Chapter 59:

The Approaching Storm

Location: Nimbasa City

I sat on the bench, getting a good breather in before the battle insanity that was due to happen over the next couple of days. I had spent the day in Pokéland; I think I deserved it.

Just then, a familiar face came over to me. "Well, I'll be!"

"Mr. Cheren!" I replied. "What are you doing here?"

"Thought I'd get here before Bianca," he said. "After all, this is my first date to. Want to make a good impression."

I squealed in excitement. I'm no love connoisseur, but I knew that the two of them had a great chemistry. "You'll be great together!" I said.

"I also came over to ask you something," Mr. Cheren told me. "I… would like to have an unofficial rematch on Route 5."

"Really?" I asked. "That would be amazing!"

"And," he said. "I'll be using the team I used on my journey!"

It just got more and more exciting. "Well, let's go then!"

As we started walking, we saw a news report on the billboards.

"As we can see, the massive storm is making its way over to the Unova region."

"That's interesting," I said. "It's so sunny."

"We advise you to stay indoors if it reaches your residence. Okay Ty, you can stop rolling now."

Location: Route 5

"Well," Mr. Cheren said. "This brings back memories. I had a battle with Hilbert here. To think I'm using this team again."

"Well, give it your all!" I shouted.

Rosa Vs. Mr. Cheren

"Okay. First up I choose Liepard!" shouted Mr. Cheren.

"And I choose Flygon!" I replied.

"Fake Out!" Before Flygon could get in a move, Liepard clapped in front of Flygon. A flinch was forced. "Now Night Slash!" Liepard that slashed at Flygon across the neck.

Flygon's claws went blue, then it slashed at Liepard. "That's Dragon Claw! Great new move Flygon!"

"Another Night Slash!" Liepard struck again, this time landing a Critical Hit. Flygon was almost done for.

"Hyper Beam!" Flygon shot a powerful beam at Liepard. But it didn't quite go down.

"Now use Aerial Ace!" Liepard dove into Flygon, delivering the final blow.

"Nice strategy. Okay Cinccino, go!" I yelled. I needed to be quick to defeat it. "Use Tail Slap!" Cinccino slapped Liepard across the face a few times, finishing it off.

"Okay then. Go Gigalith!" Mr. Cheren sent out the hulk rock giant with red crystals.

"Bullet Seed!" Cinccino fired five turrets of seeds at Gigalith. They were each Super Effective, but Gigalith's Defense was nothing to sneeze at.

"Stone Edge!" Gigalith fired some sharp stones at Cinccino. Cinccino dealt with it.

"Come back Cinccino. Okay Serperior, go!" Out came Serperior who dealt with another Stone Edge. "Now use Leaf Storm!" Serperior fired a barrage of leaves at Gigalith, finishing it off.

"Impress Rosa, very impressed. Okay Unfezant, I choose you!"

With a Flying Type on the other end, I brought Cinccino back in. "Use Rock Blast!" Cinccino fired five rocks at Unfezant, doing quite a bit each time.

"Air Slash!" Unfezant swiped the air and damaged Cinccino. "Now Quick Attack!" Unfezant darted forward and hit Cinccino again, finishing it.

"Good job. Okay Arcanine, go!" Hopefully Arcanine would out speed Unfezant. And it did! "Flare Blitz!" Arcanine set itself ablaze and charged into Unfezant. It knocked it out.

"Well, you certainly deserve to be Champion! Okay Haxorus, go!" Mr. Cheren sent out the large Green Pokemon.

"Outrage!" Arcanine got angry, then brutally attacked Haxorus.

"Rock Slide!" Haxorus made multiple rocks tumble from above onto Arcanine. It did a lot of damage, but one more Outrage from Arcanine finished Haxorus.

"We're doing well!"

"Don't celebrate yet! Go Simipour!" Mr. Cheren sent out the Water Type; didn't want Arcanine facing that.

"Serperior, go!" I yelled.

"Okay Simipour, Acrobatics!" Simipour tossed and turned over to Serperior, kicking it in the face. It was a Super Effective hit.

"Coil!" I told Serperior, who coiled up. With a raised attack, I demanded a Leaf Blade. Serperior did it, and Simipour was down in one.

"Okay, time for my final Pokemon. Go Serperior!" Mr. Cheren sent out his ace. I just had to go partner Vs. Partner.

"Dragon Tail!" I shouted as my Serperior hit Mr. Cheren's Serperior with its glowing-blue tail.

"You use Dragon Tail!" Mr. Cheren's Serperior hit my Serperior with the same attack, forcing a switch to Azumarill. "Seems you are at a disadvantage!"

"Am I?" I asked. "Flamethrower!" Azumarill shot fire at Serperior, burning it in the process.

"What's going on? Well anyway, use Frenzy Plant!" Serperior bashed the ground, causing large roots to appear. They attacked Azumarill but didn't quite knock it out. It was Zoroark in disguise.

"Now let's get in two Flamethrowers whilst Serperior is recharging!" Zoroark finished Serperior just like that.

"Fantastic!" said Mr. Cheren.

We shook hands. "You really know your stuff," Mr. Cheren told me. "Battle like that and the PWT should be cake walk."

"Thanks!" I said, blushing.

Just then, my Xtransciever went off. It was showing Colress' number.

"We better go somewhere private," I told Mr. Cheren. "Let's go to the Hidden Grotto."

Location: Hidden Grotto

"What's up?" I asked Colress.

"The storm, that's what," he replied. "We believe that it may have the Legendary Pokemon."

"Really?" I asked. "Which ones?"

"Tornadrus, Thundurus and Landorus. At least, we think it's them. The radars show vastly different shapes. We believe they could have a new form. That's why I gave you the Reveal Glass. We believe it could change them back."

"Okay," I said. "When do we start?"

"I'll call you after you're first match in two days. We might have a good idea then."

I nodded, and he signed off.

Well, it seems I have a busy couple of days. The PWT and some Legendary Pokemon!
