Cool Party II
Chapter 2: The "Cool" Party
The next Day
It was Friday at PS 118 and the students were enjoying recess.
It was also the day of Courtney Gammelthorpe's party and only the cool kids were invited...one of them being Andy Shortman.
Andy had been talking to his best friend, Kiara Johanssen, who told him something that he did not like hearing.
"What do you mean she hasn't invited you yet?..."The blonde boy asked.
"I said that she didn't invite me..."Kiara said, her expression showing she wasn't surprised.
Andy was and he did not like this.
"But...the party is tonight..."Andy said.
"I know..."Kiara said, frowning.
Andy frowned too.
"So, Courtney hasn't invited you yet, huh?..."He said, frowning.
"Join the club..."Was heard.
Andy and Kiara turned around and saw some of their other friends...Adam, Sammy, Keisha and Freddy, and they looked upset about something.
"You guys too, huh?..."Kiara questioned.
"Yeah, none of us got invited..."Keisha muttered, frowning hard.
"None of you?..."Andy said, surprised.
"None of us..."Keisha said. "Word on the playground that the only ones invited are Nate, Rex IV, Bonnie, Maritza, Tyler, Steven, Claire, Peter and you are invited..."She added.
Andy didn't like this at all.
"She didn't invite any of them?!...but they are our friends!..."Andy thought, frowning hard as his friends were upset and voicing it.
"This is pretty darn insultin'...just how does she define geek anyway?!..."Sammy said, looking mad.
"I'm actually pretty mad about it, it hurts when a so-called friend does this..."Keisha said.
"Yeah, we got feelings too..."Freddy said.
"I bet Courtney thinks I'm a geek because I'm fat and I still like to play in the mud..."Adam shouted.
"I bet she thinks I'm a geek because I wear my big brother Reese's hoodie as a hand-me-down..."Keisha said as she pointed to her hoodie.
"I bet she thinks I'm a geek because of my big ears..."Freddy shouted, upset.
"Their not that big, Freddy..."Sammy said, wanting to calm him down.
"Thanks, Sammy but it doesn't change the fact that we still aren't invited..."Freddy muttered.
Andy heard this and got mad.
"Okay, this is so not cool!..."The blonde boy yelled, getting his friends attention. "I know that Courtney can be pretty weird some times but this isn't right. You guys are cool in my book..."He said as he frowned harder.
He then started walking and his friends got worried.
"Andy, where are you going?..."Kiara asked.
"To find Courtney and give her a piece of my mind!..."Andy said, still looking mad.
"This should be good..."Keisha said, knowing that Andy is mad right now.
"Wanna see this?..."Kiara asked, already planning on watching this.
"YEAH!..."The others said as they went to follow their friend, who no doubt, is about to give Miss Courtney Gammelthorpe a stern talking to.
With Courtney
Courtney was with Nate, making plans for tonight. Courtney was on her cell phone, taking care of some last minute party details while Nate wrote down notes.
"Yeah, that will be scones, beluga caviar and toast points..."Courtney said as she ordered the food for tonight.
Once she hung up, she told Nate to write it down.
However, the dark haired girl stopped and smiled when she saw someone heading her way.
"It's Andy...how's my hair?..."Courtney asked her friend/minion quickly.
"Nice as always..."Nate answered.
Courtney smiled as she watched the blonde boy approach her.
"Hey, Andy..."Courtney said in a flirty voice.
Andy just frowned harder.
"Don't "Hey, Andy" me...what's the deal, Courtney?..."Andy demanded.
"What do you mean?..."Courtney asked, wondering why he looked mad.
"I mean, why didn't you invite Kiara, Adam, Sammy, Freddy or Keisha?..."The blonde boy demanded.
Courtney heard this and shrugged.
"Oh...that...look, Andy...I already told you that this party is just for the cool kids and...well...they are geeks and-..."She was cut off when Andy glared harder at her.
"They are our friends...or at least, their MY friends..."Andy said, showing how upset he is. "I know you can be pretty snobby Courtney but how could you call them geeks?..."He demanded.
