Chapter 58:
New Face in Nuvema
Location: Nuvema Town
A bright sunny day in Nuvema Town. The sun beamed through my window, waking me up in the process.
"So," Bianca said. "What's the plan?"
"I know what," I said.
I walked out of Bianca's house and went to the place I had had my eye on the whole time since I arrived, Hilbert's residence. Identifiable by the picture of him on the front door saying, "Have you seen my son?" on the bottom.
The door was ajar, so I nudged it open. His mum was sitting in the dining room with a cup of tea.
"Honey? Are you home?" she replied faintly.
She looked at me. I had to respond to something. "No, I'm not him. My name is Rosa, the Champion of the Unova-"
"Wait… I do know you! You're the one looking for my son!"
"How do you-"
Bianca appeared from behind me, a bit sad. "Look, I know you told me to keep it a secret. But I couldn't not tell her about it. Her optimism has drained by the month…"
"It's fine," I said. "But, I do think I should show you." I took out Hilbert's Journal and handed it to her. "I found this. I will return this to him soon."
Mum looked through the Journal. "Yes, I remember all this. This is what happened on the first day as a Trainer. Then, one day, he just…" Mum turned to the final page to look at the message. "You're saying…"
I nodded. "Once we've had our battle, well maybe not immediately after, I'll tell Hilbert to come home! And with Team Plasma no more, he has no reason to stay in hiding!"
Hilbert's Mum shed a tear. "Thank you!" She hugged me.
"Awww, you'll see him soon," Bianca said. "So, where next?"
Location: Juniper Pokémon Lab
"Professor!" Bianca yelled. "Professor, someone is here to see you!"
The brown-haired Professor looked round. Her face went from curious to beaming. "Bianca, and Rosa! I've heard all about you! Well, you are the Champion of the Unova region after all."
"Professor, it's so nice to meet you. I can't believe I'm here, the place where you gave Hilbert, Bianca and Mr. Cheren their Pokédex's!"
"Calm down!" she said. "How is your hunt for Hilbert going?"
I took out my Journal. "Almost complete, but I won't say why!"
Professor Juniper chuckled a bit. "And Bianca, I heard you're taking Cheren on a date to the PWT?"
Bianca went red in the face. "Okay who told you?"
"Cheren did, don't worry! I wish you both the best of luck, and that goes for you to Rosa. In three days, you'll be on the field fighting Gym Leaders from around the world!"
"And speaking of battles," Bianca said.
I knew what was about to go down. "Meet you on Route 1…"
Location: Route 1
"Well," I said. "You ready for this?"
"You bet!" she yelled. "And I got out my big team for this!"
Rosa Vs. Bianca
"First up, Azumarill!" I shouted.
"Go Stoutland!" Bianca replied. "Start with Wild Charge!" Stoutland covered itself in electricity, then charged into Azumarill. It did a lot of damage, but Stoutland also took recoil damage.
"Azumarill, Superpower!" Azumarill got buff, then punched Stoutland. It was down, though Azumarill's stats were lowered.
"Nice shot! Okay Jellicent, go!"
I decided that Azumarill didn't need to take that one on. "Okay Serperior, I choose you!" I shouted. "Start with Coil!" Serperior coiled round, raising its stats.
"Jellicent, Ice Beam!" Jellicent fired a frigid beam at Serperior, taking away half its health.
"Leaf Storm!" Serperior fired a barrage of leaves at Jellicent. It was down instantly.
"Oh dear. Next up, Mienshao!" Bianca shouted, sending out the purple Fighting Type.
"I choose Arcanine!" I shouted. "Use Flare Blitz!" Arcanine charged forward covered in fire, but it missed. Just my luck.
"Mienshao, Stone Edge!" Mienshao fired some sharp stones at Arcanine. It was a Critical Hit, and Arcanine was down in one.
"Okay, this just got interesting. Flygon, go!" Yep, it was Dragon Type time. "Earth Power!" Flygon made a crack in the earth that hit Mienshao. This lowered its Sp. Defense.
"High Jump Kick!" Mienshao lunged forward and kicked Flygon in the neck. It was a powerful attack.
"Another Earth Power!" Flygon used it again, knocking out Mienshao.
"Good strategy. Next up, Simisage!" Next up was a Grass Type. "Use Seed Bomb!" Simisage fired some seeds at Flygon. It was a Critical Hit that took it down.
"Oh dear. Okay Zoroark, go!" I shouted. "Use Flamethrower!" Zoroark shot fire at Simisage. A clean hit.
"Use Brick Break!" Simisage lunged at Zoroark and chopped it on the head for Super Effective damage.
"Flamethrower!" Zoroark used another Flamethrower, knocking out Simisage.
"Okay Emboar, you're next!" Bianca shouted. It was her first Pokémon. Her partner.
"Don't worry, Azumarill has got this!" I sent out my Water Type. But… it didn't go smoothly. Well, it started off that way. "Aqua Tail!" Azumarill hit Emboar in the face with its wet tail.
"Wild Charge!" Emboar covered itself in electricity and rammed into Azumarill, finishing it off.
"Cinccino, go!" I shouted. "Rock Blast!" Cinccino fired five rocks at Emboar. They all hit it and knocked it out.
"Final Pokémon. Go Musharna!" Bianca sent out her Psychic Type.
"Use Tail Slap!" Cinccino slapped Musharna in the forehead five times. But Musharna had high HP.
"Psychic attack!" Musharna blasted Cinccino with Psychic energy, doing half damage to it.
"Tail Slap once more!" Cinccino used another Tail Slap, to the same mediocre result.
"One more Psychic!" That blasted the rest of Cinccino's health away.
"Finally, Zoroark!" Out it came. "Use Night Daze!" Zoroark slammed its claws down, taking away the rest of Musharna's HP.
"Brings me back to the great times!"
Bianca looked down Route 1 towards Accumula Town. "It was here two years ago that me and Tepig caught Lillipup. We thought we would be unstoppable, and in many aspects, we were."
"So, next plan," I said. "To Driftveil City!"
Yes, it's time to prepare for the PWT now that my little side quest is over. What challenges will I face?
