" Cilan sent out Simipour's Grass Type counterpart.

Simisage (ヤナッキー)

It strikes enemies with strikes of its thorn-covered tail. The leaf on its head is bitter.

Pansage -Leaf Stone- Simisage

"Zoroark, Night Slash!" Zoroark ran forward and slashed at Slowking. It was finished.

"Okay Darmanitan, Flare Blitz again!" Darmanitan charged forward and hit Simisage, but it somehow survived!

"Rock Slide!" Simisage made rocks fall from above us. They hit both Pokemon, but Darmanitan in particular had a Critical hit dealt. Add that to the recoil it took from Flare Blitz, and it was done.

"No!" Chili shouted. "Okay, time for my partner. Go Simisear!" Chili sent out the pretty fat Fire Type.

When it gets excited, embers rise from its head and tail and it gets hot. For some reason, it loves sweets.

Pansear -Fire Stone- Simisear

"Go Simipour," said Cress.

"Okay Zoroark, Flamethrower!" Zoroark shot a flame at Simisage, doing lots of damage to it.

"Rock Slide!" Another rockfall hit us, finishing off Zoroark. Simisear kept going, however.

"Use Flamethrower!" Simisear shot fire at Simisage, and finished the job.

"Simipour, Scald!" Simipour shot boiling water at Simisear.

"Need a bit of help Rosa!" Chili said.

"I'm there. Go Flygon!" Not the best decision, but I was going to make it work.

"You've walked into my trap. Ice Beam." Simipour fired a white beam at Flygon. It did a lot, but Flygon survived!

"Now Simisear, Crunch!" Simisear jumped over to Simipour and chomped down. "Now's our chance Rosa!"

"Alright alright, Hyper Beam!" Flygon fired a powerful beam at Simipour. It was finished.

"Yes, that was a sweet battle," said Cilan.

"No bitterness here," Cress responded.

"Yeah!" Chili said as we hi-fived. "They don't call you Champ for nothing!"

"Hey you helped!" I said.

Everyone cheered once again.

"Well, I think we've satisfied everyone," Cilan said.

"If I may ask," I said. "Why did you retire from Gym Leader duties?"

Cilan sighed. "We couldn't help Hilbert in time when dealing with Team Plasma. Whilst he did win, we were overcome with guilt. So shortly afterwards, we became full time chefs, and part time battlers!"

"But, for your troubles and as a thank you for your work in saving Unova," Cress said, coming out with a dish. "Take it."

On it was a Trio Badge!

"Thanks!" I said. "I have nine Badges!"

Today, I did get a battle! And I'm also closer to Nuvema Town! Shortly afterwards, I did make it to Accumula Town. But tomorrow, I might check out the P2 Laboratory.

And soon, a new adventure is starting…
