Narcissa walked to Elizabeth's room. She was still dressed in her outfit from earlier although she had taken out her hair. She knocked on the door and entered just as the maid left from preparing Elizabeth for bed.
"So busy day I hear," said Narcissa, coming to sit on the side of the bed.
"That's one way of putting it. I hear you and Will had a run in with Jack Sparrow," replied Elizabeth.
"Yes, we handled it," said Narcissa with a shrug.
"You know before I feinted over the cliff, Norrington was about to propose."
"Well, we saw that coming didn't we?" said Narcissa dryly.
"Do you think I should accept Cissy? It's a smart match. Father would be pleased." Narcissa placed her hand over Elizabeth's.
"I think you should do what makes you happy. James is a good man but I don't call him Borrington for nothing." Elizabeth giggled. Suddenly the medallion around Elizabeth's neck caught Narcissa's eye. It had the stamp of a skull on it. Narcissa reached up to touch it.
"Where did you get this?" she asked. Elizabeth looked nervous.
"Oh come on I'm not going to tell anyone," said Narcissa with an eyeroll.
"It was on Will the night we found him. I took it so they wouldn't think he was a pirate and order him killed."
"Well, that was brave of you Lizzie. I wonder what it's significance is." Narcissa said thoughtfully.
"I have no idea," said Elizabeth with a shrug.
"It's late, you should ge some sleep, I'll see you in the morning." Narcissa said kissing her on the cheek. She then headed back to her own room. But instead of going to bed she climbed out her window and onto the roof which had a flat part she could sit on.
Narcissa looked up at the stars, seeing her favorite constellation. Narcissus. Two of the stars were thought to represent the greek twins Castor and Pollux patrons of sailors.
She remembered the words her father had said before she left.
"We pirates sail by the stars. So whenever ye look up at the sky and see your constellation ye'll know I'm thinking about ye."
She wasn't sure how long she had been watching the stars but she noticed a ship sailing towards Port Royal. Grabbing her spyglass she looked and saw black sails and a flag with a skull and crossbones.
"Pirates," she breathed justs as the ship started firing on Port Royal. Narcissa scrambled to get back inside slowed down by her dress. By the time she was back inside she could see pirates running threw the streets as people screamed.
Narcissa raced towards Elizabeth's room only to nearly run into her on the landing. There was a knock at the door which the butler went to answer.
"No!" screamed Narcissa and Elizabeth in unison. But it was too late. The butler opened the door to reveal several pirates.
"Ello mate," said one shooting the butler. The pirates looked up and saw the two girls both of whom raced into one of the guest rooms locking the door. The pirates broke through fairly easily and followed them into a second room where Elizabeth hit on of the pirates with the bedwarmer causing him to fall. The second pirate grabbed the bedwarmer only to have the coals dropped on him.
"Nice one Liz!" said Naricissa, grabbing her friend's hand and racing down the stairs. One of the pirates jumped over the railing blocking them while the other approached from behind. Just as Narcissa thought they were trapped a pirates carrying valuables entered only to be hit by a canon ball that broke through the house breaking the chain of the chandelier and causing it to fall.
The girls used this as a distraction to race into the Governor's study. Elizabeth used a candelabra to jam the door and Narcissa grabbed a sword from above the mantel. She then gestured for Elizabeth to hide. The blond shot Narcissa a look that clearly said,
"What about you?"
"Don't argue!" mouthed Narcissa. Reluctently Elizabeth hid in a closet just as the door broke down.
"Ah ha!" cried the lanky pirate with a wooden eye. He and his shorter companion pulled their swords. Narcissa put up an admirable fight but between the two pirates managed to overpower her. The short one disarmed her while the tall one grabbed her by the arms and held her.
"Now where's your pretty companion?" asked the short one.
"She escaped," Narcissa lied. To her dismay the pirates laughed.
"Nice try luv, but the gold calls to us," the short one told her as he approached the closet.
"Ello poppet," he said before opening the doors.
"Parley!" shouted Elizabeth. "I invoke the right of parlay! According to the Code of the Brethern, set down by the pirates Morgan and Bartholomew, you must take me to your Captain!"
"I know the code," said the short pirate.
"Parley," the pirates looked at Narcissa as she rolled her eyes which for some reason seemed to unsettle the pirates.
"You didn't think I'd use it too? Anyway the code states if an adversary demands parley you can do them no harm until the parley is complete."
"And so do you," said the short pirate.
"To blazes with the code!" said the pirate holding Narcissa but the short one raised his hand.
"They want to see the Captain and they'll come without a fuss. We must honor the code."
"Damn right you'd better," muttered Narcissa.
PotC
They were led through the town explosions going all around them. The two pirates kept their pistols pointed at the Narcissa and Elizabeth. Narcissa's mind was running a mile a minute trying to work this out. If her hunch that this was The Black Pearl given the sails, was correct, she was in for quite the reunion.
They got in a row boat and the lanky pirate began rowing them towards the ship. The silence was slightly awkward but Narcissa squeezed Elizabeth's hand to comfort her. They came up alongside the ship which loomed ominously above them.
Elizabeth went up first followed by Narcissa and the two pirates. Once they reached the deck they came face to face with a tall black pirate with several piercings.
"I didn't know we were taking captives," said the pirate with the piercings.
"They've asked to see the Captain," the short pirate said.
"I've come..." began Elizabeth but the pirate cut her off by slapping her.
"You will speak when spoken to!"
"You bastard!" exclaimed Narcissa. The pirate raised his hand to slap her and Narcissa reached up instinctively to grab his wrist at the exact same time as a large weathered hand also grabbed it.
"And ye'll naught lay a hand on those under the protection of parley!" a loud voice ordered. Narcissa looked up to see who had stopped him and found herself facing a pair of familiar blue eyes which widened in surprise.
"Narcissa!"
