I barely made it to the bathroom, dropping to my knees in front of the white porcelain bowl, before I began to throw up for what felt like an eternity.
By the time I was done, my stomach hurt, my throat burned and my knees felt weak.
I barely managed to flush the toilet, and prop myself onto the wall, as the door opened.
Bucky rushed in, closing the door behind himself, with his head shaking in disbelief.
"Something happen?" I asked hoarsely.
"Yelena threw out the entire pot of oatmeal, and she and Melina began to argue, in Russian, about something or other…" He muttered as he lifted me off the ground and sat me down on the bathroom counter.
"I know, I heard her screaming as I ran in here…" I muttered, closing my eyes as I tried to keep my stomach from churning.
He nodded as he grabbed a clean washcloth and ran it under the cool water, before turning towards me, and running the cloth over my forehead. "How are you feeling?" He asked, looking at me, concerned.
I sighed and turned to rinse out my mouth. "Much better now…" I whispered as he smiled at me sadly.
"I wish I could make you feel better." He whispered as he finished wiping my face.
"It'll be over soon, the books say the first trimester is always the hardest… I somehow doubt that but okay…" I grumbled.
"Yeah, the throwing up should stop in a few weeks, I believe…" Bucky replied, as he helped me off the counter. "Are you sure you want to go to the store? It's okay if you don't feel well, Clint said he and Nat can take Yelena." He said.
"And stay here? Yeah. No, thank you. I would rather get some fresh air than stay confined in this room…" I sniped as we walked out of the bathroom.
He chuckled, quietly following me out of the bathroom, and towards the room we slept in.
"Do you need anything?" He asked, sitting down next to me on the bed.
"A new family would be great." I murmured as I laid back.
My response caused him to chuckle as I pouted up at him.
"You don't mean that." He replied, as he smiled.
The dimples in his cheek, showing as he leaned back laying next to me.
I groaned, "Of course I don't. I do need them to calm down about the pregnancy, they're starting to stress me out…" I mumbled.
He smiled as he rotated his body, turning to face me, propping his head up with his elbow. "Bunny, they're just excited about the pregnancy..." He replied, as he placed his hand on my small bump on my stomach.
I 'hmm'd, allowing him to slowly move his hand under my sweater. "Excited. Well, that's one way to describe it .." I deadpanned.
He chuckled again, shaking his head at me before leaning down to kiss me. "Come on, Button, you can't deny that it's cute. This is the first niece or nephew on both sides of our family. Let them have their fun. Besides it's only for the holidays… I promise, once all the holidays are over, we'll go somewhere just you, me, and the kid." He whispered against my lips.
I sighed, "As great as that sounds, After next week, I have to go back to Monaco to finish the proceedings we have going on." I replied.
"What? No. Absolutely not! Arianna traveling in your condition… flying… that could be risky for you and the baby." He said as he leaned away to look at me.
"Well, what am I supposed to do? I'm Tony's attorney. I have to go." I replied.
"I'll talk to him." He replied as he sat up and pulled out his phone.
I sighed, wanting to stop him but if I was being honest with myself, traveling a lot did sound tiring. Especially at the moment.
I couldn't help watching him as he slid his finger across the screen, before pulling it up to his ear.
I almost wanted to reach up to rub his shoulders, as I watched them tense.
"Stark? Hey. I need to talk to you about something."
"Put it on speaker, Bubsy." I whispered, smirking at his responding smile.
He rolled his eyes and shook his head before moving the phone away from his ear and pressing the screen with an eye roll.
"Yeah? What's going on, Barnes?" Tony's voice rang.
"Arianna just told me you expect her to fly back to Monaco… I'm concerned about her flying, especially in her condition…" Bucky said, calmly.
"Oh right, about that, I had Paul go ahead with Reuben after she called me this morning and gave me the news. Congratulations, by the way. Also, Happy managed to acquire the documents she asked for, early this morning. They should arrive sometime within the next two weeks to your apartment. It's legal and binding. You two are, in fact, married." Tony informed us.
Bucky and I exchanged a knowing look before nodding in response.
"Alright, that's good to know… Going back to what I called you for. Is there any way you can travel without her?" Bucky asked him.
I bit back a smile as his hand landed on my thigh and began to lightly rub up and down.
"We can. However, she is a very valuable member to me and of my company, so uh, if we— happen to need her — we'll uh, Skype or something. There's no need for her to worry about traveling until she gets back from her maternity leave. That's three months after the kid is born, by the way. Until then don't even bother coming into the office. I know you're listening, Barton." Tony said, causing me to laugh.
"Oh but I'll miss seeing your face." I remarked, sarcastically .
"Now, now, that's what Skype is for. Emails, phone calls, you get the picture. No need for worries. I will be sending you a few things, though, I'll need you to look over. Can you do that for me? You would be doing me a huge favor if you did." He said.
