Welcome back to possibly the final chapters of this fanfic. Now, I should probably this would be the only chapter to not have a name in it. The reason why is because I wanted to show the struggles of Carla's coma a bit more as well as Tiago overcoming his guilt. Anyway, lets get to the chapter. (Original made by professor ass spiders. Rio is owned by 20th century fox/Fox animation)

A month had passed after Blu recovered from his coma. After multiple surgeries to remove the remaining pieces of bone from his lungs, Blu is expected to make a full recovery.

Although the doctors do tell him to not fly long distances. It was worth it to see his children.

Turns out, staying in the water for hours is a bad idea. Tiago learned that the hard way.

Blu was glad that he didn't have that machine holding him down anymore but we can celebrate his freedom once Tiago isn't sick.

"Tiago, please eat your vitamins." Blu said, his talons holding a spoon filled with a purplish liquid. If Linda could see this, she'll probably laugh.

"But I'm not si-" Tiago tried to say but He sneezed loudly.

"You sure?" Blu said grinning, as he playfully teased his son.

"I'm no-" Tiago tried to say again but he went into a coughing fit. Tiago gave up at this point.

"Ok, i might be sick."

Blu shook his head in amusement. He lost count on how many times he tried the same thing on Linda.

Tiago Quickly gulped down the liquid, resisting the urge to gag from the bitter taste.

"Come on, Buddy, Let's get you to Bed." Blu said after Tiago finished gulping down his vitamins.

They walked to The hollow.

They're still at the fake Jungle but Blu mentioned to the family that tomorrow, the family can finally go back to the nest box they call home.

Bia and Jewel were already asleep.

Blu tugged Tiago in.

"Goodnight, Tiago."

"Goodnight, Dad…" Tiago said as he rested his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Blu smiles as he looked at his family. He laid down and looked at the Roof of the hollow.

He was happy that everyone was slowly recovering from the Attack that almost killed them.

Blu's mood changed into a somber one as his eyes looked downed.

Everyone except Carla.

His daughter.

His flesh and blood was almost killed in one of the more sadistic ways a harpy could end your life.

Yes, being eaten alive is a bad way to die but being slowly crushed was worse.

Imagine you were just roaming around the jungle, minding your business. As you are going back to your hollow, a shadow laps over you and suddenly you feel Trapped by what seemed to be halls. Then the halls slowly close in on you. You hear your bones breaking from the pressure, the pain of bones sticking out, you can hear yourself begging for death but your begging is replaced by screams of agony. You struggle to breath as Your ribcage punctures your lungs, suffocating you with blood, But the pressure continues. Your vision gets blurry as the brain loses oxygen but you can still feel the pain. Your bones keep breaking till finally, the walls finally clutches you, Ending your suffering.

If Rafael and the other birds didn't force the harpies off, Carla would have Died.

She's still alive, just in a coma. Blu is right now glad his family are the last spix macaws on earth.

They won't pull the plug on Carla. Blu is thankful for that right now. Now, Carla has to fight. Fight to get back home. Fight to avoid the traps her conscience will undoubtedly set for her, Just like it did for Him.

Blu's eyes are getting heavier.

Blu doesn't believe in gods or divine intervention but he wants Carla to survive this.
"Please make sure Carla makes it ok." Blu said before he drifted off to sleep.

"I will, Lucas."

Day's had passed.

The family are finally back home.

"KIDS, FOOD!" Jewel yelled out loud.

Bia and Tiago rushed out of their rooms to eat their food. Tiago wasn't sick anymore, so he could be around Jewel and Bia without getting them sick.
Bia was eating A Mango when she noticed something.

"Where's Dad?" Bia said.

"He's with Carla." Jewel said. This became a routine. Blu would wake up, tell Jewel that he would be with Carla and he would stay there for hours. Jewel knew he was hoping that she would just wake up by just being there with her. Jewel knew better, This would take time for Carla to recover.

If she even recovers.

It was midnight. Jewel had just finished Tugging Tiago.

Tiago twisted and turned as He was having another nightmare.

Carla was still screaming in pain and Tiago stood there watching her being crushed by the male harpy. Taigo's body wasn't moving.

Carla was still being crushed.

Tiago had to do something. He decided to yell at the harpy. The harpy noticed him before, so it should do the same here. Tiago is risking his life but He wants Carla to live.

"I'm right here!" He yelled at the harpy.

The harpy looked at him. It didn't go after him.

Instead, he squeezed his talon.

Carla's cries of pain were silenced by a sickening crunch.

Tiago's breathing stopped. Did he just kill his sister.

The harpy dropped Carla.

Tears formed as Tiago walked towards his sister's body.

Tiago stared at the body. Blood covering his feathers.

"Carla, please wake up!" Tiago said, hoping that Carla wasn't dead.

"Come on, Carla, Wake up! Wake up!" Tears Dropping from Tiago's eyes.

"No,no,no,no,no,no,no, Please get up!"

"Get up!"

Tears were still dropping.

The harpy was still there.

"Why. Why!" Tiago wanted to know why he did it.

The harpy looked at him.

The harpy left him.

Carla was dead. Dead because of him.

"No!" Tiago screamed.

He was back at the house.

Which means Carla was fine.

"It was a dream." Tiago tried to convince himself.

It was all a dream.

Right?

Tiago looked around in fear.

"You watched me die."

Tiago Stopped breathing.

He slowly Turned around.

Carla was there, But she was mutilated.

Her Wounds were worse than Jewel and Bia.

Her left eye socket was crushed, showing only an empty hole where her eye would be. Carla's right eye was sticking out, dangling around her face. Bits of skull were poking out, Tiago can see bits of her brain through the cracks of her skull. Her Lower mandible curled up towards the top mandible, seemingly stabbing the top.

Cara's chest seemed to implode on itself as Tiago could faintly see Ribs poking out of her back. Tiago could see Carla's cervical Vertebrae sticking out of her back. Carla's wings and Talons had bones sticking out.

Tiago looked away from the gruesome sight.

"Don't you dare look away from me!" Carla said with pure hatred.

"Look at what you did to me!"

"I'm sor-" Tiago tried to say but Carla interrupted.

"Really! You're sorry now. Are you apologizing now because you saw what you did to me!"

"You did this to me!"

Carla was getting angry.
Tiago couldn't move.

"You watched while I was dying. You watched me being crushed. Did you know the pain I felt every second you stood there!"

Tears were forming in Tiago's eyes.

"You're a horrible brother." Carla couldn't stand being near Tiago any longer.

"Wait." Tiago said

Carla kept walking away from me.

"No, Wait!"

Carla kept walking.

"Come back!"

Carla left the hollow.

"COME BACK!"

Tiago slumped down, Tears falling down.

Jewel and Blu barge into his room, Concern written all over their faces

"I'm sorry" Tiago repeated those words.

He deserved the hate filled words that came from Carla.

Still doesn't make it any less painful to hear.

Yep, Ghost Carla finally made an appearance, I'll admit Carla took a longer time trying to figure what her wounds might have look like, cause if you read the original Orphaned fanfic, you'll know she was crushed by the harpy's talons and in chapter 2, the text said that Carla was mutilated differently compared to the other ghosts. Hopefully I managed to captured what she might have looked like in Orphaned.

ghost Carla would be the guilt Tiago has due to watching her Being crushed. But I think I made this bottom authors note too long.

I'll see you when I finish the next chapter.
