Daniel groaned in pain and clutched at his stomach, tears stinging his eyes, while Teal'c was dragging him to safety. A few seconds later, Vala was at his side.
"Daniel! Daniel, look at me," she snapped.
He obeyed, anchoring his gaze to hers, and she turned on the Goa'uld healing device over his abdomen.
"Focus on breathing. I won't let you die," she promised resolutely.
He could feel his insides healing ever so slowly as she frowned in concentration, her eyes never leaving his.
After what felt like an eternity, the pain was almost gone, and she collapsed from exhaustion.
