Ch. 2: Tantei jimusho ni tōchaku
At Class 1-B's dorm, Kendo is inside her room, preparing for bed as she stares at the mirror as she removed her ponytail and let her hair hang down. As she glanced at the mirror she suddenly recalled her encounter with Izuku earlier at UA Academy's library and wondered what just happened, as she realized that she momentarily stared at him, where she felt a slight attraction towards the boy.
Kendo wondered what this means as before she was friendly to him and Class 1-A and would reprimand Monona whenever he tries to provoke Izuku and his classmates, but after recently she wondered if Izuku would attempt to befriend her beyond friendship. This made her wonder if this is a possibility and what if she meets him again if they are alone and in certain circumstances.
"Hmm…I wonder…what if Midoriya would…"
By then, her classmate, Setsuna Tokage came in and greeted her, which Kendo smiled and greeted her back, and there Setsuna said that Hero Work-Studies is just around the corner and asked if she has found an agency that is willing to take her in, and Kendo said that she hasn't found one yet.
"Kendo-san."
"Oh, Tokage-san."
"Have you found someone for internship?"
"No…not yet."
"Really?"
"Yeah…haven't found one that would suit my needs."
"I'm sure you'll find one soon."
"Yeah."
By then Setsuna changed the subject and asked her if she found a boy that interests her, which Kendo said she hasn't found one yet either, but Setsuna innocently pointed out that earlier at UA Academy's library she was staring at Izuku for about several seconds, and hearing this caused Kendo to blush slightly and this made Setsuna wondered if her classmate developed a crush on him.
Kendo sighed that it just happened and said there's nothing going on between her and Izuku and reiterated that while she sees him as a rival, she treats him like a schoolmate, though she noted that Izuku can be cute-looking.
Suddenly Monona showed up and is rather shocked at hearing what Kendo just said, asking her if she has gone INSANE, saying she developed a romantic interest at their DETESTABLE RIVAL and threat, and urged her to avoid Izuku lest he uses means to SEDUCE her and take her VIRGINITY.
Kendo blushed deeply at hearing what Monoma just said, and uses her Quirk to beat up Monona for making such a silly accusation.
"MONOMA, YOU IDIOT!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT?!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"MIDORIYA WON'T GO THAT FAR!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"SO STOP SPOUTING SUCH NONSENSE!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
Setsuna sweat-dropped as seeing this and attempted to pacify the two, with little success, and Pony Tsunitori passed by and asked what is going on, seeing that Kendo and Monona are PLAYING, though Setsuna said they aren't.
"Wow! Are they playing?"
"No, Tsunitori…they're not…"
"But they look like they're playing…like WWE…"
"Er…"
"Shall we join them? It looks like fun…"
"No, Tsunitori…don't…"
"Why not?"
"…"
By then, Hiryu Rin came and asked what is going on, and after being told, he sighed as he urged Tsunitori and Setsuna to help him pry Kendo and Monoma apart before a teacher sees them and penalize them for the ruckus they are making.
"Setsuna…Tsunitori…come on."
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
"We need to pry them apart…before Vlad King shows up and cause him to ground the whole class…"
"Okay."
"Shouldn't we join them in playing?"
"No."
"They're not playing."
"Really?"
The trio then went and pry Kendo and Monoma apart and told them to knock it off, saying that their antics would get them into trouble and risk getting detention, which would result in missing a few days of classes and activities. Kendo sighed and said that she is just disciplining Monoma for his silly antics and reiterated that nothing bad happened here.
However, Monoma said that Kendo is doing bad by socializing with a Class 1-A student like Midoriya, and warned her that Midoriya is trying to seduce her, which caused Kendo to blush deeply and loses her cool again, resulting in her activating her Quirk and resume in beating up Monoma, and he screamed in fear, urging his classmates to save him but Kendo berated him and said she is teaching him a lesson he will never forget.