Courtney didn't like how he was looking at her, or that he called her "snobby" and tried to defend herself.
"Andy...it's nothing personal...it's just that...the most influential kids in town will be at my party and I need the right kind of people there and-..."Courtney was cut off again when Andy glared harder.
"You are not implying that my friends aren't good enough to go to your party?..."Andy said, daring her to finish that.
Courtney didn't like being talked to like this this, even if it's by her crush.
"I'm sorry Andy... but this is my first real party with total control on it and I want it to go perfectly..."She said, thinking it somehow explained everything.
Andy just narrowed his eyes more at that.
"If that's how you think, then you can take my name off your "cool list"..."Andy said.
"What are you saying?..."Courtney asked, sounding shocked.
"I'm saying that I'm not going to your party...see ya, Courtney..."Andy said as he walked away.
Courtney stood there agape, until it registered to her what just happened.
"W-Wait, Andy?! Come back! You can't just turn down my invitation!..."Courtney shouted.
"I just did!..."Andy shouted back, not turning around.
"But...but there will be gourmet food, music and the coolest kids in town..."Courtney insisted.
"I don't care...bye..."Andy said as he kept marching.
Courtney felt part of her heart break over the fact that the guy that she likes not only turned down her invitations, but now he looks like he doesn't want to be around her. However, Courtney is not used to being denied what she wants and got mad.
"Oh...oh whatever...I'll just have my party without him there...Nate...put Andy on the geek list!..."Courtney demanded.
"Are you sure, Courtney?..."Nate asked, since he knew that Courtney really liked Andy but the dark haired girl nodded.
"Yeah, this will make him sorry..."Courtney said as she made her minion cross Andy's name off the cool list and place him on the geek list.
Unknown to them, the entire argument had been witness by Kiara, Adam, Keisha, Freddy and Sammy. They looked pleased.
"Oh, Andy..."Kiara said, feeling happy that her friend defended them like that.
"That must have hurt her pride a lot..."Keisha said, smirking.
"Yeah..."The other's nodded as they went to join a fuming Andy.
"You okay, Andy?..."Kiara asked.
"Not really but I'll be fine..."Andy muttered.
"We saw what you did...thanks...for sticking up for us..."Keisha said, meaning it.
"Yeah, thanks..."Adam said.
"You guys are my friends, I'm not going to any so called "cool" party if you guys aren't there..."Andy said, meaning it.
Kiara smiled at that.
Andy is always the first to have his friend's back, no matter the situation.
"As cool as it was how you knocked her down a peg, it doesn't change the fact that we still ain't invited..."Sammy reminded.
The others realized and sighed but Andy got an idea.
"Aw, who cares about her party? I doubt it will be any fun...I mean...she invited Rex Smythe-Higgins IV of all people to it..."Andy pointed out, since he had a few encounters with the snobby rich boy himself and it wasn't any fun.
"Yeah, but we're still mad she didn't invite us...and I wish we can get back at her somehow..."Adam muttered.
"I think I have an idea..."Kiara said.
"What is it, Kiara?..."Andy asked.
"Courtney is all set on having a "cool" party and refuses to invite us...so, why don't we just throw our own party..."Kiara suggested.
Andy heard this and smiled.
"Yeah...that's a great idea...we can have it tonight...and unlike with Courtney's fancy tea party...everyone's invited..."Andy said.
"YEAH!..."His friends said.
Andy smiled and pulled out his phone. As much as he wanted to have this party, they needed permission and help. He quickly called his mother.
"Hey, Mom...listen...it turns out that Courtney didn't invite Kiara or our friends, so I'm not going to her party tonight...so I was wondering-..."
"You were wondering if you and your friends can throw your own party tonight, which will have everyone invited, am I right?..."Helga finished.
Andy blinked in surprise.
"Uh...how did you know that?..."The boy asked.
"Let's just say your dad and I had a hunch...anyway, you can have your party and I'm at the store right now and I can pick some things up..."Helga added.
Andy was kind of stunned by this but smiled that she had given him permission.
"Okay...we'll here's what we are gonna need..."Andy said as he began to list to his mother what he and his friends would need for their party.