I sighed, shaking my head as I rolled my eyes at him. "Send them over. Just don't expect me to check them over anytime soon, Nat's family is over and we're at Clint's right now. Then on Friday we're heading to Bucky's parents house." I replied.
"It's fine, just get it back to me before the end of next week." Tony replied.
"Will do. Tell Pepper I said hi. I will be in touch as soon as those documents are looked over. Have a great and happy Thanksgiving." I said before pressing the red button on the screen.
"What? He was being an ass." I commented.
A sharp knock interrupted whatever Bucky was about to respond.
"Are you two decent?" Yelena asked as she walked into the room.
"No, you interrupted our sexy time." I deadpanned, causing Bucky to gasp before he began laughing under his breath.
"Ugh. I walked into that one…" She muttered, shaking her head at us.
"What do you need?" I asked, smirking at her grossed out face.
"A ride. To the store. To anywhere at this point. Andy says she'll be here around five. That's plenty of time to go where we need to go and come back." She finally said.
Bucky and I exchanged a brief look before I sighed and moved off the bed.
"What time is it, Bubs?" I asked as I bent over to grab my purse and jacket.
He looked down at his watch before looking back at me. "Just fifteen after ten." He replied, after rubbing his face tiredly.
I nodded as I slipped on my jacket, before grabbing my bag and walking out of the room with them right behind me.
I climbed into the passenger's side, wordlessly, sighing as I dropped my head onto the headrest. I ignored as Yelena swiftly climbed into the back seat, and Bucky into the driver's seat.
"So, where to first?" He asked us as he turned the car on.
"To the Target, I heard Ari say she wanted to go get you some clothes. That's our best bet unless you wish to go to Walmart." She replied, dryly.
"Which is closer to the grocery store?" He asked.
"I can get what's on my list in either store." She replied. "They're both superstores." She shrugged.
"Which is closer?" Bucky asked, eyeing me, concerned.
I felt his stare, as I tried to remain calm. Ignoring the fact that I was dizzy and began to feel cramps in my lower abdomen.
"Bunny? Is something wrong?" He finally asked, as he parked in the Target.
I tried to nod, only to wince as I felt a particularly strong cramp.
"I don't— I don't know. I feel like I'm getting cramps…" I whispered.
His eyes widened as he turned to Yelena. "Do you want to stay or go?" He asked her.
"Go. Take her to the hospital. I'll call Clint and Natasha." She said, without a second thought.
I gasped, wincing in pain, as I felt him through the car in reverse without another word.
Clenching my hands tightly as he and Yelena argued to which hospital would be the closest.
"Everything is going to be ok, Bunny." He whispered, reaching over to grab my hand as he drove.
Yelena chose to remain quiet on the ride over, probably out of fear that she would say something to upset me.
Bucky managed to arrive at the hospital within twenty minutes. Parking as close to the doors as possible.
As soon as he parked the car he helped me get out of the car, grabbing my bag before leading me towards the door with Yelena following closely behind.
"My wife is pregnant, and she is in a lot of pain. We don't know what is wrong." He explained as the nurse at the desk handed me a clipboard.
Surprise spread through me as I heard him call me his wife. Wincing as the cramps began to get worse.
"Ok, sir. We need you to fill that form out so we can get her help as fast as possible." The nurse calmly replied.
"But she's—" Bucky tried to argue only for her to shake her head. "Fill the form out." She firmly said.
Yelena yanked the clipboard from my grasp, quickly filling everything out before slamming it back on the desk. "There. Get her help now, before something happens to her and to my niece or nephew." She growled.
The nurse gapped at her, before printing out the white hospital band, and turning towards me. "You're left wrist please." She quietly said.
Wincing as I lifted it towards her. Bucky was practically carrying all my weight as she fastened the band around my wrist.
"I'm going to get this into the system, I will be back in a few minutes. Please take a seat." She quietly replied.
Bucky sighed as Yelena let out a growl, before slowly guiding me towards the chairs.
"I already called Nat and Clint, they're in their way, they're leaving the kids with my parents…" Yelena replied as she plopped down in the seat next to mine.
I nodded, slowly inhaling through my nose and exhaling through my mouth. "You need to calm the fuck down, Lenny. You scared the nurse half to death." I groaned.
She scoffed, shaking her head, "Oh please, if I didn't react like that your hubby would still be trying to get them to see you quickly." She scoffed, as she narrowed her eyes at the nurse. "A 'thank you' would be nice." She added dryly
"Thank you," Bucky replied in the same dry tone.
"Arianna Barton?" A male nurse called.
"You see?" Yelena whispered, smugly.
I groaned as I slowly got to my feet, with the help of Bucky, only for me to feel like my legs had grown weak and my eyes roll to the back of my head, everything going black the moment I did.
