"Why so silent, ladies and gentlemen?" the Phantom asked, as she walked towards the other guests.
Everyone shuddered as they nervously tried to back away from the Phantom. They only got as far as up to the wall. They would have reached for the front door or the window if only they weren't blocked off by the Phantom's robots. Though they were putting on tough faces, Max hoped that they were upset about doing this even though they had no choice.
"Is it the hat?" the Phantom asked. "Or the robe? Or am I just too red for this party?"
Peg pushed through everyone and angrily stared at the Phantom. "Who are you?" she angrily demanded. "What do you want? And what are you doing here at my grandchildren's party?"
"I'm T-Rax's manager," the Phantom said. "I'm the Angel of Music."
"Is this really your manager?" Roxanne whispered to Max.
"Yeah," Max replied.
Pete pushed through the crowd and joined Peg. "So, you're the person who crashed the chandelier down and ruined my stadium?" he yelled at the Phantom.
"But I'm not the cause of it," The Phantom said. "It wouldn't have happened if that idiot diva Chilly Phil did what I wanted him to do."
"I don't care who did it!" Pete snapped. "You're gonna pay for –"
"Pay for what?" The Phantom clicked her fingers.
Everyone gasped as they saw the kids of PJ and Lucy and the kids of Stacy and Lauren being held by Botty and Nutsy.
"It seems you will be paying for your grandchildren's lives, Mr. Pete, unless you along with everyone do what I say when I say so. First, you and Mr. Mouse will not charge me for the shattered chandelier and you will pay me the money I'm due, which would be thirty thousand dollars."
"Thirty thousand dollars!" Pete cried. "Who do you think you are to –"
"Pete!" Peg yelled. "For crying out loud, do it for our grandkids!"
Pete looked at his grandkids who looked like they were very uncomfortable being held by the robots. Then he sighed. "Fine. Your wish is my command."
"Now, the next person I want to see is T-Rax," the Phantom said. "I have something very important to discuss with him that cannot wait which is my perfect reason why I had to ruin your grandkids' party."
Max sighed as he approached her. "The tour is over, Angel. It was a successful tour. Full house every night and no refunds. I was coming back to you. This is just a quick stop on the way back home and –" He stopped when the Phantom grabbed his lips.
"I don't care if you've been elected President of the United States," the Phantom said. "I will always make you remember that you are forever my slave and you belong to me!"
Everyone shuddered with fear as they raised her voice with that last sentence.
"But I'm not too upset," the Phantom said to Max, as she let go as his lips. "Because while you were out touring, I have written a musical." She slammed into Max's hands a script. "A full musical and you are playing the leading male part. When the stadium reopens again in three days, this musical will have its premiere and you will be perfect. No mistakes." Then she turned to Pete. "Another job for your list, Mr. Pete. You will begin advertising this musical in time for its premiere." Then she turned to the rest of the guests. "You are all invited to see your friend in his big stage musical debut."
"Are we really invited?" Peg asked. "Or are you forcing us to come?"
"What if we don't come?" Stacy asked.
The Phantom just chuckled. "You're going to wish you hadn't asked that because my AI robots here will come and kidnap your kids and maybe even blow up your homes. Do you want that for your kids? Do you want them taken away from you and their homes and never knowing about you at all?"
The guests sighed.
"Just what I thought." The Phantom turned back to Max. "If you are not back in Tanchester and rehearsing at eight o'clock tomorrow morning, the very worst will happen and it will be even worse than a shattered chandelier. This is my final warning." Then she turned to the robots. "Come, my children. It's the twins' birthday. Let them go and have a good one."
The AI robots threw the young children in the air, but they were caught by Max and Roxanne.
Peg growled as she charged for the Phantom and her robots, but she got stopped by when a cloud of smoke appeared behind them.
The smoke didn't last long and vanished in ten seconds. Peg tried to follow the Phantom and the robots, but they were nowhere to be seen. She tried to find how they escaped, but she couldn't. She couldn't even find a hidden hole in the wall or on the floor or anything that she thought how the Phantom and the AI robots could escape.
Everyone was so shaken and sad since the Phantom's shocking and scary arrival and how much she ruined a fun party. They didn't say or do anything for a long while, except PJ, Lucy, Stacy, Lauren and Bobby comforting their children. Everyone was so sad and petrified to even have one slice of the birthday cake.
Max felt the saddest of them all because he felt very guilty. He felt that he let everyone down and ruined the party all because he disobeyed the Phantom a few times. Then he decided that the sooner he got back to Tanchester, the better for everyone. He went out of the house, spotted a taxi approaching him and he held his arm out to catch its attention.
"Max, wait!"
Max turned to see Roxanne running to him.
"Don't go. Don't do this to yourself just for the sake of this Phantom."
"I have to, Roxanne," Max said. "If I don't, I will only cause something even worse than this party for my godchildren."
"Max, this party indecent wasn't for your fault," Roxanne said. "You didn't cause it."
"I'm sorry," Max said. "But I am her slave and I must please her. It was great to see you again after all these years, Roxanne. You have my number and email address so feel free to give me a call or an email sometime in the future. And good luck getting divorced from Hugo." Then he got into the taxi and told the driver, leaving poor Roxanne alone on the street.
Roxanne sadly went back into the house.
"Roxanne, have you seen Maxie?" Goofy asked.
"He caught a taxi to go back to Tanchester already," she said. "He told me the sooner he pleases the Phantom, the better it will be for everyone." She sighed. "If only there was a way to help him get free from him."
"Yeah," Goofy said sadly. Then he thought of something and smiled. "That's it!"
"What is, Mr. Goof?" a confused Roxanne asked.
"I know a guy who can help."
