Chapter 4

Sliverston, Texas

Phillip came down to the kitchen just after seven. He straightened his tie and collar as he took a seat at the table. His younger cousin was no where to be seen just yet. Syrena placed a steaming mug of coffee in front of him

She placed his breakfast in front of him. Kissing him on the forehead before sitting down to her own breakfast.

"Where is Elizabeth. Is she not awake" Phillip asked after saying grace before digging into his breakfast.

"She went for a ride this morning along the river. She left a note. I think she won't be back for a while. Looked like a storm rolling through."Syrena answered.

"I only hope she found somewhere to take shelter" Phillip wonder aloud as the thunder rumbled in the distance.

"I do hope the rain holds off till after the service"

"If it rains it rains. We can't do much about the weather Syrena. If the lord wants it to rain today then it will rain" Phillip took a sip of his coffee.

I looked up at the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance. A thunder storm was building and rolling towards us. Elizabeth was still seated in my lap. She flinched little at the sound of the thunder.

"You alright" I murmured in her ear.

"I just don't like storms."

"We'll be alright. We've got shelter. I better go and check on Dutchmen. Make sure he's got feed and water. For me to do that Darlin. You'll have to get up out of my lap" I helped Elizabeth stand up.

I got up from the chair. I kissed her forehead as I picked up my hat that was hanging up near the door. The storm wasn't far off. By how the wind had picked up.

There was a lean to in the corral so he had a bit of shelter from the coming storm. By the look of those darkening clouds. We wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. There was a bit of left over oats from when we had been up here last.

I pumped some water in a bucket to put in the trough for Dutchmen. He had food, water and shelter so he would be fine.

I managed to keep a hold of my hat when I came back inside the cabin. I hung up my hat. I removed my gun belt. Placing it on the rickety table.

"Don't think that storm's all that far off."I murmured to my self.

"Your horse he's going to be alright"

"He'll be fine. He's got food, water and shelter from the storm." I took her in my arms. Hellfire I hadn't even told her how I felt. Did I know how I felt about Elizabeth. Just by looking in those beautiful brown eyes of hers. I could see a future for the two of us.

There had been instant spark of fire of attraction between us since we had first met a few days ago. I had fallen in love with her instantly and I barely knew her let alone her name at the time.

"Will. I um never" Elizabeth started but struggled to find the right words to say.

"Felt an instance connection" I offered

"In a manner of speaking yes. I felt something the first time I set eyes on you. I don't know wither you feel that the same way I feel about you" she mumbled into my chest

"Like you where struck by lightening Darlin."I glanced down at her .

"I never been in. You know"

"No what do you mean"I joked to lighten the mood.

"You know very well what I damn well mean William Turner."Elizabeth smacked me on the chest.

"In love" I answered.

"In love yes. I know this is crazy being in love with someone you barely know and have only met days ago"

"Well we must both be crazy. Cause I've fallen head over heels in love with you as well" I confessed. I had admitted to myself as well. That I was in love with Elizabeth. And we barely knew one another.

"Was it like this with your wife. I don't mean to pry. I just want to know"

"What Victoria and I had started a lot different then what we have. We grew up together. We'd been friends for years before. Either of us admitted our feelings to one another."It didn't hurt as much now to think or talk about Victoria as it had once done.

The rain started to beat down steadily on the roof of the cabin."Guess the storms here"I remarked as we went to sit back in front of the fire.

"Oh well. Guess we'll be missing church then"

"Think I'd rather be here then stuck in the hot box of a church listen your cousin preach about this weeks mortal sin" I wrapped an arm around her waist as she sat back in my lap.

"You and Phillip where friends once. Was what happened with Brandon Matthews why your not friends anymore" Elizabeth carefully asked.

"In a manner of speaking yes. Me and him don't see eye to eye much these days. Don't thing he going to be to please you being here alone with me. A cold blooded killer and all that"

"He can go jump in the river. He anit my father so he got no say who I love or spend my time with" I could imagine the look on her father's face when or if he ever meets me.

"What about your family back home in Philadelphia you must miss them. You said you got brothers" I asked after a few minutes of silence.

"Four younger brothers. Ben's the oldest, then there's Tommy, Sam and Andrew are the babies of the family. I had an older twin brother Oliver, but he was still born. Mama almost died bringing he and I into the world."

"I guess I know a little about that. My mama died birthing Henry. I was five when she died. When I was six and Henry was a year old. Pa brought us and our grandparents out from Scotland.

He remarried when I was ten and Henry was five. We've got two younger half brothers and half sister. Matthew's nineteen, Dalton seventeen and Morgan will fifteen in a few months."I revealed.

Sliverston, Texas.

It had rained and stormed through the Sunday Service. The storm didn't look like it was going to let up for a good few hours or the rest of the day.

"Nice Sermon Revered" William 'Bootstrap Bill' Turner Senior extend his hand to Phillip.

"Well I try to keep it fresh each week. Mr Turner. I see Matthew, Dalton and Morgan are almost grown up" Phillip shook his hand.

