I could feel the oncoming headache coming as we sat there in silence. The worry I felt increasing by the minute.
"What's wrong, Bunny?" He asked me quietly.
I swallowed thickly, trying to blink away the tears that began to fill my eyes. "We basically cheated on each other… For seven years… oh my gosh, I'm a horrible wife…!" I whispered, leaning heavily into his side.
"Technically we didn't know we were married… Besides, I think this is one of those rare cases that falls under excusable. " He whispered back amused, sighing when he realized I wasn't smiling with him, as he wrapped his arm around me.
"No, it doesn't but thank you for trying… Oh my goodness...I was practically engaged to another man…!" I cried out, dropping my head onto his chest.
Though Spencer and I never really did much. We would kiss and hold hands but that was it.
We both had separate bedrooms and bathrooms. I slept upstairs and he slept downstairs. He didn't like sleeping in the same room, and I preferred to have my privacy.
We basically lived together for a little over a year, but hardly hung out.
I soon realized we were together for convenience, him more than me. The question is, why hadn't I seen it before?
Probably because I was always traveling with Tony and Pepper to Washington D.C, and other parts of the country, along with outside of the country most of the time, while he worked in level two in accounting.
I always thought I'd end up marrying him, that's why I asked him to move in with me. But I realized that was a mistake on my part.
I never thought he would grow tired of waiting and end up cheating on me, though in the long run, it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened. Because he always hated my friendship with Bucky, it was a constant fight topic for us.
Stupidity and naivety on my part I guess. I should have lived alone longer.
"Nothing ever happened between Spencer and me…" I finally said, looking up at him.
He laughed softly, kissing my forehead, before replying quietly. "I know. You told me the night we conceived the baby. Plus you were a virgin when we first made love…" he replied amused.
"Worst case scenario?" I asked, pursing my lips as I looked up at him.
"I mean, I didn't sleep with anyone if that's what you're asking. I did go out on a few dates that Sam set up, but the girls were always snotty and expected to be pampered. That got annoying really fast, so I would pay for the food and get the hell out of there as soon as I got the chance. After the first handful, I told Sam to stop trying to set me up. Then, I only hung out with Steve and Sam, most of the time…" he replied shrugging.
"Hm. Good to know." I murmured.
"What about you?" He asked.
I wrinkled my nose. "Well, I didn't sleep with Spencer but I did kiss him, and it only was like three or four times maybe a bit more throughout our entire relationship." I replied.
"Four times? Now that I don't believe..." He scoffed, as he threaded his fingers through mine.
I frowned, leaning away to look up at him. "Why in the hell not?" I asked, confused.
"Because, I want to kiss you everytime I look at you. Just watching you smile, or hearing you laugh makes me want to kiss the living shit out of you." He replied honestly.
"Well, all Spencer and I ever did was fight so… no. Kissing was never on the table. But the urge to punch him in the face, totally was, daily." I snipped.
I heard him begin to chuckle as I shook my head grimacing.
"Bunny, your ex boyfriend is a complete tool, and an idiot. But don't worry though, I'm neither of those things… I know what I have in front of me and I tend to appreciate every moment we have together." He whispered, before leaning towards me and kissing me fervently.
I pulled away amused, before leaning in to peck his lips. As he pulled me closer to his body, causing me to sigh in content.
"Are you two done groping each other yet?" Yelena asks, disgusted.
"Give me a minute..." I replied, holding up a finger up to her before turning back to Bucky and kissing him harder.
When I pulled away, Bucky gave a small gasp before I turned back to Yelena and smiled sweetly at her.
"Ok, now what do you need, Lenny?" I asked Yelena.
"I need a ride to the store. My mother wants to make you some soup… secret family recipe, and Natasha ran out of a few ingredients for it… So, she's sending me to get them… Because I apparently don't have anything better to do…" she said, with an eye roll.
I turned to Bucky, who nodded in response, "No worries, we'll take you… since there's nothing better to do." I said as we both got up.
"Great...Let me just go grab my things and I'll meet you up front." She said, rushing back into the house.
Bucky snorted amused as she disappeared through the door.
