Welcome back to part 2 of Carla's coma. Now, i should probably tell you that this chapter will get confusing. you'll see why. no bottom authors note, this time (original made by Professor Ass spiders. Rio is owned by 2oth century fox/Fox animation.)
Tiago decided to stay in the fake jungle.
He wanted to be the first to see Carla wake up, he told his parents.
Really, he couldn't stand the fact that Carla's box was lifeless.
His parents only agreed to let him stay if Tulio left a window for Tiago to leave or for them to pick up their son.
When Tulio saw Blu's paper about the condition, he agreed immediately.
Tiago had no idea but he thinks it might be the heart monitor.
So here he is again, in the fake jungle.
Carla appeared again, she always appears when Tiago's alone.
"Why are you still here!" Carla said with hatred. She told him many times that she didn't need help from the bird that did nothing to prevent her death.
Tiago stayed silent.
"Answer me!"
Tiago still stayed silent.
Carla was getting even more pissed off.
"Answer me! Tell me why are you still here! Venom was seeping from her words.
Tiago was still silent
"Fine! Ignore me, just like how you ignored my cries for help!"
When Tiago turned around, Carla was gone.
Tiago hated doing that but it was the only way to make Carla leave.
He knocked at the metal door, Linda opened the door and let Tiago perched on her finger.
Linda was always there for him. took care of him when his parents were still in their coma.
Made sure that Tiago wasn't alone.
Linda was always there for him, so why wasn't he there to help Carla?
Linda left the room, leaving the door open.
Linda always made sure to give Tiago space.
He looked at Carla. Tiago stood there asking in his head why did he stand there?
Carla was being tortured, had to watch her bones break, she screamed in agony and Tiago stood there.
His thoughts were interrupted when he looked up at the heart monitor.
Tiago's heart stopped.
The heart monitor showed Carla's pulse slowing down.
Carla was dying!
Without thinking, He left the room and flew towards Tulio's office.
Tulio was doing paperwork when Taigo flew towards his shoulder and started screeching at him.
Tulio immediately realized something was wrong.
"Tiago, what's wrong?" Tulio said
Tiago used his beak to grab a pencil and drew lines going up and down on the document Tulio was working on.
It took Tulio a few seconds to realize what exactly was the drawing and the message behind it.
"Carla!" Tulio said out loud.
Within a second, Tulio put on his medical coat and told the other doctors that Carla was in danger.
Tiago watched, doing nothing but stare at Tulio and the running doctors.
She was going to die!
Carla struggled to get out of the monster's grip.
The monster moved, the beak forming a smile as it enjoyed her struggle.
Before the monster could take a bite out of Carla, it was pushed back by an unknown force.
Carla got up and saw the monster thrashing at nothing, looking as if it was trying to catch a fly.
Using this opportunity, Carla ran and kept running until she saw a window.
She flew towards the window and escaped into the jungle.
Tiago did nothing again.
Tiago had tears in his eyes. He did nothing, his sister was dying and he did nothing.
"Tiago?"
Tiago turned around to see the mutilated body of his father.
Blu's chest was scrunched up due to the talons of the harpy. His face had lacerations all over his face. Larger lacerations covered his entire body. His right wing was gone entirely, Nerves dangling down as bones weren't there. His right leg was dislocated and was missing talons.
Tiago didn't have a reaction this time, he'd gotten used to seeing their sickening wounds.
"I know I look like a corpse but I think you need a break from Carla." Usually, he wouldn't just reveal himself but right now, he needed to comfort his son.
"She hates me." Tiago said as he looked down.
"She just needs more time." Blu said to Tiago.
"We all did." Blu said quietly to himself.
Tiago looked at him, thinking he heard his father say something but he dropped it.
"I did nothing"
"Tiag-"
"I did nothing again. I just stood there."
Tears were forming in Tiago's eyes again.
"Tiago, There wasn't nothing you could've done."
"I should've done something."
"Tiago, you saved her life."
"But I did nothing."
"Tiago, you didn't do nothing, you saved your sister."
"What do you mean? I watched her while she screamed. I stood there and did nothing, if It haven't see me, She woul-" Tiago couldn't finish his sentence. Tears swelling up as his emotions got the better of him.
