After he woke up, Max heard a noise coming from the bathroom. It sounded like Roxanne was in there and using the hairdryer after using the shower. He checked his alarm clock, which said it was nine o'clock in the morning. He was still feeling very tired from doing T-Rax's first tour ever, but he was feeling more happier about the fact it was a complete success. All tickets for every concert were sold out and, as he performed, there were no empty seats at all. He imagined that this was how his heroes especially Powerline must have felt when they finished tours: exhausted but more importantly proud of their achievements.
Then Max remembered today was his godchildren's costume birthday party and he still hadn't even thought of a costume, let alone look for one.
"Hey, T-Rax."
Max looked down to the floor and saw his three robot friends. They were standing by his bed and holding some clothes. They looked like a blue space suit or armor and a cool blue helmet with an orange visor in the middle.
"These are for you, T-Rax, to wear at your grandchildren's birthday party," Screwy said.
"It's godchildren, not grandchildren," Nutsy said. "He doesn't even have children of his own."
"Put these on quickly, T-Rax," Botty said. "You don't want to be late for your godchildren's party, do you?"
Max got out of bed and put the space costume on. "Where did you guys get these?"
"There was a costume shop very close to here," Nutsy said.
"And they were very cheap," Botty said. "This whole lot cost only five dollars."
"And remember when you told me about your favourite space heroes?" Screwy said. "What was he called? The Supreme Admiral from that video game series called Balo?"
"Well remembered, Screwy," Max said, as he finished putting on the space armor. "And thank you all for this awesome outfit. It fits perfectly like a glove. But what if your mother finds out about this?"
Then all of them heard the bathroom door opening. The robots dived to hide under the bed.
Max grabbed his mobile phone and put it by his ear in time for him to turn and face Roxanne.
"Okay. Okay! Well, tell your mother that if she wants me to do concerts for her, she will have to agree to my requests as well. I'm not her slave, you know. Understood? Good. Now, get on with those negotiations before someone comes up with a better deal for me. Bye now." He pressed the red button on his phone.
"Who was that, Max?" Roxanne asked.
"Some son of a recording label mogul who wants me to make a few albums for their recording label," Max said. "He wants me to help him prove his worth to his mother, who's the founder and the CEO of the label."
"Wow, you must be very popular if everyone's trying to get you to work for them."
Then Max took a proper look at Roxanne and saw that she was wearing a fairy outfit. She was wearing a pink dress with pink fairy wings behind her and holding a large pink wand. "You look absolutely lovely, Roxanne. My godchildren will love you!"
"Thanks, Max," Roxanne said. "Is that supposed to be some kind of a space warrior outfit? Whatever it is, it's truly awesome."
"Thanks."
"This is a very cool car, Roxanne," Max said, as Roxanne drove to Richmond.
"Thanks, Max. I know it's still a bit 90s, but it still works like it always does in 2002."
While Roxanne drove her small green car, Max navigated her to the house of PJ and Lucy's.
"By the way, I just wanted to thank you for coming to my last concerts on my tour, Roxanne," Max said. "You being there really made them very special for me. You've made those nights my favourite ones not just of my music career but of my whole life." She attended the last four concerts of T-Rax did in Jamford.
Roxanne was deeply touched by that. "Oh, thank you, Max. And thank you for letting me see you those nights. They were the best nights of my life as well."
"Did you like the suite you saw me perform?" Max asked.
"It was awesome and it was very generous of you to arrange it for you. I always knew you were very special, Max, and you were going to do something special with his life, but even this has exceeded my imaginations."
"Yeah. I didn't think I would make it this big either."
"And I'm also glad that success hasn't gone through your head. You're remaining humble and caring and that's what I admire about you the most."
"Thanks." He remembered every TV interview he did he was told by the interviewers about how he was admired by fans alike for being humble and caring the best way he could and when asked why he gave it for two reasons. The first one was because he had a very caring father who raised him to be that way and the second one was that he used to get the bullied so much that he decided that the best way to get revenge on bullies is not to join them.
"But I do have to ask you something, Max," Roxanne said. "Why did you call yourself T-Rax?"
"My manager named me that," Max said. Then he told her the whole story about how a week before his famous debut that she gave him some lyrics and an electric guitar to practice in his locker on the same day when he was janitor and had joined Miss Clarabelle's backup dancing group and how she wanted him to be ready on the very same day when Chilly Phil was going to his TV concert when he thought he was just going to do backup dancing. Then during the second act, Chilly Phill's concert was over, but T-Rax's very first concert arrived and that was when T-Rax was born and how she continued to arrange everything in his career, including every song he ever performed, his first album and his first tour.
"Sounds like she doesn't like to waste time," Roxanne said.
"She sure doesn't. She keeps me very busy. So that was why when my dad took you to see me in the dressing room back in Tanchester Square Garden and I wasn't there because she needed to see me. She's always keeping me busy."
"What's her name?"
"I don't know," Max said. "She doesn't call herself these names, but my friends and I call her the Angel of Music, the Rock Ghost and the one I use the most the Phantom of Rock n Roll."
As Roxanne continued to drive, she started to worry about this Phantom of Rock n Roll for Max's wellbeing.