"MONOMA, YOU IDIOT!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT MIDORIYA WOULD GO THAT FAR?!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"MIDORIYA WON'T DO SOMETHING LIKE SEDUCING ME!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"SO STOP SPOUTING SUCH NONSENSE!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
By then Nirengeki Shoda came and sighed in dismay seeing the ruckus that Kendo and Monoma have made, and told Hiryu to do something or else the loud ruckus would attract the attention of Vlad King, and the result would be that the teacher would head here and intervene in order to restore order inside the dormitory. Hiryu sighed and said he will get his two classmates to stop their antics and he told Tsunitori and Setsuna to help him separate their two classmates.
Tsunitori and Setsuna nodded and they pulled Kendo away from Monoma and Hiryu dragged a beat-up Monoma and are heading back to their dorm rooms, telling him to knock it off already and told him to stop picking on Class 1-A already, but Monoma, still disoriented, reiterated that Class 1-A have CORRUPTED Kendo, and Hiryu sighed and told him to knock it off already.
He wondered if Monoma should seek professional help as he kept on muttering the same nonsense.
"You should knock it off already."
"But…but…"
"Class 1-A isn't THAT BAD…"
"But they are! Midoriya is trying to seduce Kendo…"
"So what if those two get close? I don't see anything wrong with that…"
"It is wrong! We Class 1-B and 1-A are sworn…"
"We are not. And stop picking on Midoriya."
"But…but…"
The scene shows that Tsunitori and Setsuna pacifying a blushing Kendo as she is still pissed at what Monoma is insinuating, and there Shoda asked what just happened here, and there he is told about what happened, and Shoda wondered, saying that so far Midoriya appeared to be a nice boy, and he doesn't see any problem if Midoriya wants to woo Kendo.
Tsunitori squealed as she likes romantic situations and tells Kendo that it would be nice and exciting if Midoriya would approach her and ask her out on a date. Kendo twitched her eye while blushing, and uses her Quirk and strangles Shoda, telling him to stop spouting nonsense, and this resulted in another situation, which Setsuna sighed in dismay, as Kendo berates Shoda.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT?!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"MIDORIYA IS JUST A SCHOOLMATE!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"SO STOP SPOUTING SUCH NONSENSE!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
Setsuna sighed and tells Tsunitori to help her calm down Kendo, telling her that it's getting late and they don't want another problem, and the two girls pry their two classmates apart and urged Kendo to calm down and get some rest, which Kendo sighed as she left, and there the two girls help up Shoda, who appeared to be traumatized by what just happened a moment ago.

A few days later, the scene shifts at UA Academy, where students are scrambling to look for hero agencies to undergo apprenticeship, and the scene shifts inside the teacher's quarters, where Mirio Togata is talking to All Might, Vlad King and Nezu, in which Togata said that he is planning to invite Izuku to have Hero Work-Studies at Sir Night Eye's agency, saying that Izuku is perfect to have internship with.
All Might said he has no problem and is actually in favor, though Vlad King asked why is he here since the discussion seemed to be about Izuku's internship, and felt that he has nothing to do with this. Nezu looks on as Togata began to speak to Vlad King, and told him that he plans to bring Kendo along, saying that she could be an asset as well as it would also benefit from the Hero Work-Study.
Vlad King blinked his eyes and wondered what Togata has in mind, and there Togata told the two teachers and the principal his reason. The police commissioner of Yokohama secretly met with sir Night Eye and said that he believed that there is massive corruption at the Yokohama police force as someone within the higher-ups is coddling and protecting a drug cartel, which enabled them to continue their drug trade, and the police commissioner said he couldn't make a thorough investigation when the commissioner general told him to focus on other things.
Nezu figured that the police commissioner needed some outside help in order to help investigate and infiltrate the drug cartel and find out who among the police force is covering up the corrupt cops, and asked Togata if he is sure about bringing Izuku and Kendo in this planned mission, and while Vlad King appeared skeptical, Nezu said that it could be okay given that both Izuku and Kendo now have their provisional hero license.
"Hmm…I suppose it's okay."
"Are you sure, Nezu?"
"Yes, Vlad."
"But…"
"I think having Kendo tagging along would be fine. That I believe."
"Well…if that's so, then I guess…"
"Then it's settled. All Might…what do you say?"