"I wasn't talking about the harpies." Blu finally said after letting Tiago finish.
Tiago stood there, dumbstruck then it finally clicked in his head.
"She would've died, if you didn't alert Tulio about her condition."
Tiago stood there looking at his father.
"Carla's vitals are stable."
Tiago looked at the door, hearing a doctor talking about Carla.
When he looked back to see his father, he was gone.
Tiago realized his father was right. He saved Carla, He moved out of the room and managed to alert Tulio on time.
"Tiago, There's some good news. Carla's going to make it."
Tulio isn't telling Tiago that they had to resuscitate her by doing cpr.
Tiago saved Carla. Saved his sister.
Carla is alive. Alive because of him.
The family heard the news. To say they were devastated would be an understatement.
From what they heard, They recovered without any complications. Hearing Carla nearly died and only survived because Tiago was there meant she's likely to not survive her Coma.
Jewel held a photo of her family. She still hates humans but she was open to immortalizing memories.
Tears were dropping from Jewel's eyes, staining the picture
Why?
She was so close to getting her family back.
Was she fated to always lose someone she loved?
Her mother died and now Carla, her daughter is going to die as well and Jewel was helpless to save them both.
Jewel was helpless to save her mom and she's helpless to save her daughter.
The jungle was dead. There were no birds, no snakes, no animals. Nothing but silence.
She lost count on how many days it's been since she escaped the sanctuary.
Currently, she's using the river to bathe, staying near the shore so she could leave easier.
It was the only way to relax her mind.
After finishing her bath, she decided to head back.
She turned around and her heart stopped.
The monster was here.
Carla tried to fly away but the monster's talons pinned her towards the river, Water blocking her view.
She couldn't breathe. Water filled her lungs just like how her Blood did the same.
Carla felt the talons leaving. She immediately reached the surface, coughing out water.
She saw the monster looking around. Why did it let her go?
Carla walked away from the monster but it ran towards her, staring her down.
That's when Carla noticed something.
The monster's eyes were destroyed, dried tears of blood can be seen from the monster.
Carla stood still and held her breath.
The monster roared at her but she didn't move a muscle.
The monster left her alone, thinking she was a rock.
She breathed a sigh of relief.
Carla's eyes widened as she realized what she did. The monster didn't hear her.
Meaning it's hearing was limited.
After what seemed like an eternity, The monster left.
Carla flew up towards her family's house. The house was badly damaged like a tiger somehow climbed up to the house and used it as a toy. There were no bodies, so her siblings are safe.
It was the only safe haven she had.
Carla went towards her parent's box. Out of all of the boxes they had, this box seemingly escaped unscathed.
She walked and saw Another bird in the room.
She was about to run when she heard the bird say something.
"I'm not here to hurt you." He said.
Carla's instinct told her to trust him, so she walked towards the bird.
An awkward silence came between them, either of them speaking.
Carla used this time to look at the bird more clearly. The bird looked like his father, only his eyes were Dark green instead of chocolate.
The bird decided to speak.
"You're in a coma."
"What?" What did the bird mean in a coma?
"What you're experiencing right now, is your head trying to wake you up."
"Then how are you here?" Carla wanted to know.
"Me and my mate want to make sure that you get out of this trap alive."
"So, do you trust me?" He asked just like her dad.
After thinking about it, Carla answered.
"Yes." Carla just wants to see her family again.
"Follow me."
Carla followed the bird.
"What's your name?" Carla wanted to know the bird's name.
"Francisco."
They didn't encounter the monster.
Francisco guided Carla to His hollow.
His mate already waiting.
"You're back!" She said with relief.
"Who's that you got there?"
"Maria, I want you to meet Carla."
Carla walked forward towards Maria.
Maria looked like her mother if her eyes were the same as blu's.
"Oh poor baby, you must be tired."
Carla couldn't really sleep inside her family's house, It was too quiet compared to how lively it was with her siblings.
"Come, I think you should get some rest."
Carla nodded with no hesitation.
She saw a nest filled with moss and leaves. She rested her body in the nest, The sandman taking her almost immediately as she closed her eyes.
