This one happens between chapter 1 and 2 of New Life. I realised chapter 2 seemed a bit too idyllic, so this drabble is just to illustrate that no, the first few days together wasn't all fluff and cuddlies.

She had made the mistake of answering honestly for once, and sure enough, she was going to get burnt for it.

"That wouldn't have happened if you weren't crashing on my couch, you know," he sermonned harshly.

"Well, I initially wanted to crash in your bed, but I had a feeling you would have had a problem with that," she shot back.

"How very astute of you," he retorted sarcastically.

It was his fault, really. By now, Daniel should know better than behaving like a big fat grouch before her morning coffee. She grabbed her mug and left the room.
