Hello Again. This chapter might be the most emotional out of all of them. I made references to another one of Professor ass spiders stories, i wanna see if you can spot them. (Original made by professor ass spiders. Rio is owned by 20th century fox/Fox animation.)
Darkness.
That was all Blu could see. Darkness.
Blu opened his eyes. He looked around asking himself in his head, what happened?
The last thing he could remember was flying with his family but that was all he could remember.
Then like a puzzle piece, it clicked.
The cages!
The cages!
The screaming of birds being caught by nets and cages.
Blu told Jewel and their kids to run.
His family escaped.
he didn't.
He looked around the darkness, he didn't see any steel bars, he wasn't caged.
"What do you think is gonna happen to the birds?"
"Plucked, stuff, eaten. Doesn't matter, we're rich."
Blu decides to go to the darkest part of whatever is holding him. They haven't caged him yet, so if he stays silent, they'll panic and search through the transportation.
He heard the top open.
"Wait, it's gone!"
"What!" Blu assumed that's the leader of the smugglers.
"Find that bird now! It shouldn't have gone far." The leader said.
They left the box. He climbed out and he saw what transportation that they were using.
It was a Boat. The smugglers are professionals. A boat is harder to track and they can just simply just tell coast guards that the birds were pets or hide them.
Blu was going to leave when he saw other birds.
Birds that were caged. Families torn apart because of someone's greed.
He had to free them. He can't just stand by and watch Life's being ruined.
Blu looked and found a fire extinguisher. He dragged the extinguisher and pulled the pin.
It broke the cage.
The birds thanked him and flew away from the boat.
Blu heard footsteps
He hid in a corner.
"The cage."
"We got a damn stowaway." Blu took a peek and saw the smugglers pulling out guns.
"Find them!" They walked right past him.
Blu had to be careful, The smugglers didn't care about who they have to kill, as long as they get paid.
After what seemed like hours, Blu freed nearly all of the birds.
"Show yourself, we know where you are." The smugglers were trying to find a human. They wouldn't suspect that a macaw is doing this.
The smugglers left the area.
Blu moved his head.
A pair of blue and gold macaws decided to stay, saying that their son was in here as well. Blu couldn't shake the feeling that he knew them.
He found the cage that the Pair said their son was in.
"Mom, Dad." The blue and gold macaw chick stuttered in fear.
"It's ok, Tomas, Mommy's here." The female blue and gold macaw said comforting her son.
Blu opened the cage. Good thing about being a companion is that you learn some things that wild macaws don't like opening a bolt lock.
"Where's Lucas?." Tomas said.
"He's here as well?" The male gold and blue macaw said in surprise.
"We have to help him." Blu had to stop the family from going.
"What are you doing!" Tomas said.
"I know you want to save your friend but there's too many of us here." Blu hated doing this but he can't risk a kid dying.
"Wait here, if you hear footsteps or talking, hide in that crate and whatever you do, don't make a sound." The smugglers are panicking, they wouldn't check the crate.
"Ok, but promise me that you'll bring Lucas back safely. for my son." The male blue and gold macaw said.
Blu nodded his head.
"WHERE ARE YOU, YOU BRAT!" The smugglers are getting desperate. This is a double edge sword. The smugglers aren't thinking straight but they'll probably shoot at the slightest chance something was off.
Blu needs to be more careful. If he gets caught, so will the blue and gold macaw family.
He found the last cage but a smuggler is guarding the area, holding a hunting rifle. Blu now knows that the smugglers aren't afraid of killing their catches. Blu saw an bucket.
He flew up towards the bucket handle and using his talons, threw the bucket to the other side of the ship.
"There you are!"
The smugglers had successfully taken the bait. Blu hopes that he'll stay distracted for a long time.
When Blu got close to the cage, he heard sobbing.
He was close to the bars and what he saw shocked him.
It was a spix's macaw chick.
"Hey." Blu needed to comfort the chick. It was ripped apart from the comforting wings of their parents.
The sobbing stopped.
"What's your name?" Blu said.
"l-l -Lucas"
"Hey, Lucas, I'm going to get you out, ok."
"Will I see mama and papa again?"
"Yeah, yeah, just please stay quiet, I'm just going to open the lock, ok." Blu said trying to comfort the chick
Blu opened the lock.
Lucas hugged him.
"It's ok, it's ok, you're safe now."
This poor kid. It seemed like He had been crying for days.
But right now, they have to move.
"DAMN IT!" The smuggler returned to find another empty cage/
Blu and Lucas were hiding behind the cage.
The smuggler left the area.
"Can you fly?" Blu said to Lucas. Blu needed to know if he could fly.
"No." This made the trip back harder. Blu can fly but Lucas couldn't. Right now, Blu didn't want Lucas to think he just abandoned him.
They have to be extra careful.
They're halfway through the ship. Blu could see that Lucas was terrified, who wouldn't? Imagine only being a Chick and just waking up to not see your parents anywhere and seeing People who wanted to sell you. Blu had been there before. Now that he think about it, Lucas looked familiar. Blu had a sense of Deja vu looking at Lucas but he couldn't point his wing on why.
He'll think about it later.
Right now they have to move.
"Lucas!" The gold and blue macaw family said out loud. The family hugged Lucas.
"We have to go." Blu hated doing this but he's pretty sure the smugglers just heard them.
"Ready to go?" The male gold and blue macaw said to Lucas.
"Yes." Lucas muttered.
"Hop on." The female picked Lucas up.
Lucas got into the female's back.
