Narcissa made her way back to the cabin that was serving as her and Elizabeth's quarters ignoring the skeleton crew. She had been honest when she said she wasn't scared. She had seen the pain in her father's eyes as he reached out to touch her. Clearly expecting her to shy away.

Narcissa knew her father wasn't a good man but she didn't think anyone should be cursed like that.

She opened the door to their cabin to see Elizabeth curled in a corner. Narcissa sighed and crouched down next to her.

"How are you?" she asked softly.

"Incredibly scared. Their skeletons Cissy!" Elizabeth replied and Narcissa nodded.

"Yes, yes they are," she wasn't sure what else to say.

"How are we going to get out of this Cissy?" asked Elizabeth. Narcissa shrugged.

"Well, stabbing my father while still on a ship full of pirates in the middle of the ocean doesn't seem like the best solution." Elizabeth sighed.

"Yes, sorry about that. I just..."

"Panicked?" supplied Narcissa.

"Yes." agreed Elizabeth.

"In all seriousness I'm not entirely sure. But I promise I'll find a way to make sure you get back to Port Royal."

"What about you?" asked Elizabeth who seemed to have caught on to the fact that Narcissa hadn't included herself in the statement.

"I'm not sure at this point what I'm going to do. I'm still figuring things out," she said with a sigh.

"I'm just worried what they'll do when they learn I'm not a Turner."

"Well...I've kind of solved that problem. I told my father you aren't a Turner. I figured it was better he knew now rather than finding out once we get to Isla de Muerta." Elizabeth looked shocked.

"But now they know I'm of no use!"

"Actually, that's not the case. They need Will's blood, right?" Elizabeth looked confused.

"Yes."

"Well, they couldn't have better bait than the woman he's in love with and the girl he considers a sister. I can practically guarantee that Will's found a way to follow us. We go to Isla de Muerta I convince him to give a little blood to end the curse and we find a way to get you two back to Port Royal," explained Narcissa.

"So we're bait?" asked Elizabeth.

"Well, it sounds bad when you put it THAT way but essentially, yes," replied Narcissa.

"But Will isn't in love with me," protested Elizabeth. Narcissa groaned.

"Liz. Are you SERIOUSLY so blind you can't see the lovesick puppy looks he's always giving you? It's blatantly obvious you're in love with each other and don't you dare contradict me and say you don't love him." Elizabeth sighed.

"Alright, I DO love him. But why does he always insist on being so formal then?"

"For the same reason you haven't acted on it. He's too blind to see you love him and there's that nasty little society barrier."

"I wish things were simpler. That I could be free to love who I want," Elizabeth said sadly.

"Well, if you ask me, I say hang society and get the nerve to tell him how you feel. One of you has to break the ice," Narcissa told her with a huff. It really was frustrating to see two people so obviously in love unable to be together.

"What about father?" asked Elizabeth.

"If Weatherby actually cares about you he should just let you be happy," Narcissa replied with a shrug. Elizabeth sighed as they both lay down on their make-shift bed.

"I don't know for sure if you are right about him but if you are you promise you'll make sure your father doesn't kill him?"

"Absolutely," Narcissa assured her.

"Alright, well, good night Cissy."

"Goodnight, Liz," Narcissa replied. Her sister fell asleep fairly quickly but Narcissa lay awake for a while staring at the ceiling. She felt bad that Elizabeth had been roped into this whole ordeal but she could find herself regretting her capture. She wanted her friends safe but she also wanted her father de-cursed. It was a frustrating juxtaposition.

Finally, she closed her eyes, hoping her hunch about Will was right.

Jack and Will had been sailing for a while now. Will was still trying to come to terms with the notion that his father had been a pirate. The people he had been taught to fear and hate.

"How long until we make it to Tortuga?" he asked.

"Oh, maybe a day or so," said Jack with a shrug. Will groaned.

"They could kill Elizabeth and Narcissa in that time." He buried his face in his hands only to hear a snort come from Jack.

"What?" he asked looking up.

"Well, let's just say I doubt your dear Narcissa and by extension Elizabeth will be killed any time soon. Certainly not the redhead at least."

"Why would they care about Narcissa?" asked Will. Jack raised his eyebrows.

"You mean the lass didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?" demanded Will.