"That they are. Matt and Dalton are almost men. Morgan she just as wild as her four brother. She takes more after her eldest brother the most. She's got Will's short and fiery temper"

"Speaking of William. I didn't see him today. Is he not coming to church now" Phillip queried.

"He left early this morning. To check the herd along the river. He most likely got caught up in the storm. Speaking of which. Henry mentioned your cousin come out from Philadelphia to teach here in Sliverston."

"Elizabeth yes. Though I haven't seen her this morning. She went for a ride before dawn and hasn't come back yet. She most of got caught up in the storm too."Phillip was starting to worry. He hoped Elizabeth was safe and sound from the storm.

Syrena was talking Carina, and few other ladies she was friends with in town. "Tia by golly you look" Carina proclaimed to the Gunsmith's Wife.

"Big as a house. Lord I feel like Moby Dick. Though Davy swears I look just fine or more beautiful. A good liar my husband is not" Tia chuckled.

Syrena smiled sadly. Her and Phillip had yet to be blessed with children. They had suffered nothing but heartbreak. Syrena had lost a few babes. They had lost two beautiful sons at birth. The Lord had decided he need them in his care more.

Phillip said it didn't bother him none. But Syrena knew it bothered Phillip more then he let on. He was pulling more and more away from her. He barely touched her in the marriage bed these days.

"Pa. You missed the service" Carina declared spotting her father astride his buckskin Stallion. Deputies Mullroy and Murtogg sat either side of him on their horses.

"I was a might busy daughter of mine. Reverend Swift. I found something that might belong to you. I found her not far from town" Sheriff Barbossa was leading the small grey mare Elizabeth had been riding the passed few days.

"That's the mare. My cousin Elizabeth's been riding. Where did you say you found her Sheriff" Phillip appeared worried.

"Not far from town. It looks like she run to like the devil been on her tail. You said your cousin been riding her. When was the last time you saw her this morning"

"We anit seen her Sheriff. Elizabeth left a note. She was going for a ride along the river" Syrena cut in.

"The storm might have spooked the horse. She could have been thrown."Davy came to stand beside his wife.

"We better get a search party together."Bill Turner advised.

"Alright we'll need volunteers. Though the weather couldn't be worse" Barbossa looked up at the still dark sky.

I just about froze my balls off after I ducked to the outhouse. For a piss. The wind was howling. I manged to get inside with being knocked over. The storm was getting worse.

"Cazzo fa freddo là fuori" I mutter in Italian under my breath as I locked the door behind me.

"Since when did you speak Italian" Elizabeth questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"My Nan's Husband Alex is Italian."I answered.

"Bugger off with your cold hands" Elizabeth side stepped me

"Such language from a lady. Oh the horror" I joked as I took her into my arms.

"Oh this is nothing. The trouble and stress I put my governess through"

"You a troublemaker. Who would have thought it" I pressed a kiss to her throat.

"Oh James and I got up to plenty of mischief growing up" Elizabeth laughed at few childhood memories.

"James" I asked

"He and I grew up together. We're like brother and sister. We where well are still thick as thieves. Though my father wanted us to be more" I relaxed a little."William Turner your not jealous are you"

"What" I must have spoke my thoughts out loud.

"James is like a brother to me. Nothing more."

"You reckon your old man would approve."I couldn't hardly imagine her family approving of her marry a rough riding, short tempered, windowed bounty hunter with a reputation for violence.

"My Daddy and his family anit that snobby at all. My mama didn't come from money. They met when mama started working at the house. Mama's sweet heart. He died during the war at Gettysburg. He and Daddy fought together along with my Uncle Michael and Gareth

Hell my Granddaddy he had lot less money compared to my grand mamma's family back in England. All he would care about is that you love, respect and looked after me"

"Though I don't think your father approve of this" I spoke again a few minutes later.

"Approve of what" Elizabeth spoke before I kissed her.

Elizabeth wrapped her arms around my neck. My hands rested on her hips. I had never been this forward with Victoria. What was it about Elizabeth that made me act this way. Whatever the reason I wasn't about to questioned it.

I had no doubt Elizabeth could feel my hardened manhood through my trousers. With just a kiss she had spent my blood a blaze.

I broke the kiss first. I leaned my forehead against hers. We got our breathing under control. I had to rein in my self control before we went to far. I would never push her to do anything she didn't want to do.

If she wanted to wait. Then I would respect her decision. I was happy to wait. I had done it before.

"We don't have to do anything you don't want to do" I whispered as she looked at me.

"And if I said I wanted to wait. You'd wait" I nodded" What if I said I didn't want to wait. Then what do you say" God dame it woman. Elizabeth hand slipped down between us. I was trying to show some self restraint.

"Is that what you want" I asked. It was Elizabeth's decision to make. I wouldn't push her into anything.

"I don't want to wait. Make love to me Will" This woman was going to be the death of me.

I kissed her with all the love I had for this woman. I had met only days ago and fallen head over heels for. Everyone could go to hell. The only ones who mattered at the moment where the two of us. The rest of the world didn't matter at the moment. It was just the two of us.
