"Mom, we're back." Bia and Tiago yelled across the room.
They walked towards the center of the room. Jewel was standing there like she saw a ghost.
"Mom?" Tiago asked, concerned. Jewel was standing there looking at nothing.
Jewel turned around and stared at Bia, looking like she found out a secret Bia wanted to keep.
"Mom, are you ok?" Bia asked this time.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm fine." Jewel will ask about that later, when she has a clear head.
3 days had passed and Jewel still couldn't piece together what actually happened to the phantom. The only thing she knew about it was that it was killed by a predator and blamed her son for what happened to her. She needed more time but right now, spending time with her family and asking Bia about what she feels about Tiago are top priority right now.
4 days have passed. Tiago is getting another physical Examination. This was the perfect opportunity to ask Bia. Even more so, since Jewel can fly again.
She flew to the hollow her family currently calls home. Bia was there, reading books about human machinery.
"Oh, hi mom."
"Bia, I think we need to talk."
"Ok?" Bia said confused, was she in trouble?
Jewel readied herself to finally ask the question.
"Do you hate your brother?" Jewel needs to get this over as fast as she can.
"What." Did Bia just hear her mother asking if she hates Tiago.
"Do you hate Tiago?"
"What! No, What makes you think that!"
"I saw how you react when he does his pranks." Jewel lied.
"I don't hate him, sure, he annoys me but he's my little brother!" Bia was practically yelling at Jewel.
"So, why do you think I hate him!?"
Jewel was going to tell Bia what the phantom said but since Bia doesn't believe in the paranormal, she decided to drop it.
"I just wanted to know." Jewel left the hollow before Bia could ask.
A week had passed. It was the day Jewel would finally get her voice back. Jewel decided to spend all of her free time spending time with Bia and Tiago.
Hours had passed and she only had 15 minutes before her voice returns.
"KIDS, BREAKFAST!" Jewel yelled out loud.
Bia and Tiago flew towards the door. Just the day before, Jewel apologized to Bia for assuming She hated Tiago. Their relationship is still stained right now but it was better than 2 days ago, when Bia ignored any attempts to talk to her.
During breakfast, Bia talked about facts she learned from the books.
This lasted until Tulio opened the security door and told Jewel it was time for the surgery.
Before Tulio picked her up, She hugged her children.
2 weeks had passed.
Jewel's surgery was a success, she can finally talk to her children without sounding like a Corpse. she couldn't speak for a week though but it was worth it in the end.
Jewel woke up first. She goes to the area of the hollow Bia and Tiago were sleeping in.
"Sweet dreams, my little ones." She said before giving them both a quick kiss on their forehead before she left.
Jewel knocked on the metal door.
Linda opened the hatch. Jewel only knocked on the door if she wanted to see Blu. Jewel perched on Linda's hand and walked to room 411.
Tiago got up from his slumber. He went to his mom's sleeping area but it was empty.
"She's probably in the room Carla and Dad are in." Bia said, startling Tiago.
"But, she usually tells us she's going there though." Tiago said
"How many times have you done the same to me?" Bia gave a smirk
Tiago tried to defend himself but stopped when he realized Bia was right.
"So, how long do you think she's going to stay in the room?" Bia said
"About 2 hours at most." Tiago answered.
"Wanna swim in the water again?" Bia asked.
Tiago immediately went towards the stream of water. Bia followed him.
Jewel Was on the table Blu and Carla were in. Linda left a couple of minutes ago, giving Jewel space.
Jewel flew towards Carla. Tears were in her eyes.
"I'm sorry." That was all jewel could say.
She failed as a mother. She didn't pay attention to her instincts and she might have to bury her eldest daughter. Jewel couldn't say goodbye to her own mother, she can however say goodbye to her children.
She walked towards her mate.
"We're chained to each other birds, remember?"
Jewel stood there. She hates seeing her mate like this. Hated the feeling of helplessness. The only thing Jewel could do was Hope.
"Please wake up, Blu"
The next chapter will show Blu waking up. It will take some for me to make the chapter. until then, see you guys when I update this fanfic.
