No apologies for brevity, this one was tricky. There's little to write as they simply are perfect in an understated way in this episode, it's less about them and more about Dempsey and Lymon but there's a big difference between Harry and Dempsey in how they approach Lymon. Thank you for your words.
"You were like him once." She comments, turning in his arms. He's recalled her past words about Lymon in the space between her shoulders and neck. His hot breath tickles her with anticipation but the words are like cold water on her desire.
She looks at his face, set on having this conversation. "You would never have thought of him as a solution."
He's been cocky all day and she knows it's partly a mask these days. One she started to peel away when she'd found him that night and dared to challenge him. Seeing his empathy with the criminals they sought to lock up forever but underestimating the moral codes that made him a good officer. He'd be a terrifying criminal, a master escapologist and legend in the MET had he taken that route; one she would follow and not because of the paper that sits in the dressing table drawer in a velvet box.
He shrugs at her words, aiming for carelessness and distracted by her body. His mouth finds her neck, hot lips distracting her and regaining the heat that his words had doused.
"Dempsey…." She wriggles and makes him look at her. "I was right the first time around. You have changed since then."
"I know." He says simply. "You wouldn't be here if I hadn't."
This, she thinks, isn't as true as he likes to think. She puts all thoughts of criminals from her mind as he descends to claim what was his long before he knew it.
