I cleared my throat causing one of the men behind the counter to look up at me, before slowly walking towards me.
I cleared my throat, "Hi, I'm here to pick up a prescription." I said.
"Name?" The man in a white lab coat asked me.
"Ariana Barton." I replied, biting my lip nervously.
"Birthday?" He asked, without looking away from the screen as he clicked on the keyboard in front of him.
"December 24, 1993." I replied, staring blankly at the counter.
The man nodded before turning and reaching back for two bags that were in the basket. "The doctor called and told us to add prenatals for ten days. After that you'll need some from your ob/gyn." He said.
"Thank you." I replied, feeling relieved.
"No problem. Just put your signature. There and there and your initials there, and you'll be good to go." He said.
I nodded bending down to sign my name across the screen, before signing my initials where I needed to.
He handed me the bags, "Have a great day." He said.
"You too." I murmured before turning and heading towards the exit.
I stopped to look at the baby section, feeling my stomach swirl with nerves as I passed each item.
I could feel myself begin to panic for a moment before I forced myself to calm down, and continued to walk out of the building.
Bucky met me by the door, and we both walked back to the car.
When we reached the car, we stood by the back of it unsure, with a sigh I got back into the passenger's seat, and reached for the bags in Bucky's hand.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
I shook my head as I clenched my fist on my stomach trying not to throw up again.
"I need to take my iron, folic acid…" I murmured as I twisted the juice bottle cap off before taking the four bottles out.
"I thought you were only taking three things… what's the other one for?" He asked, reaching for it.
I snatched the bottle from his grasp before dropping the three pills into my mouth, and drinking half of the juice.
"They're for nausea and dizziness." I replied, after recapping the bottle of juice.
"Ah… gotcha." He said as he slowly backed out of the parking spot and drove onto the street. "So, Clint's or…?" He asked as he waited for the light to turn green.
"Back to the apartment, I'll go to Clint's on Wednesday." I muttered, tiredly.
"Awesome." He replied, smiling.
For the rest of the drive home, I closed my eyes and leaned my head back onto the headrest.
"So, how was your trip?" He asked me, as he turned and drove into the underground garage.
"Ugh. Chaotic." I grumbled, shaking my head and looking out the window.
He chuckled, shaking his head before licking his lips, "Why?" He asked, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Well, the first week, the client decided to change his mind on the original amount we agreed. We settled by adding an additional two hundred grand to the original amount. Then the following week the bastard had the audacity to sneak in a fucking loop hole that would reward them two to four million upon signing, which meant we would lose all that money upon signing… anyways they had a choice to sign on the original contract or we walked… they signed, eventually." I muttered with a shrug.
"So, you basically saved Tony's ass again?" He asked amused as he parked between his car and motorcycle.
"In a roundabout way. I guess." I muttered, dropping the bag of medicine into my bag before climbing out.
I then walked to the other side and opened the car before pulling out my luggage.
"Here you take this, and let me take that." He said handing me the bag full of other things he bought and taking my luggage.
"Ugh. Ever the gentleman…" I muttered, sarcastically with an eye roll, before taking the bag.
"Hey not a lot of guys do this. So, be grateful I still do it." He snipped, bending down.
I smacked his ass with the bag before taking off towards the elevator.
"It's like you don't want to walk tomorrow…" He grumbled, closing the door and locking the car.
I scoffed, before laughing at his comment. "Yeah, just because we're talking again, doesn't mean I'm going to let you fuck me. We have a long way to go before that happens again. So, don't even think about it…" I warned him.
He sighed, "You're completely right. We should talk about what happened." He said as the elevator reached the penthouse.
I nodded, before grabbing my luggage bag and taking it up the stairs. " We do. However, before we do, I'm going to shower all the travel germs off of me. I'll be back later." I muttered as I marched up the stairs.