"You and Narcissa have more in common than a liking of swords. She happens to be the daughter of Hector Barbossa the Captain we're chasing."

"What!" exclaimed Will. He was one thing but Narcissa? Surely, she would have told him.

"Ask her when you find her mate. I don't like Barbossa by a long shot. But I'll say this. The bastard wouldn't kill his own child and if Miss Davis cares enough about Elizabeth I doubt she'll let her come to any serious harm."

Will looked out over the sea. It was almost too much to process. He supposed he could only hope Jack was telling the truth and this Captain Barbossa's fondness for his daughter would protect the two girls until Will could rescue them.

Regardless he would CERTAINLY be having words with Narcissa about not telling him. She was like his sister after all.

A week and a half had passed and Narcissa had spent as much time as possible with her father. For his part Hector Barbossa didn't seem to mind her following him and asking questions about the running of the ship. They also had sword fighting lessons every day and Narcissa liked to thinks she was improving.

Narcissa had also gotten to know some of the crew fairly well. The main two she spoke with were the ones that had captured her. Pintel and Ragetti. Who were probably the funniest comedic duo she had ever met. Neither was particularly bright but they were friendly enough.

"So how long have you been sailing with my father?" she asked one day.

"We were sailing with Captain Barbossa on the Cobra before it sank and we joined Jack's crew," answered Pintel.

"So that's why you were loyal to him when he mutinied on Jack?" she asked.

"Jack wasn't so bad," commented Ragetti before Pintel hit him in the back of the head causing his wooden eye to pop out.

"Do ye want to end up like Bootstrap?" he hissed

"Oh right, I mean very bad. Very bad," said Ragetti hurriedly as he tried to grab his eye. Jack the monkey, who had been sitting on Narcissa's shoulder, jumped off and grabbed the eye.

"Give that back!" cried Ragetti running after the monkey. Narcissa and Pintel both laughed.

"Shouldn't ye be working?" asked a stern voice behind Narcissa and she turned to see her father glaring at Pintel who hurredly grabbed a rag and began scrubbing the railing.

"Aye Captain!"

"It's my fault Father, I distracted them," said Narcissa rolling her eyes at her father's protectiveness although she actually found it quite sweet.

"Come with me, I'd like to show ye something," her father said and Narcissa followed him up to the steps to the helm where he father took over from Bosun.

"What is it?" she asked.

"I'd like to teach ye how to sail the Pearl" he said. She stepped in front of him and he placed her hands on the helm his larger ones covering hers and guiding them.

"This controls the rudder, now we want to go slightly to the west so just turn it a bit to the left." She did as instructed and slowly the ship began to change course.

"Yer a natural," he told and she could hear the pride in his voice.

"Well, I guess it's in my blood," she replied. After several more minutes she gave the helm back to her father and sat down on a nearby barrel.

"Ye never did explain yer connection to the Turner boy," her father said after a moment.

"Oh, Will is like a brother. He's one of the few people that didn't try and question or stifle my less lady-like tendencies. Will was the one that taught me to sword fight and he covered up for me quite often when I got into mischief."

"I see. And Miss Swann?"

"Well, about a year after I had been in the orphanage her father came looking for a girl he could adopt to act as her companion. Elizabeth had just lost her mother and he thought she could use company. I was chosen and have been with Elizabeth ever since. We've been there for each other for years and like I said. She was the closest thing I had to family." Narcissa explained saying the last part softly. Her father looked back at her.

"I'm sorry I couldn't have been there for ye," he told her. Narcissa shrugged.

"I know why you did it and I've never blamed you. Nothing against your parenting skills but I don't think you could have safely raised an 8 year old girl while continuing to be a pirate. I suppose it worked out for the best. Weatherby never treated me very different from his daughter. I got the same education and everything." Narcissa stood up and came to stand next to him.

"Aye, but I still wish I could have been a better father to ye," sighed her father. Narcissa placed a hand on his arm.

"As far as I can tell you've been doing a pretty good job. You took responsibility for mother and I when I was little, helping us and returning to visit and get to know your own daughter. You gave me up to give me my best chance, and you welcomed me back when we finally reunited. It's more than many fathers do." She met his gaze as he looked over at her the barest hint of a smile on his face.

"I'm glad ye think so."