"Hmm…"
All Might thought about it as well, and decided that this is okay, and tells Togata that he agreed to it, and he asked Vlad King if he is okay in letting Kendo have internship under Sir Night Eye, and after a few seconds, Vlad King gave his approval.
"Well, Vlad King…?"
"…"
"…"
"…"
"Fine. You can go ahead."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Thanks."
Seeing that everyone is in agreement, Nezu tells All Might to bring in Izuku and Kendo, and after that, the two teens arrived and are inside the principal's office, where Eraser Head arrived and is soon told about the situation, and he said that he has no problems about it, and there All Might introduced Togata to Izuku and Kendo, and there the two teens are told about Togata's plan to have them undergo internship with Sir Night Eye.
Izuku heard about Sir Night Eye and there All Might told him that he would recommend it, and when Kendo asked why is she being recommended, Togata said that she would be a good asset in this Work-Study, and while doubtful, Kendo decided to agree on this, and after that, Togata leaves UA Academy with Izuku and Kendo.
At the streets, Togata finally told Kendo the reason why she is being invited to undergo internship with Night Eye's agency, and a rather surprised Kendo wondered if her abilities would be adequate, and Togata said that it will be enough, and said that aside from going to use her Quirk, she and Izuku will undergo training in doing detective works and undercover activities.
Izuku and Kendo glanced at each other as they felt somewhat challenged as they are about to meet one of Japan's respected pro hero, Night Eye. Izuku began his usual mumbling and muttering as he would get to learn about detective work, comparing it to fictional detectives like Sherlock Holmes, Detective Conan, and Batman. Kendo sweat-dropped and tells him that he should keep that habit under control as it might give them away as they are going to do hero work.
"Um, Midoriya…"
"Yeah?"
"Maybe you should keep that mumbling habit of yours under control."
"Eh?"
"It might give us away if we are to do detective work and stuff…"
"Oh, sorry."
"Well, it's okay."
"Well…"
Togata smiled and soon they arrived at Night Eye's agency office, where its staff members, Centipeder and Bubble Girl greeted the two teens, and both Izuku and Kendo greeted them in reply. By then Sir Night Eye came and glanced at the two, and then asked Togata if Kendo and Izuku are the ones he mentioned, which Togata nodded.
Sir Night Eye appeared to be unimpressed and tells Izuku that he doesn't want him, which Izuku appeared shocked, but is told that if he managed to catch him, he will consider. He also tells Kendo to do the same, and the two teens glanced at each other and decided to try catching Night Eye. Togata, Centipeder and Bubble Girl backed away as the two teens tried catching the pro hero, which lasted about close to three minutes, but the two teens failed.
Centipeder and Bubble Girl whispered at each other, feeling that Izuku and Kendo would be disappointed at being rejected, yet there is nothing they can do as Night Eye has the final say on this matter and cannot be appealed.
The two assistants then commented that this is how things work here.
"Looks like those two would feel dejected."
"Yeah."
"It's not easy getting sir Night Eye's approval. He has strict expectations."
"Agreed. We both narrowly got accepted and I can relate to what is happening just now."
"Those two UA students should brace themselves for the possible rejection."
"I feel bad for Togata-kun…he made the effort to bring some kids for internship…"
"Well, that's life."
"Yeah."
However, seeing that the shelves remained intact and none of the books and other files, along with Night Eye's memorabilia on All Might are damaged or disshelved, Night Eye was quite impressed and decided to put Izuku and Kendo under the agency's wing and have them undergo Hero work-Study, and Izuku is glad, with Kendo smiling, feeling that having an internship under Night Eye may not be a bad idea after all.

Hope you liked this chapter, and while there isn't much action here, the comedy relief here make up for it, as Kendo appeared to have some flustered reaction towards Midoriya, which some of her classmates in 1-B had to intervene to calm her down whilst Monoma and Shoda suffered her WRATH….
Some of the teachers came to an agreement and allowed Mirio Togata to have Midoriya and Kendo undergo internship under Night Eye's agency…
And both students are now under Night Eye. The internship will commence and the detective work is about to go underway.