The family flew.
Blu readied himself.
"DAMN, RATS!" Blu stopped himself and saw the smuggler aiming his rifle at the family.
Blu flew and scratched and bit at the smuggler's arm. The smuggler screamed.
"Stupid bird!" The smuggler slapped him.
Blu hit the ground hard.
"God DAMN IT!"
Blu saw the family leaving.
Blu gave a smirk before Darkness embraced him again.
Blu waited. and waited. Waited for an opportunity to escape the cage.
The smugglers didn't know it was him who opened the cages, so the cage still had a bolt lock on it. The only problem was they were around the cage at all times. They wanted to make sure the "stowaway" didn't get their remaining prize.
"Hold it, Licenses and identification, please." Blu heard a coast guard.
"Right here, officer" the smuggler said
"I want everyone's licenses and identification." the guard demanded.
The smugglers left.
Now was his chance. He opened the door and flew away from the boat. Blu isn't sticking around. He had to go back to his family.
Blu had lost count on how many days went by. His wings were begging him to stop. His throat demanding water, his stomach poking him with the knife of hunger. Blu can't stop. He can't abandon his family. He promised them he won't leave them behind.
Ocean. That was all Blu could see right now.
Ocean.
He looked straight ahead.
He smiled. Copacabana beach was up ahead.
He increased his speed.
He winced in pain. His wings gave up on him
Like the Greek myth, Icarus, Blu fell down.
Blu screamed as the water came closer to view.
He plummeted into the ocean.
Blu's feathers weren't drenched with water but the water was filling up his lungs.
He swam up, gasped for breath but the waves forced him back down.
He kept fighting but every time he got to the surface, the unforgiven waves forced him back down.
Blu's vision was getting blurry.
Blu couldn't breathe.
Blu's mind went blank as his body went deeper into the water.
Falling.
Blu was slowing falling.
Blu finally hit the ground but he didn't feel pain.
Blu felt small.
He opened his eyes, squinting them as Light overwhelmed his eyesight.
After a couple of minutes, he could finally see without constricting his eyes.
Light. Light was everywhere.
Blu heard a voice.
"Blu!" He heard someone say in a motherly voice
"Mamma" Blu heard himself say in a much younger voice.
Blu's mother walked towards her son. Her body seemed to glisten, her chocolate eyes sparkled with joy as she saw her son.
The son she spent little time with, but so much time trying to find.
Mother and son reunited.
Blu ran towards his mother and hugged her.
Tears fell down as Blu hugged his mom. His mother used her wings to caress Blu's head and back.
Maria wanted to spend more time with her son but They needed him.
"They need you."
"What?" Blu said, confused.
"They need you, Blu," Maria said, tears falling down. It hurts. Hurts that she couldn't spend more time with her son but his family needed him.
"But I'm not ready to go." Blu's tears fell down harder as he hugged his mom even hardly
A vortex appeared.
"I'm not ready to go!"
"Please don't repeat the mistake that me and your father made."
"I'm not ready to go, Mom!" he gripped even harder as the vortex picked up speed
"I love you. Mommy loves you!" Maria tearfully said to her son.
The vortex ripped Blu away from his mom.
"MOMMA!"
"I love you." Blu heard his mother before he once again fell.
"Moma. moma. Moma, don't go. Don't leave me" That was all Blu could hear in his thoughts.
Blu gasped as he coughed out water from his lungs.
He survived.
Blu survived!
How did he survive?
Blu can figure that out later, right now he has to make it towards the sanctuary.
He checked his wings.
they look ok but they stopped working mid flight and he doesn't want to risk possibly damaging them even more.
So he'll have to walk. Good thing he couldn't fly for 15 years.
He started walking.
He made a pit stop at the fruit market, he devoured Fruit after fruit, Blu doesn't know how long it's been since he ate. He didn't care about parasitic worms, he only cared about satisfying his hunger. After eating what Blu assumed was 20-50 fruits, he started walking towards the sanctuary.
Blu's talons were getting tired but he had to keep going.
It's currently night-time in Rio de janeiro. Meaning he could get hit by a car due to how dark his blue feathers are. He still kept going despite the risk.
He heard a car stop.
Blu turned around and relief overcame him.
The car was a jeep showing the blu bird sanctuary logo.
"Is that Blu?"
"It's Blu!"
They picked him up and put him in a cage.
It's over.
He can finally see his family again.
He couldn't sleep for what seemed like forever when he started walking or flying back to Rio.
Blu could finally rest his eyes in peace.
Blu had finally woke up from his Coma.
Blu gasped as memories of the harpy attack replayed again. Pain erupted as soon as he gasped. Blu saw a machine on top of him.
"Blu!" He heard Jewel gasp.
"Jewel?"
"I'm here, Blu. I'm right here."
Blu looked around and saw Carla.
"Where's Bia and Tiago?" Blu breathing abruptly stopped.
"They're in the fake jungle." Relief washed over him like a wave.
Blu looked around and saw Maria.
Maria smiled as her son had survived.
"Blu?"
Blu turned his head and looked at his mate.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm ok." Jewel thankfully didn't push any further.
Blu was just glad that his family was ok. They're going to make it through this.
The only one that can complete their family was Carla.
I'll admit, when making the reuniting of Blu and his mother, I teared up a lot. Also professor ass spiders. I do like your ideas but I don't think my writing skills aren't in that level to make it work. aside from that, we're nearly the end, if things go as plan, there will only be 4 chapters left. until then, See you when I make chapter 10.