"Why are you laughing now?" I asked, frowning as I smacked his chest with my hand.
"She's freaking hilarious. I forgot how amusing she is…" He replied, shaking his head.
"I'll go grab my bag too. Did you bring my SUV or your car?" I asked.
"The SUV." He said, with a nod.
"Did you bring some extra clothes with you or do we need to go buy you something while we're out?" I asked him.
"Actually, I didn't think about packing clothes, I simply felt the sudden urge to be at your side, and basically just grabbed my wallet, phone and keys before I rushed over here." He replied with a shrug.
"So, we're going to buy you some things. Sounds good. Let's grab a snack and head out." I said as I walked into the house.
"No snack. Eat something here and then we'll leave, I'm not risking you getting sick on the way to the store." Bucky said.
"That was one time, let it go…" I muttered.
"Oh please, it was four times." Bucky scoffed.
"What?! No, it wasn't. Name the four times." I demanded, frowning at him.
"Let's see there was the day you got back from Monaco. Then when we went home after stopping at the pharmacy. Then there was the time we went to the doctors office, you know the day you smacked me for smacking me upside the head for asking questions… Oh, and after we walked into the grocery store and you smelled the fish next to the deli..." He listed on his fingers, smirking amused.
"James, stop making her feel bad." Melina chastised, smacking his arm as she handed me a bowl of fruit.
Bucky winced, rubbing the tender spot on his arm when Melina turned around causing me to laugh at him.
"Hurts doesn't it?" My brother asked, amused.
"She hits hard." Bucky groaned, as he went to sit down next to me, still rubbing his arm.
"What do you expect, she's our mother." Nat replied with an eye roll as Yelena walked in still arguing on the phone.
"So, all of the women in your family have bony hands? Great." Bucky muttered, as Melina passed by and smacked him upside the head.
"I could have warned you that was going to happen but I'm enjoying not having the attention on me for once. " My brother said, grinning at him as he took a sip of his coffee.
Nat sighed before smacking him upside the head. "That's enough, Barton." She muttered trying to sit a wiggling Aubrey in her highchair. "Aubs, you gotta sit down to eat, принцесса." She muttered, forcefully. (Princess)
"No! No! No!" Aubrey cried, shaking her head from side to side.
Clint sighed, rolling his eyes at Nat before offering his arms out. Nat looked at him, debousily.
"Just let him do it, Natasha. The poor girl wants her отец." Alexei said as he sat on the other side of the room. (Father)
"She's being a brat…" Nat muttered before handing Aubrey to Clint.
I smiled, watching the interaction, as Bucky pulled me into his side, and kissed my forehead. "I can't wait to do that with our kid…" he whispered.
I smiled up at him nodding, as Melina began to bring out the food.
"Yelena Alina Romanova!" Melina called out.
Yelena's head peeked out from behind the wall, eyeing her mother for a moment before rushing into the room.
"Oy. Full name, mama? What have I done now?" She asked, her Russian accent thickening.
"Not a thing. Yet. Now sit your зад down before you, do, get in trouble." Melina ordered as she set down a bowl of cut up fruit in front of me. (Ass)
I swallowed thickly as I looked down at the fruit. Feeling everyone's eyes on me as I stared.
"Hey, you don't have to get everything. Just eat what you can." My brother said assuringly, before turning to look at everyone else. "Stop staring at my sister, you're making her nervous." He ordered as Melina set down the last plate of food.
"Are you alright, Bunny?" I heard Bucky ask me as I slowly began to eat the mix of strawberries, cherries, oranges, kiwis and blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and honey dew melon.
I nodded, groaning as I bit into a juicy strawberry.
"I'm glad you're eating." Melina said smiling as she served everyone a large portion of food. "Would you like to eat some oatmeal?" She asked, offering me a bowl.
As she offered me the bowl I had already eaten a few bites of the fruit salad, and the sight and smell of the oatmeal caused my stomach to stir as bile rose up my throat, as I hurriedly pushed away from the table, and rushed out of the room, and towards the bathroom.
"Oh fuck! Throw it out! Throw the whole damn pot out!" Yelena cried out.
"Yelena Alina Romanova!" Melina yelled.
